Not sure if the first one is just a straight WIS check (which would be +2) or a WIll Save (which would be +5), but moot, as I rolled a natural 16 so passed regardless. Got a 19 on the Notice check (that accounts for the -2 penalty)

Timeout Lawrence chuckled as the two made their way into Baz's apartment. "You might be surprised. I know for certain that a couple years ago some Claremont students took a trip to the very space station I visited. I believe there have also been some, planned and unplanned, to other dimensions." The teen glanced around the room when they entered, not casting any judgment on the condition of the area. Not seeing any chairs, Lawrence moved into the kitchen area and took a seat on one of the counters as he held out the box of pastries to Baz. "Don't forget to try one of these pastries, they are from place in North Bay my mom really likes."

Timeout "I think the shade of orange can play a big part on how cool it is or not. Claremont should be able to help you with getting your own costume made of morphic molecules." Lawrence replied. When Baz mentioned being willing to go along on any explorations through time and space, the blond teen gave a friendly smile. "I will be sure to keep you in mind. And I can say for certain that there are parts of space where you would not stand out at all." Pausing a moment, Lawrence figured that this statement deserved a bit more background. "A little over five years ago I inadvertently ended up on a space station in a solar system twenty thousand light years away. There were aliens from hundreds of species on that station, and you would not be the most unusual by a long shot." "I am pretty sure Claremont has field trips. I have heard some can be pretty far flung."
-
Timeout Lawrence tensed ever so slightly when Baz mentioned having a stopwatch on his eventual costume, but that passed in a blink of an eye. The blond teen laughter slightly at the question about what color time. "I don't have any plans for a costume yet, have three years to figure that out really. Claremont does provide generic morphic molecule costumes in the school’s colors to all students, so will probably just use that for the time being. As to time's color, that is an interesting question. I would probably have to say it is all of the colors, and none of them." He then went back to Baz's initial questions about his powers. "My powers are pretty much all of the above. I can stop and control time, speeding it up, slowing it down, even reversing to some degree. I can also move through time and believe that with some practice I should be able to bend time and space to transport myself across the globe, and potentially throughout the galaxy."

Timeout "Some entrance music could be pretty cool." Lawrence responded with a smile. He then gave a little shrug as he continued, "I was pretty much born into this community, so I have been bound for Claremont almost all my life." "I have had my powers all my life, so I have a pretty good control over them. But there is still a lot more to explore as to their full potential, and Claremont is a good space to test those limits." The teen added. "It is also a good place to get to know others our age that are going to become part of the superhero community. Never hurts to have friends and contacts you can reach out to if needed." Lawrence choose not to address the remarks about him bringing down despots and masterminds. The line of thinking led to a majorly tangled area that he felt was not best to dwell on right now.

Multi-Girl Bernadette turned toward Summer as well when the Duke focused back on the shy young woman. The redhead gave Summer a supportive smile, allowing the other girl to demonstrate her very unusual abilities at her own pace. When the display was finished and the Duke again clapped in excitement, Bernadette gave a small shrug at the question about what name they might use. "We have na really talked about what we might call ourselves. So, somethin’ we will want ta work on." "As fer a drummer or other accompanists, that is somethin' we can sort out." She paused a moment and looked back at the Duke with a serious expression. "But . . . is the world really ready fer performers with abilities such as ours?"

Timeout Lawrence gave a light hearted chuckled slightly at Baz’s questions about electronics equipment at the school. "Well, like most private schools, Claremont gets money from tuition for students that attend, although that is scaled based on what a family can afford. But Claremont gets most of its money from endowments, which are funded by fundraising efforts of those overseeing the school, including money from those in the superhero community that have a good deal of wealth." The blond teen left out that his family was one of those that gave money to the school, not wanting to draw unnecessary attention to the socio/economic differences between the two of them. "As for whether you can keep any electronic components you get access to at the school, afraid I am not sure about that. I imagine there will be some you can keep, but maybe you will be able to request to keep more from the school."
-
Timeout "Wow, hand building a working radio out of salvaged materials is pretty impressive." Lawrence replied. He tried to focus on the more positive things Baz mentioned. "You should be able to get access to a lot better equipment at Claremont, so lots of opportunity to work on getting better working with electronics. I don't have a lot of lot of hands on experience, but am pretty familiar with the components and how they fit into systems." The teen added with a smile. Lawrence listened as Baz talked about some of his goals. "That is pretty ambitious. But I am sure with some effort you can get that set up." "Any other classes or subjects you are looking forward to in the coming year?"
-
Timeout "Well, Freedom City has seen its share of bizarre things, if any place can adjust, it would be here." Lawrence replied with a good natured smile. But when Baz let his bravado fade and spoke more honestly, Lawrence’s smile was replaced with a more serious and concerned look. "I…I am sure it is not easy." The blond sixteen year old began. "But there are plenty that will not reject you so quickly, and Claremont is certain a place for that. As for those that might, I am sure your actions will be enough to change many of their minds." Lawrence gave a small grin as Baz tried to push aside the negative tone the discussion had taken. "Again, Claremont is probably the best place to really get you on the path of a superhero." "But there will be more than enough classes on all that in a couple months." Lawrence then stated, trying to move the discussion on to other topics. "So, I think you mentioned in some emails that you were interested in electronics?"

Multi-Girl "I 'ave sung in an' abandoned church before with some duplicates, it does sound pretty good." Bernadette replied with a small smirk as she reabsorbed her two duplicates once again. She chuckled slightly amused as the Duke was momentarily lost in thought about a performance in the Sistine Chapel might sound like. At his question, the redhead gave a small shrug. "Ta be honest, Summer had asked me ta join her. She has been tryin' ta get started as a musician an’ thought this could be a good steppin' stone.I have been thinkin' some about what I goin' ta do in a year when I finish at Claremont, so seemed like a good idea."

Timeout If Baz's sudden appearance startled Lawrence, the blond teen hid it well (a benefit of a time distortion that allowed him to process information in what was barely the blink of an eye for a normal person. Lawrence simply stopped in place, giving Baz a friendly smile, completely unfazed by Baz's physical appearance. "Good to meet you Baz." Lawrence stated, holding out one hand to the other teen. Lawrence had an upper class British accent similar to his father's, if slightly less pronounced. "Lawrence is fine, though I will also be going by Timeout at Claremont." He added as the two shook hands. "I brought some food, not much, but they are really good pastries." Lawrence continued, holding up the box in his free hand. "I understand you have not been in Freedom City long? How are you adjusting?"

Timeout The ride in the elevator gave Lawrence a bit of time to think, not that he needed as much as a normal person would. Indeed, if he really wanted to, Lawrence could turn just a second into a near limitless amount of time. Of course, making such a drastic alteration to the flow of time could lead to unexpected consequences. Lawrence was a bit nervous about meeting Baz. He knew the other boy came from some very difficult circumstances, but likely even more significant was Baz's very unusual appearance. The blond teen partially suspected that Headmistress Summers had put him in touch with Baz early with the expectation that Baz's appearance would not be as shocking to Lawrence as it might be to some of their future classmates. It was hardly a calculated risk, given the Headmistress was well aware of Lawrence's unplanned trip to CoVic Station a few years ago, where he had encountered a whole host of alien species, including an over eight foot tall reptilian member of the Praetorians (who had a ten foot long tail that ended with spiked ball). As far as Lawrence was concerned, Baz was just like any other sixteen year old. When the elevator reached the floor with Baz's apartment, Lawrence stepped out and quickly oriented himself in the right direction and started down the corridor. While normally a fairly attentive individual, the Cline Building had been built in an era of more grandiose design, so the hallway had a towering ceiling that provided Baz with plenty of area to keep himself concealed as he crawled along the ceiling, unspotted by Lawrence.

Multi-Girl "I hope there is nothin' infernal about it, otherwise me mum will disown me." Bernadette replied with a small smirk at the Duke’s comment. However, her expression became more serious as he turned to their attendance at Claremont Academy and having suspicions about its true nature. If it had not been for that context, the request he made to them could easily be taken in a very different light. In some ways, it would almost be easier to deal with if he had been making such a lecherous request. Glancing over to Summer, Bernadette could see the older girl seemed almost excited about being able to revel her abilities, but was waiting to see how the Irish teen reacted. Focusing back on the Duke for a moment, the redhead studied him a bit, trying to discern if there was any malicious intent. It seemed he was genuinely interested in the two girls and learning about them had no ill will (at least that Bernadette could detect). So, while a part of her was screaming it was a bad idea, Bernadette gave a small smile as two identical copies of herself popped into existence next to her. "Not exactly an' earth shatterin' ability, but I can create duplicates o' meself." "Useful if I want ta field an' entire lacrosse team on my own." Added one of the duplicates. "An' allows me ta provide me own backup singers as well." Stated the second.

Lincoln, Freedom City, New Jersey Tuesday July 25, 2023 2:23 PM Lawrence Harrow pulled his parents' BWM iX electric SUV into the parking lot of the Cline Building, which was known to some as Freedom League Special Circumstances Housing. As someone who had grown up connected to the superhero community in Freedom City (let alone the son of a member of the Freedom League), Lawrence had visited the FLSCH quite a few times over the years, participating in fundraisers, community improvement projects and social mixers. Today the sixteen year old was here to meet Baltazar (Baz) Botez, who would be his roommate at Claremont Academy when the school year began in a couple months. The school had put the two in touch after it had decided to put them together in a room for the coming year and the pair had exchanged some emails and text messages. This would be the first time Lawrence would be meeting Baz in person. Stepping out of the SUV, the blond sixteen year old had a small box of pastries from a bakery in North Bay his mother liked in one hand. While is was only in the low 80's today, the humidity made it feel much warmer and Lawrence was dressed in a pair of khaki cargo shorts and a blue T-shirt. Making his way into the building, Lawrence headed towards the elevators that would take him to the floor where Baz had his apartment.

Multi-Girl Bernadette followed along with Summer and the Duke, thankful they would be getting away from crowds that were overwhelming Summer. When the entered the Duke's room, the redhead walked slowly around the edge of the room, looking over the decorations and books within the room. Once again, too much time around Charlie had rubbed off on the teen. Turning back to their host as he came forward with two glasses of champagne, Bernadette took the one offered to her before moving over to stand near Summer. "Well… fer meself, I've always been able ta carry a tune, so ta speak." She began taking a brief sip before continuing on. "Growin' up, I had some singin' classes, but never quite focused on it, due ta money an' other things." "Then two years ago I got the opportunity ta attend Claremont Academy down in Freedom City, where Summer was already a student." Bernadette gestured to the other girl. "We were both in music classes an' the music club together fer her last year an' I have continued with that last year. That opportunity really helped refine whatever natural talent I might have had."

NEW STUDENT Name: Lawrence Harrow Codename: Timeout Year: Sophomore Pronouns: He/His Prospective Roommate: Baltazar “Baz” Botez (Gamma Buzz) Goal: Lawrence comes to Claremont with a lot weighing on him (it says something that being the son of a member of the Freedom League is lower among those issues). Lawrence is hoping his time at Claremont can better help prepare him for what might come next and is looking to make as many friends along the way as he can. Favorite Music: Lawrence (unlike his mother) has never been particularly focused on music, so he does not have any particular genre or band that is his “favorite.”

Multi-Girl A wide smile was on Bernadette's face as they finished their last song. Stepping up next to Summer, the redhead wrapped her free arm around the other girl’s shoulders as they looked out at the cheering crowd together. "Thank yea, this is Summer, an' I'm Bernadette, ye 'ave been a fantastic audience." Releasing Summer, Bernadette gave waves to the crowd as she walked over to put the microphone back on its stand and started off stage. Knowing her hair was now a wild, chaotic mess, the Irish teem simply pulled it back into a ponytail as she and Summer stepped off stage and to the greetings and congratulations from those gathered back there, not the least of whom was the Duke himself. "Thank yea. The inspiration was Summer's, I just helped in tha execution." The redhead responded to the Duke's praise in a confident tone while nodding in thanks to several of the well-wishers to either side. It was all a bit chaotic, and thankfully Bernadette was able to handle the jostling a bit better than most, using one hand to keep Summer steady beside her if necessary. At the Duke's offer to move any further discussion to somewhere a bit more private, Bernadette glanced over to Summer, the redhead's expression indicating she was willing to accept the invitation if Summer was.

RETURNING STUDENT Name: Bernadette O’Connell Codename: Multi-Girl Year: Senior Pronouns: She/her Current Intramural Team: Green - Current Roommate: Rosalind Sommaripa (Starshine) (not sure if Tiff is having her return) Reflection: Bernadette is still interested in pursuing some sort of singing career. She has also become more confident and in control of her abilities. Part of her focus now is becoming more capable of handling herself in a fight and using her duplicates to her advantage. Independent Thinker: Overall Bernadette’s after graduation plans have not changed, but she has now come to be more accepting that she can pursue her career goals while also being a superhero.

Multi-Girl Bernadette let the enthusiasm of the crowd wash over her as she finished out their first song. As the cheers for encore began, the Irish teen walked calmly toward the center of the stage again, the mike down by her side as she looked out over the crowd with a sly smile. Stopping just to one side of the center, she waited as Summer came out to join in the center and begin the bold fusion of two very different musical genres. As Summer's bold guitar chords began, Bernadette tossed her long red hair around in wide circles a few times to the heavy metal laced pop beat. When she came to a halt, her thick hair was something of a wild, tangled mess, but that only went all too well with the current number. After a few moments of Summer's explosive guitar work, Bernadette then began to sing once more. She began by pretty much singing the pop lyrics straight, while still somehow blending it to the heavy metal flavored beat. But then after a few lines, the Irish teen switched to a fully heavy metal inspired rendition of the lyrics. As she continued to switch between the two styles, Bernadette used it as an opportunity to better showcase more of her vocal range. Just as she alternated singing styles, Bernadette's stage performance also varied. At times she mimicked the overly choreographed moves used by Sunrise Dawn in their music video, before abruptly changed to a head-banging, thrashing style that would carry her across the stage.

Multi-Girl Bernadette watched the situation with the two punk girls with a slight feeling of amusement, all the while she was fighting the urge to go out to try to help with the situation. Yet another result of the last two years at a school for superpowered teens and hanging around with several that often went out to use their powers to fight crime or otherwise help people. But the redhead remained where she was and resisted the urge to create some duplicates, just in case. As the stage manager began to usher her and Summer out, clearly wanting to get things back under some semblance of control, Bernadette gave him a nod before glancing over to Summer and giving her a reassuring smile. The Irish teen led the way out onto the stage as the stage crew managed to put out the fire and made her way up to the microphone in the center of the stage as Summer moved to get her guitar hooked up. As she waited for Summer to get ready, Bernadette looked out to over the crowd, flashing a dazzling smile. She noted the Duke's somewhat indifferent gaze (accompanied by a generous smile). Just ye wait. The redhead thought to herself. As Summer began the first cords of Bad Reputation, Bernadette began bobbing her head to the beat as the removed the mike from the stand and started moving towards one side of the stage to the rhythm of the music. I don't give a damn 'bout my reputation Living in the past, it's a new generation A girl can do what she wants to do and that’s what I'm gonna do Bernadette began to sing as she danced around the stage, moving from one side to the other to the beat of the music and the lyrics. The redhead put her heart into the song, looking to draw the crowd into the feisty and fun nature of the song.
