Notice Check for looking around backstage for an 18
-
Multi-Girl Bernadette took a deep breath as she took in the heavy atmosphere that was backstage. Glancing at Summer and how she appeared almost on the verge of fainting, the Irish teen grabbed a bottled water from a table set up in the backstage area and held it out to the older girl. "Drink up, need ta be on top form." She stated with a smile. Once Summer took the water Bernadette gave an affirmative nod to the question as to whether or not she was ready. But even as she did, the redhead took a moment to look around the backstage area again as she felt the strange compulsion to create some of her duplicates. Resisting the urge, Bernadette frowned slightly as she wondered what could be causing this strange sensation. After two years hanging around Charlie, a slight bit of paranoia had rubbed off on the teen and she scanned the backstage area to see if anything seemed out of place.
-
Multi-Girl "I just figure we should start with somethin' that will more easily get a good reaction. Then we can go with yer idea o' pushin' the envelope an' show our range." Bernadette responded as the discussed her counter proposal to what they would play. When Summer asked if she was ready to go back stage, Bernadette gave the older girl a grin before chugging what remained of her craft beer before putting the empty bottle down on the bar. "I'm ready now." She replied as the pair started backstage. As they went, the red-headed Irish teen glanced over at the Duke as Summer pointed him out. "Well, now we know 'r true audience." She responded. "But I doubt we can win him over if we don' do well with the crowd."
-
Multi-Girl Bernadette took the packed Irish pub as she and Summer made their way into the establishment. Looking about, the red-head tried to gage the crowd and what might peak their interests. When the two girls reached the bar, the Irish teen smirked slightly at the owner’s comments about Summer’s request for a Guinness. When he looked her way, Bernadette did not hesitate in placing her order, "I'll 'ave a White Hag," she stated with her own authentic Irish accent, naming a craft beer from Ballymote. Once she had the craft beer, the red-headed girl took a drink while she focused back on Summer and the discussion of what they should play. She blinked a moment at Summer's suggestion running through in her mind how the proposed mix of genre would sound. "That's a pretty bold blend o' styles, but I think it might be a wee bit o' a contrast, even fer this lot." Bernadette gestured towards the raucous crowd with one thumb. "How about we start with somethin' a bit less jarrin'? Like Bad Reputation, ala Avril Lavigne. An' assumin' that goes over well, then your idea?"
-
Multi-Girl Bernadette returned Summer's hug, although the red-head’s hug and smile was not nearly a awkward and much more confident. The Irish teen then gave a nod as Summer mentioned trying to find her way as a musician and the problems with being a T-Baby, something Bernadette knew all too well. Although neither of them were readily identifiable as T-Babies, both initially had problems with keeping their powers in check (which their times at Claremont had helped with). Of course, Bernadette could more easily pass off having a duplicate or two as being twins (or triplets) as opposed to Summer's much more bizarre abilities. "I can imagine it is temptin'." The red-head responded to Summer’s comment about struggling with the desire to use her additional fingers to play her music. "Maybe someday ye can be in a position ta fully reveal yer ability." "Just got ta get there first." Bernadette added with a playful smile. "An' on that note…." The Irish teen added as her expression became thoughtful. "Probably as ready as I can be. Between the two of us we can handle whatever this competition throws at us."
-
Multi-Girl Bernadette O'Connell made her way into the park where she had arranged to meet Summer when the older girl had reached out to her. The red-headed eighteen year old was also nearly five foot ten, but where Summer was lanky, Bernadette had a slim athletic build from her years of playing lacrosse before her powers had manifested her Freshman year in high school. The Irish teen was dressed in a grey and black plaid mini-skirt with a simple white cropped tee with a pair of sunglasses. As she made her way into the park, Bernadette's thoughts wandered to the unexpected message from Summer. The two had been in some music classes together during Bernadette’s first year at Claremont and they had some similar interests in music, they really had not gotten to know each other particularly well before Summer graduated. Spotting Summer where she was seated in the sun playing her guitar and Bernadette started in that direction, glancing around slightly to see who was in the area. During her first year at Claremont, the Irish teen would have been much more nervous about being out in public like this given her general lack of control over her duplication powers at the time. Now, after two years at Claremont, the red-head had much greater control over her powers and confidence in controlling them. "Hey Summer, how ye been?" Bernadette called out as she drew closer to where Summer was seated, the red-head’s slight Irish accent hard to miss.

Timeout Power Level: PL 9 (213/223PP) Trade-Offs: -1 Tough/+1 Def Unspent Power Points: 10pp In Brief: Son of a world famous superheroine who was born with a cosmic destiny Alternate Identity: Lawrence Harrow Birthplace: The Null Time Residence: North Bay, Freedom City, Claremont Academy during the school year Base of Operations: Claremont Academy during the school year Occupation: Student Affiliation: Claremont Academy Family: Megan Howell-Harrow (Velocity, mother); Lord Robert Harrow (father); Lulu Beaumont (Crystal Gaze, foster sister); Lynn Conners (Slipstream, adopted sister) Description: Age: Age: 17 (was 6 years old when brought to this timeline in 2013) Apparent Age: 17 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5’ 10” Weight: 160 lbs Eyes: Blue Hair: Blond Lawrence has recently begun to grow out of a tall and lanky stage and has started developing a lean, athletic build. With short blond hair, the teen has fine handsome features similar to his father’s. His bright blue eyes, which seem almost to burst with energy, are the very image of his mother’s. Generally, Lawrence dresses in rather casual fashion, although typically of higher end quality and the occasional designer label. For the time being, Lawrence uses a standard Claremont uniform as a costume. History: The meeting of Lawrence’s parents seemed all but inevitable. Indeed, across multiple timelines, alternate versions of his parents came together, fell in love and married. In one such timeline, the couple had a son, one born with the ability to control the very flow of time. As that child reached adulthood, his vast powers drove him insane and he destroyed that very timeline, moving beyond it into the multiverse beyond. There, that son grew in power, as other version of himself came into existence in other timelines, each seeming to add to the first’s power. Now known as Collapse, the son of Megan Howell and Robert Harrow continued destroying timelines, merging them together as he grew in power. Collapse also began seeking to have additional versions of himself born in more and more timelines, each adding to his already vast power. On Earth Prime, Megan Howell gained superpowers in her early teens and became the superheroine Velocity, eventually joining the ranks of the Freedom League just as she finished high school. While studying for a year in college in England, Megan met Robert Harrow, a member of the British aristocracy, the two quickly beginning a relationship. However, due to Megan’s double life as Velocity, that relationship soon came to an end and Megan returned back to the United States to finish college. However, due to the machinations of Collapse, by way of a powerful device called the Stopwatch that he had sent through time, Megan and Robert were soon brought back together to rekindle their relationship. But even as the two reconnected, a group of temporal refugees, survivors of the many timelines destroyed by Collapse, appeared to try to keep the pair apart and prevent the birth of another version of Collapse. Operating from a Null Time outside the timeline, this group was led by an older Robert Harrow who was the original Collapse’s father and had survived the destruction of their timeline. After several encounters with this group, Megan and Robert eventually ended up in the Null Time when the older Robert Harrow began a project to create a version of Collapse from the DNA of Prime Megan and Robert and born in the Null Time. The hope was to create a version of Collapse that was disconnected from the other, and might someday be able to stop Collapse and end his destruction of timelines. Thus was Lawrence born in the Null Time, with Prime Megan and Robert taking him as their son. From a very young age, Lawrence began demonstrating the ability to effect the flow of time. The new family spent the first six years of Lawrence’s life in the Null Time, outside the normal flow of time. The family then returned to Prime Earth, returning only a day after Megan and Robert had initially been taken to the Null Time. With Megan’s connections through the Freedom League and Robert’s status as an English lord, they were able to create a full identify for Lawrence as they settled into their new life. Lawrence parents chose to make Freedom City their primary residence, allowing them to be close to Megan’s allies on the Freedom League and among other members of the superheroing community centered around the city. Attending the Nicholson School, Lawrence’s parents tried to allow him to live as normal a life as possible. But over the years, Lawrence has drawn the attention of numerous cosmic beings that appear aware of his possible connection to Collapse, and the possibility that Lawrence might be able to counter Collapse. This has led to a number of incidents over the years, including being transported to CoVic Station along with two Claremont teens that were babysitting him and a jaunt through time thanks to Quirk alongside his foster sister and her boyfriend from Claremont. Now Lawrence has begun his time at Claremont Academy, to start to step out of the shadow of his mother’s legacy and move forward with whatever his destiny may be. Personality & Motivation: Lawrence has inherited (or learned) many of the traits of his parents, presenting himself in a casual, confident manner. Like his mother, Lawrence has a strong work ethic and desire to help others. He also has his father’s sharp, analytical mind and scientific curiosity. However, Lawrence is also fully aware of the looming threat of Collapse and the likelihood he will someday have to face that threat. Powers & Tactics: Lawrence’s powers allow him to control the flow of time at both a small and large scale. This ability allows him to appear to move at superhuman speed (although at a rate far slower than his mother’s superspeed) and to avoid attacks by seemingly stepping aside at the last moment. Using his powers at a larger scale, Lawrence can freeze opponents in time, accelerate the healing of others and even stop time completely in a large area. He has also begun to learn how to move between timelines or go forward and backward within a timestream. Complications: Alpha and Omega: Lawrence is believed to be the counter to Collapse, at some point the two may face each other, and who knows what will happen then. Cosmic Notice: Lawrence’s position as the possible counter to Collapse has attracted the attention of several cosmic entities from Quirk to others. Multi-Girl Bernadette had focused on Neko when she had fidgeted after the Irish teen had mentioned Owain. When the Japanese cat-girl finally stated what she suspected about Owain’s sexual orientation, the redheaded nodded slightly. "Aye, that would make sense." She said quietly. The teen then nodded in agreement to Leon's comments. "But your right, it is okay." Bernadette stated. "It may be it is somethin' he needs ta work out, but like Leon said, we are here ta help, however we can."

Multi-Girl Bernadette ginned at Leon as he lamented not getting copies of some of what they had found on Luke's phone. After spinning the bottle and selecting Carmen to go next, the redheaded teen had a few moments to sit back and finish her beer while Leon choose truth and answered the cat-girl’s question. Neko was selected to go next, and the Japanese teen choose Bernadette. The Irish girl thought a brief moment before answering. "Truth." "I 'like' plenty o' boys." Bernadette initially responded with a grin. But then she became a bit more serious. "But I expect ye are meanin' somethin' more than just boys I'm friends with." "As far as boys I might be interested in….Charlie is one. He's in great shape, very focused an' confident. On the downside, his focus boarders a bit on obsession, so, he seems ta have little time fer much outside his focus." The teen finally stated with a somewhat resigned look. She then looked back up at Neko. "Owain is pretty cute as well. Though, like Charlie, he seems ta have a rather single minded focus."

Multi-Girl Bernadette was not in a rush to down the beer she had, although she was pretty certain it would take more than a few before she might really start feeling anything. When Luke made a suggestion on playing a party game, the redheaded Irish girl chuckled slightly before moving slightly so that the group was more or less in a circle. As the group more or less agreed to the suggested game, Neko wasted little time in emptying a bottle to start them off. As the bottle came to a rest pointing at her, Bernadette looked around the group for a moment before settling on Luke. "Truth or Dare Luke?" The Irish teen asked. Truth Dare

Multi-Girl "That might be tha case, but ah'm not so sure. I mean, if one o' me duplicates does a lot o' physical exertion an' merges back with me, I don' get more tired." Bernadette commented when Luke asked whether merging with an intoxicated duplicate might compound the alcohol in her system. "They typically aren' around long enough ta get hungry, but when I have practiced lacrosse with some duplicates, they certainly get thirsty an' drink water." The Irish teen then added. When the group reached the railyards, Bernadette easily leapt over the rear fence, landing gracefully on the other side, if a bit louder than Neko. Following along with the group, the redheaded teen took one of the bottles of beer and popped off the cap with her hands before clinking it against Neko's offered cheer and taking a drink herself.

Multi-Girl Bernadette gave a small smile in return to Leon’s comment about Charlie likely being disappointed at the petty delinquency the group was engaging in. "What do ye mean 'would?' He will probably know before tha end o' the week." The Irish redhead did not comment as the fifth member of the group spoke up, asking for the cigarettes Neko had acquired. While Bernadette had seen Carmen around campus, the two had not had much interaction. The teen's bright green eyes focused back on Neko when she asked about whether any of her duplicates needed any of the alcohol the Japanese teen had brought along with the cigarettes. "Thanks, but they should be fine." Bernadette replied with a smile. "Besides, ah'm not completely shoore what might happen if some o' me duplicates drink an' then merge back with me."

Multi-Girl Bernadette O’Connell was standing to one side of the group, her hands tucked in the pockets of the black New England Revolution hoodie she was wearing. The redheaded Irish teen was wearing a pair of dark jeans along with grey cross-trainers. Over the last year Bernadette had learned a lot about controlling her abilities and become more comfortable with using them and the entire “superhero” thing, even if she still felt slightly out of place. The redhead gave a nod to Neko as the Japanese teen rejoined them. "Ah have a pair o' copies a few blocks out. They haven' seen much either." Bernadette stated with her slight Irish accent.

REPLICATED by Fox (also updated: grapple check, age, PL notation; added flat-footed defense) Multi-Girl has 14 unspent PP and now that she is a Junior going to bump her up to PL 9. 2 PP for +1 BAB (up to +5) 1 PP for +1 Dodge Focus 4 PP to her Container, 2 going to Enhanced Str, the other 2 to Enhanced Con All of that puts her at PL 9 combat caps. So that her duplicate matches, adding 3 PP to Duplication to raise it on rank. This will leave her with 4 unspent PP. Hey TA, I would be up for adding Multi-girl to either.

Velocity Megan gave a small smile as Lulu mentioned that people often did not seem overly frightened of speedsters, particular one that might seem as harmless and wholesome as a young woman speedster. "Being underestimated has been something I have capitalized on for some time. Taking on a rather flighty, somewhat airheaded demeanor certainly helps sell that." The blonde woman's expression quickly become more serious as Lulu once again turned to her own abilities and her past. "Telepathy and other mental powers can be very dangerous if abused, but there are a great number of abilities that can, even if mental powers can be more insidious and unnerving to most. But you need to stop letting your past and your family define you or hold you back. You have grown and changed in so many ways in the years since you came to live with us." Megan paused a moment before another small smile came to her face. "You know who you might benefit from talking with? Paige Cline, also known as Hologram. Not only does she have abilities similar to yours, but she has a public identity, and comes from a family with a much more significant criminal history than yours. I think she can help provide you some valuable insight into the pros and cons of what you are considering, as well as help you see how you can chart your own path forward."
-
Velocity Megan walked back around to her chair to sit down as Lulu asked her follow up questions. The blonde woman gave Lulu a smile as she began he reply. "Well, the short answer is far more than knew my secret identity when I was your age." "As you know, my parents and siblings all know, as does Robert's mother and sister. Many of the members of the Freedom League know, as do some of my old teammates on the Interceptors, in particular Grimalkin, my oldest and closest friend and one of the first people to know. A few of the parents from the Nicholson school, ones that are also active heroes. There have been a few others here and there, namely Headmistress Summers, another teenage hero I dated briefly around the end of my Senior year in high school and a UNISON agent." "As for my decision to tell various people about my secret identity, well that is no real easy answer and varies from person to person, but all are generally tied to initial, at times misguided, decision to create the identify of Velocity and to zealously guard it. When I gained my powers early in high school, I was already something of a ball of energy and my new powers just seemed to dial that up to a hundred. Just using my powers to get my homework and chores done in moments was just not enough of an outlet, so it was not long before I had my first Velocity costume and was zipping around doing good in North Bay in Kingston. That was incredibly freeing, both in allowing me to operate at my full potential and not force myself to operate at 'normal' speeds and also just get away from my self-inflicted overachieving routine. So, I originally decided to keep my identity and power secret from my parents for selfish reasons, I did not want them to do anything to stop me from being Velocity." "Later, as I ended up dealing with more serious and dangerous events, I convinced myself that keeping my secret was necessary to protect my family and friends. But as I never went to Claremont, it was not easy to constantly keep a double life and regularly lie to everyone I cared about. I can tell you that double life was a significant factor in the chain of failed relationships I had through high school. So, when I meet Grimalkin, despite the fact we butted heads at first it was not long before I shared the secret with her as it was such a relief to have someone to openly talk about things with, particularly someone my own age. Around that time I also shared it with some of my new teammates on the Freedom League." "But I continued to keep the secret from my family and friends, in part continuing to hold to the idea that it was somehow protecting them and also as it was just sort of second nature to keep that going at that point. The double life continued to be something of an issue through college, and very nearly ended Robert and I's relationship. It was only due to the machinations Collapse and the Stopwatch that Robert learned I was Velocity and we got back together." "I finally made the decision to tell my parents and siblings after Robert and I brought Lawrence back to the timeline. At that point was sort of necessary to explain why they suddenly had a six year old grandson or nephew, but I had also had plenty of time to think it all over and discuss it with Robert during Lawrence's first six years in the Null Time. My parents generally had the strongest reaction, feeling rather disappointed I had not trusted them enough with something so important much, much earlier (like when I was sneaking out at night as a teenager to fight crime in the city)." Megan then gave a small smile as she added. "But those feelings were certainly blunted by Lawrence." Megan then stopped a moment as her smiled widened. "Well, that was probably a bit too long winded, but as I said, my Velocity identity has something of a complicated history."
-
Velocity Megan gave a small nod as Lulu mentioned Veronica Danger. "Her family has an entire media subsidiary at their disposal, I imagine they can help point you to some good resources to help with any PR we might need. If not provide a little help with that as well." When Lulu shifted the discussion to her still having uneasiness with good things happening in her life, Megan gave the young woman a sympathetic smile. The blonde woman stood up and walked over to Lulu, giving her a tight hug. "You are always welcome to any help we can provide to you. As we told you when you were finishing up at Claremont, our legal responsibility for you might have been ending, but you are still part of our family." Stepping back slightly, Megan focused back on Lulu as she gave her a warm smile. "As far as having to pay for the good things that have happened to you, well, I think that if you continue helping people, either as a costumed crime fighter or as a therapist, or both, I think that is more than a fair trade in return."
