Veronica Danger Veronica eventually swam back to the aft of the Horizon, climbing up out of the water onto the platform on one of the vessel's hulls. Grabbing a towel, she began drying herself off as she made her way up to the flybridge where the others were gathering while Pan when to get dressed. "Everyone ready for a crash course on SCUBA diving?" The teenage Danger asked as she grabbed some water and a powerbar. Once everyone was done with breakfast, Veronica led them back down to the main deck where the crew had set out the dive equipment. Over the next half an hour, Veronica and several of the crew went over the various equipment: how to attach the tank to the harness and attached buoyance control device (BCD); how to attach the "octopus" (containing the main regulator, spare regulator, BCD attachment and air gages) to the tank and then the uses of each. There were a number of different masks, snorkels, weight belts and fins for each teen to choose from as well. After the crash course was over everyone went to change for their practice dive. As the dive would be staying in shallower water, Veronica opted to remain in just her one-piece swimsuit. By the time the other teens had changed and made their way back up to the deck, Veronica and a couple of crew members had moved everyone’s diving gear down to the rear platform of one of the Horizon's hulls. The teenage Danger was strapping a dive knife onto the side of her right calf and had a black watch on her left wrist, her weight belt already around her waist. "Okay, lets gear up." Veronica called out to her friends with a smile a she picked up her tank and harness, slipping the BCD vest on and tightening all the straps. The crew helped the others as Veronica finished getting her mask, snorkel and flippers. "Remember, off the platform we go down about thirty feet and gather together, from there we will swim over toward the reef and explore along its outer edge for about twenty minutes, then surface and make our way back to the Horizon." Once everyone was ready, the teenage Danger jumped off the platform into the clear blue waters, sinking down towards the bottom below. A Veronica approached the bottom some thirty feet under the waves, she used the thick black hose attached to her BCD to inflate the vest with a little bit of air to provide her with enough buoyance so she would remain at her current depth. She then swam off to the side slightly as she looked up towards the surface, waiting for her friends to join her, bubbles from her regulator as she exhaled slowly rising up above.

Veronica "Dinosaur bones?" Veronica responded with a slightly puzzled look on her face at Danica's revelation. But then she quickly recovered. "We can look into that later, right now just head up here." The teenage Danger then listened to Heroditus' further observations on the portal, a slight frown on her face as they waited for Micah and Danica to make their way back up. Once the other two were with the main group, Veronica filled them on the additional information provided by Heroditus. "So, it would seem like the lost scientist accidently wandered into this rift when it was open. It must have closed when the workers were searching for them, and has now reopened."” She stated. "This is a bit more than I expected when I asked you all to come along to help me. The missing men are my family’s employees, so it is my responsibility to go in there and see if it is possible to find them." Veronica stated, pointing in the direction of the rift that only she and Heroditus could see. "I think our chances at succeeding are best if we stick together. But, if anyone wants to stay behind, I fully understand."

Veronica Danger As the tour had reached the gym, Dee had excused herself to use the restrooms at the entrance, mentally letting Murine know she was experiencing a wave a nausea. When Kam continued the tour on into a large room of the gym which housed not only various gymnastics equipment, but also a rock wall along one side. The ceiling of the room rouse high into the air, well over two stories in height to accommodate the rock wall. Currently another Claremont student was present in this part of the gym, towards the back section of the room. Veronica Danger was wearing a belt attached to two long bungee ropes. The teenager Danger was gracefully rising and falling almost the entire height of the room on the bungee ropes. As she rose and fell, the teen alternated between a series of either front or backward rotations, stopping the rotations and relaxing her body slightly at the apex or lowest points at times to slow her momentum, only to speed it back up when she brought her arms back in close to her body and began flipping once more. The teen was dressed in her typical attire, khaki cargo shorts, a black T-shirt and a pair of well-worn hiking boots. Her long brown hair was back in a braided pony tail, to ensure it stayed out of her way during her exercise. As Veronica descended once more, halting her rotations, she spotted the tour group. "Hey Kam, Àjàṣorò." She called out before the momentum of the bungee ropes sent her back upwards once more. As this started, Veronica began a backwards flip, tucking her legs in slightly and bringing her arms up to the ropes to shift her weight back, so instead of rising straight back upward she was carried backward where she flipped over to land on a small platform as she grabbed the handrails to stop herself and began unhooking the bungee ropes from the belt around her waist.

Synapse There were a number of things irritating Dee Farrington, also known as Synapse. The extended period of time that it had taken to finally arrange for this official visit to Rurland had been one. And then there had been the added complexity of arranging for transportation. Talos was not really making it easy for any of the world’s governments to put much trust into his proclaimed peaceful intentions. Dee was more than ready to arrive at their destination, the flight having not been the most comfortable to begin with, it was perhaps even a bit more so for her. The Englishwoman was wearing the medium grey and purple full bodysuit that served as her costume as Synapse, which had just enough give that despite her pregnancy starting to show she could still wear it. But she expected within a fortnight or so she would likely not be able to wear it any longer. And of course then there was the domino mask she wore as well, she had never had it on for such a long period of time and it was really starting to try her patience. When Klara spoke up Dee focused her attention on the tall woman. "I do not expect it to be a problem." She replied at the other woman’s comment about some at their destination speaking Russian. "I expect a large number of the humans we encounter will be like our fellow passengers, transplants from other places speaking a wide range of languages. As for any of the synthetic residents, I expect many will be able to communicate just fine with us in English or Russian." The Englishwoman glanced briefly back toward the back of the plane where the mostly Venezuelan refugees bound for Rurland were seated. At the start of the flight Dee had spent a bit of time interacting with them, but had mostly left them alone given their unease at the presence of the members of Vanguard. She then looked back toward Klara and around at the other members of Vanguard. In addition to the familiar faces there was a recent new addition to the group, a Danish heroine. At Klara question, Dee focused back on her. "Oh, I doubt they are going to let us roam around unaccompanied. I expect we will have a number of minders, both obvious and less so." The trick will be to see if any of us can slip away to see what they might not want us to. The Englishwoman added over the mental network she had used to allow the members of Vanguard to communicate privately. Unfortunately, she was not able to include the other member of the visiting delegation, given Eria’' synthetic brain.

Synapse Dee resisted the urge to rattle off answers to the many additional questions Heroditus had about internal combustion engines and their operation. After all, they were here for Muirne to see and experience the school she would be spending the next few years at, the Englishwoman was just there to observe and be able to assure any concerns of the other Vanguard members. When Heroditus offered her an apology about not correctly ascertaining her age, Dee waived it off. "Don't worry about it, I can recall a time where most adults seemed to be either old or really old." She replied with a small smile as she waited for the tour to move on to the next location.

Veronica Danger "No, the tricks were handled by the others." Veronica replied with a small smile as the older gentleman got back to his feet, healed of his minor injuries. She stood up as well and gave him a small smile. "Veronica Danger." She stated in introduction. When the man answered her question about what the other man had been after, a slightly questioning look came to the teenage Danger's face. "I have heard most of those." She admitted when he named some of the fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen. "What is so special about this book compared to other editions?"

Veronica Danger Veronica stopped her motorcycle as they came within sight of the Centuritron, setting down her feet to keep it balanced as she took off her helmet to have an unobstructed view of the giant machine. When Legatus drifted down next to her she gave a nod as he mentioned not just wanting to start attacking it and its unusual behavior. "I agree," She said quietly, "no need to stir it up while it is acting passive. Gives us a chance to study it a bit and see if we can get any clue as to what might be going on or who might be controlling it." As Legatus looked at the area around them, Veronica's gaze remained on the Centuritron, as she tried to study it to see if she could glimpse any clues to how it had reactivated and whether it was still operating under simple radio control.

Veronica Danger Working together the Danger cousins soon had the boxes and other clutter cleared enough to expose the entire drape covered object. Once the found the other end it turned out to be almost ten feet across. "Wow, if this is a portrait, it better have most of the family in it." Veronica commented with a slight grin, although she was beginning to have doubts that it actually was a portrait. As Janus went to get one end of the cover that covered the unusual object, Veronica moved over to the other, nodding at Janus’ warning about the dust. "Okay, ready." She replied as she reached up and grasped the cloth. Together the Danger cousins were able to pull the heavy cloth off, the effort quickly lessening as the weight of more of the cloth began to add momentum. The cover fell down to the floor in front of the object with a small cloud of dust kicking up around it. Veronica waved a hand in front of her to clear the dust out of her face as she looked to see what they had just reveled. There was no family portrait under the tarp, nor even another type of painting. What they found was large, slightly oval archway made of dark grey stone. There were carvings of some sort along the edges of the stone, although the light was not good enough back in this corner of the attic to see what they might be. Stretching across the space between the sides of the stone archway was a smooth sheet of what appeared to be obsidian, slightly reflective and dark as the deepest night. "Oh, this looks rather sinister." Veronica commented as she stared at the unusual object.

Synapse Dee had long ago stopped caring what people thought about some of her, mostly, past escapades that had landed her often in some of the British tabloids and a few other similar media on mainland Europe. So when Heroditus did a slight double-take of her, she simply watched the teen for a moment before smirking slightly at his question as to whether she was Murine's parent or gardian. Murine provide a quick response, but Dee still responded as well. "Ouch, I am old, but not that old." She said with a small smile. "To have a daughter Murine's age I would have had them when I was younger than any of you. I might have been sneaking out at night from the fancy boarding schools my parents sent me to have fun at that age, but not that much fun."

GM As the two college students talked, Casey’s super hearing detected something from somewhere else on the Quad. "Hey, what happened to my purse?" Shouted some female student. Even as Casey was registering the surprised shout, it was almost instantly joined by another. "My backpack’s gone!" And then at least two more similar shouts or screams. Just as Casey started to turn towards the sounds, Nick heard a couple of the closets shouts of surprise as well. As she turned in the direction of the growing sound cries, she spotted a three blurs of motion, moving among the gathered students leaving looks of bewilderment in their wake. The fast moving forms were moving in the general direction of her and Nick.

GM Astrid took to the air and flew up over the building that Veronica had pointed towards as the direction Goanna had leapt. Getting up higher in the air and not being focused on just what was going on in a narrow section of the zoo, the teen now had a better view of things, and it was not good. There were a number of people still running in panic all around the parts of the zoo Astrid could now see. And even with the added elevation, she still caught no sight of the massive lizardman.

Interest gauging for a Claremont Culinary Fair
Thevshi replied to EternalPhoenix's topic in Archives
As mentioned in chat, Veronica has traveled the world and had a chance to try all sorts of exotic foods (and not from a restaurant), so she could potentially cook up something very unusual that she once tried somewhere. -
GM Lawrence chuckled and smiled as Adam brought up the subject of food. When Lulu created her illusion on the kitchen table, the twelve year old leaned down slightly to get a closer look at the small soldiers, clearly impressed with the detail. "Not sure we could match this detail with just some paper and glue Lulu." He said with a grin. Just then, the doorbell rang, indicating the food had arrived. A few moments later Lulu had gone to the door to get the food, using the money Megan had left out on a small table near the front door to pay. Soon the three were seated at the kitchen table with several boxes of different Thai food set out between them. Lawrence finished swallowing a bite of food before he looked over at the two teens. "If you two really want to, instead of some random project, I do have a project for school due toward the end of next week. It is for science and should be something related to astronomy. I was thinking of a model of the solar system."

Great roll. I am going to have to take into account supersense, which means Casey is very likely to have an advantage to a degree. You should add a link to your character sheet in your signature. Helps GMs and others in going to look at your sheet when they need to

Veronica Danger Veronica chuckled at Janus' comment about hoping to find baby pictures of their Aunt Rachel, or anything else that might embarrass some of the family elders. "There is always hope that something like that could be tucked away somewhere up here." She replied. "But I do not believe this is anything like that, unless it is a very large family portrait or a collection of lots of smaller family pictures in one massive frame." Janus joined Veronica back near one of the attic walls. There, both Dangers could see part of some large object that appeared to be either set up against the wall or perhaps resting on it. It was hard to tell because only one edge of it was visible from behind boxes that blocked the rest, and it was covered in a heavy cloth drape. What they could see what it appeared to be some sort of slightly curved object, about a foot wide and half that thick, that went up higher than Janus' height before flattening out to run horizontal. How long it was to the other end the currently could not see. "Shall we see if we can get it uncovered?" Veronica asked.

We mainly use Orokos for our die rolling. To insert them in a post, there are two ways, when in the posting window, there is a button at the top that looks like a chain link (if you hover over it, it will say "Link"). If you click that, you can copy the url for your roll and put in text for what you want the link to the roll to say.

Sorry @Bourbon for the delay in responding. Yes, please post all rolls in this thread.

Veronica Danger Kemal was looking at the bones, a shocked expression still partially visible on his face. "I have been on paleontology digs for Danger International, there are no dinosaur bones even remotely close to this recent." He said in response to Danica’s comment about their apparent age. But when Veronica’' call came over the radio, Kemal fell silent to let Danica respond. "We are all fine Chelone." Veronica responded to the other girl's question. "We think we have found what happened to the missing doctors. There is a dimensional rift up here that their trail leads right up to. It is not visible to the normal eye, so they could have walked right in and not even known it." "I am going to have Thunderbird down to give you a lift up." The adjustments Heroditus made to his goggles allowed him a view at what Veronica could see. Like she said, the rift was rather large, a slightly rounded arch that stretched almost entirely across a small pass that lay on the path ahead. The boarders of the fissure pulsed, slightly expanding and contracting. Now that he could see it a bit better, the Atlantean teen could sense it was slowly starting to close back up. It was entirely possible that it opened and closed from time to time, but he could not determine how long the interval between might be.

Synapse "That is settled then." Dee stated as Eira relented and indicated she would be willing to visit. "We can work to see what time Eira has available and arrange things around that." The Englishwoman continued giving Eira a slight nod. "I am looking forward to seeing what has you so excited Kay and, of course, for a chance to see you." She added with a small smile. "We have a couple new Vanguard members since last I saw you, but we can talk about that more once I contact you again after coordinating with Eira."

Dee is using her area mental communicate set to one way for the moment to try to get everyone in the club to calm down.

Synapse A frown came to Dee's face as suddenly the entire restaurant was engulfed in a unnatural silence. The Englishwoman looked around, noting the shock that was quickly spreading among the other patrons, which was quickly replaced by either fear or anger or some combination of the two. Well, this is bloody wonderful. She mentally stated to Erick over their shared mental connection. We need to do something before the entire place goes crazy with panic She added While keeping the connection with Erick open, Dee activated another of her mental powers, reaching out to cover the entire restaurant. Everyone calm the bloody hell down! She mentally shouted, limiting the communication to one way. This is Synapse of Vanguard. We are trying to determine what is going on, but in the meantime, please move calmly towards the exits and outside.
