Goanna gets a 20 on his reflex save, so is entangled. @Grumblefloof Octoman is up!

Veronica Danger "The hydra." Veronica provided for Ben as he and the others emerged from the pod with some additional information related to the missing scientists' work. As she looked at the maps that Danica had brought, the teenage Danger was busy pulling things out of thin air. Soon the table in front of her had a small range pack and some coils of climbing rope. "Well, based on these maps and what Jamal has told me, the last time the two doctors were seen was when they set off into the foothills to look for possible new dig sites." Veronica said as she looked up to Danica. "Given that terrain, it would probably be best to leave your Segway down here. We are likely to spend as much time climbing as walking up there." She fixed her pair of climbing axes to her belt as she looked at the object that Heroditus had found, her eyebrows arching slightly as she studied the object. "Hmm, I had not seen that mentioned in any of the reports, might have been something the found just before they disappeared so they never got a report out." She stated as she strapped on a survival knife next. "We ready to go?" Veronica asked as she looked over to the others and slung her pack onto her back. "For anyone that wants or needs them feel free to take a climbing axe." She added, as one of the men that had met them outside the camp came back with several of the climbing tools in his arms.

Synapse I believe it is Beowulf. Dee mentally responded to Muirne's question about what Eira was quoting. When Pan mentioned her likely knowing the story of Peter Pan, Dee gave a small smirk. "Yes, a rather well known story. And please, just Dee is fine." She replied. "It is nice to see you again as well Pan. As for why I am here, I would not presume to try to make anyone act any differently than they might otherwise." She began. "Just here to get a sense of the school. Some of the other members of Vanguard are wanting to be sure about where we are going to be sending Muirne. I am sure you remember Dreadnaught and Zhenschina-voin."

Veronica will fire a mystical blast at Goanna (-4 because he is in melee with Octoman). First roll is a 8 so I will use HP to reroll, getting a 16 which gets increased to 26, for a DC 24 toughness save for Goanna, which he easily passes with a 25. @Cubismo Ms. Thursday is up!

Veronica Danger As frustrated as Veronica was that Fearmaster had seemed unaffected by her attack, that frustration quickly passed as first Octoman paralyzed the sonic using villain and then Thunderbird lashed out with another powerful lightning bolt. But whatever elation she might have felt as the tied seemed to be turning further in their favor was dampened when the massive reptilian form of Goanna charged towards Octoman, trying to slash him with sharp, deadly claws. Luckily Octoman was able to dodge aside as the villain let out his frustration. But the teenage Danger knew it would only take one misstep before one of them got seriously injured by this deadly foe, so she raised her hands up in front of her, with her right hand slightly forward, as mystical energy surrounded them. "Hands off!" She shouted as she sent a blast of mystical energy at the massive reptile. Despite Octoman weaving to the side in front of her target, Veronica managed to hit the villain. But similar to Fearmaster earlier, Goanna seemed to shrug off the blast with little more than a snarl of irritation.

GM Fearmaster was unable to respond to Thunderbird's question, as he stood firmly in place as a result of Octoman's paralyzing venom. When the airborne hero let lose his powerful lightning bolt, it passed just over Octoman's head, who had been unable to hear the shouted warning to duck. The electrical blast hit Fearmaster, who was unable to try to dodge aside, the force of the impact knocking him off his feet. The villain was sent flying backward to where he slammed into the wall of a building and then fell to the ground in a smoking heap. Goanna watched with frustration as his ally continued to prove of minimal use. When the sonic wielding villain was completely removed from the fight, the massive reptilian villain’s eyes locked onto Octoman. "Time to get what I came for." He snarled, before rushing forward towards Octoman. The hulking villain lashed out with a powerful clawed hand, but Octoman managed to duck under the swipe. Failing to connect with his target caused Goanna to let out another roar of frustration as he now found himself alone and surrounded by superpowered teens.

Okay, Goanna is going to move over to where Octoman is and just attack him, getting a 14 on his attack roll so he misses badly. Artificer is still dazed, but on what would have been Fearmaster’s turn gets another Will save against DC 15, with a +1 this time. @Dr Archeville This brings up: Round Seven 28 Veronica Danger (unharmed) 4 HP 20 Ms. Thursday (unharmed) 3 HP 17 Octoman (unharmed) 4 HP 14 Chelone (unharmed, fatigued) 3 HP 12 Thunderbird (unharmed) 4 HP (Has Rank 10 Turtle Sell around him) 11 Goanna (bruised 2) 9 Rhinoceros (bruised 3, calmed) 8 Artificer (unharmed) 0 HP Veronica’s Gem Variable Pool: AF: Ranged 2; AF: Melee 2; Acrobatics 8 (up to +19) Veronica Magic Pool: 1) Immunity: Fear (Extras: range to touch (+1), Burst Area (+1); Feats: Progression: Area +4 (125’ radius burst) [7 PP] 2) Blast 9 [18 PP]

Fearmaster only gets a 15 on his toughness save, so he goes down. @KnightDisciple Also, I don't think you need that reroll, as Fearmaster was paralyzed, and thus pretty helpless (ie flat-footed).

Synapse Dee listened as Erick talked abou8t some of the clues he had been finding on social media for gangs in the Westminster area. As she did, the Englishwoman quickly went into a search of social media for that area, pulling up some of the videos in question. "A good number of criminals can often be bloody daft." She said in reply to Muirne's question. "It is the ones that are not that you often have to be most worried about." "Despite the bravado they might have, they are not particularly likely to be too willing to speak with us about their supplier, if for no other reason than to avoid losing their supply of drugs." Dee then added. "But, we will see what we find once we are there." Looking at the others, she gave a small smile. "Looks like we are off to Westminster. Time to suit up."
-
Synapse Dee saw Muirne tense slightly at the appearance of the bear which turned out to be another of the Claremont students she had meet just last month. Slightly concerned about the teen, Dee gently reached into the girl's mind. Easy Muirne, stay calm. The Englishwoman stated mentally, a connection that Muirne had experienced before since her first encounter with Dee, in particular during her outing with Vanguard, as Dee kept the members in mental communication during the mission. "It is just Dee Farrington today." The Englishwoman offered Eira with a small smile of her own. That was when yet another student arrived, making the third Dee had met during the party at the De Temps building. With yet another startling student appearing, Dee kept the mental connection open with Muirne for the moment.
-
Synapse Dee had given Janus Danger a small nod in return as she remained off to the side as yet another Claremont student arrived. This one the Englishwoman recognized from her most recent vist to Freedom City, after Vanguard's mission with True North. A half smile came to her face as she watched Muirne's interaction with Pan, a good sign that a bit of teenage normalcy would be good for Murine. If Dee was bothered when Janus started offering advice on how to sneak off campus, the older woman did not show it. Indeed, once Janus had finished Dee spoke up. "I hope you are paying attention Muirne. Janus may be sharing some of the most important information you might learn on this tour."

Veronica Danger "Oh there was most certainly a wide assortment of commodities which made their way along the Silk Road, in both directions."[ Veronica responded to some of Heroditus' questions as they stood outside waiting for some of the others. The teenage Danger then considered some of the other questions raised by both Astrid and Heroditus. "Well, from the reports I have seen from the two doctors, they had uncovered rather typical artifacts for digs out here. Shards of pottery hailing from many different parts of the ancient world, tools, some coins." She said as she walked over toward a table under a large tent on which a number objects had been laid out. "But, I guess it does not hurt to check." She stated as her eyes took on a faraway look as she first looked over the objects on the table and then slowly began to turn, scanning the entire camp. "No, no magic here other than what some of us brought." She stated as her eyes returned to normal. Making his way into the pod that had housed the missing scientists, Heroditus joined Danica in looking over the piles of papers, maps and other objects that covered the desks in the main room. Unfortunately for the two, the handwritten notes of the two men provide little information, as they were in German. However, amongst the papers were some other things that were a bit more informative. There were a couple of maps that appeared to be surveys of the area around the camp, with markings on them showing where the doctors had been focusing the digging efforts. However, one map appeared to show some of the foothills near the edge of the desert, with several areas circled on them in a draw that seemed to go far up into the nearby mountain range. There were also several photographs of objects, coins and some pottery, which both Heroditus and Dancia recognized to be Roman. But perhaps even more surprising, as they were moving papers and maps about, the pair uncovered a small, flat object that was wrapped in a oil cloth. Carefully opening the cloth, inside they found a small fragment of a stone tablet. Heroditus instantly recognized that the writing on the tablet was Atlanean! However, it was such a small fragment that there were only a few words that were still legible, some sort of warning and mention of a "lost enclave."

Veronica Danger Flying out onto the main deck before going over the top of the flydeck, Pan caught a glimpse of some of the crew members setting out equipment, but did not stop to take a closer look. As he came to a halt above the net at the front of the boat, he heard a voice from up on the flydeck behind him. "It was just Veronica, getting a bit of acrobatics practice in using the netting as a trampoline before a morning swim." Said Prudence, who was standing toward the front of the flydeck, a cup of coffee in one hand. The seemingly omnipresent personal assistant to Veronica and Janus was dressed as casually as Pan had ever seen her dress, wearing a one-piece bathing suit, over which she wore a loose fitting white cover-up and a wide brimmed hat. Looking out over the water, Pan saw that the Horizon was moored about half a mile from a small island. There was a reef that seemed to stretch around this side of the island only a short distance away, and after few moments he spotted Veronica swimming in the clear blue water near the reef.

Paradigm The Devotion flew amongst the many other spacecraft that appeared to be either coming or going towards the wormhole from which the Praetorian craft had just emerged. As they drew closer to the moon sized metal object, more and more spacecraft came into view, gathered around the massive object that appeared to be the Devotion's destination. At Leroy's question, Amara looked over at the teenager as she replied, "You will certainly have free access to all public spaces on the station." The Naram began. "But like many places, Terra as well from what I understand, there are naturally private residents and governmental facilities which are not readily accessible." As the massive, moon sized space station drew closer, the gathered students could see they were headed toward a section of the surface of the station that seemed heavily remodified compared to much of the rest. There were dozens of tall structures that appeared to be similar to skyscrapers, expect many rouse more than a mile from the surface of the station. In other places large sections of the exterior had been removed, creating vast openings, some appearing to stretch miles that led into the inner structure of the station, and, given the amount of spacecraft moving in and out of those opening, appeared to lead to docking facilities. The Devotion continued toward one of the smaller open sections along the surface of the station, entering into a large inner chamber that contained numerous small openings along the wall. The Praetorian vessel entered into one of those openings, passing through a forcefield before touching down in what was clearly some sort of hanger. "Now my young friends, welcome to CoVic Station." Paradigm stated as she looked over at the Claremont teens with a small smile.

Synapse "A pleasure to meet you Àjàṣorò." Dee said with a small smile. "And please call me Dee, now that we no longer have to be concerned with formalities." The Englishwoman said to Kam as the twins prepared to start the tour. At Kam's offer for her to join the tour, Dee gave a small nod. "Thank you, I was wanting to get a look as well." She stated. "Need to report back to…some of the others back home that wish to learn more about where we will be sending Muirne." Starting after the three teens, Dee stayed a short distance behind in order to be a little less of an authoritative presence.

Synapse Was not her entrance alone, it was assisted. Was Dee's wry mental response to Erick. Besides, I prefer to save my big entrances for times when there are paparazzi around to memorialize them. When Tarva made her way over to where Dee and Klara were, the Englishwoman gave the former Annihilist a thin smile. "A pleasure." She replied simply before Tarva moved on to greet the next person. "I think I am going to get some water and maybe take a seat." Dee stated to Klara, who was still petting one of the shadow hounds, before starting over to where Joseph and Adhira were standing near the refreshments.

Veronica Danger The gathered workers briefly gave the group of teenagers some strange looks, but soon were gathering tools to start the day’s work when Veronica's instructions were translated by one of the two men that had initially met the group. Veronica looked over to Heroditus as Danica and Ben made their way into the pod that had been used by the two archeologists. "They have been excavating the ruins of an ancient oasis town that used to be one of the stopping points along the Silk Road." The teenage Danger replied to the Atlantean teen’s questions. "A network of trade routes that were in use for thousands of years, at times reaching as far west as the eastern edges of the Roman Empire in modern Turkey and Egypt to China in the east." She pointed both to the west and east in turn as she spoke. "This site is along a southern route of the Silk Road, which made its way around the exterior of the Taklamakan desert by following the base of the Kunlun mountain range." Veronica continued, pointing off to the southeast, were a few snowcapped peaks could be seen far in the distance. "From the field reports I have looked at, it appears this site was at the peak of its activity some nineteen hundred years ago." Entering the identified pod, Danica and Ben found a much more comfortable interior than one would generally expect in such a remote location. The main section was an office space, with several tables, covered in maps, books, papers and various artifacts in addition to laptops and cameras. There were two smaller rooms of the main, one a bathroom with a shower, the other a small sleeping area with a pair of bunk beds. In the shower Ben found the soap and shampoo used by the two scientists, and in the sleeping area there was a hamper with a few dirty clothes still inside.

GM It took only moments for the thugs that were tearing up the convenience store to go from a slight numerical advantage to only one left standing, as Crimson Tiger moved quickly to the next nearest man and methodically took him down, while another costumed individual dispatched the man that had been entering the back room and appeared in the doorway in his place. The remaining thug was now trapped in a corner of the store near some of the refrigerators, with no way out that would not take him much too close to one of the two heroes that had appeared. There as a brief moment of hesitation on the man's face before he tossed his baseball back to the side and put his hands up into the air. "I give up!" He stated simply.

Synapse "Thank you Kameron, a pleasure to meet you." Dee replied with a small smile to the student that had arrived to provide the tour of the campus, for the moment staying with a more formal tone. While the young man’s etiquette was not exactly expected, there was the fact that Claremont Academy did seem to draw some of its student body from beyond the United States. Headmistress Summers gave Kam a small smile before turning back to Muirne and Dee. "Well, you will be in good hands with Mr. Kingdom. We will have a chance to speak some more after the tour." She stated, giving Kam a small nod.

Synapse The car ride had taken the pair along the southern end of downtown Freedom City, crossing over the South River on the Pramas Bridge, from which Muirne had been able to spot the towering form of Sentry Statute which stood at the very eastern end of the peninsula on which downtown Freedom City sat. Across the river they had passed through the clearly affluent neighborhood of Bayview, with its large homes. Their destination was located in the foothills known as Bayview Heights, on a large private estate sounded by wooded acreage. As they slowly passed the grand front entrance of the school, Dee looked out the window and was reminded of the many schools her parents had sent her during her school years, schools she had often gotten herself thrown out of. But the Englishwoman put those thoughts behind her, remembering that the reasons Muirne would be coming here were very different than why her parents had shunted her off to the various boarding schools around England. Dee and Muirne exited their Uber at the main entrance, its central section vaguely resembling a castle gatehouse, and the wings that extended to either side very similar in style to old country estates in England. Waiting for the two inside the gatehouse was a woman in a finely tailored dark grey business suit with a high necked white blouse. Her raven black hair was pulled up into an elegant bun, away from her sharp features. Although she was in her late-forties, she had an athletic frame and stood with perfectly poised posture. "Good morning Lady Farrington, I am so pleased to finally meet you in person." The woman said as Dee and Muirne approached. "And you must be Muirne." She added, focusing her attention on the teenager. "I am Callie Summers, headmistress here at Claremont Academy." "A pleasure to finally meet you face-to-face as well Headmistress Summers." Dee responded, shifting to the more formal English manners she typically avoided using. "While I am sure there are many questions you both have about Claremont and the coursework here, I have arranged for a tour of the campus guided by one of our graduating Seniors that should help to address many of them." Headmistress Summers continued.
-
Synapse Dee looked over to Klara and then back to Muirne for a brief moment before focusing back on the holographic displays of the police files associated with the organizations Erick had been investigating. "It's decided then, the five of us for this operation." She stated with a small grin before becoming serious once more. "So, any strong leads yet on the source of this new super-drug?" She asked her fiancé. "Or do we just have to start working our way backwards and see what we can shake out of the branches?"
-
Synapse Dee Farrington had followed alongside Muirne after the pair had exited the British consulate in Freedom City, wearing a pair of dark sunglasses in addition to her more standard dress of dark jeans, a red T-shirt and black leather jacket. While she was more accustomed to the sights of the city, she still smiled at Muirne’' excitement in seeing the city for the first time. "Well, not right in the city, but near enough." The Englishwoman replied. When Muirne stopped and asked for help with her phone, Dee came up and looked down at the device with the teenager. Considering the redheaded teen had been born during the Dark Ages and had spent over 1,300 years in some form of suspended animation, it was not unsurprising that she still had some trouble with modern technology. All in all, Dee thought she had done a rather good job at learning to use some technology thus far. "Les see…well, the map function is trying to work out the best way for us to get there as it is some distance from here." Dee said with a small smile. "Rather than trying to figure out subways and buses today, there is a much easier way to get there." The Englishwoman continued as she pointed to a small icon on the screen. "We will just take an Uber."
