Veronica Danger "Well, it mainly ended up in a warehouse in Brazil because that is where it was defeated." Veronica replied with a small smile as the pair made their way to the parking lot. "There is an old Ace Danger book about the encounter, Ace Danger and the Terror of the Steel Titan, I think it is still being reprinted." "But it is unlikely the original builder is involved. Her name was Dr. Mulher Morcego and she perished in the summer of 1941 when her dirigible crashed in the South Atlantic." Veronica then continued. "She built the Centuritron back in 1940 and was trying to use it drive out all foreign influence from Brazil, which was how my great grandfather and great uncle encounter the robot." "It is about twenty feet tall, built of steel and iron, with an internal electoral charge that was original a component of a hydroelectric dam. It was able to fly and was tough enough to withstand punches from Centurion. They ultimately defeated by Centurion distracting it while my great grandfather removed the internal power source. From everything I have ever heard or read about the robot, if it is operational, it is likely being controlled by radio." The pair reached the parking lot and Veroncia walked up to a rather high-tech looking motorcycle as she took off one of her bracelets covered in small silver symbols. "So, you ready?" The teenage Danger asked as she began removing some of the silver symbols.

OOC for THIS thread. Veronica will set her variable pool in her amulet to: +8 ranks Kn: History (up to 13 ranks (+17)); +8 ranks Drive (up to +12 (+16)); +8 ranks Pilot (up to +11 (+5)) Veronica will see if she can remember any of the details that Felix is asking about (assuming she gets the +4 bonus to her Kn: History check for Eidetic Memory, for a +19 (as I think this caps out skill ranks before the full bonus applies as a PL 10)). She gets a 32 on her check.

Synapse Dee let out a small sigh as Erick mentioned Agnes. It had been some time since their friend and teammate had disappeared in Freedom City during the most recent Terminus invasion, and despite the best efforts of the couple, and the Ministry of Powers, they still had no clear leads on what might have happened to Agnes. When Erick mentioned the possibility of homeschooling, the Englishwoman laughed slightly. "Oh, that would certainly rile my parents. As appealing as that might be, I am not sure I want to start using our child as a pawn in my attempts to aggravate them." But then Erick turned the conversation to a possible place where Muirne could go for school that would help her in acclimating to the modern world. "Hmm, do tell?" Dee said as she sat the tablet down once more to focus on Erick.
-
Synapse Dee shot Erick a stern look at his argument with VERA. "As if any off the shelf AI could handle half of what VERA does." She replied before looking over to Muirne and giving the teen a small smile. "He is fine. Just has trouble with technology sometimes." She replied as she moved over towards the central hub. "I am sure there is something we could find that needs to be done." She continued. Tapping one of the screens in front of her, Dee pulled up a holographic keyboard that formed in front of her as she began to type with one hand while touching the screen a couple more times while flicking active several holographic displays. "All systems seem to be operating fine VERA." The Englishwoman stated as she glanced at the displays before looking over the screen in front of her towards her fiancé. "So, is there something in particular you are working on?"

Veronica Danger The two men watched in a bit of bewilderment the group of teenagers that had suddenly appeared in front of them. But then they quacking recovered, giving a small bow to the group and one of them focusing on Veronica. "Welcome Ms. Danger, we are very glad to have the help of yourself and your allies." When Octoman moved forward and asked about articles of clothing that belonged to the missing scientists, the two men had a momentary look of confusion. "Some of their clothing?" One asked with a slightly uncertain look. Veronica gave a small smile as she gave a dismissive wave of her hand. "Its fine, it actually could help us in locating the two doctors more quickly. So how about we make our way down to the camp and you can see what can be located and provide us with any other information you might have." The two men nodded and turned to lead the group of Claremont students back across the dunes that separated them from the campsite. The area where the camp was located was more rocky than sand dunes, and the hillsides to the west of the camp were rockier still. The camp was a collection of more typical heavy canvas tents and a number of rectangular cargo shipping containers which had been refurbished into living quarters, office space and one that appeared to be a kitchen. Each of the refurbished containers had its own set of solar panels on its roof. There were a number of other individuals in the camp, who seemed in the process of waking up and having breakfast. "The missing doctors shared that pod." One of the guides stated, pointing to one of the refurbished cargo containers. He then turned to face the Veronica and the other Claremont students. "Doctor Schnider and Doctor Warren set off into the foothills two days ago to look for likely spots to expand our excavation." The man stated, indicating the hills that extended towards the towering mountains to the west. "When they did not return by mid-afternoon, several of us went up to look for them, but found nothing. When our search the next morning similarly found no trace we contacted Danger International and were told you would be coming to assist." Veronica nodded as she looked at the man and then some of the other gathered workers. "Thank you, we have it from here. Please continue with whatever work Doctor Schnider and Doctor Warren had you doing prior to their disappearance." She stated. The teenage Danger then looked over to her teammates. "Okay, see if there is anything useful in the pod they shared." She stated, focusing on Octoman as she spoke.

Synapse Dee had started the engine of the sports car as Muirne stowed her bag, the already powerful engine had been fine-tuned by the Englishwoman for even greater performance. Once Murine was in with her seatbelt on, Dee pulled out of the driveway and maneuvered onto the road as she started off towards Whitehall. Due to the typical London traffic, Dee was never really able to shift into higher gear, but that did not stop her from weaving in and out of traffic as much as she could. A short while later, they had parked at a Ministry car port thanks to Dee’s clearance and made their way down into the underground tunnel that lead to the Haven. The tunnel was rather barren and dimly lit, but eventually led to a huge metal door at its end, a massive letter V engraved upon it. Above the pair was the faintest sound of the Thames flowing overhead. As the pair approached the massive door sensors located to either side activated, lasers shining in the dim light to scan each of them. "Greetings Dee Farrington, aka Synapse." Spoke a mechanical sounding voice. "Second individual identified, Muirne Sceadusangere. Please confirm secondary individual's clearance Synapse." "Good morning VERA." Dee said with a small smile as she looked at the massive door. "Clearance is verified." "Welcome Muirne Sceadusangere." The AI responded, as the massive door began to slide open. Beyond the massive door was the large, towering central hub of the Haven, with austere décor of arched metal that formed a tall dome. Along the circular outer wall were several open doorways, extending outward like spokes to other various chambers. At the center of the hub was a massive plated column covered with computers and monitors, all flickering away as they monitored a multitude of information sources.

The guy standing near the door goes down. The others are too spread out for a Takedown attack. That ends Mali's surprise action. So initiative rolls for everyone please. (You can make an IC post taking the guy with the gun down Thunder)

Veronica Danger Veronica was glad to see Felix brighten up some at the mention of a mission. She gave him a sympathetic smile at his mention of his last serious mission. "Yeah, I heard about some of that from Pan and Adam. Sounds like it was pretty tense." "As for what I have in mind, I can fill you in on the way to the student parking lot. I am on something of a clock." The teenage Danger stated with a smile as she started walking. "So, about seventy years ago, my great grandfather and great uncle, along with some other members of the Jungle Patrol, teamed up with Centurion to stop a giant robot cast in Centurion's image. After they stopped it and shut it down, it ended up in a Danger International warehouse, where it has sat for the last seven decades. For some reason, it has reactivated and is causing a bit of a mess down in Brazil." "So, you and I are going to go down there and see what is going on and try to stop this thing again. Hopefully before the Brazilian government starts sticking their nose too deep in to how this thing ended up there."

Synapse Dee had gotten up from the sofa when Muirne had gone to change and gather her equipment, moving over to one of the windows and looking out at the street below as she continued her mental communication with Erick. She smile slightly at his mention of a possible alternative destination for the teenage. Very funny, that would be sure to cheer her up. She replied. No, Claremont it is, and it will be good for her. See you shortly. When Muirne came out with her things the Englishwoman turned to face her. "Well, off we go then." She replied with a smile before leading the teen out of the apartment. A short trip down the stairs and they were back outside and over to Dee’ parked sports car. Popping open the trunk of the car, Dee started toward the driver’s seat. "Just stow that bag in the boot and we will be off." She stated as she climbed behind the wheel.
-
Synapse Dee grinned at Murine's sudden excitement about going out to the Haven. At the girl's question, the Englishwoman did not hesitate to respond, "normal clothes is fine for the trip there. Bring your other things, if need, you can change at the Haven." "So, go change and gather your things then." She stated with a gesture towards the bedroom and a wide smile. It was good to see the teen's sprits brighten. We are on our way love. Dee mentally transmitted to Erick Slone via the mental connection the pair had. She is receptive to the idea of going to Claremont as well.
-
No worries on all the speech color Heri, it does help tell it apart. Are you two planning on having your characters interact a bit? I can hold off on anything else from me if you want to.
-
Synapse "Thank you." Dee responded to Muirne's congratulations. "I appreciate the offer, we might take you up on that, but hopefully it while be awhile before it gets too hard for me to do much." The Englishwoman then listened closely as the teen expressed her interest in working with Vanguard over the next few months, and her reasons for wanting to. She felt a bit of conflicted feelings about the request, on one hand wanting to tell the teenager to enjoy her new opportunity to live life as a normal teen for awhile, but she could also understand Muirne's other points about wanting to be able to help and feeling she was just sitting on the sidelines. "You have been through a lot." She replied in a sympathetic tone, leaning forward to try to be able to meet the teen’s downcast eyes. "Both in the past and now waking up to a vastly changed world. You have made great progress in the last few months and going to Claremont will certainly help that process even more. I understand the desire to want to help, but no one would think any less of you if you just wanted to be normal for awhile." The older woman then leaned back once more, her tone getting more lighthearted as she gave the teen a mischievous grin. "But that said, I don't think we would turn away a set of helping hands. So, these books will hold till another day. You feeling up to getting out of here for a bit?" "Erick should be in the Haven right now, some of the others might be as well, we could pop by and see if anything is up."
-
Synapse As she continued her mental conversation with Lulu from across the room, Dee gave Erick a slightly look as he excused himself for the moment and mentioned checking on the wine. That’s right, just rub it in She mentally chided him through their mental connection. All the while she remained focused on Klara and Jim next to her, smiling as Klara's offered hugged was accepted. At the other woman's mention of the antics of the gathered teenagers, Dee glanced back over at the groups of teens as she replied, "well, you don't have to try to ignore some of the thoughts they practically scream at you." "But, Erick and I were talking the other day. We think it might be a good idea to send Muirne to Claremont in the Autumn." She stated, looking up at Klara.

Synapse "I am always willing to help with your studies." Dee responded as she glanced briefly at the mathematics book before turning back to Muirne. At the teen's question, the Englishwoman briefly considered another reminder that there was no need for formal titles, but chose to let it go for the moment. "Erick and I are both very good." She replied instead. "In fact, that sort of leads to some things I wanted to talk to you about." Sitting up, the Englishwoman turned so she was facing the teen a bit more directly. "First, Erick and I shared this with Joseph and Klara shortly after our recent mission to Canada, I am pregnant, the baby is due in about eight months." "Erick and I have also been talking, there is a school in Freedom City that is exclusively for teenagers with powers and other unusual abilities." Dee then continued. "We think it might be good for you to attend the school in the autumn." "It would be a chance for you to be among others your own age in a safe place where your abilities would not make you stand out too much. In addition to helping you acclimate more to life in this century, the school should be able to help you gain better control over your transformations. You will be able to return to London during the longer breaks and over the summer."
-
Synapse "That is good to hear." Dee responded when Muirne mentioned having not transformed into her shadow form in awhile. The teenager's shadow form was very powerful, but she was unable to control when she transformed and then was often stuck in that form for hours at a time. Dee hoped that with time the teen would be able to obtain better control of the transformations, but for now she would take what good news there was. "I understand your concerns about not wanting to lose control in public, but you cannot hide yourself away from the world forever." She added with a slightly concerned tone. "But hopefully in time you will feel more confident to be out in public." Taking a seat on the sofa, the Englishwoman shook her head slightly at the offer of something to drink. "Thank you, I am fine." She replied as she looked at the stack of books on the coffee table and considered Muirne's comments about her studies. "What exactly is the problem with the math?" Dee asked as she looked back over towards the kitchen. "We could take a look together and I can see if I can help."

Beginners Guide to the Cities of M&M
Thevshi replied to Tiffany Korta's topic in The Lighthouse: Catchphrase!
As Dok said, either an entry for CoVic or just mentioning it in the space section. As I mentioned in the guide section on Discord, drop the mention of the alien races being envious of humanity. -
Chelsea, London, England Wednesday, March 24, 2020 10:32 AM local time Dee Farrington guided her grey Aston Martin down the streets of London on this overcast morning. She was on her way to the apartment she owned in the area to check up on the time displaced teenage girl that was staying there currently. The Englishwoman had taken a bit of the long way round getting to the apartment, wanting to get ever little extra bit of time behind the wheel of her sports car before she got too far along to be able to be able to drive it. She was dressed in her typical attire, jeans, a T-shirt, black leather jacket and a pair of Doc Marin boots. Her shoulder length black hair was pulled back in a ponytail, though a few locks hung lose along one side of her face, including one dyed green. Not being able to truly justify any more delay, Dee pulled her car into her reserved car port. Climbing out, she made her way over to the front door, keying the intercom next to the gate for her apartment. "Muirne, its Dee, I will be up in a moment." Letting herself in, three flights of stairs later (the doctors said it was good to continue to get regular exercise) and Dee was at the door to her apartment. Opening the door, she made her way into the living room. "Morning Muirne. How you doing today?" She asked as she entered.

Paradigm "We are traveling through a wormhole network from a wormhole that was at the edge of the Sol system to the Kestevan system, where CoVic Station is located." Paradigm said in response to Dio's questions. "And there will be plenty of room for you on the station." She added with a small smile. As she spoke, the Naram looked over towards the viewing window in the lounge and the seeming tunnel of multicolored bright light mixed with shadowy darkness. Suddenly, the bright light seemed to pull back and darkness momentarily filled the window, only to be replaced with a brightly glowing nebula cloud that stretched as far as could be seen from the window. Amidst the nebula was a small, brightly shinning blue point of light that seemed far different than any star. Against this backdrop the gathered Claremont notice numerous shapes silhouetted against the brightly glowing gases of the nebula. As the Devotion drew near one, they realized it was a massive space ship that looked like some sort of cargo vessel. As their eyes adjusted to the new light the teens saw dozens of starships of various shapes and sizes that filled the space out in front of them. And out past the multitude of space craft, there was a massive black form that stood out against the glowing nebula cloud. It was somewhat ominous in appearance, and as they drew closer it was quickly apparent it was easily the size of a moon at least, and appeared entirely made of some dull metal.

Synapse Dee smiled as Erick mentioned her being the one to tell VERA. "Yeah, I should probably handle that soon, as who knows when VERA might detect something that tips her off and gets angry I had not told her sooner." She paused a moment as he mentioned the home in Freedom City, considering something before she spoke up again. "We should probably tell the rest of the team before I start to show as well. Just....I don't want to be treated like glass or anything, though clearly things will change when I am further along." The Englishwoman smirked as Erick mentioned that there would still be fun, including possibly sky diving. But she knew that could well be one of the hardest adjustments she might face over the course of the next eight months. "They are PTAs here as well." She replied. "Though, if my parents have their way, any grandchild of theirs will go to a school with a Board of Governors." "At least we have had a small preview of the teen years?" She said with a grin, referring to Muirne, the time displaced teenager that Vanguard had taken responsibility for about six months ago. The teen had mainly stayed with her and Erick for the first couple months, as she worked on learning modern English and just some of the basics of navigating the Twenty-First Century. Now she mostly stayed in the apartment Dee still owned in London, with the various members of Vanguard checking in on her regularly. "Of course, she was pretty much considered an adult in her time period, so…"

Freedom City University Campus The North End, Freedom City, New Jersey Friday March 20, 2020, 12:24 PM The main quad of the FCU campus was more crowded that it had been in some months. But it was of little surprise that so many students had taken the opportunity to get outside for a bit in the middle of the day. The temperature had reached in the high-60s on this bright sunny day, though was supposed to drop overnight. Casey Blankenship was seated with several of her sorority sisters at a spot toward the center of the quad. Several of Casey's friends where chatting about how great that the weather would soon be getting warmer and discussing possible plans for renting a place somewhere along the Jersey Shore for Spring Break. Elsewhere on the quad, Nicholas Starkey emerged from the Student Union Building, his lunch in hand as he began scanning the quad for an open spot to eat, or a friendly face to join for lunch.

Veronica Danger Veronica could sense a bit of the distraction in Felix's tone, but did not know him well enough to easily gauge whether she should inquire a bit deeper about what might be troubling him. So, she gave a small nod as he talked about visiting his old home. "I used to come visit Danger Manor here in Freedom City and my parents' home in the south of France between our travels. While I enjoyed seeing family during the visits here, I generally preferred being out in the field, exploring new places and meeting new people." The teenage Danger's own smile broadened slightly as he asked how she was. "I am…good, mostly, but have a bit of problem, which might be something to help with your spring malaise. You interested in a mission?"

Something not working with the build? I will try to get some comments for you today. There is a lot of formatting that could be fixed up in the meantime. -
Veronica Danger Veronica Danger was briskly walking across the Claremont campus after exiting the school gymnasium. "I am on it Prudence." The teenager said into her cellphone as she made her way along the path towards the gate to the dorms. "I am not sure how many members of my squad will be around right now given we are winding down for Spring Break." The attractive seventeen year old was in her typical daily attire, a pair of olive drab cargo shorts, a light grey T-shirt over which she wore thin linen Khaki shirt and a pair of well-worn hiking boots with thick socks. As was often the case, her long brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail and she had a necklace and several bracelets from which several dozen small silver charm-like objects hung. The teenage Danger paused a moment as her assistant on the other end responded. "Well, if I have to I will grab whomever I can find and get us to Brazil right away and…" Veronica paused mid-sentence as she spotted a lone figure standing in the nearby gardens of the school. "One second, I think I have found the perfect solution. I will call you back." Hanging up the call, Veronica slipped her cellphone into a pocket of her cargo shorts as she started over toward the figure. "Hi Felix, how are you today?" She called out as she drew closer to the figure, a friendly smile on her face.
