Battlesuit and other questions (potentially ongoing)
Thevshi replied to Spacefurry's topic in Character Building
Hmm, not sure I fully understand your question? For a melee Damage attack, 1 PP gives you Mighty, which lets you add all your Strength bonus to the attack, regardless how much that bonus is. So, Damage 4 (Mighty) with a STR of 20 (+5 bonus) is a +9 damage attack, the Mighty only costing 1 PP. If you are adding Mighty to a Ranged Damage attack, it gets more expensive. For claws that are Damage 1 (Mighty, Innate) the cost is only 3 PP, 1 for 1 rank of Damage and then one for each feat. You do not have to buy Innate on the Strength bonus, the claws are what is Innate, not the strength making them more effective. In any event, if you normally increase your strength by spending points to increase the state, that is pretty much Innate already. If you say have the Enhanced Strength power, that is where you would by Innate if you did not want it to be able to be Nullified. Hope that makes sense? -
Battlesuit and other questions (potentially ongoing)
Thevshi replied to Spacefurry's topic in Character Building
Well, there is technically still a "Blast" power, but yeah, it is pretty much just Damage with the range increased from touch to ranged. You can do it either way. Telekinesis is also just Move Object, so can also be bought either way. And yes, you could do that, but then you would need to spend a point to buy Mighty (like for the example of the retractable blades you gave that only add feats to existing Str bonus damage in melee). I am pretty sure we have allowed people to just buy feats that get applied to normal strength bonus as their own power without the need for them to be a 0 rank strike or the like. -

Hello and welcome to the site! Be sure to check our house rules, we have made some changes to the standard 2e rules (including borrowing some things from 3e) As to your questions: The retractable blades would just be within the Device power of the battlesuit. If they are not changing the attack/damage of the character's normal melee but simply adding some extras/feats, it would just be whichever extras/feats you want purchased within the Device and the descriptor would be that it is retractable blades. Natural claws would be built as the Damage power (with Mighty, as is often the case), perhaps with the Innate feat. -
Bumping this back up for possible further discussion/consideration

Doktor'd, with some notes sent to Thev via Discord Okay, spend all Synapse’s unused PP (the first maxed character I have actually used all the PP for!) Goanna gets a 23 first go, so will reroll and gets the same thing again, but thanks to the reroll is a 33, so he is fine. He gets a 28 the second time, so that is a bruise. Per chat, Chelone used Extra Effort to make the shell for Thunderbird Selective so he can freely attack. Chelone will be fatigued at start of next round unless she spends a HP.

GM As the two teenagers were discussing possible plans for the evening, Lawrence made his way into the kitchen from one of the doorways that led to a hallway to several of the back rooms on the main floor as well as a second stairwell to the upper floor. The blond twelve year old was dressed in a pair of jeans and grey T-shirt. Only about four inches shorter than Lulu, Lawrence’s resemblance to his father was very clear and his fine features were starting the transition from cute to handsome. His bright blue eyes were the very image of his mother's. "Oh, hi Lulu. Good to see you again Adam." The pre-teen stated as he spotted the pair as he started towards the refrigerator.

Hey Bourbon, I apologize for the late response to your submission. Just a few small mechanical/style things for the sheet I am counting 57 skill points worth of skills, not 56. For powers, for your Plant Control Array, on the main line you should have in the parentheses that it has 24 active points and 3 Alt powers like so: Plant Control Array Rank 12 [27 PP] (24 Active Points; Feats: 3 Alt powers) (Plant growth/control) Otherwise, looking good!

Synapse "No, I am pretty certain Susan would want to hear the news from both of us." Dee responded with hardly a moment's hesitation. "So I will make arrangements for us to see her later in the week." When Erick went back to work on the crib, Dee had reached from where she sat to pick up the tablet once more. She was just about to start looking through some additional selections for the baby room when Erick mentioned their being responsible adults. The Englishwoman rolled her eyes as she let out a sigh. "I suppose your right," She admitted before a small grin came to her face. "That does not mean we cannot have some fun from time to time still. And we still have a bit of time before we have to start with the baby proofing of the house, and the Haven."

Synapse Dee managed to keep her mental connection to Lulu as her friend and teammate gave her and Erick a massive beat hug at the same time. "Ouch Klara." The Englishwoman said as she was lifted off the ground. "You know, some of us have ribs that can break if we don’t have our forcefields active or are wearing our body armor." Once back down on the ground, Dee took a deep breath, as she absentmindedly reached up, but not to rub a sore rib, but placing her hand momentarily on her stomach. Turing back she looked up at Klara with a small smile. "A pool? I suppose that could be arranged. And as for Bluebird and VERA meeting, their love gossip is exactly what worries me. We may never be able to get VERA to do anything again if she is always contacting Bluebird." "Oh, and I am forgetting, I imagine you recognize Coyote even without the costume?" Dee said, indicating the Canadian hero who had walked in with her and Erick. Even as the Englishwoman was chatting with her teammates and Coyote, she continued her mental communication with Lulu. Space? You have one up on me then dear, the closest I have ever gotten was helping protect some UNISON spacefighters so they would not be destroyed by the Communion before they were able to launch. The English psychic replied to the teenager. But I am glad you consider me a friendly voice, given how rather abruptly our last meeting went. I did not even get a chance to introduce you to my significant other then, something we can thankfully remedy today.

Synapse Dee would have rolled her eyes at their arrival being announced, but realized it was something of a necessary evil to help the young Powers present easily identify the various adults present. The Englishwoman gave Jim a small smile as he mentioned having their own entrance music. "I would probably be a bit embarrassed by how dated any that I might chose would be now." She replied before considering his question about trampoline wrestling. "I am not sure it is particularly common, space can be a bit of a premium for many, so they using up garden space for a trampoline is a bit less common." She replied as she stood off to one side with Jim and Erick looking out over the others gathered around the pool. As she scanned the room, Dee’s eyes fixed on a certain redheaded teenager standing near the pool. Well hello there Lulu Beaumont. Fancy running into you here. The Englishwoman mentally transmitted to the Claremont telepath.

Tsunami "It does sound like a possibility to pursue." Giang replied to Heroditus’ mention of the advantages of having a secure, hidden base of operations. "I will be sure to mention the idea to Thaelia and Temperance when next I speak with them." The Atlantean teen then turned to questions about her time at Claremont, which caused the Asian young woman to give a slight shrug. "From what I understand of things under Headmistress Summers, things were both similar and different when I was here. We did not have any official teams for training and study which I understand the Headmistress has introduced. Such things were much less….structured under her father, but somewhat similar groupings tended to form naturally among the students." "Overall I believe I adjusted well to being here. I was already well accustomed to a strict regime of training and study provided by my father’s agents that raised me, so I had little trouble adjusting to the academic and physical course here. Perhaps the area I was most unprepared for was interacting with my new peers, but thankfully that came somewhat naturally, in no small part due to those I tended to naturally gravitate towards. I tended to work with most of the same individuals in my…..extra circular activities, generally a group of connected friends that Thaelia and I made."

@RocketLord@Heritage @Dr Archeville @Thunder King Moving us ahead to the next morning. Feel free for one last post for the hanging out the prior evening before moving to the morning. Also, the help with visuals here is an image I found of the flydeck on Hemisphere (the ship I am basing Horizon on) and the large extended seats/beds near where they had dinner. That is what Veronica is lying on, plenty of room for everyone

Veronica Danger Veronica gave a small smile at Pan’s glowing fireflies trick. "Elizabeth used something similar when we were exploring the pyramid of Sanakht in Egypt over Spring Break, so looks like we have a few non-traditional light sources for once we are down there." The teenage Danger picked up her own glass at Pan's toast. "To adventure!" She replied with a wide grin. During the remainder of the meal the Claremont students and Danger International personnel engaged in various conversation as the Horizon sailed towards the site of the wreck. After dinner Veronica remained up on the flydeck for awhile. As the night grew darker those that had remained were treated to a dazzling array of stars that filled the sky, as well as the dark clouded mass of the spiral arm of the galaxy that stretched across the entire sky. Laying on her back on one of the long lounge seats in the center of the flydeck, Veronica did her best to point out various constellations among the vast number of stars that completely filled the sky. ______________________________________________________________________________ The next morning Lulu was awoken by a faint, almost rhythmical thumping noise that she more felt through the hull of the ship rather than actually heard. Glancing across the dimly lit room, she saw Veronica was not in her hammock. The sound seemed to be coming from the front of the vessel, just outside the window of the master cabin she and Veronica shared.

Synapse Dee had smirked slightly at Erick's comment about escorting her to the ball, but still took his offered arm anyway. They had not gotten very far when they ran into Coyote, now out of costume for the social gathering. The Englishwoman gave the Canadian hero a smile as he mentioned his plan being ruined. "No reason we cannot all arrive last together." She said in her refined English accent before glancing over at Erick at the overdressed comment. "He cannot help himself sometimes." She said before looking back over to Jim. "I am sure it is not too hard to place us outside of costume, but please, call me Dee." The Englishwoman added.

OOC for this thread. Okay, a new adventure for Green Team! Veronica has asked for their help in tracking down a pair of lost archeologists working at a remote Danger International dig site in western China. She would have warned everyone it would be pretty cold there, so they could dress appropriately. As they are teleporting from the DI offices in Freedom City, there would have been stuff available there if anyone needed anything. For the moment Veronica’s Magic Pool is: Teleport 10 (Extra: Accurate; Flaw: Long-range only; Feats: Progression 4 (x20 mass))

The Western edge of the Taklamaka Desert, at the foothills of the Pamir Mountains Western China Saturday March 7, 2020. 7:54 AM China Standard Time (CST) (6:54 PM on Friday March 6, 2020 in Freedom City, New Jersey) A cold winter's wind swept over the sands of the Taklamaka Desert, shifting some of the sand as it went. A pair of figures walked up a sand dune in the early morning light, the dark shapes of tents and other temporary structures down in an open space below them. Not far to the west, the snow-capped peaks of the Pamir Mountains rouse up into the sky over the dark foothills which lay between the mountains and the desert. <"Why did they say to come out here?"> One of the two men making their way up the sand dune asked in Pashto. The other man in the lead gave a slight shrug of his shoulders. <"They said a member of the Danger family would be arriving with some assistance to take over the search for Doctor Schneider and Doctor Warren. You have heard some of the stories of the Dangers, likely wants to make some sort of dramatic entrance."> The two men crested the rise of the dune and moved out onto a relatively flat expanse of sand amongst the dunes. <"Hopefully we will not have to wait too long."> Those words proved prophetic, as the pair were just starting to look about for some sign of the arrival of the help from Danger International when there was a bright flash of light and a group of individuals appeared a short distance away. The central figure release the hands of the individuals on either side of her and took a step forward. The two men saw an attractive seventeen year old girl dressed in dark khaki cargo pants and a light brown winter parka. She wore a pair of well-worn hiking boots, and her long brown hair was pulled back in a ponytail. "Good morning, I am Veronica Danger." The teenager said to the two men with a small smile.

Synapse That might help, maybe some ginger ale as well.> Dee mentally responded as she moved over to select something to wear before grabbing a quick shower. She smirked slightly at Erick mentioning this being a "black tie" affair. "If they are expecting black tie, then they will have to be sorely disappointed." She responded. "I fully intend to take every opportunity to wear jeans without elastic waists." She stated as she reached down to take Erick's hand and pull up right. "Now unless we want to turn fashionably late into unfashionably late we need to get moving, so it would be far more efficient for us both to get a shower at once." She stated with a slightly mischievous grin. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A short while later Dee was finishing getting dressed, the Englishwoman choosing a pair of black jeans, a black T-shirt and a Doc Martins. She had blow-dried her shoulder length black hair, a pair of green strips going down one side. "We ready?" She asked as she looked over to Erick.

Paradigm <"Perhaps it was inevitable,"> Amara responded to Eria’s comments about clashing with her teammates, <"but it does not always have to be so. I imagine with time any initial differences will come to mean less and less as new, shared experiences become of greater importance."> <"Now, we should probably join the rest of your classmates in the lounge for our arrival at CoVic Station."> The Naram paragon then added as she rouse up from the seat she had taken during her conversation with Eria. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Down in the lounge, Seresk turned to Davyd as he asked his questions. "Humanoids are extremely common in the galaxy, both two thousand years ago and at present. But sentient life does come in many forms and you should have the opportunity to see some aboard CoVic Station."

Synapse Dee Farrington emerged from the bathroom of one of the guestrooms where she and Erick Slone, Foreshadow II, had gone to rest a bit before the impromptu celebration for Vanguard's recent joint mission with True North. "I think this wave has passed." She said to Erick as she took a deep breath. "Thankfully Du Temps had some mouthwash in the guest bathroom." The Englishwoman was still wearing the medium grey and purple full bodysuit she wore as Synapse, a member of the English superteam Vanguard. For the moment she was not wearing her mask. I hope I can make it through this little gathering, considering I cannot bloody drink. She said to Erick through the mental link the pair shared.

Synapse Dee gave Erick one of her most charming smirks as he talked about letting her parents learn by way of a tabloid photo. "Easy enough for you to say, you know my parents bloody adore you." She stated. "Your bank account more than assures that, and once they find out their first grandchild is on the way, they may well want to just adopt you." She paused a moment, then added, "But before we tell them I think Susan should be the first to learn." But then Erick made a slight change of topics, taking her hand as he spoke. Dee focused on his eyes, taking a small breath of her own. "You once said you felt like you took home gold from Sochi. I think we both found all we were ever looking for there." She replied as she leaned in close to kiss Erick. You bloody well know my answer! She communicated over the pairs mental connection as they kissed.

Not bothering to check against the feint, as your roll hits either way. Goanna does get a 22 for his reflex save, so manages to avoid the ink. Chelone is up! @Electra

Synapse Something of a scowl came to Dee's face as Erick mentioned some of their more troublesome enemies that, despite their best efforts, were still at large and still very dangerous. "We are hardly the first Powers to have a child." She stated, although there was a hint of concern in her tone, at least partially due to the risks Erick often took on his many nightly forays. But that soon passed as Erick mentioned them facing this together and small smile returned to her face. The smile widened as he asked about the possibility of getting morning sickness as well through their psychic link. "That would be poetically fitting, but no, I do not believe that you have to worry about that." Her smile faded slightly as she took a deep breath. "You know, we probably cannot wait too much longer before we have to tell my parents and brother."
