Okay, the power itself is good, but you do have to say what would be the "reasonably common effect" that would be able to hit you even while Insubstantial. Based off of your discriptors, I'd say something like light attacks or the old magic standby would work. Just be sure to put that in next to the power. Beyond that, however, everything seems to add up except for your abilities. You only spent 22 points there. The 8 substracts 2 from the total.

Mr. Fantastic's Fantastic Drawings Thread
Veiled Malice replied to Mr. Fantastic's topic in Off-Panel
The only real problem I had with your previous works was the odd use of shadows. It seemed to be off considering the light sources in the pictures. However, you've certainly come a loooong ways since then. I'll be waiting to see how the coloring turns out. -
Yeah, but getting owned in a single hit tends to cut down on the fun a bit. Raising it is not required, obviously, but I would highly recommend it. Also, I'm going to have to talk to the GMs about allowing an reactionary Insubstantial power.
-
I don't see why not, but remember, we don't allow Continuous mental effects here. It's a "save or die" situation, and we like to remove as many of those as possible from a potiental PvP board.
-
I don't have my books on me at the moment, but I'm pretty sure that "Reaction" level Insubstantial won't be allowed here. Also, a toughness of 1 is going to get her in a lot of trouble. All someone has to do is burn an HP to get a temporary "Affects Insubtanial" feat on an attack and she'll drop like a rock. You might want to bump that up a bit.

And so it was that Veiled Malice did transfer the page over to the character building section. :D

I refuse - on the basis of the fact that I wins - to believe you were so forward thinking as to obfuscate Nyrath's gender with counter-intuitive wordplays. Though schools in Sweden are far more advanced than their counterparts in the United States, (they'd pretty much have to be) you forgot to take into account my natural paranoia and cryptographic teachings from an institute of higher learning! Take that, "Teacher's Son!" :P
-
Him! Ha! Nyrath's gender has been revealed through a combination of inattentive compatriots and dutiful evidence gathering! I wins! :harley:

Well, we do have a definite shortage of mentalists, primarily because of the potiental for abuse inheirent when some extras - especially Continious - are applied. The vanilla powers are fine, however. I'll direct you to our character guidelines, which is here. Most of the questions you'll have can be answered there. As for ways around them, I did outline one of the things we don't allow here. We are pretty strict about character submissions, so there are very few "workarounds" we don't catch. I don't think that's what you're asking, though. Anyway, don't be afraid to ask questions!

Indeed, welcome! Nice avatar, by the way. What's it from? Is that Elfen Lied?

Feh. You're assuming that DC won't use some hackneyed plot device to bring him back at some point, voiding the grand sacrifice Conner made. Honestly, he was one of the best written characters in the current DCU because of the changes he'd gone through over the years. And it's because of that I hope the guy stays dead instead of having some wannabe writer cook up yet another intellectually insulting situation in which he returns from the grave. (Jason Todd, anyone?)

Freaking finally! Alright, new post up. Thanks for your patience on this. BTW, did you get the job? Or do you not know yet?

"It's the same everywhere," Robert said. "They're replacing people who have the most influence, now and in the future. They've already gotten the chief of police and half a dozen politicians. Now they're working on heads of industry. That's why he was at North Bay Academy today. He's..." Before Velocity could inquire about whom "they" or "he" was, the noise of footsteps on the catwalk made her and Robert turn to look. Robert instantly paled, and began slowly backpedaling towards the control room, murmuring, "Oh no..." under his breath. There, coming across the metal grating, was Johnny Rocket - but at the same time, Velocity knew it wasn't him. The face was the same from the pictures she had seen of the man, but the yellow tracksuit that was his trademark had made a stark transformation into a jet black version of the same design. “Well, well, well, what do we have here?†he drawled slowly, a leer out of character for a homosexual man crossing his face. “Now that is a very interesting costume. I like the checkerboards. Very…†his leer turned into a full-on wolfish grin. “… alluring.†His gaze flicked over to the steadily retreating Robert. “And you have been a very bad boy, Mr. Luciano. Filling this poor girl’s head with the inconsequential. I thought you were a team player, kid. Guess I was wrong.â€Â

Sounds good to me. Here's hoping he gets back soon! :)

It just didn't seem to be nessessary. You could do it, certainly, but why? There's no benefit, and I usually only see Alternate Forms Or Devices in Containers.

Speaking of clarity, do you know what I just wrote in the IC section? Because I don't. I'm just thinking Daisuke's very excited, so that's eating into his speech patterns some.
-
"Yeah, yeah that's right!" Daisuke said excitedly. This was great! He'd finally get to see onii-chan again! "But he's all metally and stuff, like me, but he's more like a robot. But don't worry, he's not actually robot. He just looks like one when he looks like that."
-
And it wasn't even a chat on the site! I headed him off as he was coming here! I'm just that awesome. ;)

Okay, I totally got a "Infinite Crisis"-type creepy vibe from my last post. Does Ren sound like Alexander Luthor to anyone else?
-
Ren whipped his head back and forth between the now seemingly crazy Icarus and the weeping Grim, completely without a clue of what had just happened. "Okay, everyone hold on!" he shouted. "Alright, first off, Icarus. Yes, it sucks that your dad died. That goes without saying. But we're more than thirty years in the future. He could have died from a heart attack or gotten hit by a bus in that amount of time! There's no guarantee that even if everything had gone well, you'd still have him in your life." Yes, he was giving up Icarus's identity, but at this point, Lynn had already done a relatively good job of doing the same thing. He then turned to Lynn and knelt down by her side. "This doesn't mean anything," he whispered to her, silently enough so that he couldn't be heard by anyone else. "All of this is a lie. This future wasn't meant to be, do you understand?" He placed a hand on the girl's back, trying to comfort her. "We'll go back, we'll fix all this. We'll make it all like it never happened." A smile creased his face. "Trust me."
-
Well, it's workin', ain't it? But thanks for the boost. I seriously didn't know how we were going to get on with my proposed course of action. It's not like Nanowire advertises, and it'd be weird if we just happened to stumble across him walking around downtown. Oh, and the toy is actually Dale's. He brought it out of his toybox, remember? :)

"I..." Daisuke's excitement quickly drained away as he realized, "I don't know. He... he didn't tell me." The metal boy sat down heavily, causing the treehouse to creak ominously. "Sorry," he said in embarrassment. "But we have to find him!" Petulance filled his voice now, underlining his desire to meet up with his hero. "Can't you do some magic, check a crystal ball or something? I mean, you're a magical girl!"
-
"Well, I can tell you I'm not a huge fan of your world from what I've seen so far," Ren stated simply. "So you can count on me to do whatever I can to change it. Where do we start?" He looked back to Lynn as she asked about the Parkers. Whatever her connection to them was, she seemed to be rather agitated about it.

Sorry this has gone unupdated for so long, but I'm currently experiencing a dearth of creative juice. This will not go on much longer, or I'll eat my own head. (How, I have no idea, but you can tell I'm grasping at straws writing-wise.)
