  1. Ren simply grumbled and continued forwards as Icarus gave an unsatisfying answer to his question. He still had no idea what was going on here, and the more he thought about it, the more sure he was that Icarus was behind the changes to the timestream. The fact that Foreshadow, a hero that apparently saw the future, had come to meet them, only hammered that suspicion home. And all of a sudden, the world didn't seem so bleak anymore. Ren turned towards Lynn and whispered, "Thanks," almost under his breath. Too quiet for any normal ears to hear, but with what he'd learned about Lynn, plenty loud enough for her. Lynn's concern about his well-being was touching, and he made a mental note to do something nice for her later. Maybe like take her out somewhere... A progressive scan filter snapped into place over Ren's eyes, allowing him to see in the dark just as easily as a normal person would in daylight. He stepped up to the hole where Lynn waited for him and motioned ahead with an exaggerated sweep of his arm and a wry smile. "After you, m'lady."
  2. Damn, I forgot you could do that. Oh well, rather than be difficult and say, "No, you gotta solve my puzzle!" I'll let that stand as another instance of the "Indiana Jones" way of solving problems. :)
  3. And I welcome you as well, good sir! Hope your stay here is eventful! ...The Reactionary? :? Is he on NPR? :)
  4. Daisuke frowned from underneath his hiding place. The man was obviously just a big bully, pushing people smaller than him around. He didn't like it, but what could he do? He wasn't big... or... strong? Wait a minute... A light suddenly switched on above Daisuke's head as what should have occurred to him long ago finally did. He might not be big, but he was strong! If the guy got rough, he could make him stop, no problem! With that thought settling warmly in the forefront of his mind, Daisuke began hoping the guy would start something, just so he could stop him. Surely the magical girl would be impressed by that!
  5. Well, that's a problem. Wasn't her family the people we were going to hit up for our base of operations? Without her, we're somewhat stuck for a direction to go in.
  6. Np, Cos. Real life gets in the way. Believe me, I sympathize. Now, back to what matters! Could Ren make it to the kitchen in a single move, or at least get close? It's not important for him to take a door; he could dive over the burners of a stove for all they're likely to harm him. He just needs to get to a place with a lot of machinery, and that seems to be the likeliest area.
  7. Thanks, Cos. This is a more "hardcore" Nanowire than the guy I'm trying to pass off as a villain in his other threads, so expect more of the same. :)
  8. ...And seemingly for no reason, Cos suddenly burst into flames the next morning... But seriously, thanks, Quiett.
  9. Nanowire rocked back slightly from the impact of the 'bot, but other than that, he was fine. His ultradense armor warded off the all of the damage. But what the thing had said afterwards... "You're going to assimilate me?" as frightening as the prospect was, Nanowire couldn't help but laugh. "You're going to assimilate ME?! You pathetic piece of space trash!" He cocked back with a powerful blow, and leveled it at the menacing 'bot. "I'm going to rip you apart at the seams, you half-wrought scrapheap!" he roared at the top of his synthetic lungs.

  11. You are taking pictures of this, right? I wanna see some tears after a character gets torn apart.

  13. Well, character death isn't really something that we deal with a lot here, (it's fairly four-color, non-lethal attacks) but I can understand why you'd want to have a backup plan, if only to point to it and say, "Ha ha, it doesn't matter if you kill me, I'll simply come back later to haunt you again!" That said, I would be fine with the first option. Triggered does not specifically say you need to be able to take an action in order to have it go off, and what you're talking about would happen so rarely (hopefully) and shouldn't disrupt play balance in any way. So unless anyone says different, I think you can go ahead and put that in.

  15. I like how you say that people confuse your gender, then you don't actually say what that gender is. In any case, welcome, good... hermaphrodite?

  17. Ren nearly jumped in surprise as the man detached from... somewhere... and spoke to them. The shock had just worn off when Icarus actually started following the guy! Did he know him somehow? "Hey, wait a minute!" he hissed urgently as he followed after them. "Who are you? How did you know we'd be here?"

  19. Yes, Dr. Archeville! Give into the power! Give in to the REF SIDE OF THE FORCE! *Ahem* Welcome, both of you.

  21. Was that last attack Penetrating? Because unless it was, Nanowire's impervious toughness will shrug off a +9 damage effect. It might be better if it was, though, otherwise he's just going to get knocked around a bit by the little guys. :)

  23. The helicopter did provide the impetus to move for Ren. But as he moved after Icarus (and presumably Grim) he couldn't help but feel more and more anxious about his surroundings. This was not the Freedom City he left, not by a long shot. Something in the past, something fundamental, had changed, and Ren was betting Icarus was responsible for it. He slid into the alleyway behind the armored man and hugged the wall, staying as far away from the searchlights as possible.

  25. It's on the wall. The pod has a door, which is open, but in order to get into the next room, you need to get the sealed hatch open. I fixed the post. Sorry about that.
