  1. Jackson seemed a little bit out of it at first, but he soon regained some semblance of awareness after he recognized Velocity's distinctive checkerboard costume. "Wait, you're Velocity..." he said in awe. His words were a little slurred, and sounded like they were coming from far away. Jackson was clearly concussed, if only slightly. "Yeah, we... we took the pills... the ones from the guy... but he said they were experimental..." Jackson stared off into space for a couple moments, apparently having forgot that he had been speaking. In the distance, Velocity could hear police and ambulance's sirens wailing. They were getting close. With a quick look, she also confirmed that the two would-be kidnappers weren't going to be talking anytime soon. Both had bashed their heads on whatever had been handy - the steering wheel for the driver, the metal frame for the passenger - and were unconscious but breathing. All of a sudden, Jackson recovered his wits and grabbed onto Velocity's arm. "You have to help the other guys!" he pleaded, eyes wide and desperate. "They'll friggin' disappear them if you don't!"
  2. The clustering people cleared away from the van quickly once asked, and everyone waited for something to happen. At first, there wasn't much movement. That was to be expected, really. The crash had been rather violent, and it would be surprising if the two men were moving about much. Eventually, though, the side door - now on top, due to the van's positioning - slid open. Velocity immediately went on the defensive, just in case one of the men had ideas about running or fighting. But instead of the kidnappers, Jackson Sinclair, dazed and slightly bloody, crawled up out of the van.

  8. The van bearing her quarry had pulled ahead of Velocity, as due to her concern for innocent people, she had to hang back a bit to get these psychos to calm down a bit. But one way or another, this chase was going to end soon. Even with the roar of the wind and careening screech of car tires, she could hear that something was very wrong with the van itself. Pushing the poor vehicle as fast and as hard as they had been, it was now on it's last legs. All she needed to do was keep up - simplicity in itself. A sudden jerk left took the van onto a sidestreet, and there it ran out of luck. It sideswiped a Oldsmobile pulling up to the intersection, slewed out into a line of parked cars, rammed two of them, then bounced off, running on only two wheels. Precariously positioned like that, it seemed like a slow motion video of a building falling over to Velocity as the van finally pitched over onto its side and skidded a last few feet before coming to a halt. A few people looked on in awe as the crash happened, and then started to make their way over to the vehicle, trying to see if they could help.

  14. "Er, sure, I guess." Renichi had never had beer before. The legal age in Japan was 19, so he supposed it wasn't from lack of legality, but more from lack of desire to drink. He knew from experience he could still taste things, but getting drunk was beyond his body's current ability to reproduce. One good thing, he supposed.

  17. Daisuke's horrifically cliche dialogue brought to you by every episode of Astro Boy ever. Oh, and getting dunked might cool him off some, so I say go for it.

  20. Okay, so you're a bit behind now. Just goes to show what good luck does for you, I guess. I'll get back to this tonight.

  23. Geez, two nat 20's on that run through. These guys want it, that's for sure. Okay, they are now using the Zig-Zag maneuver, this time in Close Terrain. There's no +2 for you here, and you have to make an initial obstacle roll with a DC of 18 if you roll a 17 or more. You use Acrobatics to avoid the obstacle if you fail.
