  1. I'm confused as to the advise Heavy offered that Nanowire didn't take - was that the "we have to get out of here as fast as possible" advise, or something else? Either way, I figured we should let the heroes get their licks in, otherwise they might have well not even shown up. :)

  3. Okay, Nanowrie nailed Valkyrie and drove her back five feet, as posted. The damage is DC 27 toughness, and the knockback came from her Impervious toughness plus half of what's left over, or 10, rounded down.

  6. Nanowire could only watch as the two heroic types moved in on Heavy, nailing him twice. They were going a lot faster than he had expected, which was some suprise, seeing as how he had expected them to move like quicksilver. The checkerboard-wearing girl was faster, no doubt about it, but looked fairly vulnerable otherwise. Using his stronger attacks might kill her, which meant that was out. Full plate was going to get the full brunt of his powers, though. "I'm sorry, but we can't give you a tour of the grounds!" Nanowire took a swing at her, drilling her with a punch that knocked her back five feet. At least he'd gotten more distance out of her than he'd been able to against Heavy.

  9. Cripes man, look out the frikkin' window. As for me, I'm currently dating a very signifcant other and am very happy with the arrangment. Any reason why your situation is "hopeless", Barnum? I used to think the same thing until I put myself out there a bit more, but I have to admit, I don't know the background on your difficulty.

  12. Okay, I'm confused. Who's going now?

  15. Oh, if you want to check out a good trade that's also very keeping with the times, pick up DMZ. It is very America-centric, but if you are at all familiar with the political situation here, it's a frighteningly plausible take on a worst case scenario in the country. That is, by the way, the only time I will mention politics. Besides that, the narritive is tight, to the point, and engaging, the art fits perfectly with the setting, and the characters actually inspire sympathy instead of nausea. Check it out.

  18. No, not at all. It's just that you said on the thread where you opened yourself up to helping characters along with their stories that you had already gotten enough replies, so I figured things stood as such until further notice. Besides, Nanowire needs some operating capital, which he'll get here, so that's already the first phase of his plan out of the way without having to bug you unduly. One thing: if the item involved is destructive, like a chemical or nuclear weapon, the NPC villain will have to lie to Nanowire to get him on board. He could say it's a better mousetrap, for all Nanowire will look into it, but if he knows something that bad is going down, he'll be more likely to join up with the heroes to stop it. Until then!

  21. Yeah, I've read Fray and liked it too. I was a bit more impressed by the art, though. Maybe it's just been a while since I took a look, but I thought it really had the whole "future distopia" thing down. Other than that, though, I haven't checked out Whedon's comic work. I am a big fan of Buffy and Angel, so I figure I should.

  24. Very funny, by the way. I guess until Barnum's schedule opens up a bit, Nanowire's in a bit of a holding pattern, so I can probably use him for this idea. Any special fetishes he should be aware of? :)
