Seeing Jos' nonreactive self, Sammy nudgeed him in the side with his elbow. Sammy quickly followed the nudge with a nod of his head towards the security guard indicating that he should continue with the ruse. 'Once we get inside, we can over power this guy and find the main security room. That should help us out a lot,' Sammy smiled dumbly at the security guard, trying to keep up the ruse that he didn't speak English.

Never saw it so don't know the line. But to be clear, the reason for the gloating is that I live in Japan. As a rule, we get movies from Hollywood about four to six months after they are released in the States. Of course there are exceptions where the release date worldwide is pretty much the same, I'm looking at you Harry Potter! So it is extremely rare that Japan would get a movie before the States, especially a big budget film like Transformers. I've got to gloat! :monkey:

Dark Star Again the hero shot out with his Graviton Beam, barely hitting this time. Unfortunately, the creature simply shrugs off the blast this time. It quick retaliates with its clubbed fist this time hitting but its arm moves harmlessly through Dark Star's insubstantial form. "Found it!" shouted out one of the clean shavened head men that was rummaging in the crates. His companions, which included 2 red-skinned men with large muscles moved over to help retrieve the item.

The room is quickly cleared as Pompadour is given time to rest. The final stage of tests were about to begin and from the look at the prepartions, it was going to be the most dangerous of all. "This last stage of tests will test your ability to withstand pain. You will be exposed to various conditions that will test the limits of your resilience. Our top medical staff will be on hand to help if things go wrong so do not fear. This is a controlled experiment and we will stop if it seems things seem to be too much for you. Good luck."

Today is the Day!!!!! I could be really evil, head out and catch the first showing, which is in an hour, come back and fill the board with my gloating words!!!   However, as a mature adult trying to save money, I will refrain from breaking my plans and waiting until the last show which is at 9:15pm. The late show is cheaper. When I get back, expect to hear various GLOAT, GLOAT, GLOAT, GLOAT  Don't worry, I like movies too much to give away any real spoilers, but I will gloat!

ARROWHAWK Arrowhawk is presently in a viewing room for parents worried about their children. A window allows him to see the situation in the nursery. The speaker seems to be one way for the parents to listen to the children play. A beam is across the door, the only exit he can see into the nursery. Buried under a pile of rubble, is the only adult in the room with the children. 4 of the kids are most likely old enough and calm enough to help with the five infants.
-
ARROWHAWK Arrowhawk quickly reached the side door and with one massive kick, broke the lock revealing a large room. The room was set up with a table and desk as if ready to greet people. The walls were covered in friendly children flavored wall paper, giving a clear indication that it was a part of the nursery in some way. A side door that led in the direction of the children's room was to the left. Not waiting to figure out the use of the room, Arrowhawk barreled through the new door only to come up short. The new room was smaller with a few chairs set up before a plate sized window. The window was open to the room beyond it where Arrow hawk could see a large beam had fallen in front of the door that lead out of the room. Toys and debris from the ceiling littered the floor. Arrowhawk's trained eye caught sight of five infants sitting in the debris, crying loudly with shock. Another three children obviously older were trying to gather the younger children and move them back from the small fires within the room. Near one large mass of debries, Arrowhawk could see a six year old holding the hand of someone buried under the rubble. The hand was moving, a clear sign that the owner was still alive and it seemed that whomever it was talking to the child. A quick look around the room he was in, allowed him to locate a speaker. Turning the device on, he could finally hear the children inside.

DARK STAR Dark Star came through the wall and could finally see the situation through his own eyes. The slumped form was none other than Hellbound, unconscious and unmoving. Standing nearby was the creature that placed him in that condition. It was human in shape but that was about the only thing that could be said about the creature. It had two arms but one was much larger than the other. The smaller appendage ended not in a hand, but in a club like mass. One of the creautre's legs seemed to pulse unsteadily as it moved at a sluggish gaint towards Hellbound. The other leg appeared normal but occasionally seemed to become translucent. Dark Star did not hesistate as he let loose a powerful and well placed Graviton Beam. The creature roared in pain. It turned its attention from Hellbound and shot out its club hand towards teh floating figure. The arm went wide burning a hole where it hit the wall. The sound of battle renewed, brought up the heads of the five men searching the crates. Seeing a new hero on the scene the worked harder.

"Unfortunately, we don't have a test like that," the Dr. says with a look at his workers. His eyes brighten slightly as a thought hits him. "It seems you have an unatural affect on people. Your next test will be the use of your attraction. Simply put, I want you to change the attitudes and emotions of the subjects before you. We'll measure the amount of time and power it takes to get a reaction. Good Luck." A group of people are brought out and sat on benches in four seperate groups. They wait with emtionless faces for Pompadour's presence.

We'll keep the roll but you'll need the intiative roll still. If they go before you, it may make that critical pointless.

Dr Williamson took notes on the results. "So there is a limit as to how much strength you can exert. Fascinating. Please rest. It looks like you could use it." The doctor walks Pompadour to the refreshment table. Workers begin dismantling the machine and preparing for the next stage of tests. "Tell me, Pompadour. Why do you want to act as a superhero here in Freedom City? There must be over fifty paranormals that operate in the city alone. You'd be just another one of the masses here."
-
Well then, before I proceed with the next stage, let me ask. What would you like tested? You have two more stages left and I have no problems gearing them towards something you'd like to be tested on. I do have an idea for the last two stages so if you don't have any ideas, I can use what I had planned.
-
Sure why not.
-
Dr. Williamson shook his head. "This is not a pass fail test. It is rather a test of your limitations so that you can have a better understanding of your own capabilities." Again a table was layed out with refreshments for him to use while the room was set up for the next set of tests. As he rested, Pompadour could see a machine being set up. It wasn'T long until the machine was in place and the doctor was calling him over. "This next test will be to test your strength. A simple Tug-of-war situation will be simulated. As you pull on the cord, an opposing pressure will be working against you. You have three attempts to overcome each of the four settings. We'll be looking for at least two wins on each setting to eliminate the luck factor. Good Luck."
-
STAGE THREE This stage will test Pompadour's strength. Roll your Str check against the listed DCs. Super strength can be used along with your hair. Again you get three attempts to beat the Listed DCs. Extra effort can be used at any time. An Hp can be used also, but once used it is gone for the rest of the thread. Part 1 -- Tough DC 15 Part 2 -- Challenging DC 20 Part 3 -- Formidable DC 25 Part 4 -- Heroic DC 30

HPs We each get one for the complication of holy ground and Ghost's inability to use his premate. Bel used an HP to make his reroll so that leaves us with the below HP totals for the moment: Belphegor 1 Ghost 2 DC 30 notice check for security measures beyond the path. Ghost, With his Probabilty set, that five is raised to a 7 for a total of a 20. Still not enough. Notice check DC 30 (1d20+13=18) K.Art or appraise Dc 15 for the fountain. Ghost K.Art DC 15 (1d20+5=10) Passing of the roll reveals that the angels are actually angels of death. A very old version of them that had been used as the basis of the present day cupid. We are basically a move action away from the door and the guard standing there. Due to his surprise at finding two people instead of one, the surprise round goes to us. :)

"Hang on a second," came the bored voice on the other end of the intercom. After a while, the voice came back on. "Okay. Come up to the house and you can use the phone. But stay on the path. If you go off the path, you'll set off the security alarms." The gate swung open on motorized gears, opening the way to the house. Just beyond the gate, the two villians could see a wide path that led directly to the house. Small bushes lined both sides of the path, acting much like a barrier to the bright green grass beyond. With just a short look between them, the two moved up the path to the large house. Now beyond the runed etched wall, the two can get a better look at the house. The house was large, with about three visible levels to it. A garage that is connected to the house sits on the east side of the building. A fountain with water shooting in the air sat in the center of a roundabout that marked the end of the path. The fountain consisted of baby angels shooting water from the end of bows. Three steps led up to the front door which opened slowly to reveal a man dressed in a security guard's uniform. He looked slightly surprised to see a second man with Jos. Sammy walked next to Jos, his eyes searching the area beyond the path for any signs of the security system that was in place. Though he looked hard he couldn't make out any telltale signs of hidden sensors or additional cameras. 'I wonder if he was just bluffing about the security system out here. I don'T see anything.' Not wanting to keep his companion in the dark, he whispered his lack of findings. "I don't see anything out here that could a part of this security system, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there. So, until we can get into the house and the main security office, it might be better to stay off the grass." As the two approached the fountain, Sammy took a look at the fountain for a moment trying to place the design but nothing really came to mind. "Looks like this guy is into cupid. Why in the world would he want a bunch of them in his driveway has got me." When the door opened, Sammy turned to keep his eyes on what was coming. The surprised look on the guard's face reminded Sammy of his own particular luck. 'Oh damn! I forgot he wouldn't see me at the gate through the cameras!' Sammy looked at Jos, hoping the demon would be quick enough to settle the guard's suspicion.

Yup. Just the top spot didn'T make sense to me.
