  1. January 21st, 2009 The door opened to the office and a woman dressed in a black business suit walked up to the large maghony desk and the large chair behind it. She stood still and waited for the man sitting in the chair to look up from the report he was reading. Minutes passed as she waited to be acknowledged. She knew her presence had registered upon the large man sitting in the chair but he continued to ignore her. If it had been anyone else, he would be dead for the slight. After five minutes had passed, the man closed the report and looked up. "Yes?" he say in his deep commanding voice. "I beleive I've finally located the coin, sir." she answered quickly. She knew that he didn't like uncertainty in a report but her art was not perfect. "And where would it be exactly, my dear?" he asked as he sat back in his chair. He placed his fingertips together and waited to hear more details on the matter. "I wish I could say, but all I could do is determine who was last in possession of the coin, a George Kapetelis, owner of Charon Ambulance Services. Whether he still has the coin in his possession, I was unable to determine but it is most certainly the best place to start looking." The man sat quietly regarding the beautiful woman standing before him. They have been working together for some time now and if there was one thing he had learned over the years was that her information was rarely wrong. Often times it was incomplete but still it served him well. "I believe its time to call in a debt, my dear. Contact the thief and demon. They should be just what is needed to retrieve that coin. Remember not to reveal too much about it. That demon is itching for an edge over us and I don't plan on giving him one. The less they know the better." "Yes, sir. At once." The woman bowed slightly and left the room. As she left the man smiled broadly. 'If they manage to steal that coin for me, it will strength my power base here in the city. And if they should fail, well, no one will know I was connected to them!'' The man began to laugh as he turned to look at the next report on his desk.
  2. Hellbound comes around the corner to see a building under attack from two heroes that he has worked with before. He easily makes out Scarab II as she floats up with her cape spread wide and enters through the large hole that was made from a street lamp. By a nearby boarded window, the biker can see Arrowhawk his bow ready as he pulls back unleashes an arrow that explodes when it hits the wooden boards covering the window. Dust and splinters fly everywhere from the explosion. Scarab entered the building, her cape billowing out behind her. She turned right, ignoring the stairs that lead up and entered the room where the five men were standing scared and confused. She easily sent out her power to yank the strange weapon from the one man and watched as the two melee thugs moved away from her closer to the window where Arrowhawk was. The two men with the submachine guns opened fire upon Scarab ,but they were still shell shocked and the bullets either passed by harmlessly or bounced off of her protective field. Without his weapon, the man before Scarab attempted to grab for his weapon but the hero easily pulled the weapon further out of his reach. Just then the world exploded as Arrowhawk's arrow exploded into the room. Dust and wood chips poured in, obstructing vision for a moment. The blast caught the two men by the window by surprise and they sprawled to the gorund as the concussive force overtook them. The only one in a position to see Arrowhawk's entrance was Scarab. The bowman entered with an ease that was rare in unpowered men. The two gun weilders turned slightly to see Arrowhawk's form emerge from the settling dust and smoke. "Oh carp! It's Arrowhawk!" one of the men said as he recognized the hero.

    [Turf Wars] Payback

Benjamin ducks behind a garbage can and keeps watch on the building for a while. It's cold but he easily ignores the chill. His patience however pays off as he sees a group of young men walking towards the Youth Center. The small group consisted of five men all dressed in the Southside C's colors. They were passing a bottle of what must have been whisky among themselves as well as carrying duffle bags. Benjamin's position was slightly too far for him to get any words of their conversation but he could see the eagerness in their steps. Instead of heading to the front door, the group stopped and looked around. Their eyes go over Benjamin's hiding place and their gaze stop. A quick word amongst them and one of the men began to walk directly back towards Benjamin's location.
  7. Here's teh thread for you. [Turf Wars] Payback
  8. January 6th, 2009: Chill Out stumbles on the intiation of a young Southside C. (Payback -- A Prologue) January 9th, 2009: The Southside C's finally make their move to exact a little bit of payback. Can the heroes stop things before they go too far? ([Turf Wars] Payback)
  9. Okay the Lincoln thread is finally up. Sorry for the delays. Right now there is Chill Out and ArmyofOne in Lincoln. Still plenty of room for others. Southside's thread is also still open for players.

    [Turf Wars] Payback

ArmyofOne Benjamin looked up at the street signed. G Street. Strange name for a street name but then again Freedom was full of strange things. It was one of the first time for Benjamin to enter Lincoln. Until recently, the hero had kept his heroic duties to more safe areas, but a recent encounter with a gang led him to Lincoln. It seemed that the Southside C's were out to get some payback on the guy running the Youth Center. teh Lincoln Youth Center was only a few more buildings down the street from his location. He had a good view of the area and could make out the lone car sitting before the building. The windows were all dark which was normal for this time of night but his information had said whatever was going to go down it was going to happen around ten. Benjamin looked at his watch and saw that it was ten now yet the streets were still too quiet.

Chill Out Chill Out spent the next few days checking the street trying to find out exactly what the SOuthside C's had planned at the Youth Center. His hard work over the three days since stopping the attack on Javier Cruz had paid off. The Southside C's were out to get any and everyone who had thwarted their plans in the past. Javier was just one of many on that list. Chill Out was able to determine that the number one person on the list was Wilson Jefferies, the man that run the Youth Center. Wilson was known as being a very outspoken person against the gang as well as a community leader. If the Southside C's were going to try to do anything big, they would need to take out Wilson first. The night was chilly but it was nothing to one with Chill Out's abilities. The cold of the night could not touch the hero and he was able to reach a nearby building that afforded him a view of the Youth Center. At first glance, everything looked fine--the building was dark which was normal at this time of night. However, it was after ten and yet a lone car still sat in the parking lot before the center. Someone hadn't driven home but with no visible lights on, Chill Out was unsure if there was anyone still inside.
  12. January 9th, 2009 The Lincoln Youth Center located over on G Street was once a place of smiles and enjoyment. Children could come to partake in various sports. Those kids not built for sports were not left out. The center included various rooms where the kids could learn how to play instruments or even cook. A large swimming pool was one of the highlights during the hot summer months. Even now the center was a place where kids could feel safe. Wilson Jefferies, the man that ran the center made sure that the ganags stayed away from the center and the kids that came there. Tonight, however, that warning was going to be ignored. The Southside C's had been recently gaining courage to strike out more at the general populace. this knewfound confidence translated in even stepping up pressure on the one man in Lincoln that was strong enough to force them away. Wilson Jefferies closed the door to his office and locked it. It was a very cold day, a little bit of snow was still on the streets. Mr. Jefferies pulled his jacket closed to fight the chill of the night air and looked down at his watch. 9:30pm. Later than he thought. Most of the day, he spent shoveling the basketball court as well as making sure there was hot chocolate for the few kids brave enough to come out in the cold weather. Now it was time for him to head home to the comforts of his own bed. He had just reached the main door when he heard the sound of breaking glass. Wilson stopped, his head a inch from the door handle. It had been years since he wore the mantle of his alter-ego, Black Avenger, but the skills that kept him alive was still in effect. Slowly he turned and moved back towards the sound. As he moved, here another sound coming from one of the storage rooms. A thief most likely he thought as he slowly opened the door. The room was dark but Wilson knew how to get around in teh dark. He slowly moved deeper into the room until finally he saw a young boy standing in front of a broken window, glass underneth his feet. The boy was dressed like a member of the Southside C's but was much too young to be sporting the gang's colors. The young boy smiled suddenly and it was the only warning Wilson had before the bat came crashing upon his head, turning his world to darkness.
  13. Okay, I'm taking out the old character and you can make the changes to that thread when you're ready. EIDT: It's been so long, just go ahead and start a new thread when you have the character ready. It will look better than pulling out the old thread.

Why the change in trade-offs? That is a massive point that needs reasoning behind it. To go from No trade-offs to suddenly I take more damage but can't get out of the way quickly. And the rade off would be + toughness/ -Defense, not attacks.
  15. Before we look at this character, I've noticed that you presently don'T have a PC created. Usually, we make the PCs then we make NPCs. Your old work is still archived. Would you like to continue work on it?
  16. Is this thread still up or are you finished with it?
  17. Isit safe to say this thread is done? let me know.
  18. Notice checks Dc 20 to see what is going on at the machine.
  19. Changeling looks back at Gordy and shakes her head. "No. I find the words hard to grasp at times. Besides, there's so many things to do other than spend time reading." The strange group of were-animals moved over to the steam machine and teh gorilla bent down to play with the device while the others all stood around him, blocking the view to what was actually happening.
  20. Welcome back. Hope to see Grim in some more threads.
