Okay, talkign about time line. With Bel going to hell on Feb 1st, and ghost having the events of the vignette happen on Feb 13th, we can set the adventure to shortly after the events of the Albright Institute break-in. Late January. I think Jan 21st 2009 would be a good starting point. Would give us plenty of time to complete it.
-
Are you still interested? If you are, we need to figure out how you're going ot get tested. With your money and resources, you could have your "test" in your own HQ's area. Or you can head over to the Albright Institue.
-
I was thinking of using this as a spring board to show Ghost's upgrade points. The two are called because they want some mystical item that the Don wants. He figures that with Ghost's luck and Bhel's strength, they would have little problems picking up the item. Not sure what though. Could be the vehicle that sends the demon to hell only to come back different as well.

This is the OOc thread for Bhelpegor and Ghost's required service for the mob.
-
I still ahve plenty of room for this thread. Looking for a few people to join in Lincoln area. It hasn't started yet, but I don'T want to keep Chill-Out waiting much longer. As for the Southside thread, there is still room for players to join. Anyone interested, drop a line here.

Happy Birthday! May this year bring you much joy and happiness.

Yes, that should be dodge focus, not dodge bonus. Will correct. Smoke grenade [Obscure 2(visual) 10ft radius] 4eps [All visual (8), all auditory (4), all radio (4)]Limited Only against machines total cost: 8pps. 2pp/rank all Technology at once. That is correct. Ghost must hold his breath when he moves through items. The smoke grenades do not have a save. Obscure all visual. So I need to find a point to pay for the luck feat? Okay. I'll drop the strike by one and put the point into paying for the feat. Will drop strike by 1 to pay for the extra luck feat. Strike (Bite and claws) DC 19 /Toughness Bruise/Lethal

Sorry for the delay. We have finally come to a decision. We are going to exclude Duplication from the restrictions on PL of the duplicates, however there is a limit of 10 copies (Progression 3).Duplication can not have the Extra: Heroic. This means that Duplication is not restricted by the Pl-6 ruling when progression 3 is in effect.

Sounds like a very intereting thread. I hope to see it on the board even if in summary format. Okay. Again makes sense. Thanks for the change. Again thanks for the change. Okay. I was pricing the Pen. Str to much. Okay it works out. Makes perfect sense to me. Try not to come up with too many of these. Let's cap them at 8 until the next PL at least. It does take time to set up identities so having too many shouldn't happen. Otherwise, here's your second Approved

First off, let me congratulate you on gaining Gold status! Now there are a lot of changes to your character so it is going ot take me some time to go over everything, so please be patient with me. With that said, let's get to work. First change I see, you've increaed his Charisma. What changed that made more chrismatic? I see you decided to hit caps for hs defense and attack in powered form. I'm curious as to why you decided to do that this time around. On the Will save could you change the formating to fit the others better? Since his Mind Shield is limited to only discovering his identity, it would be helful to place it clearly here. Perhaps like so: Will +7 (+15* when using "Pleasing Form power") [+1 Wis,+6; +8 Mind shield vs breaking disguise] Okay, here we have a slight problem. You bought the Forgery at full ranks on the old character and I'm really against letting you slap a flaw onto the skill just to increase the ranks. If you had the flaw on the old character, I could see it, but you neither added to the skill nor took anything away. Let's rework that skill as the original write up, Craft: Artistic forgeries was fine. No problems here. Looks your Internal Infernal Combustion is over pps costs of your array. Impr Tough 5-10pp+Pen Strength 14pp+ 5Pfs=24-29pps. You only have 22pps to play with in your array. Something's got to drop. On the Impr Toughness cost, the way I see it is normally 1pp/rank. Take off the permanent and it raises to 2pp/rank. Drop the duration to Sustained and you're back to 1pp/rank. On the other hand, looking at from a different way: 1pp/rank, drop duration to Sustain and you're sitting at 1pp/2ranks. Either way, you're over the array total of 22pps. Looks good here. But perhaps you should change the "darkvision" back to Infravision which is what the original Belphegor had. Makes it clear that he is seeing heat scources. I like the alternate identities. Nice touch and variety.

I missed this earlier. Where did you get the Challenge-Conversatinal Paralysis feat from? Is that in the Mastermind book? Also, equipment gives 5eps per rank. At 9ranks, that gives you 45eps. Below you listed only 41eps by your equipment. You can dump the build info on your Goofy Gas Bomb, though it did help when looking over it. You have a problem with your Joke Blades AP though. If I understand what you want, it would be the bomb that shoots out blades instead of normal damage of the Bozo Bombs, right? If so, then you need to make soem adjustments to get the DC up to 22 as you have listed below in teh DC block. Right now, it is a DC 18 (strike 1 + str +2= +3 on the DC) Buy up the Strike to 8 and with your str, you'll have a capped damage attack (+10 on the DC for a +25 DC.) You still have plenty of pts to buy up the Strike and if you would prefer to have a DC 21 on the joke blades, simply buy up your joke blade strike to 5. So your options are thus. AP: Joke Blades (Strike 8; Feats: Thrown, Mighty) 10pp DC 25/Toughness or AP: Joke Blades (Strike 4; Feats: Thrown, Mighty) 7pp DC 21/Toughness Okay, let's look at the vehicle. As it seems you've got from 20 up to 25eps invested in it. Str 2eps + Toughness 2eps +Size 1ep+ Speed 6eps+ Features 4+ Weapons 5 or 10eps. How did you come up with the Machine Guns costing you 13pps? Where did you get the Minimum Range flaw? It doesn't look like you included it in the cost. I see the machine guns as looking like this: -Machine Guns (Blast 5; Ex: Auto Fire Drawbacks: Lethal, Minimum Range) 5ep or -Machine Guns (Blast 5; Ex: Auto Fire Drawbacks: Lethal) 10ep I think that's everything though. Be careful with those eps. YOur bombs are eating up 20 of your 45 eps. The vehicle looks to be using 20 or 25eps. Once you make your choice about the joke blades and vehicle, I'll give it another look through to make sure I've caught everything.

Sammy's fingers flew across teh keyboard. He had limited time now that his presence within the system was known. He knew he ahd to get what he was looking for and get out before they locked down upon his location. 'Ah ha! Gotcha!' Sammy thought as he found the files. 'Once I get them on this flashdrive I can blow this joint. Since they know I'm in the system, there's no need to cover my tracks other than to leave this room before they find me.' The computer gave a soft ping alterig Sammy that the files were successfully copied. He removed the drive and moved away from the computer. Sammy smiled while watching the computer screen. It wasn't long before the connection was located and once Sammy saw that it was, he let his body pass through the floor. It didn't take Sammy long to slip back into the examination room and put on his clothes. With the flashdrive safely placed in his pocket, Sammy walked out of the Albright Institue, just like a Ghost.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the heads up.

Captain XcTlthRys (aka Captain Mantis) - PL 13 NPC - Tier 1
MBCE replied to Cyroa's topic in Archived Characters
Sorry for the delays. I hope to get your character looked at and ready for the second approval as quickly as possible. I'll try to cover everything in one post to help speed things along. Okay, here please follow the standard format by placing the following information above the Trade-Off section. Power Level: PL 13 Trade-Off: -2 Defense/ +2 Toughness Adds up. I assume the lower str is due to fighting in space. A nice touch. Adds up. EDIT: Even with your Trade off to Toughness and Defense, there is no need for a change to your Defense as you are not breaking caps. Looks good so far. EDIT: Looking at your powers, you would have a Toughness save of +15(Imprevious). This needs to be written here. Skills check out. though for a pirate sitting at PL13, his bluff sure is low. Okay, have you reviewed the new rules on minions? Here is the important part that you need to fix off the bat. 5. There will be a limit of Progression power feat and the PL of the minions you can Summon or have via the Minion feat. You can Summon/have one minion at your PL, 2 minions (Progression 1) at up to [your PL -2], 3-5 minions (Progression 2) at up to [your PL-4], 6-10 minions at up to [your PL -6], and 11-25 minions at up to [our PL-8]. Thus, a PL 10 character could have/summon 1 PL 10 minion, or 2 PL 8 minions, or 3-5 PL 6 minions, or 6-11 PL 4 Minions, or 12-25 PL 2 minions. EXCEPTIONS: The Components summoned by Gestalt are limited to one-half the PL of the combined Gestalt entity. as described in the power. Also, you may not use the Progression feat to increase the number of Sidekicks you have. So you can't have 50 minions with 60pps. That's got to change which would then free up a lot of pps for you. Confuse would cost 10pp, not 9pp. Making it 1pp/rank. At ten ranks, that would 10pps. What do you mean by Conscious? Do you mean concentration duration? This means you would have a Toughness save of +15, but you did not list having any trade offs. Are you going with the +2Toughness/ -2 Defense trade off? If so you need to list that at the top in the trade off section and change your toughness total to +15 (Imprevious). These look good. Would be nice to let us know what his Race is afterall. As you have it listed, you only mention that he looks like a preying mantis. Now to formatting. The PF:Restricted to Race should be on the Device line, not within the Blast line. This changes the cost of the device to a total of 16pps, not 15pps. That gives you 25pps of abilities in the device. (rank 5 x 5pps=25pps). Blast 8 (Extra:Penetrating) costs 24pps which leaves you with 1pp in your device. A suggestion would be to include the Precise power feat to allow him the ability to do fine cutting and so forth. A must for a space character with a blast power in my opinion. Also, what kind of blast is it? Energy or projectile? If energy, what kind? Looks good here as well. The Blaster would be DC 23 Toughness Penetrating [energy type]. The Sword would be DC 20 Toughness Penetrating [energy type]. As you took this straight from the book, I have no problems with it. So once the above points are fixed, the main guy will not be a problem. This all changes dues to the latest rules on Minions for characters. Once you have decided how you're going to change them, I'll look at the minions. -
Man that was a nice touch. I'm looking forward to seeing how Nathan is going to get out of the mess he's found himself in. Also, it's about time Hiro came back into the center stage. He is still teh most interesting character on the show!

Sammy has to find the files before he is discovered. He's going up an adim, Computer 6(+9). The Admin is going to try to identify the intruder (1min) before cutting me out. At the same time, Sammy is trying to find the file (1min DC 20) Admin trying to locate Sammy; Sammy has probability on.(roll =7 or better) (1d20+9=23, 1d20+11=25) Find file DC 20 probability not on this roll. (1d20+11=24) So he's location was not learned and he found what he was looking for.

Sammy's fingers moved acroos the keypad smoothly yet quickly. He had recently improved his computer skills and typing was just another part of that training. He had little time to get into the system, retrieve the information and get out before anyone noticed his absence. The first security measures almost ended the job before it even got started. Only the blessing of the Lady of Fortune saved Sammy from alerting the admins that he was in their system. Teh second security measure was a joke. 'Was is placing that here going to keep people out?' Sammy thought as he breezed passed the security feature. It seemed that his moment of inflatted ego was enough to displease Lady Fortune as the next security feature caught him easily. 'Damn! I thought I was free! I need to speed things up before they locate me and kick me out.'

Actually you have 4 Aps not 5. The default is a freebie.

Each of the heroes look into the building in their own way. Everyone Just in sight there is a large room that at one time must have been a confrence room. Sitting on crates or oil cans, can be seen five hairless men. The men were lounging relaxing as if waiting for someone. A few crush cans of beer littered the ground and smoke from a joint being passed around filled the room. Near each man was some kind of weapon: a baseball bat, a lead pipe, 2 submachine guns, and one gun like weapon that looked like it came straight from Daedalus' workshop. A doorway, just beyond the men, allowed the sight of stairs that lead up further into the building. Ignis and Scarab only The men talk quietly amongst themselves as they passed the joint around. The largest of the men took the joint and slowly took a drag. "And I'm tellin' ya this is going to be the bomb!" He waved the joint around as he spoke, emphasizing his words. "Last four days has brought us four more of those suped up fellas. Ya add those numbers with the new weapons for us normal blokes and ya got yerself a force to be feared!" The speaker passed the joint to the next man and lowered his hand to the strange futuristic weapon at his side. "Don't know 'bout tha rest of yas but those red skinned dudes give me the whillies! It just ain't natural, man! Those blokes take a lot to take down and I know some of them have a few screws loose up there in their noggins. That have to if they agreed to take that mess." The joint moved on to the next man who added his own words of wisdom to the discussion. "Hey, as long as they mess with me, I'm cool with 'em. It's when they decide to get all uppity that I've gots to put my foot down. Turn 'round and show 'em that they ain't sh---." His voice stopped in mid sentence as he began to look around the room carefully. "Hey, either this stuff is really strong or I'm sure somebody's watching us." Two more men blinked in surprise as a voice was put to their own thoughts. Slowly, the three alerted men reached for their weapons and stood up. "What cha talkin' 'bout, man?" said the large man. "Ain't nobody watching us." "Man this is Southside! There's tons of those freaks out here! You know as well as I do that if it isn't Foreshadow messing up our thing, it's that damn Nightrival! You sit on your ass all you like, but I'm gonna get ready for one of those freaks to bust in here." Understanding the truth of the man's words, the remaining two men stood, grabbing their weapons as well.

I'm using the Thug stats from the main book pg 229 for these five men. They are all minions. Def:12 Tough:+3 F:+4 R:+1 W:+0 Notice +4 Rolls were made to see if they noticed Ignis and Scarab's observations. 1)Ignis Dc 14 2)Scarab DC 18 (1d20=3, 1d20=12, 1d20=2, 1d20=18, 1d20=16, 1d20=10, 1d20=15, 1d20=15, 1d20=9, 1d20=5) Three of the men noticed that they were being watched.

Man I'm bad. I'm sorry it's taken me a month to get back to this thread. There really is no excuse for it. I hope that you all are still interested in playing. There is still room for other players as well, so if anyone's looking drop a line. Okay, game points. First off, any rolls should include the tag [Turf Wars] before the character's name. If you have an account over at Invisible castle, you can set up the campaign as Turf Wars. Either method is okay. When combat begins, I'll explain how things are done, but for the most part minions you may roll their toughness saves and write up the results when you make your attacks. Real threats I will roll their toughness and saves. To speed things up, I rolled the notice check for Arrowhawk to notice Scarab's use of ESP, DC 18. Ignis didn't get a roll as he was in Astral form when she would have been near his body so he would not be aware of her watching him. Notice check on Scarab's ESP DC 18 (1d20+18=36) Arrowhawk realizes that someone's watching him but not what or who. He does know it isn't coming from the building, though. I also rolled Scarab's Knowledge current events to see if she recognized Ignis ( on his sheet, he's listed as having a public identity) DC 15 due to her recent reawaking and to recognize Arrowhawk DC 10 (Arrowhawk has been more active in the streets of Freedom which would give Scarab a better chance at recognizing him. 1)Ignis DC 15 2)Arrowhawk DC 10 (1d20+4=21, 1d20+4=5) Scarab has heard of Ignis but not of Arrowhawk.

The rooftop was damp either from the chill of the night or the cooling of steam coming from the ventilation. It only took the hero a short time before she had sent her sense flying away and around the area. The street was basically empty of pedestrians but that was expected at such a late hour. The building she was present on had a few people inside. From the look of things they seemed mostly to be homeless or drunks. A slight distance away, her senses caught sight of a large grey wolf like humanoid with a tatoo around its right eye slumped against the wall. The creature was obviously not human and yet its chest moved rhytmically as it breath though there was no other signs that it was aware of its surroundings. Scarab continued her search of the area and spotted another figure near the entrance of the building. This one was a human male, tall and broad-shouldered. His face, covered by a domino mask with red lenses, was hidden beneath a black hood and cloak. A glimpse of a quiver and bow tucked under the cloak at the moment caught Scarab's eye as well as the silhouette of a flying hawk on his white T-shirt, a stark contrast to his otherwise dark garb. Teh masked man moved sleathly toa nearby window and began to peer inside. Her inspection of the outside of the building complete, Scarab sent her senses into the building.
-
The streets around the building were empty of people, which in all honesty was normal for this part of the night. The hero looked up and saw that clouds still covered most of the night sky, providing him with even more cover. Standing against the building, Arrowhawk could see that it was a run down four storied building that was once an office building. The tenants had been driven off a long time ago by the Skinheads. His information so far had placed the building as one of the major meeting points of the gang. A few feet away from the door, there was a slightly boarded window. Specks of light could be seen coming through the gaps and it was easy enough for the trained hero to reachit and peer inside.

Earth's astral plane was slightly different than he expected. Mystical energy flowed about like currents of air, neither of which affected the Cantonian in his present form. The building that had drawn his attention looked slightly different when viewed. A darkness surrounded the building and it looked even more decrepit than in teh normal world. Ignis moved carefully towards the building and easily passed through the walls.
