Locking this up. You can PM a Ref when you're ready to come back to it.

STAGE FOUR This stage will test the damage Belphegor can deal at close range. Simply roll hte toughness saves of the victims that appear before him. Belphegor gets three attempts to have the target fail its toughness save. You may use extra effort or spend an HP to increase your damage bonus. Part 1 -- Best in World Toughness + 6 Part 2 -- Best ever Toughness +7 Imprevious 3 Part 3 -- Moderate Superhuman Toughness +9 Imprevious 5 Part 4 -- High Superhuman Toughness +10 Imprevious 10
-
Again Belphegor found the table of refreshments waiting for him when he exited the room. It wasn't long before another door opened up. When he entered this room, he found it empty like the first two rooms he had entered. Legend's voice again explained the new test. "You have provened your ability to attack from a distance, Mr. Belphegor, but you must be able to take your enemies down in close combat. Are you able to inflict pain and suffering at close range? Simply rip apart anything that stands in your way."
-
STAGE THREE This stage will test Geckoman's Defense. Make an attack roll to hit Geckoman's DEF. The targets get three chances to hit Geckoman. You may use Extra Effort or an HP to increase your DEF at any time. Part 1 -- Average attack +0 Part 2 -- Gifted attack +3 Part 3 -- Best in the World +7 Part 4 -- Moderate Superhuman +9
-
The third room was very much unlike the the first two rooms. A few feet beyond the door, a wall stood that reached all the way up to the ceiling forming a small alcove. As the door to the corridor closed, a small opening appeared in the wall, revelaing the rest of the room. "You have weathered the pain that your enemies will throw at you, Mr. Belphegor. Now it is time for you to return the favor. This test will see how well your aim is with your Hellfire bolt. Simply blast the targets that you can see beyond the wall. Good hunting."
-
STAGE THREE This stage will be a test of Belphegor's Hellfire Bolt. Again, you get to roll 3 attempts to hit a target. Damage isn'T important here, simply hitting the target is. You may use extra effort or an HP at any point. Part 1 -- Average Adult DEF 10 Part 2 -- Gifted DEF 15 Part 3 -- Best in the World DEF 20 Part 4 -- Moderate Superhuman DEF 25
-
Again, the demon was greeted by refreshements and a chair in the corridor. It was jsut what he needed after the ordeal against the Angel. After a few moments, another door opened, beckoning Belphegor inside.
-
It will if you have imprevious 6 or higher.
-
The same as always. 3 chances to beat each Fort. 3 chances to beat each REf, etc. And there is no pass or fail of a stage.
-
STAGE TWO This stage will test Geckoman's ability to hit with his zappers as well as teh damage they do. You must first hit the target against its DEF and then roll its toughness save on a hit. If it fails the toughness roll, you've blasted through it. You get three attempts to hit the target but only one attempt to break through. You may use Extra effort or an HP at any time. Any usage of an HP will be used up for the rest of the thread. He has spent one HP already. Part 1 -- Average defensive DEF 10, Toughness +5 Part 2 -- Tough defense DEF 15, Toughness +10 Part 3 -- Challenging defense DEF 20, Toughness +15 Part 4 -- Formidable defense DEF 25, Toughness +20

It isn'T long before the lights flicker, signalling the start of the next stage. Workers come into the room and take the chair and table away, leaving Chris alone in the room again. Alan's voice came over the speakers. "Okay, Chris. We would like to test your zappers as well as your aim now. A number of targets will appear, you must hit and break through the item. You will have three chances per target to hit it but only one chance to break through. There will be for different tragets. Good luck."
-
Sure, if you want.
-
It isn't long before the lights flicker and Stephanie's voice comes over the speakers once again. "Darian, we would like to test your resolve, reflexes, and stamina now. You've shown yourself to be highly intelligent, but lacking in the basic physical strengths a young man your age should have. Good Luck."
-
STAGE FOUR This stage will test Darian's resistances. Again, you have 3 chances to beat the DCs set. You may use extra effort or spend an HP at any time. Each part consists of four areas that test the four saves, Fort, Ref, Will, and Toughness. Make your rolls against the listed DCs. Part 1 -- Average difficulty [F,R,W DC 10, Toughness DC 15] Part 2 -- Tough difficulty [F,R,W DC 15, Toughness DC 20] Part 3 -- Challenging difficulty [F,R,W DC 20, Toughness DC 25] Part 4 -- Formidable difficulty [F,R,W DC 25, Toughness DC 30] So this means you roll for F. Then you roll for R. Then W. And Toughness. a total of 12 rolls (3per/save) per part.
-
"There is no passing nor failing invovled in these tests," came Stephanie's voice. "They are simply a way to standardize your abilities and help us understand what your potenial is." Now, relax. It's going to tkae a while before we are able to set up the next stage." Workers again bring in refreshments and a chair for Darian to use.

Locked up the thread due to inactivity. PM a ref when you're ready to return to this.

The door opens and workers bring in a table full of refreshments as wella s a chair for chris to use. Teh chair is quite comfortable and the food is good quality. Alan's voice comes over the speakers. "Take some time to refresh yourself while we get things set up for your next test."
-
Just a quick observation. Beginner's Luck would have given you the +5 skill poins for the remaining two rolls as well. You could have made the roll with extra effort perhaps which would have given you a +2 on the roll. Regardless, you're down one HP for the rest of this thread.
-
Sounds like a plan to me. Nyrath can pull itout of storage later.
-
Nope not at all. Go ahead and do a thread together.
-
Yup that's right. So in effect, he can pop on his imprevious toughness for the first two parts and pass the toughness without breaking a sweat if he wants to. Of course, he could show how tough he is by going at it without the imprevious toughness. Regardless of what he does, he still gets hit by the Fort,Ref,Will saves normally at all parts. Just a matter of how you want to play it out.
-
Just the saves. I listed the attack bonus just in case you want to use yout imprevious Toughness instead of normal toughness.

Sammy stood across the street from the four story office park that housed the Albright Institute. Before coming all the way out ot Hanover, he had taken a little time to check up on the place. Sammy was surprised that the institute was working to understand superhumans. 'This must be the place where all the do-gooders go to get their wounds licked. Not a bad place actually. I wonder if they fix anybody up? I could have used a real hospital after that mess in the sewers. My arm is still sore after getting patched up. I guess that's what I get for going to an underground doctor. At least I know he keeps his mouth shut.' Not wanting to picked out by any eyes that might be watching the street, Sammy began walking away. 'Place doesn't look like all that much,' Sammy thought as he moved down the street. 'It's not like the Museum of Natural History. I should be able to simply walk through the front door. Worse case would be for me to head in saying I was some kind of superhero. They would want to stick and prod me, I'd guess.' Sammy gave a shudder at the thought of a doctor using him as a guinea pig. He wasn't into having people exert control over him and his recent exposure to just such a situation left a bad taste in his mouth. No, he would need a better way of getting in than offering up his body. Perhaps after lunch he would come up with a plan to gain entrance.

It's come to my attention that a large number of new members have been approved for play. I thought it would be useful to have a thread where advice could be given for newbies. There is no need to wait around for someone to post with you in a thread. A solo thread works out wonderfully. Here is one of the best examples of a solo thread. To start a thread, it doesn't take much. All you need is to have an idea of a story. Pick a location to play it out and start typing away. Remember to make an OOC thread as well just in case someone becomes interested in your story and wants to ask to get in. Not interested in a solo thread? Okay. Look around at active threads. If you find one that interests you, PM one of the players or write in their OOC thread that you're interested and would like to know if there are any openings. No active threads that you like? Well, then surf through the active Heroes and Villains in the Character Bank. If you find one that you are interested in, PM the player of that character and pitch them an idea. Sooner or later, you're bound to get a hit! Of course, you can continue to watch the Campaign Discussion section for any threads that are about to start up. You can even advertise that you're looking to play with some people. Sooner or later, you'll find someone to join you in creating a great story.

This is the OOC thread for Ghost's attempt to break into the Albright Institue for Maximus Grey.
