Stephanie smiles at Darian as he leads him out of the lab. "And if you believe all that we have at this school are those with flashy abilities, you're not as smart as you make out to be. No, each test is to determine the limits of a person's abilities so that we can place them properly in their classes. In your case, I must admit, we had to think of some very interesting ways to challenge that intellect of yours." She leads him down the hall towards elevators that take them down to the school's training facility. "This is the school's combat simulator. There are holographic projectors in the walls that can create pretty much any situation imaginable. Daedalus designed and built the system which has served the school well." Stephanie lets Darian take a look around the very empty room for a bit, letting him digest teh infromation she gave him. "As for your test, it is usually split into five different stages. Each stage will test a different ability you possess. The tests are merely a way for us to know your strengths as well as weaknesses so not passing a stage in not a problem. We try to challenge the students to make sure they have an idea of what they are capable of. Each stage will begin with the lights flickering slightly and then your task will be explained. Below the main grounds of Claremont Academy, the true heart of the school is kept form the eyes of the world. It was on Sub-level two that Darian reported to work. Stephanie Harcourt stood in the large labratory and looked up when Darian stepped in. "Welcome, Darian, to your new work place. Here, we have the latest technology to test students powers to the limit as well as analysis anything that might happen to threaten the city." Stephanie moves over to Darian. "Well, before you can get started to work, you have to go through a placement test. Are you up for it?"

The numbers seem to add up, but I have a question about the pride power. Your write up of the power was very helpful but I still find it difficult to see how this will affect the game. How do you suggest the altered memories would affect others? Would it impose a penalty? Or increase the DCs on actions?

I for one am all for them. One other character, Nightrival, on the list had started recruiting for members for a group. I'm not sure what happened with it as there hasn'T been much traffic with the group as some of the players have gone MIA.

Workers come out placing various drones in the room. After they had completed their work, the familiar tone rang out signalling the beginning of the last tests. Gabriel's voice again came over the speakers. "This last test will be determine how well you can identify targets. Within the grouping of targets, you must hit the correct target. While the test is on, there will be overriding noise to make targeting more difficult for you. Good luck." As the table of refreshments are removed, the targets begin to move while a humming covers their movements.

STAGE FIVE This stage will test Mura's ability to differentiate targets. Placed in the room will be placed targets for her to hit along with targets she must not hit. She will roll an attack roll against the various Defs as well as a lone d20. The d20 will determine whether she targeted the correct drone. Again, she gets three attempts per part to succeed. Using extra effort or a Hero point can be used at anytime. On retries, she must reroll her attack as well as her targeting d20. What are your hobbies when you are not adventuring or training? I like playing cards but they don't really let me in the casinos much. What do you do for relaxation? At last I'm free! I finished the computer course and can now contact Grey about his little project. It shouldn'T be too difficult to get in and take a look around at that computer system. From the sound of things, it should be well guarded with electronic devices which means little to me. I'll have to watch out how the place is protected against. I can take a look at the place when I go out to deliver that envelope for Byron. I'll be glad to get rid of that box, though. It will hopefully let me sleep at night.

Who is this guy? Byron? Where did Lenny get this guy's name from? I've spent a few hours hitting the street looking for information on the guy which just doesn't seem to be out there! I've talked to low lifes, pimps, drug addicts and even gang members. No one and I mean no one has ever heard of Byron. Hey, I trust Lenny wouldn'T send me out on a wild goose chase, but I hate walking into a situation without knowing what I'm getting into anymore. That last meeting with Maximus Grey must ahve really gotten to me if I'm out here looking for info on this byron guy. Lenny wouldn't set me up so there must be a reason for me not being able to find anything on this guy. Could he be pulling Lenny's leg? Hey, Lenny's just some average Joe that knows a lot of people. Maybe a new super is out here trying to use Lenny to lure people like me to them! I'll have to watch my step when I deliver the envelope. I don't trust it to be a simple job.

Sammy sat in his chair, the strange box sitting on the table before him next to the sealed envelope. 'Why in the world would he ask me to take this to the Mall before meeting him? What could be inside that it needs to go somewhere like that?' Sammy turned the envelope over wondering if he should open it or not. The envelope was large, about he size of a sheet of paper. It had almost no weight and was thick enough not to let light reveal its contents. It would be easy for him to take a peek, but Sammy was known for his discretion and he didn't want to do anything to disrupt that track record. 'But who is this byron fella? What will he be able to do for me? Simply tell me what the box is or go further by pointing me to a buyer? Lenny didn't say and that really isn't like him. I'd better do some looking into this guy myself before seeing him.' Sammy left the items on the table and headed out. Once the door closed, the box opened slightly allowing green smoke to flow out towards the nearby envelope. It wasn't long before the envelope was covered with smoke.
