  1. Make a streetwise DC 15 to realize the figure is the hero Foreshadow. :bat:
  2. The door opened into a crowd of panicking people, all trying to escape the confines of the building. A few more guards were knocked out in a corner, men Arrowhawk hadn't seen earlier. Near the unconcious bodies was a figure dressed all in black. "About time you got up here, Arrowhawk," the figure said as he moved over to the wounded hero. "I thought I was going to have to head down there and drag you out."
  3. A few quick points that need to be fixed. Force field 7 plus Con 14(+2) only gives a Toughness of +9 not +10. Could you rewrite your powers to fit the format of other characters? Main Power ranks (Extras: XX;Flaws: XX;PF: XX) cost AP:Alternate power ranks (Extras: XX;Flaws: XX;PF: XX) Could you rewrite your Skills to fit the format of the other characters as well? Skill name ranks (+total) On another note, are you sure you want your force field to be ablative? With only 7pps spent on it, it's going to become useless fairly quickly. In the background, a few questions, how visible was Chill Out as a villian? Was he very active? How long was he a villian before turning to heroic duty?
  4. Can this thread be locked up or is it still in use?
  5. Ghost frowned within his bag. Itallian. Obviously the mob which means there is only a handfull of people with the power and resources to hold the two of us even if we were taken out before hand. At least Lady Fortune has given me this chance to live. "Sure. Don't leave town and wait to be contacted. I can do that with no problems. Get word to Lenny, I stay in contact with him fairly regularly."
  6. Okay, we're pretty much ready to start the actual testing for Mura. I'm still trying to figure out the five stages and what they will test, but I have the first one set up already. Go ahead and give one last post showing Mura's reaction to being left in the room, and I'll put the information fo rthe first stage here. I'll put an introduction post in the main thread as well and then you get to write up the results of the test.
  7. Gabriel lead Mura into a large room were workeres were still working on a large machine. Gabriel lead the young woman up to the machine and stopped. "Here, we'll be puttin you through your placement tests, Ms. Echi. The workers are just finishing the last preparations for the first stage as we speak. Your placement tests are designed to test your abilities and find the limits of your present capabilities. In many ways, we hope that they give you more insight to your own image of yourself." "From the data gathered, we'll be setting up classes for you to take. The tests are split into five stages. Each stage will consit of four segments of varying difficulties, some of which are specifically built to be above your power level. This will give us a possible upper limit to your abilites. Each stage will be proceeded by a slight beeping tone before they begin. Between the different stages, you'll be given a short break with refreshments to regain your strength." Gabriel begins to whell himself away from the machine and Mura. "I'll give you your instructions before each stage. Good luck, Ms. Echi." Gabriel is soon out of the door and Mura is left alone in the room with the large machine.
  8. Duncan sat back. "No, you completed teh orientation, Darian. Simply recieving the package with the information was enough. The problem I'm having is that you are fairly young, Darian, not much older than most of the students here. Having you work as a student assistant is a fairly simple procedure that will not cause hard feelings nor resentment to the other students here." Duncan folded his hands before him as he continue. "It is not school policy to hire minors, regardless of their ability, as members of hte staff. It would cause too many distruptions."
  9. Gabriel nodded his head as he took down notes. "Hmm, sound based preception. We'll have to test the extent of that particular ability as well." Gabriel put the pad down upon the desk and smiled. "I have all the information I need for your placement tests now. If you'd be so kind as to follow me, we'll head to the testing room." Gabriel waits for Mura to stand before wheeling himself towards the door and into the corridor.
  10. Gabreil didn'T miss a beat as he followed right on the heel of her statement. "And yet you can move about unaided as well as perform feats that a normally blind person could never do. I thought you were going to be open to this testing, yet you have not shared that you are somehow able to see. Tell me Ms. Echi, is this due to training?"
  11. Gabriel watches teh display without changing his expression. "And your eyes? Do you know what the purple substance is?"
  12. Gabriel leaned back in his chair and regarded the young woman for a while before speaking again. "Yes. that's correct. Giving it your all is an important step towards understanding your powers as well as yourself." Gabriel pauses for a moment againa dn pulls out a clipboard and begins taking notes. "So, tell me Ms. Echi, what exactly are your abilities? What have you already learned to do so far? An honest assessment lets us shape your placement tests accordingly."
  13. That's up to you. If you want him to continue on that's fine. If you want him to stop before, like you did with the first stage, that's fine as well. This is a thread to show where your character is going. At least where he is emotionally. How does he react to not completing activities? How does he react to success?
  14. Your strength score (26) gives you a +8 on the roll. YOur super strength gives you a +6 on the roll so you ahve a total of +14. Roll 1d20+14 and compare it to the first number. If you bet it, then you move to the second part. If you fail, roll again and check against the 2nd number. If you win advance to second part. Failure means you roll again and check against the 3rd number. Repeat as needed. :)
  15. Arrowhawk easily opens the door to find stairs that lead up. This must be the normal entrance for the lowlifes that had to do the work with the drugs. His injuries kept his movements fairly slow but there was no obstacales in sight. The stairs head up about three flights before reaching another door. At this point he's sure that he is located on the ground floor. The hero takes a moment to listen at the door before carefully opening it to reveal another empty room. Another door was located on the opposite wall but closed. The sound of the police sirens approaching were closer than before.
  16. I'm glad as well. It is always nice to "fail" from time to time. Keeps the tension up with the characters. Keeps them more realistic and more like the comics. We'll be wrapping this one up soon. Most likely in a few more posts.
  17. Duncan sat back in his chair after Darian had finished. "So, you left earlier? There was an oreintation package for you, correct? Did you wonder why that was before leaving?"
  18. Here is a special thread to list students that may be seen within the hall of Claremont Academy. Faculty are mostly restricted to Ref usage, but students may be used for cameo roles. Check usage level of the NPCs before using them.
  19. Here is a thread to list any NPCs that players may use in their threads. Please list how much control may be used for other players as well as who created the character.
  20. This is a thread dedicated to various locations in the area. Feel free to list any locations created here. Please give any information that other PCs may need to use in their threads.
  21. The lights blinked and the workers cleared the room. What was left behind was a small but tall table. The table had two small cushions, one red the other blue, on top. Next to the cushions were two hand grips. It was clearly an arm wrestling table. A door opened and four men of various muscle sizes entered the room. Duncan's voice came on the speakers as they entered. "Time for the second stage. Here, we'll test your strength limits. You will arm wrestle with these four men. Again, you get three attempts to beat each of them. Good luck."
  22. STAGE TWO In this stage, Leviathan's strength will be tested. Make an opposed strength roll against the following. Again, he has three chances per test. Please use the next roll if you fail the previous one. You may use Extra effort or a Hp to increase your own strength but remember the effect will last only for this stage. So you should makes your d20+14 str roll and compare them to the listed rolls below. Good luck. Part 1 -- Gifted Strength (1d20+3=22) 2nd attempt; 3rd attempt (1d20+3=22, 1d20+3=5) Part 2 -- Best in the World Strength (1d20+6=21) 2nd attempt; 3rd attempt (1d20+6=18, 1d20+6=9) Part 3 -- Moderate Superhuman Strength (1d20+9=11) 2nd attempt; 3rd attempt (1d20+9=13, 1d20+9=26) Part 4 -- Very High Superhuman Strength (1d20+15=28) 2nd attempt; 3rd attempt (1d20+15=20, 1d20+15=16)
  23. I noticed a slight mistake on your character sheet. It seems you listed your heavy load due to Superstrength as being 200 tons. That's not exactly correctly. The numbers should be as follows: Lt Load: 9.792 tons Med Load: 19.616 tons Hvy Load: 29.44 tons Max Load: 58.88 tons Push/Drag: 147.2 tons Ive made teh change on your character sheet to reflect this.
  24. Duncan takes the ahdns and shakes it warmly. "Well, that's something that has yet to be determined, Darian. Please, have a seat." Once Darian was seated, Duncan took his own seat facing the young man. "I understand that you visited the school earlier. Please, tell me what you thought of your visit." Ducan sat forward in his chair with an interested gaze upon the young man.
