The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish
MBCE replied to Ecalsneerg's topic in The Boardwalk
"Hahahaha! Is that the best you can do?" the helmeted man said as he brought his fist around in a haymaker that hit Arrowhawk again in the midsection. -
 You're right. It should have given you a +1 bonus on that last round of attacks, but unfortunately I doubt that it would have helped. I'll check the rolls to make sure though before processing the round. It will be out for the next action though.
-
I'll Take the Don since I like hanging out with the mobs and all. Magic is more your area anyway. Go ahead and write the intro post as Bel would wake up first. I'll jump in after following your lead. The goons would be there as well.
-
Let's split them up. Since we started this tag team, we might as well finish it that way. I only see a few more posts to finish it up anyway. Bel would wake up before Ghost, so put up a post when he wakes up and I'll follow your lead on the set. Whomever you decide to play I'll pick up the other. Also bring out the guys that whupped our butts. They would be present.

I like this option the best. It has the most plausible way of getting out of this mess as well as opening up further fun down the way. Let's go with this method.
-
I've got an idea on how we can get out of this mess alive. First they give us a massive beating before bringing their boss to us. They force us to agree to do a "job" sometime in the future and the promise of never coming in the casino again. If we agree, they let us go. Sometime later, much later, they come calling on that job of some sort. I know it's not the best way of doing things, but it is a way to get out of this without prison and it sets up another teamup in the future. Of course this is all if Capricia doesn'T save our butts. :D

Journal entry 2 Man! I have got to stop trying to work with people! I knew trying to knock off the Golden Calf was bad luck! All that guady gold and horrible artwork everywhere just does not work for me! First, that Whisper chick decided to split on us midway through the job. Do I attract unprofessionals? Do any of them understand about having pride in their work? Or is everyone in this town so full of themselves that they have no pride in their craftmanship? Most of the villains I've run into so far have been very powerful and flashy. That demon guy for one was mostly show as they dropped him fairly quick. If I would have watched out for myself, I could have escaped. But no....I had to show some loyalty to the group and the plan. Cost me a beating that I'm not going to forget anytime soon. I need to change my ways here in Freedom. Its everyman man for himself out here. If you're not watching for Number one, you're picking out daisies! Next time, I run when things turn south!

The blast hits him squarely and he stumbles back slightly. A grunt of pain escapes his lips but he is still in the fight. The smoke clears allowing Ghost to see that both were still standing. The Ghost held his arm and watched the two fighting. He's still up! Got to lean a hand. Again the Ghost's own luck began its work. Another pipe burst hitting the vigilante with a blast of water. The water attack hit and distracted the vigilante as well as further weaken him. "Finish him off!" Ghost yelled in encouragement to the woman.

The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish

The blow hits solidly but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the man. "Right..." he says as he brings his own fist into Arrowhawk's midsection. He smiles as the blow connects. -

The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish

The netting seems to be directly on target, but the man easily dodges outside of the snare. "Let's see how you do without that bow of yours!" he calls out as he fires a blast at the bow. The blast manages to hit. Arrowhawk can feel the blast pushing the bow from his grasp. -
You're correct. Thanks for pointing it out. I corrected the last post to show that it did not hit her. Raven's action is up.

The Ghost stared at the woman in surprise as she turned and enterd through the smoke. Unable to see what was happening, Ghost heard the words that invoked her powers again. This lady must have a death wish! She's crazy. Get out of here while you can. You did your one good deed for the day. But Ghost did not move. He stood silently waiting to see or hear the results of her attack on his follower. The vigilante smiled broadly when he saw Raven emerge from the smoke. "You decided to stick around, huh? Well you'll regret that--" Raven's black tendril of power shot forth but whether due to her injuries or not taking time to aim, the blast goes wide, hitting the wall and exposing more pipes underneath. "Still looking for a fight. Well I've got just the thing for you!" The vigilante fired at the woman but the bullet managed to missed her. The Ghost flinched as he heard the gun shot. Well that tells me he's still up!

"Impressive," came the headmaster's voice over the speakers. "It seems you haven't been slacking off in your classes afterall." People come out and begin clearing away the various props fromt eh last test and even a few nod their appreciation for Gordy's song. Refreshments are again brought out to let Gordy regain his strength. This time however, Duncan Summers comes out to join him. "You've done quite well so far Gordy. I'm proud of you. All that's left is for you to demonstrate your new trick for us. I have to admit I am fairly curious as to what you have to show today. Is there any props that you need? Drones for targets or another purpose? "

I loved your last post! It was wonderful!   With the fourth stage cleared, that leaves only the fifth stage where you show off your new trick. Looking forward to seeing it!

The Ghost looked around the corner again and saw the woman's shock at being wounded. That's what she gets for coming down here demaning stuff of me. Don't stick your neck out for them and you'll live to tell about it. The Ghost kept his eyes glued to situation and he saw the sick glee in the vigilante's face as smelled the woman's vulnerablity. The look of vengence in his eyes angered Ghost and he knew he couldn't simply let her get slaughtered. I'm going to regret this later! Ghost darted around the corner and threw a smoke gernade between the vigilante and the woman. Dark smoke filled the area between them cutting off vision. The vigilante saw Ghost throw the gernade and he instintively flinch expecting an explosion. When the weapon burst out with smoke, he fired blindly through the smoke. Luckily, the bullet did not find a target.

Now that is a wonderful question to answer. Depending on what you want to do, we could a)Be taken to prision. Would be interesting.... b)Say that Whisper decided to come back and get us out, but I doubt this would happen as it was really Grimalkin in disguise. c)Say that Capricia gets us out of trouble somehow, but I'm loath to do that. I dislike having PCs without their players have much of an effect in matters. d)Somehow wake up before the cops arrive and escape.

It looks like everyone is shifting to new storylines. Don't be afraid to start up a new thread with your characters at the school. Getting to explore the area in detail.

Yeah. Failed the Will save which gave me another bruised condition. The blaster then got me with a stagger and stunned condition which opened me up to another staggered and stunned condtion. If I remember correctly, having a second Staggered condition bumps you up to the next level which puts him down. STATUS Ghost has 4 Bruises and 2 Staggered stunned conditions (and 0 HP). Capricia has 1 bruise. Belphegor has 1 bruise, and is unconscious (can attempt recovery in 7 rounds) (and 0 HP). Blaster is staggered. Kickboxing Jamaican Man has 1 Bruise, and is Unconscious (can attempt recovery in 5 rounds). Magnet man is staggered. Mentalist has 3 Bruises, and is staggered. 4 of Capricia's 4 Thugs are KOd. Everyone else (Leader and assorted Bystanders/Patrons) is unharmed. Oh crap! The Ghost grunted from the pain invading his mind which caused him to stumble out into view of the other two men. The blaster's shot was powerful, rocking The Ghost on his heels. The shift put him directly in the path of the magnetic blast which is just enough to put him down. The world goes blank for the thief.

The Ghost visibly shrinks as Grey exerts his powerful presence. Somehow, he manages to limit his intimidation to that inital reaction. He quickly nods his head in understanding but not trusting his voice, remains silent. The Ghost watches as Grey departs and even then he waits a bit longer before gathering up the gold coins. What have you just gotten yourself into, Sammy. This guy is way over your league and from the sound of things, he really wants this information. At least now, I have a reason to sharpen up some more skills. Ghost again looked around the empty room for a bit before heading out, his bag now holding the gold coins. It wasn't long before he disappeared from the area just as his namesake.
-
The blast caught the Ghost completely unprepared. As his world began to blur, he steadied his nerves and realized he wasn't hurt as badly as he thought. That was close! Another shot like that will be the end of me. Got to take him down. The Ghost again turned his power upon the stunned mentalist. The jet of water had played itself out, but the mentalist was standing in a pool of water. The casino over teh years ahd slowly begun to slope in one direction. The pool of water began moving down that slope which happened to be right where the electrical wiring from the chandiler was touching the ground. The water quickly completed the conection from the electrical wire to the mentalist, sending a bolt of power through the stunned man. [Eletric DC 20] Even as the the mentalist had suffered a bad stream of luck, The Ghost darted deeper among the various machines in an attempt to hide from the blaster.
