  1. With the room cleaned and spotless, the lights flicker once again to indicate that the fourth stage was about to begin. Duncan's voice again came over the speakers. "Well, Gordy, we're almost finished here. After this stage, you'll show us your new trick and I must say I'm looking forward to seeing it. So far, we've tested your ability to control your sonic abilities. We've tested your offensive capabilities as well as your defensive capabilites. Now comes the most important thing we will test you on." The room goes black for a few minutes and Gordy can hear the sound of people moving about, placing items all through out the room. After what seems like an eternity, the lights come back on to reveal a variety of items. A small stage with a microphone and a keyboard was sitting off to the right. It was a similar set up to the one from his various perfoming classes. Opposite the stage, sat a table with numerous books. Gordy recognized them as mostly textbooks from his classes. To the right of the desk was a large wardrobe and mirror. A small podium was also there, one that he used often in his debate classes. To the left of the small stage, was a small television, it's picture blank. "There will be times when your powers will not be able to save you and only your skills will allow you to survive. Gordy, what you see before you are various items to test just how well you have been paying attention in class. Each small section represent a part of the classes that you have been taking. You must use each section once for you to pass this section of the test. You may only use a section once and unlike the previous stages, you get one chance per section to beat the challenge. Good luck."
  2. STAGE FOUR For this stage, Gordy must show that he has been paying attention in his classes. He must use his skills to defeat the various tasks set for him. Again, four parts, each part he can choose which skill to try and beat the DCs however there are conditions. Conditions: He may only use a skill only once. He must use a skill based from three different groupings. A Perfom skill [singing, Acting, Keyboards, Dance], a Knowledge skill [Art, Popular Culture], a Social Interaction skill [bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Info, Disguise], and Observation [Notice, Sense Motive]. He can use the catergory any way he wishes. These are all set Dcs that he must roll to defeat (there is no taking ten this time) and unlike the previous sections, he only gets one chance -- either he knows it or he doesn't. Part 1 Average DC 10 Part 2 Tough DC 15 Part 3 Challenging DC 20 Part 4 Formidable DC 25
  3. We'll see. Rolled his danger sense so they won'T catch him by surprise, though he might not catch where they presently are. I hope he can take out that menatlist this round. Or he's going to be in a world of hurting soon. :D
  4. The Ghost smiled as he saw the results on the mentalist. That'll teach him not to play head games with me. One more good shot should do him in. Again his mysterious power worked its way out and affected the world around him. Capricia's manipulation of the environment of the casino had slowly been taking effect on the pipes that ran throughout the wall, carrying water from one end to the other. One such pipe, now exposed, exploded sending a stream of high pressure water at the mentalist. [bludgeoning water DC 20] His attention, focused on the mentalist, Ghost almost was unaware of the danger he was in from the other two guards still in the area. A slight hunch was the only warning for him to turn around just in time to check on the other two guys' position.
  5. "Hey, I liked Cats!" came Duncan's voice over teh speakers again. His tone, however was mirthful and lacked any anger at Gordy's retaliation at the drone. "On a more serious note, pun not intended, it seems you could do with a little more work on that deflective shield of yours. Expect to see some extra classes assigned to you to help in that area. For now, take some time to refresh yourself before we begin the fourth stage." Food and a chair are again brought out for Gordy to use at his leisure. AS he partakes in the refreshments, more people come out to clean up after the last test. The people move slowly, as if giving Gordy plenty of time to regain his strength. Actually, when he starts to think about it, after each stage, the breaks became longer and longer. Already this break had lasted longer than the previous three stages put together. Whatever was coming next was going to be big.
  6. Yeah, I know. It sets the stage for the Ghost to play clean up. If only I had a way of waking up the demon, I'd get him up in a heart beat. Unfortunately, his luck is manily due to gremilins running around doing the work for him. Kind of hard to see them healing anything. :D
  7. Arrowhawk init 26 Electric man init 18 Arrowhawk gets to attack again now.
  8. The arrows fly and hit but their damage is [blunted by the man's clothing. The blows however manage to help him regain his sense, and he again gets ready to attack.
  9. Both the magnet guy and blaster caught sight of the fight with Ghost. One of them even managed to spot Ghost hidding near the slot machines. Go ahead and bring either one or both over to help out on the Ghost. Right now, the leader and Capricia have moved off into a different room, let's say, keeping that side out of the picture.
  10. The two guards, badly wounded, move over to stand above the demon. "The hell is this thing? He almost ripped out my guts!" says the magnetic guy. "Your guts? Look at me! If I hadn't stepped in to distract him, you'd most likely be dead now. Instead of that, I'm in the same boat as you," replied the blaster. The two men turn to survey the area and frown at the scene that greets their eyes. One of their buddies was already down and the other didn't look to be in any better shape. Only one of them caught sight of the man poking his head out from among the slot machines. The Ghost watched the mentalist and smiled as he saw his dazed expression. Perfect timing. Since the beginning of this fight, the walls were peppered from stray items flying everywhere. It just so happened that one section of the wall near the mentalist was badily damaged by items bouncing off of the man's force field. As luck would have it, a small section of it decided just at that moment to fall off hitting the mentalist. [bludgeoning DC 20]
  11. I tend to ignore knockback unless the build of hte character is one which it becomes important. Some things just shouldn't force people back I feel. As we went so far without using it, let's not worry about it this fight and then deal with it in other threads or fights. I don'T need the extra paper work.
  12. Is this thread finished? Can it get closed up?
  13. The Ghost smiled as Grey decided to give him teh information he wanted. "Then it seems you'll have your chance, Mr. Grey. I like the challenge you've put forth." Ghost stands and brushes off his jeans. "From the sound of things, the only major problem is the computer. How quickly do you need the information? I would like to brush up on my computing skills before I had to do the job. It would be easier if I go in alone. As for payment, half that bag of gold you got now, and the other half when the job is completed."

    The job OOC

It seems the dice were on your side after all. The grapple check was tie but as you have the higher bonus, you win.:(1d20+16=24) You like cutting it close, huh? The Fortitude save on the Dimensional Movement 13 The thread is pretty much done I think. All you need to do is come up with a wrap up post. I hope it worked out to your satisfaction. Sorry that it took so long though.

    The job

Heavy releases his hold on the demon just long enough for him to change his powers. The demon shows a slight return of strength as it recovers from the damage Heavy had done to it. "You release me? Fool! Now you die!" it roars as the two continue to grapple. Unfortunely for it, Heavy had attencipated the demon's movements and just barely manages to contain his hold upon the creature. Heavy's armor shudders at the strain of power but he feels the power start to reach out upon the held demon. Suddenly, the demon begins to realize what was happening. As the power moved outside of Heavy's armor and around the demon, it began to panic. "What? No! You can't!" it roars as the power begins to take ahold of the creature. The creature begins to blink more quickly than before as its hold on the world is slowly ripped apart by Heavy's outpouring of power. The room begins to shake as a dimensional rift is formed. Dark tendrils of mystical energy lashes out upon the demon and begins dragging it into the rift. "NO! I WILL RETURN! I'LL HAVE YOUR SOUL FOR THIS!!!!!" With a loud explosion of sound that sends Heavy flying slightly back, the rift closes leaving him alone with the unconcious Kirk.
  16. Okay. Doesn'T look like there were any takers. I'm closing up the thread.

  18. The blaster, now with his wits about him, takes advantage of the demon's present condition. He points his arms at the stunned demon. A blast of force rockets out towards Belphegor, hitting with tremendous force. His partner smiles as he sees the blast plow into the demon and uses his own powers to take out last remaining henchman. The Ghost frown again as he saw the blow get absorbed by the guard's force field. Damn thing is strong. Got to take him down quick. The Ghost looked over as the Magnetic man again used his powers to take out the remaining Henchman. Again the overflow of that force sent a number of items flying at the mentalist. [bludgeoning DC 20] The ghost frowned again as he caught sight of Belphegor's condition. We've got to end this quickly!

  20. Arrowhawk moves like lightning, moving out of the small elevator and shooting his arrow. The blow catches the armored man squarely and a grunt of pain escapes his lips. The man shakes his head, trying to bear through the pain. Unfortunately, the action left him open to Arrowhawk.
  21. Ghost shrugs his shoulders when Grey gets up. "You came to me for a reason. Walking away now instead of answering my questions is your choice, but you're not going to find anyone else able to do what I can do." The Ghost turns around to watch Grey and a smile crosses his lips. "I'm no flunky, Grey. I'm not a mindless soul that would do anything for moeny. I don't walk into a deal unless I feel it's something I can do. So far, you've given me very little reason to do the job. I don't need to know what the information is, but I do need to know why you're not getting it for yourself." "You finesse was needed. Fine. I can do finesse. What I need to know is what's going to happen when they find out the information has been taken? If this job is going to call the Freedom League down upon my head, I'll pass. I don't need those uppty do gooders breathing down my back. That's bad for business."
  22. The Ghost's eyes light up with interest when he sees the gold coin. "Gold coins. Nice. Kind of hard to move these days without drawing attention, but still nice." Ghost leaned back in his chair simply mulling over the offer. Obviously there's something major about this information or he wouldn't be trying to get his hands on it. On the surface of things, it seems like a straight up job. Still, I wonder why he isn't simply getting the information himself. "A job like this one has a lot variables to it. I don't know the layout of the building nor exactly where the computer is located. It will take so research on my part to get that information. Also, though I am knowledgable about computers, I have no shame to admit that it isn't my strong point. If the information you require is protected with high level security, there's a very good chance that I won't be able to get it out. A hacker is going to be needed for the job." Ghost leans forward in the chair as his mind switches to the job. He holds up his hand counting off the items needed to pull off the job. "So there's myself and at least a hacker to get the information. There's the problem of not knowing the layout or the security that might be in place. Add to that no knowledge of who might be hanging around the place to disrupt things." "I've worked with a group of people before in the pass, but they all flaked out on me. Left me holding the ball. If it wasn't for Lady Fortune watching out for me, I might not have pulled off the jobs. You got some people in mind? For that matter, it seems you have a large number of people you could call on to get what you want. Why do you need me to do the job?"

The vigilante made his intial save against your dazzle and fired at Raven [All-out attack +/- 5 att/def and Power attack +/-5 Dam/attack] That brings the damage to +9 which gets through Raven's imprevious. The critical roll raises the Lethal Toughness DC to 29.
  24. Raven casts her spell and watches as the dark light reaches out towards the vigilante. Whether it was luck or the result of him being hit by the boiling water was unclear but the vigilante was unaffected by the spell. As teh effect subsides, thye vigilante stares at Raven with murderous contempt. "Attack me, will you?" The vigilante turns his guns on Raven and fires a deadly shot that hits her squarely and with tremendous force. The Ghost shakes his head in anattempt to clear his head of the pain from the shot he just took. He was in no condition to do more than hear Raven's call for discussion. He blinked in surprise when he heard the vigilante fire again, but this time, not at him. Sounds as if she ticked him off. As long as he's not shooting at me, I can live with that! Lady Fortune truly does watch over me.

    The job OOC

Instead of stringing out the rolls, I did mutliple rolls in one post. The first was your HP grapple check followed by his opposed Grapple, finally came his toughness save. Only the first roll was for Heavy's grapple. The rest was the demon.
