Heavy easily grabs a hold of the down demon but it takes him a short time to get a proper hold. The demon is still strong even after the drain and it takes a little effort before Heavy can turn his superior strength on it. As he pummels the demon he notes that his leverage isn' t good enough to deal a devastating blow. "You're weak, mortal. Already I feel my strength returning." Even as it speaks, Heavy feels the creature struggle against the force keeping him down.

Ghost looked around the corner and realized that his movement was detected by both of the people. So much for remaining unnoticed. Sometimes, Lady Fortune, you just make my life more interesting. The sewers are a maze of pipes that carry not only the wastes of the city to the refuse center but it also carried gas lines as well as power lines from place to place. With the large number of supers running around, the city had taken extensive damage. Most of that damage was above ground where it was easy to notice what was wrong and fix it right away. Occasionally, the damage over the course of time slowly wore down even those areas not directly effected by the powered battles above ground. One such pipe just happened to be located near the vigilante and just at that moment decided to burst sending a stream of boiling water at the man. Raven, through her enhanced vision saw the level of magic flow from the wounded man trying to hide around the corner until it filled the complete tunnel. Both the vigilante and herself were surrounded by the magic that seemed to originate from the wounded man. For the most part, the magic simply coated everything in the tunnel. A quick examination of herself showed that even she was covered in the magical energy. It didn't seem to do anything but coat everything in sight. Suddenly, a pipe burst near the vigilante sending a jet of boiling water at the man. The man grunted out in slight pain but still fired his gun. The man had incredible aim as the bullet manages to catch Ghost right before he can duck back behind the corner. A grunt of pain is heard after the shot. Even Raven knows that the vigilante had shot to kill.

Heavy's blow is unlike any he's every given! Not only is the large Demon before him unable to avoid the contact but Heavy can litterally see the creature's muscles shake violently from the extreme pressures placed upon it. It roars out in pain as it quickly drops to the ground. The sound of it impacting the ground is almost enough to drown out its screams of rage. Heavy takes a step back to avoid the sudden collapsing and he can see it struggling to get back into a fighting position. "Damn you! I will have your soul, mortal!" it roars out. Again, the beast's body seems to blink momentarily, as if the damage done to it has weakened its hoold on the world. It seems to take the creature longer to stabilize than it did earlier. Somehow, the beast is fighting not only to destroy Heavy, but remain in the world as well.

The blow easily hits the guard and there was enough power behind it to rock his world. The blaster staggers back slightly and it's clear that he is near being knocked out of this fight. The attack on his companion was just enough to give Magnet man time to clear his head. Though his breath came in small gasps, he still had the presence of mind to send another blast right at Belaphegor. With the Kickboxer not coming directly after him, Ghost knew that Lady Fortune had smiled upon him again. Time to take out the garbage. The Ghost moved slowly and quietly until he could get a look at the mentalist that was playing with his mind. Unlike the kickboxer who had been in a position near the chandiler, the mentalist was in a fairly safe location. The curtain rod that bounced off of the force field protecting him was still at the guard's feet. Not much to go on here. Come on. There's got to be something for Lady Fortune to place in my direction. Nearby, the broken roullete table remained in pieces. Just as Ghost was wondering how his luck will work, the battle on the other side of the room was fully underway. The guard that showed magnetic abilites had just recovered enough to send a blast of magnetic force at Belphagor. The highly charged magnetic field reached out and managed to grab hold of the loose metal from the roullette table. The metal began to move and just as luck would have it, the mentalist guard had just stepped into the path. [bludgeoning Toughness DC 20] The Ghost smiled as his luck seemed to take form again. I hope that's enough to drop him, though.

Ghost looked at the small device and listened to the details of the job. He keeps his thoughts to himself for a while as he studied the relationship between the two men. After a moment, he spoke up. "So far, I've heard what you want but not what you're offering in exchange for my services. What do I get out of this deal? It would be me putting my neck on the line."
-
Yes, only one initiative.

The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish
MBCE replied to Ecalsneerg's topic in The Boardwalk
It doesn'T take the elevator long to reach the sub basement. As the doors begin to open, Arrowhawk takes up a defensive posture. It seems the added percaution passes off as a blast of electricity flies by his head. With the doors open, Arrowhawk sees that he is in a room filled with tables and boxes. Upon the tables are clear packages of white powder. Before the door a short distance away, Arrowhawk sees the source of the electric blast. A costumed man with his arm pointed at the open elevator stood before the tables. Beyond the man, another door could be seen. "Looks like I get to work for my paycheck after all. I hope you turn out to be worth the effort." -
All finished with this? It's been a few months since the last IC post.

Just checking around. Is this still open?

The Ghost's eyes widen when he hears the strange woman had decided to help the vigilante capture him. Now I really got to get out of here! No telling what they plan on doing to me if they catch me. Just when he was ready to leave, Ghost smiled to himself. Perhaps Lady Fortune can help me out before I leave. He turned back and crept back to the intersection where he could see both of the figures. The vigilante looked at Raven closely as she layed down demands. "Perhaps you can'T hear. I don't need to promise you anything. Don't think just because I haven'T capped you yet means you're not in my sights. Go back where you--" The man stopped in mid sentence as he caught movement beyond the woman. He raised his gun sighting his target.

The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish
MBCE replied to Ecalsneerg's topic in The Boardwalk
The elevator opened after a short while to reveal a small empty space. Stepping into the elevator, Arrowhawk notes that there was only a button to head down to the subbasement. The size of the eleveator is fairly small, only large enough for two people at the most which gives the impression it was mostly for personal use. The doors did not have windows on them so heading down could be dangerous if someone was waiting for him to come. -
Got it. Put up a map to show positions a little better as well. Should be easy to understand. I figure each square is about 2ft or so. As her detect magic ability is accurate but not acute, Raven would be able to target the magic but not tell much about it.
-
When Raven looks about with her enhanced vision, she sees that the man she was just talking to is covered in magical energy. The field of magical energy seems to flow with him as he moves further away from her position. From the way that he entered, however, she finds no signs of magic. As her voice reaches out to the hunter, he stops a short distance away but with her still in sight. He watches her closely trying to figure out what she was doing between himself and his prey. "And who are you to ask anything from me? You're not with the Freedom League, so why don't you let me finish taking out the garbage." The man stood in the shadows, two guns in each hand but lowered at the moment. The Ghost had moved around the corner a short distance and stopped when he heard the two talking. Great, now she's talking with him. I need to get out of here before they decide to team up and hunt me down!
-
Ghost frowned at the question. He searched his mind on information on the name. He had heard of the place but not really much beyond the fact that it was some scientific place in Hanover. Why would he be interested in that place? Not really one of the things I'm known to hit. "Albright Institute? Not really. Why don't you fill me in and stop dragging this out. I do have things to do."
-
And who do people send the stories to? Will any Ref work? Just PM the stories to a Ref?
-
The Ghost watched as the room cleared of all but the three of them. He moved over to the offered seat and sat down. He nodded his head, "I know the deal. If you had checked up on me before conatact, you would already know I keep my mouth shut which is why it is so difficult to get a hold of me. Your invovlement will not be mentioned." Ghost looked at the table and leaned slightly forward. "Now, tell me. What is it that you have in mind?"
-
GM sections will be in all Bold. Also, Ghost is a grown man, 26years old. He's no boy. :)
-
The Ghost blinked his eyes as the woman spoke. Oh, a newbie. This one is as weird as that Contour fella I met the other day. "Give you a reason? I have no idea why he would want me dead. Why don't you head on up to the surface and ask him yourself. I'm the one bleeding here and I don'T intend on remaing anywhere that he can get me." The Ghost kept his voice calm as he spoke. Some distance away, still up on the surface, the vigilante peered down the manhole. Slowly he studied the area and smiled when catch sight of the trail of blood around the edge. Good. He went underground. That keeps things out of sight from the cops and the other heroes running around. I can finish this guy off fairly easily. Slowly the man dressed in black slipped down into the sewers after his wounded prey. The ghost's eyes go wide as he catches the slight sound of something dropping into water. "Woman, he's here!" Ghost whispered urgently. "I'm definitely not going to stick around talking to you!" The Ghost turned on the woman and began moving silently further down the sewer.
-
The Ghost whirls around in surprise as the huge figure appears. My goodness! What in the world is he? As he felt the man's aura reach out towards him, Ghost attempted to hide his unease at meeting with the man. "Hmm. This might be very interesting afterall." The ghost slowly followed Maximus into the building. His pace was slow but steady and he hoped that the armored man would not notice the slight shake in his hands. Once he entered the room, he let his eyes roam around to get a better understanding of the layout, but he stayed near the wall. If this guy tries anything funny, I'm out of here! "So, what do you have in mind, Mr. Grey?"
