Light spilled into the sewer causing a pack of rats to scurry away from the sudden intrusion. The few rodents brave enough to remain in place quickly scatter as Sammy fell to the muddy water covered ground. It took Sammy a moment before he began to lift himself out of the muck. He slowly wiped his mouth with the back of his arm leaving a slight trail of blood upon his face. Damn, that hurt. Sammy looked at his arm to inspect the damage he recieved earlier that night. The small amount of light that filtered into the area was just enough for him to see that the bullet had went completely through. Seems Lady Fortunte was watching out for me afterall. Slowly Sammy got to his feet and looked about his surroundings. He had entered the sewers near Liberty Park as he tried to escape. Home is somewhere to the south, but this tunnel runs east and west. Great. Sammy looked both directions trying to decide which way would lead him home when the sound of movement from above caught his attention. Crap! He's coming after me! I've got to get out of here fast. Without any further thought on the matter, Sammy began moving through the sewers to the east.

General Luck roll High is good (1d20=2) Initi: South/north (1d20+3=15, 1d20+3=20) South men (x2): Def +6 (+2Flat footed) Toughness +3(+1ff) F:4, R:9, W:6 Damage +5 Attack +4 North men (x3): Def +6 (+2Flat footed) Toughness +3(+1ff) F:4, R:9, W:6 Damage +5 Attack +4 All five men are minions so you can roll toughness for them. They fail, they drop. The women afford the men to the south slight cover, granting +2 to their DEF. Roll initiative and place it here and if you beat the 20, then post your actions. Even if you don'T beat them, post some kind of thoughts on the situation before I post the baddies attack. The north people will be firing as they have clear shots. The south group look to be trying to move passed the women to get to Arrowhawk.

The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish

Arrowhawk moved like quicksilver, his actions well cordinated and performed. It was only seconds before he found himself inside the building and in the empty room. Without paying any heed to his surroundings, he kicked the far door opened to reveal a corridor running north and south. Unfortunately, the passageway wasn't empty. To the south, Arrowhawk sees about three women in party dresses. Two of which he remebers entering while he was watching the entrance. Just beyond them, the hero can see two men come into view with blaster pistols in hand. The women offer slight cover to these men as they are caught off guard by Arrowhawk's sudden appearance. The hero takes a look to the north and sees three other men drawing their blaster pistols. The path to these three are clear but they seem to have been already in the corridor when Arrowhawk made his appearance. They are quicker to respond to his presence. It's clear to the hero that they are about to fire upon him. Just beyond the three northern men, Arrow hawk spies another door. -
I'll be advancing Capricia's part of the thread within 24 hours.

Before I process your last action, I'd like to clear the air on how I'll be running the thread. Please let me know how you feel about any of these whether you dislike them or not. This is your thread and I am here to simply to make it interesting for you. Okay. Arrowhawk makes the masterplan and will recieve a +2 bonus on all skill checks and attack rolls once you call for 3 rounds when you call for it. Just let me know when you're going to start using it. As for actions, I will assume you are taking 10 on your skill mastery skills unless you give me a roll for them. So, in that first post, you have him running "forward as quietly as he could". He will take the -5 penalty on the skill as you put "run" in your sentence. Is that acceptable? If not then I'll assume that he is moving at half speed whenever you say he is trying to use the stealth skill. In combat, I'll list the toughness and saves of all minions. You can roll their results yourself and include the information in your post. It will speed things up greatly. Major people that you fight, I will roll their toughness and saves so try to leave your posts open for results. I'll let you know here if they are normal or not. I will also list the DEF for all NPCS so that you will know in advance whether you hit or not. If there is anything special you would like to see happen in this thread let me know here so that I can see about incorperating it into the story. As soon as I get your opinion on the above, I'll advance the story line.

Sammy nods his head. "Well I'll make sure to look out for it when you get a chance to get your work here. Can I assume it will be under the name Contour?"

The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish
MBCE replied to Ecalsneerg's topic in The Boardwalk
Arrowhawk sets up on a nearby building and spends the next few hours checking out the building. At first glance, it seems that Lenny's information on the palce is right on. Two large guards watch the door and the people that enter the building. Neither have any visible weapons, but they are dressed in suits so Arrowhawk is sure that a small weapon could be hidden upon them. Entering the building, he sees a few patrons, mostly well dressed men with a few women on their arms. He counts a total of ten people entering the building while he watches it. None exit the main entrance while he's watching. After a while, he moves about the building trying to get a better feel of the location. The second floor has about three windows located in positions that he can enter fairly easily without being seen from the main entrance or anyone in the back. One is located on the east side of the building. From what little he can see, it opens into a bathroom. The second option is slightly north of the first window. This one seems to open into an unsued room. He can't make out what is inside it but there doesn't seem to be anyone inside. The last option for entrance on the second floor is on the west side of the building. It opens into a room next to one that seems to be a bedroom. Presently there is no one using it. From the rear, which faces south, Arrowhawk spies three guards. One stands near a door while another paces along the loading dock. The pacer carries an assualt rife as he keeps watch on the area while the stationary man carries what looks like an uzi. The third man walks the small alleyway from end to end, watching the main road for any approaching cars. He doesn't seem to carry any visible weapons, but again, dressed in a suit like the men in front, Arrowhawk is sure that is armed. A midsized truck pulls up to the loading dock and from out of the building, Arrowhawk spies three more men coming out ot unload the vehicle. Form his higher position, he is unable to get a look inside of the building, but he does hear voices of at least three more men. From the truck, the men unload five unmarked crates and take them inside. Once the crates are safely inside of the building, the guard at the door comes to the driver and hands him a thick brown envelop. The two men shake hands with the driver smiling widely as he checks the contents of the envelop before driving off. -
It depends on how long you plan on watching the place I would think. Also, it would most likely mean what kind of plan you come with. What you've listed so far I think is fairly good execpt I haven't given you the information on what you find. Once I give you that information, you can give a general plan simliar to what you posted already. That would work for MAster Plan I think.

No big ones except to lay ground work for The Ghost's next job. :)

Sammy looks back at the painting again for a moment before shaking his head. "No. I have an appreciation of the arts, but no skill in creating it myself. Sculptures are just to bulky for me. They're heavy, hard to move around, and take up too much space." Sammy blinks slightly as he realizes that he might have said too much. He gives a nervous laugh as he tries to draw attention away from his words. "I used to work for a museum. They had me help set up exhibits from time to time." Unsure if he had managed to divert the man's attention from his slip, Sammy decides to change the subject. "So, you sculpt? I would love to see your work sometime."

yes, waiting for a toughness save for Capricia DC 27. As for Ghost and the vault, he never even got to the vault before the security arrived. They came out when he was trying to move into the money cage that leads to the vault. He has the code for the vault though.

Just PM me and we'll get things started then. For now, I'll close up the thread.

The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish

Lenny nods his head. "Okay. It's the Mancini family. they've started a little casino of their own in hopes of taking power away from the Driogano Family. Unlike Don Doriogano, Don Mancini seems to be doing double duty at his place if you get what I mean. From there you might be able to get some useful information. And if you do manage to take them down, it might be just the stepping stone to alert the mob that they need to watch their backs." Lenny smiles broadly. "they usually open their doors at night, only letting the high rollers in to get the biggest buck for their limited operation time. Usually their clients tend to be yuppie businessmen trying to impress their eye candy. They also have a number of more nefarious clients come to relax so perhaps someone there might lead you to a deeper level." "There are usually two men at the door, checking all those that enter for weapons," says Lenny as he begins drawing in the dirt of the alley. He sketches out a rough diagram of a building, pointing out the features that he knows about. "There's a loading dock in back as well, but I don'T know how many people are back there. I try not to get too close to teh place as it would ruin my reputation with the other people of the Boardwalk. Any shady business the Mancini family are doing would most likely done on the second floor, out of sight of the normal guests." Again Lenny looked up at Arrowhawk. "As the information isn't much, I'll give it ot you for free. Just my way of welcoming you back to the city. If you manage to do well enough, we start doing some real business." -
The beauty of the site is that you can play in multiple threads at once. There is no need to wait unless you would rather do it that way. The only way to get more than one pp a month is to play in multiple threads. But the choice is yours. I also hate loose ends which is why I offered. I ahve no problem putting it to bed until you're ready to start up again. Just let me know.

So, would you like to finish the story? I could take over, making a solo game for you so that you could at least play out your character as it seems nareik123 is MIA. If you do, let me know what you want to get out of the thread I'll see what I can do for you.

Is there anything special you're looking to do in this thread? Is simply talking with Sammy enough or were you looking for something more?

OOC: Shows I need to either stop posting late at night or make sure to reread what I typed before posting. Sammy has no problems with the quick hand shake. Once the contact is broken he turns towards one of the paintings hanging upon the wall. It was a beatuiful night scene with stars in the sky. "Now this is one I've had my eye on for some time now. It's a Van Gogh. The city has it on loan for their autumn exhibition. What I wouldn't do to have that in my possesion." Sammy gave a wishful sigh before turning back to Contour. "I guess I just have to settle for a print from the gift shop."

Belphegor's claws rip through the man causing the man to lose his concentration, opening him up to more pain and damage. The Ghost manages to catch his breath as the kickboxer's blow sails by his bent form. That was too close. I need space. The thief looked up at the electrical wires that were connected to the chandiler. He smiled slightly as a plan began to form in his head. The wires, exposed now were still swinging free. Ghost watched as one of the wires managed to touch the kickboxer as it swung by. At that exact moment, the city grid expereinced a power surge. Most of the breakers within the casino were strong enough to absorb the extra power, but the exposed wire did not. Electricty flowed unhindered into the kickboxer. [Electrical DC 20 toughness] Ghost didn't wait around to see the results as he moved quickly towards the cover of the slot machines. Within the rows of machines, he hoped to have enough cover to lose the kickboxer.

Lucky me. But that does open up a question that I have for you. The mentalist knew that ghost had used his powers. I'm wondering how he could manage that. First off, let me say I have no problems with how you did it, but for future reference I need to be sure I understand how things will work. Ghost's blast is sublte 1 with the condition that magical awareness can notice it with ease. As I understand the power feat, everything else would not be able to notice the power source. Is that a correct understanding? Even if a mental could notice the use of the power, wouldn'T they need to establish a 'link' through mind reading first? That would mean Ghost would get a save against the power and then if he wins, no information for the mentalist, right? Again, it is just a question I ahve for future reference. We'll paly it out the way you've already started it to save on any confusion. Thanks.

Lenny gave a quick laugh, "Ha! You really are new in town. Everyone knows who the Dons are. You just can't touch them unless you want to be hunted down yourself. Besides, why should I give you information on mob activities? Though I'm not a made man and can never be one, I'm still smart enough not to cross their path." Lenny takes a moment to study the hero silently for a while. "But, I think I might know something for you. There seems to be a small faction with little power these days. Depending on how well you can clean up their mess, I might have a little more information for you next time. You interested?" -
Looks to be that way. Now Shui can start a new thread somewhere trying to learn who that metal man was. :D
