The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish
MBCE replied to Ecalsneerg's topic in The Boardwalk
Lenny shrugged his shoulders and took a drag on the cigarette, "Suit yourself." As he smoked, he listened to Arrowhawk introduce himself. He smiled when the hero was finished. "I might have heard of you after all. So you're back in town, huh? And someone sent you to find me." The informer takes another drag on his cigarette before dropping it to the ground and stepping on it. "So what do you want with me? What are you looking for this time?" -
Ghost has 2 Bruises and is stunned. Kickboxing Jamaican Man has 1 Bruise. 3 of Capricia's 4 Thugs are KOd. Everyone else is unharmed.

The sudden dropping of the room's temperature causes a few people upon the floor to scream out in pain. The three security guards however, all manage to resist the draining effect of the cold. The leader turns his attention upon Capricia as he realizes that she was more of a threat to the people in the casino than the demon ever was. His job was clear. To protect the casino from bing robbed. Secondary was to protect the patrons. But even he had problems with a room full of bystanders getting wasted. A few dying in the crossfire was acceptable. Losing them all was not. He turned away from the demon and charged Capricia. His momentum was enough to allow him to hit the woman. Even as the leader moved, the remaining two went to work on the remaining members of the gang. Another stunning blast catches the two remaining thugs but only one drops. With the cowboy clear of the demon's grip, the magnetic man turned his powers upon the demon. A blast of magnetic power flew out at the demon, but at teh last moment, Belphegor managed to sidestep the attack. The kick catches Ghost squarely and the force of the blow is enough to drive the air from his lungs. The thief doubles up in pain as he tries to regain his wind.

Well, unless Shui can think of a way to follow Icarus, I'd have to agree the encounter is pretty much over. Shui can put up a concluding post before the thread gets locked down so there's still one more chance for Shui to keep this alive if he wants. Ball's in your court Kavos.

The Quicker You Start, The Quicker You'll Finish
MBCE replied to Ecalsneerg's topic in The Boardwalk
Lenny looked at the hand for a moment and then up at the obvious hero. "Yes, you are new in town, aren't you?" Lenny looked upand down the boardwalk before gesturing to the alley next to the bar. "Come on off the street. I don't need people seeing me talk to you." Lenny walked briskly around the corner and into the darken alley. Once Arrowhawk entered the alley, he took out a cigarette and lit it. "You want a smoke?" he asked as he held the cigarette out to the hero. -
I don't see a reason for a change. It's easy enough to say that she failed her will save against the leader's fearsome presence and ran. With her ability to stay hidden, it wouldn'T be a problem at all. I know I've been slow on moving the action along and I plan to get to it after writing this. So we can decide what to do from there.

Sammy seems to be also impressed with the super's knowledge of sculptures. "Wow, I never did look at it like that before. I just find paintings more pleasing to the eye." Sammy shrugs his shoulders. "hey, you were the one that brought that danger made come looking for you. Hard to expect that to happen when you just arrived in the city. So I figured something must be chasing you. The city's filled with all kinds of supers, both good and bad. They don't all pop out to cause problems." Sammy suddenly slapped his forehead. "Darn! I forgot I never did introduce myself. The name's Sammy. Sammy Cosentino." He held his hand out in a friendly gesture for a shake.
-
Sammy has asked him if why he thought he would be attacked. Contour has yet to answer the question. So he was sensing him to figure why he wasn't answering.
-
Sammy did a sense motive roll on Contour here I know the roll was low, but lease do not ignore rolls. If Contour isn't going to answer the question Sammy asked, there needs to be an opposed bluff check.
-
Sammy shrugs his shoulders in return. "Lady Fortune watches out for me so what's a little risk in life?" Sammy does object from letting the super pay his way into the musuem. The way Sammy figured things, the guy owed him that much. "I like all kinds really. I tend to stay away from most of the more modern stuff that's come out in the past few years. There's just no taste these days." Sammy goes on to discuss a variety of paintings that he finds pleasing to the eye. "But I should be showing you around. This is my town and you're new. Let me point out some of the finer treasures here." As the two moved about the musuem, Sammy again brought up the question that Contour seemed to be ignoring. "So, where are you from? You running from somethign back home?"
-
Sammy gave a weak smile. "Yes, it is. So, why do you expect danger to come your way? Have you done something to upset someone somwhere?" Sammy watches him closely to see how he responds to his question. I wonder why he didn't answer my question about where he was from? Maybe he's not a hero.

That is very interesting. I don't think it's happened on the board yet, but then again I may be wrong. I don'T see a real problem with it if you're talking about the character's real name and not the super name you're going to use. Real life lends many people with the same last name which leads to many different situations. Besides, how often will you be going around using the name on the site? I would guess very little but it shouldn't be a problem.

Same here. I'm on the back burner here as it is just the two of you in the thread now. If you need me for anything else, let me know. YOu can play out the interaction with each other any way you wish as the Skinheads will not be able to do anything against you. I'll still be watching the thread so if something pops up, I'll be right on it.
-
Wow! And it only took me a week to realize the thread was up! Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I had a great birthday and am looking forward to many more!

OOC: Sammy has never said the word "hero" aloud. If you go back and reread the post you'll see that it so. I'll put speak bold from now on to make it clear what is actually said. IC: Sammy tilted his head as he regarded the strange man. "What? Do all Supers cause trouble where you're from? There are some good ones here in Freedom that help out from time to time." Even as he spoke, Sammy thought of all the supers that he ahd worked with. The first group had helped him steal the Aurora Diamond collection. The second group helped witht he job over at the Golden Calf Casino. "Besides, with you here, who would be foolish to cause trouble." Sammy gives a short laugh before gesturing to the inside of the gallery. "Would you care to have a look inside?"

Belphegor exerts his power upon the woman whose eyes widen in fear as she loses control of her emtions. "No! We're all going to die!" she yells as she stands and begins to run away from the confrontation. Even as she moved, the three security members kept their attention upon the demon and his hostage. The leader smiled as he noticed the demon's use of his powers. "Take them out boys!" he called as he moved towards the demon. The force guard quickly raised his hands and blasted out catching three of the goons that had come in with the demon. His blast, set for a wide arc hit with enough force to take down two of them. The magnetic boy turned his own powers upon the hapless cowboy within the demon's grip. His power latched upon the man's metal belt buckle. Belphegor felt the cowboy move slightly just before the leader reached him. He swung back with his fist but failed to connect as Belphegor turned just in time to avoid the blow. The Ghost rocked from the blow. He rolled slightly, putting his back to the wall. From his new position, the Ghost could see the guady chandieler above the guard that just hit him. The sudden snapping of the worn chain that held it in place was the only warning before it came crashing down upon his assailant. [Damage pentertrating DC 20 bludgeoning]

After a number of "jobs" done within the city of Freedom, Sammy realizes that his skills were sorely lacking. Determined to do something about the situation, Sammy searched out Lenny. Lenny informed him that at the Arena there was the chance ot improve his skills. taking the man at his word, Sammy travelled back to the derilict oil rig where the mysterious Legend met him. Legend lead him to another section of the rig where various doors held rooms to fine tune a person's skills in a more private manner than the very public fighting arena where most of the villians showed off their abilities. Sammy went through a number of trials that stretched his abilities to their fullest. Each task he had to perform was different and worked on a different skill. Though he was unable to defeat all of the tasks, Sammy did improve greatly. Armed with his new mastery of his abilities, Sammy headed back to town to see about the job that Capricia Chili had set up.

Since eyeonthemountain has no problem with it, we can simply ignore those posts and pick up as if there was no interruptions with the two.

Sammy thnks on the question for a while before answering. He remebered the two heroes or whatever they were that tried to stop him from robbing the Delphic Industries earlier in the year. He then recalled the two heroes that showed up while he was trying to get the Aurora Diamond collection. Slowly Sammy nodded his head. "Yeah, they seem to pop up at the strangest times. It gets to a point where a fella can't go about his daily routine without one or another pops up to showboat." Sammy takes a moment to look at the people beginning to stare at the hero. "Hmmm, do you really need to be out here on the streets like this? I'm not one that likes to have people staring at him."
-
The obvious leader stared at the demon as he threatened the patron. After a moment, he spoke. "And you seem to think that I care. I and my men are not Freedom leaguers. We're paid to protect the Casino from being robbed. So give me the excuse I need to explain to the cops when they finally show up." The man smiled wickedly that sent a shiver of emotions at all within 25 feet of him. OOC: Fearsome Presence DC 15 Will save needed The Ghost stopped and looked back at the two men. Mentalist, huh? Never encountered one them before. Got to admit ahving someone project thoughts in my head is unnerving. The Ghost smiled at the man that kept staring at him. He turned his own abilities upon the intrusive man and the curtain rod above him broke from its fastenings, falling on top of the man. OOC: Damaging attack Tough DC 20 [bludgeoning, Penertrating]

No. without buying the subtle power feat on a power, they are considered noticeable. So anyone looking at Neurologic will see that she is the source of the power. Taking a look at the sheet shows that all of her powers would be obvious to anyone looking at her. The force field, flight, the TK, everything. I also need you to make a to hit roll on Contour and I need Contour to do a Dex check to catch it, please. As I stated earlier:
-
Not a problem. I'll make an OOc list to keep things clean here.
-
Here's teh OOC list for the main thread. Golentan, are you trying to hit Contour or simply send the painting near the hero? In the first case, you'll need to make a to hit roll against his Def, not bluff. The bluff roll we'll hold for him trying to conceal his invovlement to the crime. If you don'T intent to damage Contour, then Contour will only need to make his own Dex check Dc 5. If you do intend to harm Contour than he needs to make a DC 15 dex check to catch it. All of my GM posts will be in bold while my character posts, Sammy/The Ghost. will be normal.

Sammy attempts to keep a straight face as the hero speaks again but he fails to do so. With laughter in his words, Sammy shakes his head in reply. "Well with that attitude, you'll find that the city a very enjoyable place to live!"

For those who can't wait, try using Irony's dice roller. It should solve most problems at the moment.
