Shui hits and staggers the thug. Icarus maanges to release the buildings from his effect and hfind no lifesigns in the downed building. Icarus also hears the sound of water hitting the sid eof the truck. The norseman and Colton remain stunned. ROUND 12 ---
-
Shui's water blast hits the thug with devestating force that rocks his world. Water splashes against the truck and Icarus can easily hear the water splattering against the side of the truck. Icarus checks on the fallen building but determines that no people were in it. He quickly excludes them from the effects of his power. The thugs agains try to stand but fail to resist the force upon them. The wounded thug near the collapsed building takes the chance to run from the battlefield just as the lone thug upon the building darts pass the stunned hero and into the building.

I was hoping to see a post from the other two players in the thread, but I guess they are busy or not interested in finishing the story. Sorry for the hold up. I'll advance now.

Might as well. It would at least get us prepared for the combat. Ghost Initiative (1d20+1=19)
-
The Ghost knew that he had little time to make a decision. Seeing a near by bush, the theif quickly hid behind it, trusting that his luck would hold out and the officer would pass him by. Teh hidding place wasn'T the best of locations, but it was the only one he had within reach. Teh officer moved closer and closer to his location and Ghost began to sweat. The officer's planned route would put him within a few feet of Ghost's location and that would mean almost certain detection. Ghost held his breath, ready to make a dash for safety. Suddenly, the officer began stopped as he listened to a report on his walkie talkie. News of the fight at the museum had reached the normal police. He began running towards the museum, leaving the Ghost's path to fredom clear. 'Ah, Lady thank you again,' Ghost pryaed as he moved quickly to the monorail and made his escape.

Though was never really a big fan of the man, I did love seeing a Chicagoan succeed. Perhaps it is my love for the home town. He surely will be missed. You know, they come in three......

OOC: All my GM posts will be bold. The sudden appearance of the thugs carrying guns drew the attention of almost everyone in the casino. The sudden ice sparks hitting the lighting fixtures drew even more attention. Capricia's words followed by the sudden appearance of the demon threw the room into panic. People began dropping to the ground in droves while the security guards nearest the intruders crouched in stunned confusion. Against normal theives, they would gladly do their job. But against a woman that could shoot ice and a demon, they knew better than to stick their knecks out. Besides, ten dollars an hour wasn't worth facing a super in any event! Back, hidden behind the walls of the casino, the real security watched the scene unfold on the various hidden cameras throughout the casino's gorund floor. Looks like we actually get to work for our pay. This should be fun. The lone man stood and cracked his knuckles as he slowly began to make his way towards the main floor. As he passed a group of people, he made a gesture. "Come on boys. Looks like we get to work for our money today." The five men quickly grabbed their gear and fell into step behind their leader. The Ghost nodded his head as heard the numbers being rattled off. "Well, let's see if this works after all," he whispered back even as he followed the general movement of the crowd. He lowered himself to the gorund but began to move quickly towards the cage and the treasures it held.

Sorry about the lateness. Never knew the topic was up. It looks good the way you wrote it up.

It seems we have an abundance of Refs here in this thread. How should we go about playing out the heist? If we split the work up between refs, it should keep thigns interesting for all. I see at least two different groups, Ghost and Whisper in one and Capricia and the Demon (sorry haven'T gotten the name down yet) in the other. Any suggestions as to what people want to do?
-
According to the plan, the Ghost and Whisper were to enter first and position themselves near teh money cage. When Capricia made her entrance and created the distraction, they were to make their move. Ghost had to wait for the combination to come his way from Whisper's observation. Ghost, his own protections up and running, had set himself up near the slot machines that were stationed near the money cage. He didn'T fear being seen by the mechanical security devices placed around the csino with his own ability to avoid detection already in place. He slowly placed coins into the machine as he waited for the others to react. 'I hope this goes well. The last time I worked with a group of supers didn'T go too well. I hope they don'T bail out on me.' The Ghost took his time looking over the main floor of the casino. He frowned at the gaudy use of gold everywhere. From wall coverings to the chandeliers, the place was covered in gold. Even the safe behind the money cage was covered with the unmistakable sheen of the yellow material. The Ghost sighed as he waited for the action to begin. He had counted only a handful of security gurads on duty, but he knew there were a few plain clothes guards scattered through the area, not to mention the heavy bruisers that most casinos kept in the back areas. The Ghost turned back to his slot machine, ready to put in another coin when the main doors burst opened and Capricia and her goon walked in. The Ghost flinched in surprise just like the others in the casino and took a moment to look towards the group. His eyes widen when one of the men changed into a demonic form and called for everyone to get down. 'Where did she find that bloke?' Ghost thought as he began to lower himself down. He knew it would be best to at least seem like any of the other patrons in the casino to draw less attention to his actions. He continued to wait for Whisper's infromation before moving closer to the cage.

I have no problems with that. Should be fun seeing exactly what the new meat, uh demon, can do. :)

Sammy bent over, letting the sweat dripping from his face pool at his feet. His breath came in ragged gasps and he felt like he had just played a full game of basketball. After a moment, Sammy looked up at the field before him. The floor was covered with various strings that crisscrossed the area. Attached to the various strings were small bells. Sammy learned the hard way that tripping one of the strings and ringing the bell would send out a blast of heat his way. The first blast was only an annoyance, but the temprature in the room had steadily increased after each blast. The room was now a suana and he still had to transverse the room again. Each time he crossed, another obstruction was introduced to the test to make it even more difficult. His break over, Sammy began to work his way back across the field.

Ghost shakes his hands defensively with a smile plastered upon his face. "No, no. Not at all. I prefer not to have attention swing my way anyway. This way, I'm more like my namesake." He looks down at the map again and nods his head. "Well, I guess we had better go and get into position. Whisper will most likely show up at the casino."
-
You right, he does need to make a notice check. To save time, I'll do the roll now. Notice check DC 20 (1d20+9=21) And it looks like he has it. But this does bring up a point. The subtle feat makes a power more difficult to detect its usage but the results are still noticeable, right? So far Norseman has seen Icarus do a number of groundstrikes, knocking people to the ground. The cause and result is easy to see. A physical hit of the ground causes the results. The source of the power is clear. Now my question is does the subtle feat hide the source of the power, the power itself, or both?
-
Ghost shook his head. "No, haven't seen her. The way she slips around invisible and all, she just might be standing around now." He moved closer to the diagram and smiled at the crude figures. "Hmm, you're no artist that's for sure, but it's pretty clear as to where everyone needs to be." The Ghost points at teh money cage. "Here's teh money cage, so I'll take up position over here at the slot machines. It'll give me a clear view of the cage as well as place me fairly close to cut down on movement time. If you place a few of your men here, near the entrance, and here, near the service entrance, we should be able to limit the amount of extra players that might want to cut in on our action." Ghost looks up at Capricia and smiled. "Where do you want to be when we get started? I'm not sure where your particular skills will be most useful."

The villians finish off the last robot and rush into the back room where they find various crates filling the room. To the north they see a large portal that looks something right out of the television shows. Crackling blue energy marks the portal and they can see the men in battle armor tossing crates through the energy. One of the men spot the villians and curses, "They finished off the robots! Quick, get the stuff out of here." The other men each grab one last box before disappearing through the portal. The last man, moves to teh edge of the portal generator and begins pushing buttons. Seeing the men trying disappearing through the portal, the villians all fire with their various weapons at either the portal or the man operating the machine. Their combine attack easily destroys the portal, trapping the lone man on this side. It takes very little time for the villians to subdue the mercenary and remove his battle armor. "You don't know what you've gotten yourself into! They'll find and then you'll wish you never were born." The villians laughed at the merc. "We don't care. We're getting paid for this job and anything beyond it won't matter. At least you'll never know what happens." The merc screamed as the villians made sure he would not be able to spread any tales. With the merc dealt with, the group quickly searched the warehouse and found the indicated boxes. Only three were left. The rest must had been taken by the men that got away. The villians took what they could and quickly departed the scene before more attention could be drawn to their location. After a short phone call, the boxes were delievered and they were paid. Yamaguchi sat looking at the three boxes and frowned. He had hoped to get more out of the deal than just the three, but something was better than nothing. He would just have to make due with what he had. He placed his hand upon of the boxes and smiled broadly. Now he had an important piece of the puzzle. Yes, a very important piece.

No, he's still PL 7. And I believe the highest low PL Villian on the board. I'd have to check that out though......

Legend led the way down the corridor pointing out the various rooms and their uses. "Behind each door," Legend began as he walked along with Sammy a few steps behind him, "you'll find everything you'll need to improve yourself. Most you'll find yourself alone to perfect yourself at your own pace. In others, you will find yourself face to face with various copies of people from the city." Sammy stopped as he considered Legend's words. "So you mean there are copies of heroes in here? How did you manage that?" The older man turned to regard Sammy for a moment in silence before speaking. "It was....managed. Though they are copies, you'll find them just as much a threat as if you faced them out in the streets. Don't expect to learn their weaknesses here. No, their presence is only to help you further your own training. The copies are not programmed with the same limits as the real versions." Sammy nodded his head in understanding. The arena was a much more extensive place than he at first thought. For that matter, Legend was a lot more than Sammy thought upon first sight. Something about the soft spoken man was distrubing to Sammy but at the moment, the location was all he had to perfect teh skills he had let fall to the wayside. "I'll try this room first," Sammy said pointing at a brown unmarked door. Legend smiled as he looked at the door. "A fine choice. Enjoy your time while you're here. I'm sure you'll find it an enlightening experience." Legend turned around and began walking back teh way they had come. Sammy stood before the door and waited until he was alone in the corridor. "Now that guy creeps me out," he said aloud. Sammy flinched as his voice echoed in the empty corridor. "Well, I had better get to this." Slowly, Sammy opened the door and walked inside.

Is it okay for me to go with the increases on Ghost with this thread? Again, it's your show so I don't want to overstep my bounds. They were mostly changes to his skills.

The Norseman strikes out again with his sword, this time the blow is more than enough to stagger the thug. He shuffles back a few steps away from the Norseman. He shakes his head trying ot clear it of the damage just done to him. Shui focused his water control into one massive blast that blew the thug. The blast hit with so much force that the man flew back into the ledge. Once Shui stopped the blast, the thug slumped forward unconcious. Colton stood with his weapon in hand, waiting to see what the Thug would do next. Icarus releases his hold on the two thugs behind him and then shifts his power to bring everything down around him. The sudden change in gravity reaches out to the distant car and van, slightly crushing them. The pull again drops the standing red skinned thugs to the ground. The lowest building caught within the area of effect was never made to resist such a sudden change and crashes in upon itself. Luckily, the building had already bee abandoned when the skinheads first made their appearance. The other buildings shake and strain from the increase of pressure but manage to remain standing. It's very clear to the Norseman that the armor wearing person moving into the truck was the cause of the sudden change in the area. Neither Colton nor Shui can see what causes their building to suddenly shake. The sudden shaking of the building causes the skinhead in front of Colton to drop his weapon as he struggled to remain standing. The two remaining thugs upon the distant building realize that their bullets are useless against Norseman and the sudden widespread damage that Icarus causes is more than enough to convince them to flee the scene. They dart to the roof top doorway and disappear inside.
-
Norseman manages to stagger his foe. Shui knocks out his opponent. Colton is skipped due to no post. Icarus brings down everything effecting the buildings with his gravity pull. two buildings are weakened structurly while one is brought down completely. Icarus also reaches the container and notes the damage to it has sustained. He can grab it in Rnd 11. ROUND 11

 I still have to wait until it reaches my part of the world. Man being over here really stinks at time. Oh, well. Just gives me something to look forward to later in the year. :D

Ah.... I still have to wait until August before I get to see it. At least I get to see all the hero flicks pretty much all near each other. Dark Knight, Hulk, Iron Man, Hancock. This is going to be a busy summer for me!

As it looks like two of the characters have been archived, Badb and Void, and the lack of posting from anyone else, I believe this thread is finished. However, I hate seeing a story stop dead so I'll wrap this up in the next few days just to have it finished.

I saw we keep things all the same. If the benefit feat is needed to use Knowledge [Tactics] with Master Plan, then we should use it for other skills and communication. If people want to be able toc ommunicate messages through jaron, then it needs to be a language or a Benefit. Using it as a benefit works better than a straight out language though. Of course, understanding the message is going to set fairly high DCs on the related knowledge checks.
