I'll be advancing things later after I get back from work.

There'sd a knock at the door before it opens slowly to reveal, the Ghost. He takes a moment to look over the new faces before moving further into the room. He closes the door behind him and smiled at Capricia. "I see you got some help for the job. Good. More to keep the things from getting to difficult for us." As he moved into teh room, Capricia noticed that the man moved slightly different from the last time she saw him. He was more controlled. As if the past few days had given him time to improve his skills. The Ghost looked over at teh rough sketch and smiled. "Well, I guess it's going to have to do for us. Do they know what they'll be called to do?"

Thanks for the catch! I'll simply increase teh force field to rank 5 then. That is the easiest method. I've made the change above.

No rush. It's your show. This way, I should be able to slip in some edits on Ghost before the action starts. :D
-
It is fine. No need to rewrite your post other than it's going to take you an extra movement to get into the truck to get the cansiter. I'll PM the information you learn about the crack.
-
I need to make some things clear. First off, the canister is still within the truck, though the doors are open. Icarus needs to make a DC 15 notice check to notice that the canister has been cracked. A Dc 20 notice will reveal the extent of the damage to the canister.

Sorry for the delays. Hope everyone had a great weekend! Here you go! ------------------------- The container has been damaged. ROUND 10 The van looks like it's going to try plowing its way through the barricade that the police have put up.

The Norseman swings his sword with all his strength behind the blow only to see the red skinned thug get stunned. He shakes his head to clear it. Within the cover of the mist, Shui strikes out quickly dropping another thug. Colton's bullets again spray about taking out one of the thugs, but only grazing one. With his weapon empty, Colton drops the weapon and quickly draws his sword and puts on a menacing look that does little against the skinhead. Icarus slams his hands down upon the ground and another shockwave rockets out to shake the two thug's footing. Unable to resist the heaving of the earth below them, the two thugs fall prone to the ground. It seems that luck really isn't on the skinheads side as the truck that they were holding fall awkwardly upon them. The constant juggling of the truck causes a small crack to the cesium container. The thug lowers his gun at Colton and smiles as he fires. Unfortunately, his aim is less than stellar as bullets fly pass the hero. Bullets again fly out hitting the Norseman who simply ignores the weak projectiles. With his buddy falling in the mist, the thug swings his weapon around and fires blindly into the area. bullets fly near Shui but luckily, they all miss. Down below, two of the normal thugs get in the van and back up onto the street. Behind Icarus, the two thugs manage to stand up though the strength is obvious upon their faces. Before him, the two thugs attempt to push the truck off but only one manages to free himself.

The Ghost took one more look about the display area to make sure he didn't leave a diamond behind. He smiled as he turned away and began moving towards the stairs and freedom. As he moved down the stairs, the sounds of battle outside altered him to the presence of the supers outside. 'Hmm, it seems the others actually did help with something after all. Well, maybe I'll be willing to give them a little bit afterwards.' Ghost moved quickly towards the back entrance far from the noise of battle. Once he reached the back area, he place his hands against the wall and began the slow process of moving through the wall. Again he felt the tingling sensation caused by whatever field they ahd placed to stop teleportors from easily entering the building. Once outside, the Ghost moved quickly to the monorail. If luck was still on his side, he'd manage to catch the next rail before any of the heroes realized that the diamonds were taken. The path to the station had a few places to hide as he moved along. Just as he was about to leave the last bit of cover granted by a large tree, Ghost noticed the cop in front of the station. 'Woah. That would have been bad if I stepped out there! He would have seen me for sure and I most likely would have been busted. The police must be very alert now that there's fighting going on over by the museum.' Ghost watched the cop for a few moments as he pondered his various options. A) He could try walking right into the station and hope that his luck holds. He could turn his luck onto the cop and knock him out. That of course would draw unwanted attention later. C) He could look for a different way to leave the scene since his original plan of escape, Red Queen, had decided to depart a lot sooner. The prosepect of footing his way back to a safe location did not sit well with the thief though. Even he didn't want to put his luck to that kind of a test. To make the situation worst, he still felt tired from the exertion of his powers. The mental strain as well as the physical one, ahd taken its toll upon the Ghost. There had to be a way to leave the scene before either more supers arrived or the ones already on the scene beat the information of his invovlement out of the others. Ghost looked back towards the museum as he tried to decide what to do next.

Sammy took his time as he spun the dail back and forth, listening for the various clicks. He smiled as he worked as the old fashioned security felt right to him. It was more in tune with his style of the world than the fast pace that most chose to follow in the city. Sammy's smile grew wider as he heard the last sharp click. 'Now, I get to see this box after all.' Within the safe was the item he was sent for. It clearly matched the picture he had of it: a stone-carved box, twelve by six inches, about four inches deep. Carved all over the exterior of the box with unusual runes. Sammy took a moment to simply bask in the moment of seeing his prize so close at hand. The runes on the box matched those found on the safe and the walls of the room. What they meant, Sammy simply had no way of telling and he really didn't care one way or the other. He was told to get the box and that was what he was going to do. Sammy slowly lifted the box and placed it into his pack. The instructions stated that the box was NOT to be opened, at any cost and Sammy intended to follow those instructions to the letter. Sure that the box was properly stowed, Sammy stood up and moved to the wall he entered. He reached out his hand and was surprised to find himself again unable to pass through. 'What the? I was able to move into the room. Why can't I move out?' Not wanting to waste teh time pondering the situation, Sammy moved quickly to the door of the room and opened it a crack. The res tof the floor was still dark and empty. 'Perhaps that nut with the guns got the guards' attention. Getting out should be much easier than getting in was.' Sammy counted to five before dashing back towards the stairs that he used to come up. In his haste to leave teh area, Sammy bumped into the doorframe of the room. The slight jolt unbalanced him, but he was soon able to regain his footing. Unknowingly however, the jar did more than upset his balanace. The unfortunate impact was jsut enough to weaken the seal upon the strange stone box within his pack. Other than the slight bump, Sammy "The Ghost" Costenino made it out of the Delphic building without encountering anyone else. The Ghost's first job in Freedom City was now complete. Now all he had to do was wait for the client to contact him with details on the package's delievery and payment method......

I wonder about the down the road bit though. Right now, with just the three core books, PHB, DMG, and MM, I don't see there being a whole lot of room in the future either. They make you change powers at set locations which isn'T too bad, but you're still limited in how you can use them. Limit usage, no double preparing of powers, stuff that made 3.5 fairly fun has been wiped out. I admit, I haven't really looked at higher levels yet. I tend to play from the beginning and find the holes as I go along. Hopefully, in future books they'll give more options and pick the holes my group has found already.

Journal entry 1 So it's been a while since I came to Freedom City and thought it would be a good idea to start a journal. It seems that the city is full of characters on both side of the law. So far, I've been fortunate enough not to run into any of the do gooders running about in tights. If I ever run afoul of one, I have no idea of what would happen. I'd most likely get my butt handed to me so it's best to avoid the situation as long as possible. I found a place called the Arena where people such as myself can enjoy a cool drink without worrying about the lae crashing in on the festivities. I like it. I meet a few interesting people there and together we decided to hit the Aurora Diamond collection that came to the city. Things looked fairly bright about the job. I even got a chance to visit another fella's base; a real high class place with heavy security all around. Too bad most of the security was using cameras and such. If I wanted to, I could have walked into that place so easy and caused a lot of trouble. Good thing that he was on my side. Unfortunately, I suspect he'll fix that little problem in his security.

This is the OOC thread for The Ghost's training post.

Sammy got out of the boat and was again greeted by Legend. "Welcome back, Ghost. I hope you enjoyed working with the people you meet here last time." Legend said as he led the way to the main building. Sammy frowned. "Not really. They all flaked out on me in the middle of the job. Fortunately, that increased my share of the loot, so I'm not that bitter." Sammy looked at teh main door as they passed it by and his frown deepened. "Uh, isn't that the way in?" Legend looked over his shoulder at Sammy and smiled. "Yes, normally it is but for today and your purposes, I'm taking you to a more useful location." A short walk brought the two to another door that Sammy never noticed on his first visit to the Arena. "The main entrance is for those that wish to relax and perhaps find people of like mind to interact with," Legend explained as he opened the door. "Here, in this part of the Arena, those looking for a place to perfect their non martial skills can find all the tools they need." The door opened to reveal a corridor with a number of doors spaced at various distances from each other. Sammy stopped and took a look outside of the building before again looking inside. As he had expected, his visiual sense of the derilict oil rig did not match what was within. "What is this place?" Sammy asked with a surprised look upon his face. Legend smiled as he walked into the corridor. "It's exactly what it needs to be."

Sammy was halfway home when his eyes caught an interesting sight. Slightly off the main strip, a man stood under a tree. His whole demeanor was one that stood out from the usual people that walked the Boardwalk. While most people smiled and moved quickly from casino to casino, enjoying the lights and thrill that gambling imparts, this man stood cooly watching the people walk by. Sammy was intrigued and moved closer to the man. "Afternoon," he called once he was a short distance from the man. The man looked up at Sammy's approached and nodded his own greeting. "Afternoon to you, too. I've haven't seen you around these parts. You new to town?" Sammy nodded his head. "Yeah. Moved in a while ago. Still trying to get the lay of the land, so to speak. Name's Sammy." The man smiled and held out his hand in a friendly greeting. "Why nice to me you, Sammy. My name's Lenny. I'm pretty well know around these parts as a good person to now." Sammy tilted his head in slight surprise, "Oh? How so?" Lenny gave a mysterious smile as he answered, "Well, if you need anything, Lenny's the guy to come to. I know a lot about the area and can get my hands on pretty much anything. For the right price that is." "Sounds like you're the competition to some of the more influencal people on the Boardwalk," Sammy said with a quick glance towards the Southside Palace. Lenny followed the gaze and smiled. "Naw, we have an understanding. I stay well out of their sphere of influence and they let me do my business. But it seems you're a little knowledgable about the world I operate in. If you should ever need anything, come look for me. I'll be more than willing to point you in the right direction." Sammy thought for a moment of just how transparent his appearance was for him to be read so easily. Of course, walking around in all black clothing wasn't the best idea even for him. Still, here was another great opprotunity for Sammy to take advantage of. With someone in the know around the area, getting jobs and equipment shouldn't be a problem. The thoughts flashed through his head quickly along with a silent prayer of thanks to the Lady of Fortune that watched over him. "I'm sure I'll be in touch, Lenny. This just might be the start of a wonderful relationship!"

The Ghost scratched his chin in thought as he contemplated the safe. 'Well, whatever is blocking me from simply going straight through, shouldn't stop me from cracking it the old fashion way.' Sammy lowered his pack and opened it. Various tools were safely strapped to the sides to keep sound down while moving. The layout of the tools were impressive, ranging from simple to more complex items. Sammy took another look at the safe before choosing a listening device. 'Looks like whomever owns this little room is fairly old fashion. A simple combination lock these days is really rare. It's not going to do much to stop a determined fella like myself.' Sammy put the device to work and slowly began to work the dial.

Just making the rounds here. Is still an open thread or has it finished up?
