The theater was smaller than Sammy had expected. The stage was a floor leveled square with rows of seats surrounding it on three sides. The fourth side was blocked by a curtain but there was nothing to block the view of the stage. He smiled at the simple design of the production. The stage was bare of a set which was rare for most productions these days. The abundance of expensive special effects found in movies had also found its way to the big budgets of the large productions on stage. It seemed that everyone had forgotten how to use their imagination when viewing a play on stage. 'This is going to be really refreshing. With all the high technology in use these days, it's a great change of pace to see something brought back to a simpler format.' Sammy leaned back in his chair and watched the other patrons enter the theater. Most of the people that came in where in pairs, couples completing their dates with a little bit of culture. 'And here I am all alone. Just my luck.' Sammy blinked when he saw the couple from the coffee shop walk in and sit a few rows below him. The young woman's bag was closed now but seeing it reminded the thief of his failure to take the wallet earlier. Sammy looked down at his hands again and flexed the fingers. 'I've gotten rusty. That wallet should have been mine. Maybe I should try to sharpen my skills. Maybe that guy Lenny can help me out. He seems to know where to find what I need.' A buzzer broke in on Sammy's thoughts announcing the beginning of the performance. 'I'll ask Lenny if he can set me up with something later.' The lights dimmed and music began playing. Sammy smiled as the first performer appeared on the stage.

The Ghost reached out and touched the panel on to feel it still in place. He frowned but then noticed that there was no force field on the dispaly at all. 'Well, I'll be. Seems my luck's changed after all!' Ghost reached into his pack and removed his glass cutter and quickly cut his way through the glass. He smiled as the diamonds were exposed to his easy reach. Quickly, he reached in and removed the diamonds. They ranged in sizes about as much as they did in color. He quickly dumped them into his pack, making sure they were secured enough to avoid moving too much. Once the Aurora Diamonds were secured and cleared from the displays, the Ghost stood up and dusted off his knees. 'Now all I have to do is get out of here before any supers come around. Since I did all the work, the others can forget about their share.'

By all means ask away. Hopefully, you'll find people wiolling to play. Here is where you would ask people. Good Luck.

Any round five actions from Badb or Exile?
-
There's no need to wait for Norseman to post before posting your actions. I'll still resolve the round in order so if later you see that Norseman's actions change things for your character, which I don't really see happening at least for Shui and Colton, I'll make corrections.

Ghost stands and nods his head. He watches as Whisper fades from view and sees the door open on its own. 'Hmmm, she simply hides from view. Still have to manipulate items on her own. Good to know.' He smiles as he places his water bottle back on the table and waves a goodbye to their host. "This is going to be a real fun outing." He walks out of the room and out to the street, thoughts of the job at hand rolling about in his head.
-
Sammy pondered the small box as he walked down the street. The weather was beautiful and a number of tourists were out enjoying the fine view of the river. Sammy smiled absently as he walked passed a young boy throwing a rock into the river. 'I remember doing the same thing in Chicago when I was younger. Ah, those were the days. Running the streets, picking pockets left and right. Now, I've got to deal with supers running around which makes things difficult. I mean, how do they expect a simple theif like myself to get any business done when I have to watch out for some strange tights wearing freak everytime I head out to work?' Sammy scratched his head slightly as he continued down towards teh casinos. He normally didn't play when he was feeling this way but he trusted that Lady Fortune would send him the right direction. 'Hopefully working with the others will be good for me. It's always a good thing to have friends in your corner. That Collateral fella sounds like a fairly useful guy to have around. I think I'll enjoy visiting his base. It should be interesting. I better take a look at that museum before I head out though. They're going to be wanting the information to make plans with.' Sammy looked up and saw that he was near the Golden Calf Casino. 'Why in the hell did she bring me here? I hate this joint. They have no idea on what class is. Guady gold statue in the plaza. Come on! Do they think this some movie set?' Sammy turned to head back home when his eyes caught a ticketmaster booth near the casino. 'Hmmm, I haven't checked out the theater here yet so I guess I should see what's playing. Maybe they have something interesting.' FIve minutes later, Sammy came out of the booth with a ticket to the play Sparrow. 'Now this is sure going to get me back in the mood of things. Set me back on track. And it shouldn't interfer with the heist either. Man, Lady Fortune really likes me!' Sammy turned and headed back to his apartment. As he walked, he hummed a show tune from the musical Wicked.

'A wireless system. Damn they keep getting more sophisticated every year. Soon they're going to force us honest crooks out of business.' The Ghost sat back on his hunches and thought about the problem. 'If I knew the signal, I could easily pop open the latch and get inside this little baby. Of course, I don't have it and wasn't expecting there to be a need to have wireless device that could send an interrupt signal. I doubt it would work in any case as most electronical things don't seem to work around me anyway. So, Sammy, what are you going to do about this?' The Ghost took a moment to look behind him to make sure that no guards had snuck up on him yet. Time really wasn't on his side and there was no telling what the others were doing or how long they would be able to keep the guards busy. He had to get the job done now or it would never get done. The Ghost turned back to the display case. 'Sort it out, man! There's always a way out of things especially if there's a little luck invovled. Blasting the display case would only set off the alarm and that is something I don't want to do. I simply want to disable it. Maybe if I get a hold of one of the computers here? Perhaps use of the materials to do the job? Naw, no time for that. I need something else.' The Ghost thought for a moment while looking at the display case. He looked down at his hands and then back at the display case. 'If I could only make the whole display's system not function, I could easily grab the diamonds. Just simply exert a little extra of Lady Fortune's blessing onto the display case and watch it malfunction.' Ghost looked at the display case again, sweat starting to bead upon his forehead as he thought of refining his unusual gifts to cause a different effect than damaging the display. No, he wanted to disable it and only then could he safely remove the diamonds. 'Just...a little... refining.' His body temperature began to rise as he exerted his will towards changing things in his favor. He never thought he could something like this but slowly, he felt a change in the area around him. 'Disable it....don't sestroy it.' The effort began to take its toll. His heartbeat sped up and a cramp entered his legs as he continued to focus his attention on the problem at hand. Suddenly, he felt a change within himself and he blinked in surprise. 'Did....did I do it?'

Right now, I'm in a game testing out a Wizard. I've been playing 3.5 since it came out and I have to be honest. 4e is nothing like it. The problem I see is that there are some interesting things in the new edition but there are some major points that I really dislike about it. The major beef I have with 4e is that it lacks the variety that 3.5 has. Yes, some of the rules are a headache in 3.5 but at least you have a lot of options to build different characters. No two wizards are like for example in 3.5. Things are different due to stats, feats, and spells taken. In 4e, they've taken that variety and thrown it out of the window. You want to make a wizard? Well you need at least 2 stats high with a 3rd stat fairly high to get one of the better Feats in the game for Wizards. but you may say that this isn'T taking away variety. Oh, then you get to look at the powers that Wizards get. You get to pick 2 out of five at-will powers, 3 if you're a human, which means most people are going to be picking up the same powers. Since they discourage random rolling for stats, you're going to see a lot of characters with the same stats for the same classes. Not very cool. Yes, combat is quicker and easier. All movement is counted the same and with minions, it helps build epic fights. But where level 6-12 is the sweet spot for 3.5, 4e's sweet spot seems to be about 1st-5th. At least so far as the material that is out now. Once they start sending out new material, I expect that things will improve, but with the GSL, I doubt many 3rd parties are going to jump on the bandwagon. I plan on continue playing 3.5 as my main source of fantasy fun, while dipping into 4e occasionally.

Sammy opened the door to reveal a darkened floor much like the ones below it except this one had a very open area with an enclosed room in the center. Sammy waited a few moments to be sure that there were no guards present before moving into the area. He quickly closed the door and set his pack on the floor at his feet. 'There's no way that this place is unprotected! Perhaps they have some hidden cameras or perhaps pressure plates to help protect that darn box.' Sammy reached into his pack and began looking at teh tools he held within. It took him a moment to stop and realize that it was a waste for him. 'Wait a minute. If they have cameras or laser beams, it doesn't matter. I don't get picked up by them away!' Sammy zipped up his pack and put it back on his shoulder. He smiled widely as he strode confidently towards the last door that separated him from his goal. Sammy didn'teven slow down as he moved through the material to the other side. 'I've got ot admit. Since I got these niffty abilities, my job has gotten that much easier to do. Very few things can stop me from getting in and out undetected. Lady Fortune really likes to watch out for me, now!' Inside of the room was a desk and a small safe sitting in the corner. There was no light on so he moved to the wall and looked for a light switch. Once he found one, he turned it on and took a look around. Sammy's mouth opened in surprise to find that the walls of the room were covered in strange symbols. 'What the hell is this?' Sammy pondered as he moved over to the wall to get a better look. The symbols were in a script and style unfamiliar to the common thief but something about them had the hair on his neck raised. 'Whomever owns this place is a strange on. Let me just get this box and get out of here.' Sammy moved over to the safe and reached out only to have his hand hit the hard surface of the safe. Sammy stopped and blinked his eyes in surprise. He had never been unable to pass through anything since he had received his powers a few years back. 'What? This shouldn't be happeneing. I should be able to go straight through this thing and pull out the box.' He took a moment to collect his thoughts and began to examine the safe in more detail only to find it also covered with strange symbols etched into the surface. 'What is all this writing? Is it the reason why I can'T simply reach in and grab this box?'

Do you mena having the GMs run it? Or a player running it? I find that most threads on here are pretty original when started and using a published adventure, while not bad, may not fit with the style of the board. Finding people willing to play in the adventure would be the hard part.

I think someone's had a busy weekend as I don't remember even being in this thread. :D

Ghost sleight vs Notice [Girl distracted by conversation] (1d20+6=18, 1d20-2=0) need a 20 to make the steal. Darn! Missed it by two. :(

Sammy stepped into the dark interior of the coffee shop and took a moment ot get the layout of the place. As a professional burglar, Sammy always liked to make sure he knew the ins and outs to any places he walked into. A large L-shaped counter took up most of the coffee shop. The counter had a dispaly filled with the remains of cakes and pastries from the long day. A single door behind the counter marked the entrance to the kitchen area where the cakes were most likely baked. Sammy watched as a young woman stepped out from the kitchen with a platter of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. As the aroma of the cookies reached him, Sammy's mouth began to water. 'Man, that smells about as good as the ones my Grams used to make! Looks like Lady Fortune's watching out for me again!' Sammy moved up to the cashier, ordered four of the cookies and a medium black coffee, before he realized that he hadn't checked out the people in the cafe. 'Darn cookies distracted me. Oh, well, while they're fixing my order, I can check out the folks in the place.' Sammy turned slightly away from the counter as they went about gathering his items and sized up the various people in the shop. A young couple enjoying their drins sat in the lounge chairs provided. The spoke quietly while often reaching out to touch each other's arm. Sammy smiled slightly as he saw that the young woman's handbag was hanging off of her chair. He smiled as he saw that it was slightly open with the hint of a Vitton wallet inside. Sammy took his coffee and cookies and moved over towards the couple. As he moved by the bag, he quickly bent as if stumbling. As he adjusted his position, he reached into the bag for the purse. Unfortunately, he was unable to grab the purse and his window of opprotunity had passed. He quickly moved to an empty chair by the window and sat down. 'Almost had it! I need to stop that if I'm going to enjoy tonight. It's not like I came here to work afterall. I just want some time to relax.' Sammy flexed his hand slightly and frowned at his fingers. 'I've been fairly lax at training recently. Perhaps its time I head back to school. I'll look at the option later. Tonight, I enjoy the show.'

Sorry for the delay here. I'm going to try and finish this thread up before teh end of the month. Herid, do you mind if I simply take over with or would you prefer to play out the security section. I'm thinking this might be the perfect time to try out his nullify power that I plan on picking up for him later. However, I really want to do this the old fashion way which is why I haven't simply APed his nullify. Taht will come later I think. Hopefully, I'll get to this somethime later this week if not sooner.

Sammy sits quietly digesting the plan and split of the profits. "Sounds good to me. It shouldn't be that difficult then if we stick with the basics. Whisper gets the combo, Chill helps with crowd control, while the Ghost cracks the safe. Sounds like a well greased wheel!" He raises his water bottle in a salute to the two women present. "This is going to be really fun!"

Norseman, your DEF was 10 due to the All out attack of -5. That's why the Thugs were able to hit you. Luckily they can'T get through your imprevious. Shui, you enter the mist on the building, but your points in your array are over by 2. You need to adjust something. Also, you took a bruise on that last hit. Colton needs to make a Tough 21 save against teh bullets that hit him. Icarus missed the thugs and avoided being hit by the truck. The two thugs by the black van have gotten up and are getting ready to react next round. ROUND 9 Norseman is up.
-
Norseman again swings his sword at teh already wounded thug and this time, is able to drop him out cold. Shui is again bruised by the bullets that pound into his body but he doesn't let that stop him from walking upon the air and moving quickly into his own mist. Colton fires at the two thugs before him, dropping them easily before running and jumping to the next building. He stumbles slightly on the landing, but is otherwise successful. Icarus takes the blow and is upset to notice the truck being lifted by two other thugs. He moves slightly and swings at the thugs but fails to hit either of the two. Seeing the Norseman drop his companion, The lone Thug doubles up his fists and swings a haymaker at the swordweilding hero. Even with his recent attack focus blow, the Norseman is able to avoid the blow. With Shui out of sight, the two thugs on the rooftop, move over and fire down upon the Norseman. The bullets easily hit but are unable to penertrate. The two thugs within the mist fire randomly, unable to see any targets through the obscuring mist. Bullets again fly out towards Colton hitting the hero squarely in the chest. Down below at street level, the two skinheads decide to use the truck against Icarus. They pull back to swing the truck like a baseball bat but their timing is off and the truck swings in the space slightly above Icarus' head.
-
Okay. Using GM fiat to allow the second attack to still succed on Icarus before his gravity power kicks in. So gain a HP and make the Toughness DC 20 save. Once you post up your next action, I'll move along.
-
CORRECTION TO PREVIOUS ROUND The Norseman swung his sword but failed to hit his target. Shui quickly and easily dropped his mist upon the southern building from the truck, blocking the skinheads' view of the streets below. Colton Fired a quick shot that dropped the nearby thug before making a very impressive jump to the other building. Icarus strikes an impressive pose that demoralizes one of the red skinned thug. He waits to see what happens next, ready to weight them down if they try to attack him. The thugs react quickly to the presence of the super powered adversaries. The power thug swings at the Norseman but also fails to hit. Another of the powered thugs charges the Norseman, but he also barely fails to hit. The demoralized thug struck out at Icarus. The blow fails to hit and the second powered thug also strikes out at nearly the same time. The second attack manages to land a blow upon the metal encased man even as Icarus retaliates by increasing the gravity around the two. The extra weight is more than they can take and they drop to the ground. The remaining two power thugs quickly run to the truck and together manage to lift the truck up slightly. The four skinheads all fire at Colton. The hero is hit multiple times. Two skinheads fire at Shui and the hero is riddled with bullets.

Ironhide finds himself stunned by the blow but the unresponsiveness of the robot that delievered the blow gives him a breather. Void moves next to the stunned Ironhide and feints between the two remaining robots. Unable to follow compute the feint, the remaining active robot fires into its companion, destroying it completely. Only one Robot remains in sight and active.
-
MASSIVE CORRECTIONS TO PREVIOUS ROUND Exile again strikes out with his weapon which hits easily. The corrosive touch of the weapon weakens the tough hid of the robot allowing the blow to destroy it outright. Ironhide strikes out at the staggered robot and manages to hit it squarely, however, the blow fails to damage the robot any further. Badb shakes the cobwebs from her head and fires at the center robot. Unfortunately, her aim is very off and fails to hit its target. Void, remains in place, studying the battle in her usual silent way. The robots react to the attacks quickly. The second robot fires at the distant Badb but fails to hit the agile flier. The last robot, diverts power to its muscles before striking out at Ironhide. The blow is extremely powerful. Unfortunately, the surge of power and the damage it alread occured, causes it to shut down.
-
MASSIVE CORRECTIONS Exile blast hits and drains the robot's toughness. It is more than enough to destroy the robot outright. Ironhide hits his target but fails to damage it in any way. Badb manages to fire her blast but misses her target. Void is skipped due to no post. ROUND FIVE Robots attack back. 1) NEGATED 2)Badb DEF 23 TOugh DC20;3)Ironhide DEF 16 Tough DC22(power attack 2) (1d20+10=21, 1d20+10=15, 1d20+8=28) Ironhide has a DC 27 due to the critical. Void's acrobatics bluff works against the remaining robot, causing it to finish off the damaged machine.
