Not a problem with both. Great post by the way! It got him talking. I tend to weigh what is said along with the roll so it works out more. Of course, no one told Monty that the leader did run out with something yet...... :D
-
Monty looks into Grim's eyes for a moment, silent as he considers her words. After what seems to be long time, Monty lowers his head. "You've got a way a way with words, miss." Monty looks up and smiles at the two heroes. "Recently, I've been approached by a number of people asking me to build some vehicles for them. Not like a normal car or anything like that. I mean something special. A few of the plans brought to me, I had to turn down. One of the groups that i turned down were those Skinheads. I don'T like their kind at all. Piking on people just because they feel their superior and all. I mean, this is the 21st century, right? All that racial supremacy crap shoul dhave been dumped years ago." "Anyway, I was forced to work on a different set of plans for another gorup. I really don't want to go into details, but that is what the skinheads wanted. Somehow they learned that I had plans and was working on a new vehicle for their rivals, the Southside C's. I only had the plans for a short time and was working on a small prototype. They want the plans and whatever I had made. I refused, of course. I'm no sell out and do what I say. Luckily, you two showed up and stopped them before they got it."
-
I'm about to set up a little villain adventure. I'll be giving the details IC. But if you want to hear the details, just post yourself in the main thread arriving at Mr. Yamaguchi's table shortly after the other two. You would have been given a message to meet at the Arena for a possible job.
-
Monty nods his head. "Yeah, I hear you, but it's not your lively hood that's going to get trashed the minute word gets out that you're talking. I've done well for myself here. I help out from time to time and they leave me alone. That's all I ask for. To be left alone."
-
The bartender quickly comes to teh table with the new drinks and departs just as quickly. As he moved away, you saw Legend coming to your table. Once he reached the table, he bowed to each of you in turn before speaking. "Forgive the intrusion but another one of our patrons has asked me to approach you to see if you were interested in a job." Legend gestures over at a booth where a Japanese man dressed in a very expensive suit sat. "If you wish to hear more, please join Mr. Yamaguchi." Legend bowed again and moved off before any questions were asked of him.

I think my schedule has clamed down a little so if you are intersted in a small encounter/story arc, it would help me set up some stuff for a larger story arc I'm planning on doing later. Just let me know when I appraoch you in the main thread.

Monty looks around the mess, his shoulders still slumped. "I'm not really sure," he says slowly. His tone gives the impression that he may just have an idea but is unwilling to discuss it just yet. "They came here talking about weapons and taking out the competition. But I don't deal with no weapons! This is a car shop, not a factory for weapon making. Look what they did to my place! As if they'd find anything worth taking in here."
-
After teh flames of the burning van gets under control, Monty reappears to look at what happened to his shop. He sees the two heroes still about, though one seems to have been seriously beaten on. Monty looks at the thugs lying about unconcious on the ground. "Come in. I can get you some ice, at least. Also, best to have you two off the street when the cops show up anyway," he says leading you into his main lobby area. Papers are scattered everywhere. A file cabinet is tilted over and has obviously been searched. Monty moves slowly, looking at the mess with his shoulders slumped. "It's going to take me some time to get this mess all cleaned up." He moves over to the sofa and clears off a space for the heroes to sit. He picks up a chair and sets it aside for use. Monty skirts a few piles of paper to the small fridge and takes out some ice. He quickly wraps it up in a towel and hands it to the heroes. "Thanks for coming by, when you did. I'd most likely be dead now if you two hadn't come along."
-
Yeah, talk with Monty is about the end of things. It will lead to something else, but with work still on, I'm not ready yet to start it up. Once I do, you'll both get a PM about it and can decide if you wish to sign up or not. Thanks.

Okay. Just wanted to make sure. :)

Is this break out happening before or after the "To Be or Not To Be - Stolen!" thread? Ghost gave his word to help anyone in that group bust out of prision, so he would help in some way or other. Just let me know when it is happening in regards to timeframe.
-
Well done! The encounter is basically finished. All that is left is follow up if you wish to do so. The leader skinhead, along with his three powered goons got away.
-
Grim struggles to her feet and calls for Nightrival to continue without her. Just as the street hero is about ot head after teh leader, the flames upon the burning van reach the gas tank. The van explodes in a large shower of sparks and flames, drawing the two heroes attention. They quickly see that there were no civilians in the area but when they turn back towards the leader, they see he has disappeared along with the powered thugs. Only the normal thugs still remain on the ground unconcious.
-
Ghost frowned at Dyrad's outburst on the raido. "Sure Red Queen. If you can do anything, I'll stick with you." He moves next to Red Queen, ready to follow her lead.
-
The Ghost moved quickly to the emergency exit that he found earlier, leading the others with him. Once he reaches the door, he quickly passes through it. Once he is on the other side, he pushes the door open to allow the others in. "Quick! Get inside beofre the power is back on. We've only got a few seconds to do this!" Once everyone is in, Ghost closes the door and leads the group to an area he's sure is clear of cameras. "From here, getting to the diamonds shouldn't be too difficult. REd Queen, with your improved vision. check out our path and make sure it is clear of guards. Imposter, can you copy the guard you saw at the entrance? If we come across any other guards, it'll be up to you to bluff them long enough for us to move passed him." Finished with the information and the plan, he waits to see if the two are ready before moving.
-
Ghost steps out of the building and looks around for Red Queen and Imposter. It doesn'T take him long to find the two and he moves back to their side. "Found a door in, but it's got cameras as well as an alram on it. Inform Collateral that he's needed to take out the security system. Once that is done we can head in."
-
Two move actions is enough, though it's up to Grim whether he actually gets her with him. If she decides to stay, you're going to be in a tough spot as your actions will be negated by her resistance. So once we see where she wants to be, we'll advance.
-
Yes, that is correct. So it is presently Rnd 8. Nightrival is up. Grim will make her toughness save, better yet. Let's say you spend the hp and regain conciousness. Grim can act normally [Fatigued condition still applies], but you're presently prone with your sutained powers off. So, once Nightrival posts, we can do Grim.
-
That is correct, but she's going to lose her round seven actions. She'll be able to act in this present round, 8, and we'll say that she was knocked to teh ground for a short while, losing her blending. She'll need to stand and reactivate it though. Simply make the Toughness roll again and include it in your post with your actions.
-
Thug 3 charges and misses Nightrival. Thug 1 moves away from teh fight and thug 2 shakes off the stun condition. From the doorway, the leader thug comes out. ROUND Eight
-
"Stop jumpong all over the place!" yells the only untouched thug as he again charges at Nightrival only to miss again. The badly wounded thug moves away from the fight, trying ot escape any more damage from the street hero. The other powered thug shakes his head in an attempt to clear it from the blow just dealt him. From the doorway, the leader comes out carrying a slightly bulking bag. He sees the fight is still raging and the wounded state the men. "We got what we came for! Pull out!"
-
The Ghost takes a look at the doors, not liking his options. 'Need to get that distraction after all.' He moves to the wall again and takes another deep breath before moving back outside to rejoin the others.
-
Forgot that you did that. I had you listed as Fatigue though it would not change the results of the attack. So, Go ahead and use the hp for the toughness save and keep the fatigue condition. Right now, I'm just waiting to see what Nightrival is going to do before advancing.
-
Ghost stops just on the other side and takes a few deep breaths. 'That was harder than it should have been. What did they put on this place?' Once his breathing is under control, Ghost looks about getting his bearings. 'Okay. Reptiles. Loading docks should be that way.' Ghost takes a moment to ensur that his force field and concealment is still in place before moving quietly in the direction of the loading docks. He keeps his eyes open as he tries to find a way the others can enter from.
-
Yup. Unless you'd like to spend a hero point to reroll your toughness save. I know you're supposed to do it before the results are known, but I'll allow it now. Or you can use it to recover from the condition sooner.
