I was just going through the freedom News board looking for some kind of idea and cam across this one. I was curious to see if anything happened with it. It hasn't been that long since it was put up on the board, so I figure someone's doing something, somewhere.

Duncan looked over his shoulder. He noted the small group of girls smiling and waving at him. Duncan turned back towards Megan and shrugged his shoulders. "Not tonight at least. I'm more interested in meeting someone with substance. I get enough of mindless groupies when I'm working."

I'd like to get at least some of the ground work started for this little group so if anyone is interested for some role-playing, join me in the Arena thread here.

Sammy moved slowly inot the main room of the Arena and stopped just within the doorway. Sammy smiled nervously at the faces that turned to look at the newcomer. The room was mostly set up like any other bar found within Freedom City. A long bar took up one side of the room while a large viewing window was located just to the right of the bar. Sammy slowly moved closer to the window and saw that it afforded a beautiful view of the ocean. Sammy looked down and saw the large outdoor arena. 'So that's why they call it the Arena. Aptly chosen.' Sammy moved over to the bar and called over the bartender. "So, what is this place? I got word that this was the place to talk to people about work," Sammy said as he ordered his drink. The bartender moved quickly and efficiently to fill the order. "That is true, sir," came the bartender's reply as he placed the drink before Sammy. The man gestured around the room as he explained the set up. "Just outside that window is the Arena. Anyone can use it to settle differences or to work out. Often times, older more established personnas decide to help the newer people like yourself." The bartender smiled for a moment before continuing. "This area is the bar. As you can see, there are a number of tables to use for converstaion. Of course," he said as he gestured to a door opposite the glass window, "there are private rooms for more delicate discussions." Sammy glanced at each location as he was told about them and nodded. "Okay. That's the basic layout. How do things work here?" "Well, sir, that's one of the more interesting things about the Arena. Legend makes sure that there is an outlet for certain items that need to move quickly. Members of every organization established in Freedom City or the world keep contact with the Arena. Somehow, Legend has managed to keep the location of the Arena safe from most unwanted intrusions, but they do happen from time to time. I must admit, it is a sight to see the patrons banding together." Sammy nodded again at the words. "I can guess." Sammy took a moment to look at the few tables with people. He didn't recognize any of the people, but he didn't expect to know them. Sammy was still new to the city himself and had yet to do much about establishing a presence. "So, how do I contact people here? If I want to get a workout in, who do I see." "Simply walk up to someone and ask, sir. Most of the people here are willing to stretch out their muscles once or twice." "Thanks for the information," Sammy said as he moved to a stool to finish his drink.

Duncan took another sip of his drink as his eyes tracked the woman in red finally move off the dance floor. 'Finally, she's taking a break. Time to introduce myself.' Duncan moved over towards Megan, his steps light. He moved around a small couple heading towards the dance floor, drinks in their hands. Duncan smiled as he moved next to Megan. He turned to watch the dance floor like she did for a short while before turning to face her. He leaned in so his words could be heard over the music. "You've got some nice moves out there," Duncan said with a smile on his face.

Well, the past few weeks I've been doing a lot of thinking about this concept again. Here a few more questions I have. Are there power limits on powers like Mind reading and nullify? Both of which use opposed rolls to determine success so they shouldn't be limited by power level caps, right? Also,is nullify [biological powers] good enough for a 2pp/rank ability? Would nullify [known powers] work?

Sammy moved quickly through the floor, moving as quickly as possible until he had passed the guards' position. He had to move quickly as his air supply was limited and he needed to surface before he suffocated. Sammy looked around above him for an empty room, to hide out in while he figured out what to do. Luckily for the wounded man, along with the ability to move through walls came the ability to see through them as well. It wasn't long before he found a room that looked perfect. Sammy moved up through the floor and into the room. Sammy looked around the empty room. It was a meeting room somewhere on the second floor. Eight tables sat around a large table. Only one door, slightly opaque, marked the entrance of the room. A small table was opposite the door in a corner. A water pitcher and glasses sat upon the table. Illumination from the window was the only light source in the room. Sammy moved under the table to give himself more concealment from any of the guards that might walk by. He took out his map and laid it out to study it. 'Oh, that stung. These fellas don't play around do they?' Sammy thought as he looked at the map. 'I could have been killed back there and that wouldn't have been very good. I'll need to be more careful from now on. Those guards are bound to have called in my presence as well, making things much more difficult to proceed. I need to finish this job quickly!' Still surprised at having encountered their very first supervillian, it took the guards a moment before they picked up their walkie talkies. "Hey, Jack! We've got a supervillian in the building! Call the Freedom League to come deal with this guy. I don't get paid enough to deal with supervillians. Tom and me could have been killed." "Okay, Bill. I'll make the call," came the reply over the walkie talkie. Jack picked up the red direct phone to the company's owner. "Sir, we have a supervillian on the premises. Request a metahuman to handle the situation."
