All of a sudden, everything clicked in Casey's head at the same time; the 'medivac team' was fake, and trying to get away with McGinnis right under their noses! The blonde powerhouse upbruptly smiled, reached out and grabbed the frail unconscious man's gurney. "That's okay, I can take it from here!" And with that, she looked back over her shoulder and wooshed away from the phoney EMTs, the gurney's wheels rattling loudly across the pavement. Darn it, where can I find a place to stash him?

The changeling laughed and shook her head as she sat up in her chair. "Oh my God, dude; you're completely useless!" She chewed her lip for a few seconds as she drummed her fingers on the desk, deep in thought. "D'you wanna maybe...like, just go for a walk somewheres? Go out to Wharton, or maybe somewhere farther out? Maybe I just to need to get out of the city for an hour or two to clear my head. Does that sound like a plan?"

Lynn laughed as she scratched the back of her head; she recognized that tone of voice. "No, no, it's nothing like that, it's just-" She sighed deeply. "I've got the holiday blues real bad; the store is a madhouse, and it's Hanukkah and I miss my kids. I just...I really need to do something stupid and normal, y'know? Like get drunk and play Laser Tag or something. You ever feel that way?" You miss being a kid, she thought to herself; the last time you were in Freedom, you were young and recently married, and before that you were an Interceptor sharing a clubhouse. Somehow she was back home, and she'd never felt more alone.

Lynn laughed and raised her cider. "L'chaim!" Then she took a swig and wiped her mouth with her hand. "Mmmmm! Yeah, good stuffing is truly an art form; it's almost as hard as cooking the bird! And I cook kosher, so there are all kinds of gravy issues without the blood, and I have to use olive oil instead of butter, but that gives it a really intersting, almost Greek taste. I think you guys will really like it." Grechen took a sip of her beer, then pointed both fingers at Asli and started to back into the kitchen. "I'll just grab that water for you." She turned to go, then came to stop, slowly turned back and returned to the group, nervously fiddling with her bottle as she paced aimlessly about. "While we're on the top of things were thankful for, I...turned twenty-four this month. Which really isn't such a great achievement in the grand scheme of things, except last November I was shot-" She stopped abruptly and looked down at her boots. "Not thirty feet from this spot. I should have died." She clicked her heels three times like Dorothy Gale, then smiled shyly and looked up at a speechless Lynn through damp eyes. "But my boss saved my life, because that's what she does. So I'm thankful...for all the Novembers to come." She stood there blinking for a few seconds, then abruptly spun on her heel and headed robotically back down the long hallway to the kitchen; after a few seconds, a clearly-emotional Lynn went after her, mumbling an 'excuse me' under her breath. The two could be seen in silhouette, nodding and talking softly before sharing a fierce hug and getting back to putting the finishing touches on the meal. "Uh, thanks for the offer, Sam, but I think...I think we've got it; you guys can all take a seat. Just bring your drinks to the table, we'll be right there!"

Silberman's Books. Sunday, December 13, 2015. Noonish. Collapsed in her chair in her office and feeling trapped behind her grandfather's desk, Lynn Epstein wondered exactly why she was so eager to own a small business during the holiday rush. Precarious stacks of cardboard boxes full of books, dvds and games that couldn't fit in the backroom filled every available inch of floor space, further increasing her sense of confinement. Between running the store, finals (thankfully over), and hitting the streets with Gretchen, the changeling felt liked he hadn't slept in months. "I need a break," she sighed. Then a thought hit her; rummaging through the garbage on top of her desk, she finally found her Android phone and placed a call to an old friend. "Hey Taylor, it's Lynn; is this a good time? "

Gretchen dutifully accepted the coats and took them to the guest room as Lynn prepared the drinks in the kitchen. "Oh, it sucks! The Fae are like spoiled, psychopathic children with superpowers; like that kid in the Twilight Zone movie." She strolled back into the living room with two Angry Orchards, a Blue Moon with a slice of orange, a bottle of Guinness and a proper pint glass expertly grasped in her slender fingers as she made her way to one of the folding chairs by the fire. "Here we are! Asli, can I get you anything? I wasn't sure if you drank or not, so I got lots of non-alcoholic options." She opened one of the ciders, which seemed to be real. Meanwhile Gretchen reappeared with a tray of cheese, crackers and cold cuts, which she placed on the ammo box, and then stood beside her boss, who passed her the Blue Moon. "Thanks." She indicated the tray with a wave of her bottle. "Last chance to ruin your appetite before dinner, " she said with a smirk as she snagged a few tasty morsels for herself.

So Grim is rocking her Concealment and Super-Senses right now; her primary goals are recon and opportunistic sabotage. Also if she has a chance to grab a comm off any minion she can drop, she will take it to monitor them. Let me know what rolls to make.

Grim nodded in approval. "Sounds like a plan; I'm on it." It was indeed a solid plan, which have her a decent amount of room to do what she did best, which was sneak around, spy on people and cause mischief. Wrapping herself In the night, the changeling became nearly undectable, though she had a hunch Kingsnake might still twig to her presence. Following him by scent wasn't very hard, but the last thing she wanted to do was cramp the taciturn hero's style; unless she heard him stuck in a battle for his very life, she planned to keep her distance. So instead, she focused on noting guard positions, dropping any solitary guards, and usung her claws on any communication or surveillance gear she came upon, and slashing any tires that fell into her path. She also made a note of the gear the guards wore, in case she had an opportunity to shift into one and create more mayhem. She smiled a wistful smile none could see. Just like back on Mars, hon; 'Greetings from Olympus Mons!'

Casey nodded and smiled. "Of course, I'm always happy to help!" Then she looked down at her outfit and sighed. "Uh, is there time for me to swing by my dorm and suit up? I'm not really dressed for a gorilla fight." Then another thought hit her; pulling out her phone, she noted the time and clucked her tongue. "Also, if I miss Algebra, I'm going to need a note.

Rereading [url=http://www.freedomplaybypost.com/topic/8435-patriotic-gore-ic/?do=findComment&comment=233266]this post, I think 'the guard' (aka Magpie) was already over by us by the time we got Cannonade's text; I think that's where the confusion came in.

Grim laughed, and it wasn't an entirely pleasant one. "Oh believe me, I'm hoping the s### hits the fan right away, to give me an excuse to do something stupid; I just think the goons look a lot funnier when you beat them up from surprise." To be honest, she realized she'd been so focused on finding the guilty parties as a way to avoid thinking about her two friends in the hospital, but now that she had a moment to think about it, she felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. If Gretchen doesn't make it, I will never forgive myself. "Actually, give me a second." She closed her eyes and concentrated, shifting her senses to the two stuffed animals she sent along with her two employees; after a few seconds, she shook her head and sighed. "Well, they're both in good hands; I just hope-" He voice cracked for a second, and then she squeezed her eyes shut and clenched her hands into fists. "Let's just get these guys." There was a soft 'whump' as the faerie shrank down to pixie size, and then she was in the air and over the wall, dropping softly to the ground back at normal size to wait for her temporary partner to join her.

Gretchen blinked a few times, surprised that her question had yielded such a wide variety of responses, but she merely shrugged and put the flask away. "Well, figured I'd offer; personally, to me Halloween is all about impaired judgement and poor choices, but I'm not-" She waved a finger around her eyes. "On the clock right now, so I get that." Grim finally made her way over to the bar after chatting with a few more guests, as well as signing things and posing for selfies with store patrons, and dropped onto a stool that appeared seconds before. "Oof! I think I need to be a bit less outgoing with the public; how do politicians and car salesmen do it?" She sighed, then looked around the group. "It's getting a bit crowded in here; anyone up for a bit of fresh air? Maybe hit the maze and scare some folks, or just chill out on the roof?"

Casey was dramatically circling her finger over the call button when the suspicious man suddenly made a run for it, catching her off-guard and allowing his armored goons to come pouring out of the bunker; served her right for messing around! The blonde heroine craned her neck to look past the row of battlesuits. "Hey, I'm not done with you yet, mister!" But it seemed she had to deal with these people first; rolling her eyes, Casey held up her hands. "Look, I don't want to hurt you; I just want to catch your weasel of a boss before he-" Unfortunately, she made the mistake of taking a step forward, which was no doubt seen as a threatening move, and the six of them opened up on her with their laser rifles. "Ow! Ow, OWW!" A few of the hits were painful, but no more than a quick painful burn; actually the tightly focused beams hurt her eyes more than anything else. Now thoroughly annoyed, the teen powerhouse growled and charged into the middle of the pack and began bringing the pain, in the form of a furious assault of taekwondo kicks and punches delivered to the heads and torsos of her foes. She held back a bit, of course, because Casey was no killer, but the fact that all of her opponents were pretty well-armored gave her a little more leeway, and she was happy for it. After she slammed the last two grunts together over her head and let them drop, she turned her attention back to her original target. "YOU!" Her voiced boomed across the rain-swept junkyard as she took to the air. "WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?!"

http://orokos.com/roll/349808 1d20+10=25, plus Impervious 6; do your worst, ya schmucks!
-
Okay, Casey wants to drop these goons as quickly as possible, as the guy running away seems like the prime target. She will definitely spend the HP for the feat to better take on multiple targets, but I'm not sure if taking 10 with +9 Unarmed Attack is enough to dependably mop the floor with these guys. Fuggit, only one way to find out! We'll see how well she fares with this tactic.
-
Damn, I really wish Casey had Takedown Attack! Wait, can she blow an HP to pick up the feat, or does thst just work for powers?
-
Okay, now Grim was starting to get mad; at first, it was kind of fun tearing through Duke-shaped piñatas, but the gag was beginning to get old. "Enough of this nonsense," she growled, her voice much deeper than usual, and she dropped down on all fours, closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her head cocked this way and that as she continued to rapidly sniff the air, seemingly completely feral. Then she opened her eyes, fixed her baleful gaze on one of the hapless Dukes and licked her lips. "You're mine." And just like that, she was moving; fast as a panther, she leaped at her chosen prey...only to pivot in mid-air, her body impossibly graceful, and attack the Belgian directly to the right! "Gotcha!"
-
Okay, so Grim is going into 'animal cunning' mode; she's going to use Acrobatic Bluff to make it look like she's going for one of the phoney Dukes, then pivot at the last second and strike the real one! Acrobatic Bluff check: 1d20+20=36 Attack Roll: 1d20+12=30 "It was super effective! "

http://orokos.com/roll/349608 1d20+12=15 Really, Orokos? Really? Actually I was thinking of Grim hanging back a bit to put some distance between the two groups, so that kinda works. Edit: I'm fine with you getting us to the juicy bits.
-
Once they got to their destination, Grim returned to full size and dropped silently into a crouch. She then traced a circle in the air about five feet across, poked her head in and grinned at Brandish. "Last stop! Everyone off the bus!" Once the young swordsman disembarked, she dismissed the portal and directed her attention at the manor, arms folded across her chest. "Huh! Not sure if that's enough mooks to say the place is officially 'crawling with guards', but if it's not, it's damn close. Looks like big electrical bills are also not a major concern." The changeling turned to the others, thoughtfully stroking her chin. "So unless I'm mistaken, we have two subtle people and two... less subtle people; how do we want to work this? Solid Snake typically works best alone, which I can respect, but how about the rest of us?"
