Lynn waved her hands, shook her head and chuckled. "No, it's me who should apologize. As a fae entity, my whole world is glamour; I eat it, drink it, hell my whole body is made of it!" She held out one arm,and the hand melted away into vapor, a thin stream of it trailing from the empty sleeve of her jacket; it then just as quickly reformed. "See? I'm not even real, and least in a physical sense; I am what I say I am." She shrugged. "And sometimes I forget that what's normal for me isn't normal for everyone else. Whatever, let's finish getting dinner ready." The hostess called over her shoulder as she headed down the long hallway back to the kitchen. "Does anyone need a drink? I got wine, I got beer, I got booze; I've also got water and a few different fruit juices." At first Commander Catso flinched at Asli's touch, but he soon relaxed a bit and allowed her to scratch; after the shock he had, it looked like he needed it. "I'll take a Blue Moon, please." Gretchen sat on the arm of the sofa, and joined in with some fuzzy belly scratching. "You just have to remember that she's not really human anymore, though she plays one on TV." She sighed as she focused more intently on the Commander. "It's not just for our benefit, though. Being connected to our world is what keeps her from going insane." "Hey, I heard that and I resent that!" Lynn called from the kitchen; clearly those pointed ears just weren't for show! "Mario Kart is what keeps me sane! That and Game of Thrones!" Gretchen rolled her eyes. "I stand corrected. Or sit, actually." Then she crisply rose to her feet, once again back in assistant mode. "Here, let me take your coats and wraps." Once she had them, she turned to blink at the blank space by the door, where a large armoire stood a few minutes before. "Uh, these are just going to go on bed in the guest room...yeah."

Lynn's cheerful face quickly shifted to one of concern as something was clearly affecting Asli. "Oh my God, are you okay? Do you need to lie down?" But then Sam spoke up, and things became more clear. "It's the glamour," Gretchen offered tersely. "She's got some kind of magical allergy, and It's all over the f###ing place." The changeling cover her mouth in horror; to be surrounded by glamour all the time was nothing to her, so it never occurred to her someone might have a bad reaction. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry! We can, we can fix this! Quick, get her back out into the hall; other than a couple small pieces, everything's real out there. In fact, everyone else wait out there, too. Give me and Gretch ten minutes, and we'll have this all sorted out." Once they had everyone out in the hallway, the crime-fighting duo switched to mental communication to speed things up. Seven minutes later, Lynn opened the door back up and grinned sheepishly at her three guests. "Hi! Okay, the world's fastest movers are done; should be safe now!" She allowed the door to swing open onto a very different space; there was a well-worn sleeper sofa, two folding chairs and an ammo box in the living room, and wildly mismatched furniture in the dining room, the folding card table being a good three inches higher than Gretchen's hijacked kitchen table. Lynn was also wearing an old No Doubt T-shirt that barely fit her (and looked like it had been washed a thousand times), a leather motorcycle jacket and sleepy pants; it was pretty clear these were clothes she'd left back at home before her transformation. Gretchen looked the same, though she had unbuttoned her blouse to reveal a Clash T-shirt in solidarity with her dressed-down boss. "Sorry about the cat hair on the- oh wow, we brought a cat back with us. Sorry, Commander Catso!" Indeed a thoroughly disorientated feline was in the middle of the sofa, tail poofed, ears back and clinging to the cushions for dear life.

"C'mon in! Food is almost ready." Lynn gestured for them to enter. "May my home be your home." The changeling did indeed look stunning; tonight she was wearing a sleeveless cranberry blouse, black Capri pants and white tabi socks. Her curly brown hair was up, revealing her pointed ears to the world. Inside the apartment, the living room had two tan leather sofas flanking a coffee table, and a seven-branched menorah sat on the mantlepiece over a cheerful fire. The walls bore several bookshelves, as well as vintage movie and magic show posters. Here and there, colorful bits of bric-a-brac could be spotted, some of which were Southwestern crafts, and others that looked like they were designed by Jules Verne. Just beyond the living room, one could see the dining area, with a cherry wood table and five matching chairs; candles glowed softly over what looked to be quite a savory spread, but there was still room for more dishes. "Hey." Gretchen raised a hand in greeting and offered a half-smile. She was keeping it simple tonight: black, low-heeled ankle boots, black jeans and a black blouse with the sleeves rolled up, revealing tattooes of musical staves on her forearms. As usual, she wore dark eye shadow and several earrings, and a silver ring with a large ruby was on her left index finger, which along with the three other fingers was also tattooed. Her brown hair was worn loose, cascading down to her shoulders. The eager hostess clasped her hands and beamed at her guests. "I'm so glad you all could make it! I'm Lynn, and this is Gretchen. Can I take your coats?"

Okay, Grim is going to try and sniff out the real Duke by finding the one that doesn't have any of Merge's smell on it. My first attempt yielded an 18, which I doubt is high enough to find him, so I'm going to blow an HP (which I think I still have?) on a reroll and hope for the best. Wow; okay, since I rolled a whole point better and got a frickin' 19, I believe I add 10 which brings it up to 29? Is that enough to spot him?

The blonde heroine frowned and scratched her head. "How fast can I dig?" She looked down at her hands; stronger, slender fingers with some light callouses from years of sports and volunteer work, nails kept rather short to allow for better grip. She shrugged as she reached down and gently picked up the wheelchair-bound man. "Uh, I'm not really sure; do you mean with a shovel or my bare hands? I guess I'd be up for either; why do you ask?" The radio signals were puzzling; were both Miss A and the handicapped man actually broadcasting? As she walked, she peered down at the crumpled figure In her arms and frowned; If that was the case, it meant the man had powers of some kind, too, which meant- Miracle Girl suddenly looked up at the medivac team. "I think this man might have something to do with the 'attack'; we need to put him in a secure location until we know exactly how his powers work."

Just to clarify, Vigilant isn't quite the household name like say Captain America, but he'd be around War Machine's fame in the MCU, at least pre-Age of Ultron.

The blonde powerhouse frowned and crossed her arms, doing her best to look menacing. "Oh really, an AEGIS facility?" Then she was suddenly all sunny and cheerful. "Great, my dad works for them!" She reached into a belt pouch and pulled out her cellphone, and began going intently through her contact list. "You might have heard of him; codename 'Vigilant'? I'm sure he can clear this whole thing up in a jiffy..." Yes, she was laying it on awful thick, but she really couldn't help herself.

Casey Blankenship didn't have much of a poker face; she didn't really like lying, though she understood heroes sometimes had to every now and then to maintain their privacy. When Daisy mentioned the date of her departure from her Earth, Casey's eyes went wide with shock. "Oof! That is...quite the time jump! As of right now, you're in October 2015 our time." She looked around the skyline and sighed. "I guess that explains a lot, except for how exactly you got here." Casey frowned thoughtfully. "Tell us more about this 'Alexander the Ape'; like, what kind of powers does he have? And is he an actual ape, because if so, that is freaky."
-
This man appeared to be hiding something, but of course that didn't mean he was a bad person; good people kept secrets all the time. Pushing her wet hair out of her face, the blonde teen smiled and shook her head. "I'm not here to invade your privacy, sir, but I am already here and willing to help. You appear to be looking for something, which is something I'm really good at; what can I help you find?" Though her tone was somewhat insistent, she tried to keep any judgement out of her voice.

Upstairs, Lynn had been trying last minute changes to her living room furniture; almost every table, chair and cushion in her apartment was conjured out of glamour, which meant she saved a ton of money on cleaning and maintainance, and could redecorate with a wave of her hand, which was totally awesome. Unless she had new guests coming over and couldn't make up her mind. Rubbing her chin thoughtfully, she called over her shoulder toward the kitchen, where her assistant Gretchen was pulling a tray of drop biscuits out of the oven. "Hey Gretch, what do you think of Contemporary Southwestern?" The snarky barista sighed and shook her head as she used a spatula to slide the biscuits into a small towel-lined basket. "I think you're overthinking things, as usual; just pick a style and move on!" The changeling groaned and vigorously rubbed her face. "You're right, you're right..." Peering through her fingers, she decided it looked fine and left it at that. Then her pointed ears twitched as someone unlocked the front door, and she heard Sam and a vaguely familiar voice calling out. "Oh s###, they're here!" Gretchen sauntered into the room, a wry smirk on her face as she wiped her hands on a towel. "Heavens, what will we do." Lynn quickly checked herself in a mirror near the door. "How do I look?" Her sidekick could only shake her head and sigh. "Stunning, as usual. Open the door already." The door opened, and Lynn's grinning elfin face, framed by curly, shoulder-length brown hair, appeared over the railing. "Hi guys, c'mon up! You need help with anything?" The smells that wafted down into the entry hall were positively mouth-watering!

Actually the invite thing might be a perfect way to introduce my telepath to the Praetorians as well; for some reason that feels better to be than her being a well-established member from before.

Miracle Girl's went bright pink as she heard the blood rush in her ears, and a simply huge smile spread uncontrolably across her face. "I, uh...try to do good." Boy, her speech coach would be so proud right now! But when the two Trias shared and compared names, she felt like she was intruding on a private moment: two long-lost sisters reunited after a lifetime apart. Ryan Seacrest should be here, or Oprah. "Casey," she suddenly blurted out. "Casey...is me." She waved her hands helplessly. "Everyone was sharing..." Then the blonde heroine took in the skyline with a sweep of her arm. "This isn't normal, right? Two of you, in the same place at the same time? It means something; I mean, it has to, doesn't it?"

Grim pursed her lips and nodded. I don't think Mr. Monochrome likes me very much; probably thinks I'm too flighty or something. Doesn't mean we can't still work together; Jackvenger and I didn't always see eye to eye, but I'd still help him in a heartbeat. She cleared her throat and indicated Brandish with a nod. "I think me and Johhny Switchblade will tag along with you guys; strength in numbers and all that." She put her hands on her hips and considered the Spartan interior of her Vault, shaking her head. "Y'know, I really should furnish the place; mini-fridge, Lava lamp, a few throw pillows..." Then the changeling turned to the young swordsman and jerked a thumb over her shoulder. "Alright kid, hop in; once I zip the door shut, you won't have any cell service, but you won't run out of air, either."

Lance eyes clouded with concern for a second, sensing Terrifica's hint of unease, but then he was back to his warm and cheerful self. "Sure thing, ma'am! One cup of witches' brew coming up." He ladled a Solo cup full and put it on the bar. Noting the genius heroine's arrival at the bar, Gretchen arched an eyebrow and reached into her bodice, pulling the flask out just far enough to show a peek of silver. "Do you need any fortification? I know it makes this sort of thing easier for me."

This was all very odd; how long had this man been in the bunker? Just a few minutes or much longer? In general, Casey believed in trusting people, but even an optimist like her knew not everyone was trustworthy. Ultimately she decided to risk It, so she quietly dropped down to the ground and approached him. "Excuse me sir, are you alright? Do you need any help?" She held her hands out to both sides to show she was unarmed, though she wasn't sure what he'd make of her red, white, blue and gold outfit.

When you possess superhiman speed, homework becomes a much less daunting task; it usually only took Casey about one minute to complete her daily coursework, and that included double checking her math, proofing her papers and rereading all the chapters in her textbooks. And you can only exercise so much as well, so the blonde heroine had taken to patrolling at night, usually two hours before dinner and an hour or two afterwards. Many nights were quiet, in which case flying over the glorious metropolis was its own reward, but usually something came up; a girl with her abilities was very useful if there was a fire or traffic accident, or If the FCPD were Involved in a high-speed chase, and little by little the sight of Miracle Girl was becoming a familiar one in Freedom. "Rain, rain, go away..." Casey floated listlessly In the angry sky, her hair and uniform plastered to her body; the cold didn't really bother her, but the damp was getting to be a bit much. She wiped her face for the umpteenth time, and wondered what kind of soup they were serving at the cafeteria tonight. Hot cocoa and a bathrobe sounded pretty good, too. She was seriously considering calling it a night, but then the familiar signs of trouble made an appearance, and all thoughts of her own discomfort were quickly dispelled. "Well, time to go to work." Focusing on the alarm's signal, she zoomed down to discover its source, her extraordinary eyes peeled for trouble.

Grim joined the two men at the point of departure, sniffing the air as she approached; she carefully stepped around the site on feet that barely disturbed the soil, extended one claw on her pinkie, crouched down and took a small scoop of dirt, which she waved under her sensitive nose. Though she wasn't quite up to Kingsnake's level, she did pretty good. "You're half right," she said as she rose to her feet, dusting off her hands. "Two of them did take off to the northwest." She pointed the same direction Bastion had indicated, but them pivoted on the balls of her feet to point across the bay. "But two went north as well; fliers, mostly likely, or at least one of them was. And the traces of machine oil in this print would suggest they were the ones who actually have your suit." The changeling stepped to one side and drew a circle in the air with one finger; it opened a portal into Grim's own little corner of Faerie, which resembled a sort of dim bower under a tree. The space beyond smelled of pine needles and pristine air untainted by even a hint of polution. She gestured towards the portal and grinned. "So, who's flying Giant Robo and who's flying Air Grimalkim?"

Casey frowned thoughtfully. "Are there any buildings you do recognize? Like maybe some of the older ones? That might give us some clues about how your world is different from ours." Then another idea struck her, and she became increasingly excited. "Or what about technology? Do they have smartphones on your-" However the arrival of the more mature version of Tria brought the young heroine up short, at least part of which was her internal fangirling. Oh my God, that's Triakosia; the real one! Not to knock the one who's my age, but... Doing the best to play it cool, Casey strode confidently up to the new arrival. "Hi! I'm Miracle Girl, and I'm just...such a huge fan of yours, really!" But then her face darkened as she looked between the two Trias. "Wait, is it dangerous for you to both be here at the same time? I'm not really clear on how dimensional anomalies work, to be honest."
