  1. Seeing the big pirate knocked back, Ana jumped through the huge hole he knocked in her ice wall and planted her left index finger square in the middle of his forehead. "You need to leave now; go run and help your captain, or I swear I will turn your brains into frozen yogurt." She froze a small section of skin in drive the point home; hopefully her Ice powers could overcome her small size in the scary department.
  2. Yeah, let's just get all the Initiatives up right now. Grimalkin: 1d20+12=23
  3. Seeing the tall reptillian alien seated on the floor, calmly stripping off the insulation with the knife, oddly made Ana feel homesick; the whole thing looked so innocent, like a child at school working on an art project. Nostalgia for Earth always struck her out of left field like that. But then suddenly something struck the hull; the impact rattled the entire ship, sending Ana's tools clattering to the deck. She dropped to a crouch and quickly scooped them up, ready to keep going; but then she happened to look up and catch a look at the metalic things heading for engineering and her heart skipped a beat. "Oh, Jesus Christ," she whispered hoarsely as she rapidly began to jam the newly-stripped couplers into place.
  4. Alright, cool; at least the round isn't wasted. Will do a quick reaction post.
  5. Craft: Mechanical: 1d20+19=22 Drat! I was trying for the DC 30 check and missed; does that still count towards the 10 successes even though I can't take another action?
  6. Lynn invited Blod to visit her store in an earlier thread, so that's one possible hook, though the three Claremonters may already know each other; obviously the case for Jay and Kit ;)
  7. Crap, were people waiting on my roll here? Sorry! 1d20+4=18 Yeah, no. Also I did not realize Terrifica didn't have Knowledge: Technology; I was waiting on her to post Though I guess she does have Jack-of-All-Trades.
  8. Grimalkin will definitely be part of Phase Two and Miracle Girl will do a vignette.
  9. A better description of Casey's powers would probably be an energy field that gives her the powers of super-strength and flight; otherwise she's fine.
  10. Lynn's rendition of Ursula's villain song was a big hit, and her pyrotechnic finish elicited delighted shrieks. When Sam volunteered her girlfriend to sing next, Gretchen shook her head as she stepped over to Tona's side. "Don't force her to do something she doesn't want to; that's not cool." Lance shrugged his big padded shoulders as he took another swig of his beer. "Well, maybe she can do something else if she wants, like an espresso shot challenge. Y'know, something more in her comfort zone." "Archery demonstration, out back." Everyone turned to see Lynn sitting on the edge of the big wooden table, playfully tossing a big red apple from hand to hand. "A little bird told me you're a pretty good shot." She raised her eyebrows and took a big bite out of the apple. All eyes swung back to Tona.
  11. Cryo roll! 1d20+9=18 Bam! DC 24 Toughness save with 6 ranks of Penetrating in your face!
  12. Ana grimaced as the big pirate drove his fist clear through her ice wall; this was not good! But then Oskar did something insane and wonderful with his gun, and the entire area was lit up with the warm fuzzy glow of a massive plasma discharge. As bit of ice and debris rained down on her, the young cryokinetic found the courage to poke her head through her wall and address the huge reptile on the other side, grinning with dark humor. "You know, now might be a good time to run." And then she blew him an arctic kiss at point blank range.
  13. Craft: Mechanical with Aid: 1d20+21=41 Yeah, that oughta do'er!
  14. After this next set of posts, we'll do Initiative.
  15. Okay, in the interest fairness here's Team Evil's Stealth roll: 1d20+10=11 I am disappointed, gentlemen; very disappointed So everyone but Miss Grue sees them; this will work. Feel free to describe your reactions to seeing the moving shadows. Grim will be seeing them on the monitors, as can RR; since Terrifica rolled so insanely well, let's say she actually notes one sneaking out of the Attic (aka the control room).
  16. Grim might be good in this one; she has some experience with alternate dimensions and stuff.
  17. Casey cocked her head to one side once she saw the gathering under the tree; she hadn't seen this many girls outside since her last Scout meeting back home. "Huh; 'girls' night out' usually isn't this literal." As she and her roommate approached, several familiar faces appeared out of the darkness; actually there was one boy, Vonnie. Casey offered a friendly wave. "Hi guys! Great night to get wet, huh?" Spotting a friend from journalism, she made her way to her side. "You smell a story too, Ming?"
  18. When the giant thug brought his fist crashing down on the vintage cash register, Lynn reacted like she'd just been punched in the gut; she just stood there staring at the ruined machine like her puppy had died. Once the goons were outside, Kiki cleared her throat and offered to ring up anyone paying with a credit card. Soon the rest of the customers quietly cleared out, except for two whom Lynn finally realized were talking to her. "We have cameras." She mutely pointed at the small units discreetly tucked into several corners of the store, they looked surprisingly high-end for a small privately-owned bookstore. The store owner approached the poor mangled register, eyes moist with tears as she tried to assess the damage; even the normally stoic Gretchen looked almost as devastated as Lynn. "It's no use; she's gone." At last Erick's odd warning sank in. "Oh, right." She sent her eyes and ears shifting through all the glamoured objects throughout the store, even upstairs and outside, especially the front of the store; to an outside observer, the young woman just appeared to be staring off into space.
  19. Okay, I need Notice checks for everyone! I'm going to assume that even though she's lightly napping, Terrifica still has some sort of awareness about her. Grimalkin: 1d20+15=25
  20. GM Once she wheeled herself to the front of the line, Catherine was greeted by what appeared to be a zombie biker in a wheelchair, but it was really 'Butch' wearing makeup inspired by the cover to The Cramps' Bad Music For Bad People. The amount of hair gel to get his salt-and-pepper shoulder length hair up that high must have been considerable. He rolled up to Catherine to greet her. "Hey hey, fellow traveler! Roll up for the Mystery Tour!" He gestured towards the next waiting car, which looked a lot like a classic fun house staple, but a young college student in mummy bandages was removing the back so the disabled guest could roll right in. "Just roll into the grooves, lock your wheels and hold onto the bar; you'll be fine." The sounds of excited shrieks, ghoulish sound effects and macabre music (somewhere an organist was playing 'Toccata and Fugue in D minor', natch) were clearly audible from within; once Catherine was ready to go, the car jerked forward, took a sharp turn to the left, and pushed open the double doors into pitch black... - - - Up in the catwalks, Charlie had a wonderful view of the Warehouse; it was like looking down on one of those middle school science projects with a mouse in a maze, but with a lot more strobe lights, air horns and cutting edge animatronics. You could follow a car's progress through patches of light and darkness, watch Dad and the kids or a young couple react to each gag in turn, and finally roll back on outside into the crisp fall air. People seemed to be getting a kick out of his Frankenstein's Monster gag, which looked totally awesome. - - - Daphne's abilities really allowed her to shine in this environment; she could offer a truly thrilling scare without hurting anybody, and the guests seemed to be eating it up. They couldn't believe it when their car rolled right through a ghost! - - - But some of the shadows seemed to be behaving oddly; they moved about on their own, independent of any light source, sliding along floors or creeping up walls. Must be one of the other superheroes, right? Right?
  21. Grim looked up and smiled at the big lady; there could be no doubt she had worked her ass off all week, though her somewhat impaired mental faculties did make explaining things to her a challenge. Still, the changeling-in-chief had taken quite a shine to her. "Hiya Rat! Well, at this point there are two things you can do." She held up a finger. "First, keep your eyes, ears and nose open for any signs of trouble, like a fire or if someone falls and hurts themselves." She shook her head. "And don't worry about the scary people, they're just pretending to be monsters." Then she held up two fingers. "Two, you can scare people! Just sneak up behind someone one and yell! It's lots of fun, too! But remember, you can't hurt anyone, okay?" Part of Grim knew there was a real good chance Rat would make a mess of things; who could forget Wednesday's epic 'pancake incident'? But the parent in her couldn't bear to not let her have some fun. "So, which would you rather do, be helpful or scary? Either way is fine."
