  1. Gretchen's face was unreadable for several seconds as she cocked her head to one side, her dark blue eyes piercing in their intensity. And then she blinked. "Well, then." She closed her laptop with a click, stepped out from behind her desk and motioned for Robin to lead the way. "After you."
  2. The vanishing of the teachers horrified Shift; were they still alive, or did he just send them somewhere? This Quirk was no ordinary child, if he was a child at all! But there will still children present, and as the closest thing to responsible adults in the room, it was her and Luke's duty to keep them safe. She folded her arms and looked sternly at the floating child. "I'd be happy participate in a race with you, Quirk, but only if you show me that the teachers are all safe."
  3. Shift wants to use his VP to generate the following: Concealment 4 (All Visual Senses, Feat: Close Range, Flaw: Blending) 5PP
  4. Okay, after weeks if sitting in my ass, here we go! Going to keep this simple. Unarmed attack: 1d20+10=27 DC 25 Toughness check if that connects. I'll post IC once I know if I've hit or not.
  5. It's been a while since I've been in a fight this epic, so bear with me. If MG wants to fly into Captain Wolfy and tackle him, holding him pinned while the other heroes get the civilians clear, is that just a straight Unarmed Strike attack, or would it require two sets of rolls, one to make contact and one to initiate a grapple?
  6. "I've seen a few things about her online. Very Goody Two-Shoes, like Miracle Girl back home." Gretchen frowned slightly and adjusted her glasses. "I don't know why I said that. Reflex, I guess. By all accounts, Miracle Girl's the real deal." She finished up whatever she was typing, and then turned her full attention to Robin, arms folded across her chest. "I'll help you out, under one condition. That you stop blaming yourself for things that are out of your control. Mars stole the tech from you to use for his own ends. You are not responsible for what he's done with your tech. Understand?"
  7. Admittedly the idea of missing classes didn't appeal to the young robot, for whom school was still very new and therefore exciting, and not the drudgery it was to many more experienced students. But she did like the idea of spending more time with two of her best friends, and this teleporting house could be dangerous to the citizens of Freedom. Also she worried about Luke possibly getting hurt without her there to protect him. "I'm in," she said with a confident nod and a slight mischievous smile.
  8. This all seemed very off to Shift, though she couldn't put her finger on why. Of course, once it was confirmed that the strange boy didn't even belong there, several alarms went off in her head. She took a step toward the odd child, hands on her hips. "Well Quirk, can you tell us what your idea of fun is? Maybe it's something we can all do together."
  9. Casey the questions Terrifica posed significant thought, idly stroking her chin with a gloved hand. "Well...I actually don't know that many heroes, outside of the two of you. Sea Devil is dedicated and hard-working. A little odd, but that's only because she's from a very different culture from ours, so that's really only cultural bias. Queenie's pretty great, too." Her brow furrowed in thought. "As far as what kinds of cases, that's even tougher. We do have a very broad skill set, which is good; I'd go so far as to say we compliment each other pretty well. I think...cases that require more than a quick fix, you know? I think we're all in it for the long haul, and willing to put in the extra time and effort that a trickier case might require." She shrugged and smiled somewhat self-conciously. "If that makes any sense."
  10. From his first encounter with Sebastian, Pol has carried a deep dislike of the young man, but the robot was in no way prepared for the revelations his fellow students had turned up. "This boy is a menace! We need to expose his manipulations as soon as possible. For all we know, he's used his powers on the teachers here at Claremont, or even Mr. Summers herself!" "I don't know anything about the other students, but getting out of school grounds should not prove to difficult for me, at least." The millions of nanobots that composed his surfaced rippled, and the young robot collapsed into a pool of metalic sludge, before reforming into his male persona,a a goofy smile in his handsome face. "Ive been practicing some new techniques."
  11. Sorry for the absence of posts. Did I miss my slot in initiative?

  13. Lulu nearly spat up her milk with excitement as she vigorously nodded her head. "Yeah, yeah, absolutely! Ah mean, ah can make us invisible, but we'd still show up camera, so maybe add a change of clothes and some sunglasses. Ah got more than enough liftin' power with my TK to fly us out of here, and ah fly quiet as a church mouse." She made a low swooping gesture with her hand,
  14. Shift smiled and smoothly sat up and swung their legs over the edge of the table, and returned to their earlier 'party girl' appearance to allow for more expression. "Thank you, both. I appreciate everything you're doing for me." Then she turned to Miss A. "Earlier you asked about any documents I might have on Integrated Dynamics and their designs?" She pursed her lips and raised her eyebrows. "I might have held onto something my parents didn't know about." She held out her right hand, and a small flash drive slid neatly out from under her thumbnail. "Copies of all the contracts, emails and specs I could get my hands on before they wrecked the lab. One hundred and fifty-three files." Shift smiled as she placed the drive in Miss A's hand. "I hope they are of use."
  15. On the first day of school, Sebastian made quite an impression on Shift, and it was not a good one. Subsequent rumors and the showy appearance of his hand-picked team had done nothing to improve their opinion of the boy. So when word reached the robot that hinted at some sort of comeuppance for the arrogant mind control, Shift was eager to join in. Wearing a darker version of a Claremont uniform and a more intimidating take on their blond male form, the shapeshifter arrived at the library with a determined look on his face. "I am here."
  16. Shift frowned slightly as she gave quick, uncertain looks at Luke and Mr. Powers as her school uniform returned. "Well, Claremont is still a school, so we still have to do homework. But it's true, that's not all we do. We practice using our powers, both on our own and working together." She swallowed, a truly unnecessary gesture she'd picked up living among humans. "Do you not like doing your homework?"
  17. - Hey, watch where you shoot that lightning! Some of us are flying up here! - Lulu's voice, minus her accent for some reason, suddenly appeared inside Tremayne's head. The tone was good-natured, but with just a hint of fear and annoyance. The boys still seemed to be just goofing around while the two girls were already getting to work; typical. Hopefully they'd start taking this more seriously soon.
  18. "People never want to ask for stuff," Lulu muttered as she shook her head. "They just go ahead and take." She understood fear and desperation; they had a way of blinding people to simple truths. Or was it shame? Still, who goes right to essentially grave robbing? The telepath stood ready in case anyone was dumb enough to choose violence, but she hoped the time for fighting had passed.
  19. Pol didn't consume human food, but they still liked lunch time for socializing. It was a great time to catch up with friends or just talk about random fun stuff. This morning they'd been using their default mechanical form, since it required minimal thought. When Zach called Pol and Luke over, the robot paused for a moment, then assumed their common female form wearing a simple T-shirt and torn jeans. She wasn't sure why, but she preferred to be female around Luke. Running her fingers through her hair, Pol came she came over to Zach's table and carefully sat next to Luke to preserve the cafeteria furniture. "Like a mystery? I'd be up for a mystery." She turned to Luke and grinned."Hi, Luke! I like your shirt."
  20. I think you want to add the IC tag in your first post, Red. It makes it easier for thread counting.
  21. Doktor'd! My first edit for Shift! There are a few minor changes in fluff (such as changing references to the Labyrinth to the Foundry), but several in the crunch. Basically I removed two ranks of Super-Senses and all three ranks of Features to combine with my five earned PP to created the 5 PP Variable Power, which has several sample powers listed.
  22. I'm going to submit this to the edit thread.
