  1. Lynn's ears went a bit pink when she realized she'd just outed Ellie to the clueless Eli, but things seemed to be okay. To smooth things over a bit more, she slapped her forehead dramatically. "That's right, you weren't here for the all-girls strip poker sleepover party! I'm so sorry, dude, I thought you got the pictures I emailed you; check your spam filter settings." All joking aside, she once again approached her models. "Okay, so it seems like my fortified bunker-inspired plans are being shot down, so where do we want to do the reception?" She indicated the Brownstone mock-up. "I thought we might be able to do it here, but that might be too darned public...unless we covered the building with like an invisibilty dome or something." She playfully looked at Dok out of the corner of her eye.
  2. Initiative for Gossamer: 1d20+7=13. Meh. Oh wait, everyone rolled like crap! :D
  3. Okay, several months of unspent pp converted into skill points! Here we go! (Revised spending.) 1. 5pp = 20 ranks of skills Disable Device +5 Gather Information +5 Knowledge (Streetwise) +1 (new skill!) Notice +4 Search +2 Stealth +3 2. Coverting 1pp from personal Feats to a Device feat and spending the remaining 1pp to add another rank, allowing her to convert the suit into any outfit (Quick Change 2) IT'S OVER! Doktor'd
  4. While looking over Gossamer's sheet last night as I prepared her character edit for the month, I realized a few things: 1.) Gossamer has one rank of Quick Change feat to allow her to switch into her 'battlesuit' from any outfit. 2.) It would be cool if she got an upgrade that allowed her to switch into any outfit. 3.) As currently written up on her sheet, Quick Change is a personal feat, which really doesn't make sense for her character, especially since I've played it as a property of the suit's tech. Here's the suit as it stands now: Device 5 (Bodysuit, 25 points, hard to lose) [20pp] Communication 4 (1 mile, radio) Datalink 4 (1 mile, radio) Immunity 1 (cold) Protection 8 (Extra: Impervious 8) I'd like to shift the feat to a property of the suit, since Goss can't do a QC without it, and it would be even cooler if she could come up with new outfits, perhaps based on a set of templates stored in the device; this way it would play more like the morphic molecule suits worn by the Atom Family. I might even want to add a chameleon mode (i.e Blending), thought that could wait. Any advice on the best way to do this? She has up to 6pp to spend (though I was to save some of them for skills) plus the 1pp from the original feat. Pending this discussion, I'm taking down my current edits and saving them, since I may well want to do something different.
  5. This might have been a serious mistake. At the edge of the airstrip a bit back in the trees, Gossamer was crocuhed behind a fallen treetrunk, peering at the action through binoculars. Since she'd started dating Gregory 'Mad Dog' Matthews, she'd taken a great interest in the criminal underworld of Freedom City, in the hopes of becoming a better crimefighter to work at her boyfriend's side. She'd hit the books and Internet pretty fiercely since the beginning of the year, trying to cram as much knowledge about crime into her head as possible. And tonight she'd gotten her first real lead! Unfortunatly in her quest to prove to herself she could handle the gritty street stuff, she'd neglected to tell Greg exactly what her plans were for the evening. This is how she ended up alone in the forest on a cold night, wearing the darkest ski clothing she could find, with her five foot long shiny golden braid tucked down inside her jacket and coiled around her torso a few times. What the hell is that young man doing out there? Oh, I wish I had a parabolic mic, or could at least read lips. At least my Russian's good. For the moment, she decided to stay put and bide her time, but the minute the lad looked to be in danger, she would move into swift action; she just wasn't sure what said action would be yet.
  6. I bumped a few of her more investigative skills (she is dating a street vigilante, after all), but the edits might take a bit; I'll still jump in here.
  7. Grim's eyebrow went up at this, and she leaned over to rest a friendly hand on Wisp's knee. "Dude, I don't need to eat and I have cash on me; I can treat you to some bagels and coffee, alright?" She smiled and sat back. "I like this; it fells kinda like a mentorship prgram, y'know? The new kid getting pointers and free food from the experienced yet still youthfully alluring seasoned professional."
  8. Lynn looked at the young woman like she had two heads. ""
  9. The changeling flashed an edgy smile. "I am so glad to hear you say that; usually folks want to talk me out of beating people up." She looked off in the direction of her neighborhood. "I can fly us both over there, no problem, but, uh..." She surveyed her colleague's fetid flesh. "Would you be droppin' bits along the way? At least you could find your way home."
  10. Lynn nodded as she leaned over to peek at the various odds and ends. "" She looked back over her shoulder at the changeling. "
  11. Lynn had nodded in agreement with much of what Dok said, but when he came to this last point, her heart sagged and her head drooped a bit. "Yeah, your probably right; I do want you to meet my mom someday, and maybe my dad, but I think you may be right..." But then another thought hit her which made her brighten up considerably, and she waved her hands in excitement. "Omigod, Vince! You could run the security cameras and be our videographer! Oh, and narrate the wedding video! I smell Oscar, baby!" The worried look on Ellie's little face made Lynn feel all warm inside. "You want to bring along your awesomely adorable girlfriend with her knowledge of super-science? Hell yeah!" She laughed. "See, I kinda see our wedding party as being, like, the Seven Samurai, so having her around just makes good tactical sense, too." And then she smiled like a big sister. "And I wanna see you happy, hermanita. And dancing."
  12. Estelle smiled, rested her head on her boyfriend's shoulder and said nothing, but then a thick golden tendril slowly slipped out of her jacket; unseen by the rest of the audience and still warm from being close to her body under her coat, it slid under Greg's jacket and wrapped itself snuggly around his torso where it remained, occasionaly adjusting itself like a sleeping snake. The touch was strange, powerful and yet intensely intimate, much like the woman herself.
  13. The one possible link i can come up with for Gossamer is her boyfirend Mad Dog; she's offered to help him in his pursuit of the FC mob, so perhaps she's been boning up on her Streetwise/Profession: Criminologist skills. She's got a ton of unspent PP I can apply yo the task, And I promise I will post regularly, as I'm heading out of my recent funk :)
  14. Gossamer is a PL12 who speaks fluent Russian...I'm just sayin'.... ;)
  15. "I've been good, I've been good; got engaged, started taking college classes to make my brain all big and tempting..." She gave the friendly stiff a wink. "How 'bout yourself?" And now all evidence of good cheer drained from her face, and the shapeshifter looked down at her feet. "Uh, well, there've been some incidents...in Jewish cemeteries that last few days. Whoever these bastards are, they've hit three in the West End in three nights, and...I haven't been able to catch 'em." She started to rhythmically strike her thigh with her fist. "I'm pretty sure they're gonna hit Elmweir next, but they've yet to show tonight." When she finally looked up to meet Dead Head's eyes, angry tears were burning her cheeks. "I don't just want to stop them, I want to hurt them; I know that's wrong, but...I just don't understand where the hate comes from, y'know? What the hell did the Jews really do? Other than get screwed over since the dawn of time..."
  16. Grim looked thoughtful as the others discussed various business models based on super-powers. "Wow, I used to be a bike messenger and I didn't even think of doing that once I figured out how to fly...huh." She tried to shift her focus back to her cards, but there were clearly gears turning inside her head. "Well there was some discussion at one point of making superhero movies, with like, real superheroes in them; that might still be fun. Not that I really need tons of money since my food and clothing budget is now zero."
  17. Lynn chuckled at Mona's humorous take on Victorian mores. "Well, the best part of the whole trip, for me at least, was a chance to face down my old foe Rasputin; it had been far too long since me and the Mad Monk crossed paths, and the battle proved to be epic indeed!" She did her best to hide her smile behind her drink. "Oh, and having my portrait done by Willaim Blake was also pretty frickin' cool; that part I didn't just make up."
  18. The whole wizardly vibe was getting to be a bit overwhelming for Lynn; the many bizarre smells wafting off the spell components, and the odd little details crammed into each and every corner. At last she had to close her eyes, take a deep breath and let it out slowly, "
  19. Lynn looked a little embarrassed, but happily accepted the cup of Sleepytime tea Mona brought her. "I'm sorry, guys, it's just...pretty much my whole family is going to be there, and I want to be married like this-" She indicated her pointy ears. "This is who I am now, and I know that being another person is an important part of our job, but if I can't be the real me in front of the ones I love, then what's the point?" She waved a hand in Erik and Ellie's direction. "You guys, of course, can be whoever you want; you identies aren't mine to reveal." The shapeshifter jerked her thumb over her shoulder. "Oh, it's real close by; oh man, did I not show it to you guys?" She covered her eyes in shame. "I am a bad teammate; the official opening had to be pushed back a few times, so at this point I figured we should just wait until after the wedding." She shrugged. "I always wanted a small ceremony, and we don't have to pay to use it, plus it's important to my family and me, so I figured..." And then she started to tear up a bit. "It'll be like Grampa Lou is right there with us."
  20. At first, Estelle looked a bit concerned when Greg started to explain his feelings; she'd been secretly worrying about the power inequality issue for a while, but hadn't been able to come up with the right way to broach the subject. But as her boyfriend continued, her worries melted away; thankfully it seemed Greg was confident enough in himself as both a man and as a 'hero' to not lt it bother him overly, which came as a huge relief to her. "You should be proud of your accomplishments; you spend almost all your waking hours working to help people and reduce suffering. Your a good man, and I was lucky to find you." She pulled him in close by the collar to give him a fierce kiss. "Mm-mmm! Oh look, beer!" The bottles once again emerged from inside her jacket, the caps furtively popped by a pair of quick golden flickers. "Cheers!" After a swig, Estelle pointed down the aisle. "Let's go find our seats."
  21. At first Lynn was concerned; she'd made sure to get to the club plenty early, hoping for a chance to wish Eddie good luck, but word in the club was that the lead singer hadn't arrived yet. The changeling slipped into the shadows and snuck backstage, invisible to all but the most sensitive individuals, to check it out. She didn't go into any dressing rooms or anything, which struck her as being rude, but there was definitly a little edgve in the air as the rest of the bad was getting ready. He'll show; the kid does love an audience, after all. She made her way back out into the crowd and conjured up a cranberry juice, not really wanting to stand in line for not-booze. After a few more agonizing minutes, the band finally took the stage sans Eddie. Oh, this doesn't look good... But just when she started to lose faith in the musical whiz kid, he just appeared onstage, making for a hell of an entrance, and Lynn couldn't help but smile as she joined in the applause. "Well played, drama boy, well played."
  22. Estelle eagerly rubbed her hands in anticipation as they approached the famous local sandwich vendor. "Mmm, an excellent choice! A nice roast beef club and a bag of chips would really hit the spot." She was more than happy to let Greg pay, invoking her 'pretty lady privileges', though of course she had scored them both a beer, so it wasn't like she wasn't contributing. She thanked the young sandwich maker when their order was up, and as they headed back into the crowd, the conversation turned back to a point her boyfriend raised earlier. "So is it hard for you, dating a so-called 'superheroine'? I like to think of myself as being fairly feminine, but does the whole 'strength of ten men' aspect ever make you feel, oh..." She waved her sandwich around as she groped for the right word. "Well I don't want to say 'impotent', but now I've gone ahead and said it, so there you are. Or just plain 'less masculine', I suppose." Her tone of voice expressed mild amusement, but just the hint of a concerned frown graced her brow.
  23. So just to clarify, all the Interceptors are invited, including Vince, Dok and Ellie, all of whom Grim considers to be teammates.
