It was discovered in chat the Grim's Create Object AP was deeply flawed; it should now read like this:
Alternate Power: Create Object 5 (Feats: Innate, Precise, Progression 2, Subtle, Extras: Duration [Continuous], Flaws: Range [Touch]; Drawbacks: Power loss: Contact with Iron) [12PP]
Done by angrydurf

It had just been an offhand joke, of course, like ninety percent of the things that came out of her mouth, but the way Dok described his vision made perfect sense. Heck, she could play any role she wanted, help out with instant props that didn't require any trees to be cut down or end up in oozing toxic waste in some landfill... Grim rolled on her back to make eye contact with her employer, nodded and gave him the thumbs up. "Anytime, anywhere, I'm your girl. Just let me have my Uncle Abe go over the contracts with a fine-toothed comb; he's an entertainment lawyer in LA."
-
I think I'm wearing a girdle. Grim slowly stood up, her ridicuouly long sleeve things trailing down past her waist; if she pinwheeled her arms, she'd probably be airborne. To be honest, the dress was actually gorgeous, and she knew her dark brown hair looked good spilling down the length of her back in its natural curls. It just wasn't...her. The changeling scowled at this not-very-serious accustation. "Hey, more than likely this is not my fault! It's probably has something to do with that darn book Talya brought over. Alright, these silly little slippers have to go..." At least as a shapeshifter she had some control over what she wore; with but a thought, Grim's elfin figure was surrounding by swirling mist, which parted to reveal...the exact same outfit. "What? No way!" She tried again and again and again, but the dress remained; she melted down to goo, made herself into a pixie, a panther and chest of drawers, but whenever she assumed human form again, the Maid Marian look returned. The tiny princess stomped her foot in frustration. "Argh! Not fair! Fine, y'know what, whatever; I'll deal." She did not look happy as she gracefully stepped to Colt's side, helping him to his feet. "How're ya doin', hon?" When the others commented on the sounds in the dstance, she nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I hear 'em, too; sounds like one of those English fox hunts."

Lynn just stared at him for a few seconds, hands on her hips as she slowly chewed her lower lip. "You're completely useless, you know that?" She laughed and shook her head as she conjured up a chalkboard on an easel and a piece of chalk. Across the top of the board she mispelled 'SILOUETTE', which she underlined three times. "Okay, so what we've got so far is-" NICE + HELPFUL WEARS BLACK AT NIGHT Lynn tapped the blackboard with her chalk a few times. "Do you see that I mean about you're being useless? Okay, did you fight anyone with her? What powers did she use, or is she more like a ninja girl? Did you talk about anything else other than, what was it, zombies? Movies, food, clothes, music, anything?"

I'm fine with flying blind; it's pretty much the way I go through life anyways ;)

"Well, let's step carefully then; this floor doesn't inspire me with much confidence." Estelle indicated Fusion with a nod. "Between the two of us, we should have more than enough safety lines in case the floor gives way." She turned to look at Nick, Jennifer and her cameraman as she offered a few free golden tendrils. "Anyone for a tether?"

At Mad Dog's sudden arrival on her side of the booth, Gossamer involuntarily shied away from him slightly, shifting over a bit closer to the wall; she liked Gregory quite a bit and clearly the feeling was mutual, but he seemed to be moving a bit quickly for her taste. She turned to face him and sighed. "MD, I'm just as excited about this evening's activities as you are, but we need to take things one step a time. And we need to be very clear that our first priority of the evening is doing our jobs; taking pleasure in each other's company is all well and good, but..." She gently laid a hand on his shoulder. "Please remember that I just got out of a whirlwind romance from which I'm still recovering; if we rush things, if either of us pushes too hard, we can break something that hasn't had a chance to grow." She indicated the other side of the booth with an apologetic nod. "So I'm asking you, politely and with respect, to please return to your seat; this is only our second evening together, and despite your many charms I'm not quite ready to be so cozy." Estelle smiled sadly, and then brushed her hair out of her face, a truly unnecessary gesture left over from her pre-heroic days. "As to villains I've fought, it's mostly been alien invaders and thugs in powersuits; no one truly impressive, I’m afraid."

[Interceptors] Zombie Powder is a Helluva Drug [OOC]

Kick! In! Face! Kick! In! Face! Kick! In! Face! :D -
Grim nodded vigorously at this. "I know, right? I mean, it's not like either one is actually a realistic portrayal of life in outer space! Where's the love, people? Why can't we all just get along?" Grim scratched the back of her head as her robe shifted into a maskless version of her regular costume; it was probably what she felt most comfortable in, at least down here. "Hmm, good question there. I'm guessin' you've already got the footage from all our other workout sessions on disk or whatever, so I guess if we don't wanna just redo stuff you've already got... well, I haven't done so much with the conjuring, y'know, the item creation stuff." She looked around the lab, craning her neck this way and that as she crossed her legs Indian style. "So do you have like a special area where you'd want me to make the stuff, or can you just use your little tricorder thing right here?"
-
Grim adopted a pained expression. "But heedlessly leaping headlong into danger is what we do best!" Beat. "Seriously, I'm not even makin' that up." Lynn happily shook Tayla's hand, always glad to have folks over to the Brownstone; security be damned! She offered the classy British dame a crisp salute. "We'll do what we can, ma'am; the Interceptors are on the case!" The tiny shapeshifter squinted as she appraised the cat burglar anew, and muttered under her breath. "Well that's...that's a lotta work for one darn kiss. Guess she really does love the chase." Then she casually turned her back on Erik and Talya, in case he wanted a chance to reciprocate... ;)
-
Grim gave Dok a look and shook her head. "Don't...don't do the Yoda voice again. Some thing's are just plain wrong." Then a thought hit her that made her laugh out loud. "Oh God, my parents are gonna be so upset; they're huge Star Trek fans!" And with that, as if by magic, Grim felt much better; since she was a kid, she'd been good at finding the humor in things, a gift that had done more to keep her alive than any superpower. She drummed her hands on the examination table. "So, I think therefore I am; got it. What's the next item up for bid? How next can I warp the the laws of time and space without actually warping them? And can I put my pants back on? I'm sure this table is cold, if I could feel it."
-
Lynn hopped up again, clearly jazzed by this news as she started pacing out her thoughts again. "Okay, forget about the shapeshifter girl; I have it on good authority they make lousy girlfriends." She gave him a good-humored wink and continued pacing without breaking her stride. "So tell me more about this Silhouette girl. Is she cute? Is she funny? Where'd you two meet? Are her powers all sexy and stuff? Details, man, details! I need something to work with here!"
-
Estelle chuckled and shook her head. "No, of course you're right. Or maybe we're both right, in a way; life is cyclical and ever-changing, and every generation complains about how wonderful things were when they were young." She shrugged, her mantle of gold riding up on her shoulders. "In fact, it's one of the most wonderful things about being human, that certainty. It's what's wonderful about being young...and growing old." With a satisfied sigh, she linked arms with Corbin and patted him affectionately on the back of the hand as she turned her eyes skyward again. "But enough talk of Man and his destiny; let's watch the pretty lights some more." ;)
-
Estelle blushed apologetically and waved a dismissive hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound so negative." But then she stopped herself and considered the young man beside her. "Corbin, you're a student of history; surely you've read enough about the falls of empires to see the similarities between say Rome and the proud nation we now live in?" She sighed and shook her head. "Unlike you, I've lived in this rarefied air my whole life; I went to the best and most expensive schools, spent my winters in the Caribbean and my summers in the capitols of Europe. I've met presidents, captains of industry and even the occasional royal." And here a touch of that unnamable ache returned to her voice. "And I've studied chemistry. Are you familiar with Hoyle's Third Law of Thermodynamics? 'As a system approaches absolute zero, all processes cease and the entropy of the system approaches a minimum value.' In short, and in admittedly reductive layman's terms, it means everything breaks down eventually. Even our empires." She casts her gaze over all the fashionable glitterati, all the food and drink, and of course the elephant, and sighs as she wraps her arms about herself. "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" At last she smiled sadly and took a deep breath of the chill night air. "Forgive me, Corbin, I seem to be very poor company tonight; perhaps we should save our dance for another time."
-
At Tayla's mention of her 'unique' relationship with both Elena and telepathy, Grim rolled her eyes and conjured up a small sign ala Wile E. Coyote that read 'I'M TRYING TO HELP YOU HERE, LADY!' The shapeshifter dismissed her sign as she tried to wrap her head around what Eli was saying. "So this is bad, right? This is like Marty's picture of his family disappearing at the end of Back to the Future, only we don't know who this princess is or what she represents. And we don't know if she's disappearing from our world, Avalon or somewhere else." She looked at the various faces in the kitchen. "Anyone know a good candidate for our faerie tale princess?"
-
At the mention of 'The Hub of America' aka 'America's Armpit', Grim winced sympathetically. "Eesh! Well if you survived a night in Gear City in that get-up, clearly you're a better crimefighter than I suspected...or else just really good at hiding." She paused to sniff the night air a few times, then jerked a thumb in the direction of the terrified punks. "Hey, do you want to track those guys down and have more fun with them? I can tell you from personal experience that human wee-wee is one of the easiest scents to follow; it's like, a series of giant neon signs pointing the way."

[Interceptors] Zombie Powder is a Helluva Drug [OOC]

Fox and Dr A gave me a few pointers in chat, summed up nicel in the following quote: This is the course of action I shall pursue; based on her roll, Grim can still easily remove both Disabled and Staggered after applying Standard Action, Personal and Total to the AP. Many thanks to Doc and Fox! :D -
[Interceptors] Zombie Powder is a Helluva Drug [IC]

She heard her lover's voice, muffled by the warm crimson fog that filled her head. She felt the movement of the MAVERIC in her gut as Colt frantically manouvered the great beast down the icy streets in pursuit of their prey. There was frantic movement all around her, tuggings and jerkings and the harsh screech of a bandage torn out of its packaging. She felt the warm breath of her lover on her face, so close and yet out of reach, and drifting farther away every second. His hand on her hand for a brief moment, slick with her blood. I'm dying. I'm dying now. And it was that one word, barely at the edge of her conciousness, that pulled her back. Her lover had Death in his voice, and he was about to kill for her. No. Not even for me, Colt. Grimalkin forced her eyes open, and slammed back into a world full of pain and confusion. Her red sticky hands fumbled at her quick-release belt buckle; weakened by bloodloss, it seemed almost an impossible task. The door of the MAVERIC was a bit easier, equipped with a large slappable red button designed to allow quick escape in case of fire or total submersion. The shapeshifter stumbled out into the street, feeling like a drunk on stilts as she careened this way and that. “Colt… Colt…†Her voice was a wet whisper, her lips sticky with salt. And then her eyes found her would-be killer sprawled in the back of his, and she remembered a name. Witchfinder. It was a struggle to keep her eyes open, but she had to see his face; see his bigoted hated-filled eyes go wide as her hand once more found her wound, and a heat like a hot poker shot through her neck, searing it closed as the warmth spread through her whole body. Huh. I didn’t know I could do that. Then she spat blood onto the damp street and smiled a mad, ruddy grin. “You failed. Magic wins again.† -

[Interceptors] Zombie Powder is a Helluva Drug [OOC]

It's just easier to post what Grim's gonna do by copying Doc's suggestion from chat So Grim is gonna stagger out of the MAVERIC, which is ironic since she is in fact Staggered, surge and Heal herself before Witchfinder, Colt and God Himself. And Jackie B! :cthulhu: -
Grim folded her arms and leaned back; she should have fallen over, but a glitter-encrusted purple girls' bicycle (complete with sparkly princess handlebar streamers!), appeared out of nowhere to hold her up in an obvious parody of Push's stance. "Just the ones who fight crime. S'alright, champ, you'll do fine here as long as you follow my lead, and for God’s sake save up some money to buy a real costume. A scarf? Honestly!" She grinned and gave him a friendly wink, but then her tone became grave. "Now I'm gonna let your little joke about my virtue or lack there of slide this time, on account of your impressive use of a polo mallet as a melee weapon, but there is one thing I cannot abide." She stepped closer towards him, a scornful look in her eye as she shook her head in disgust. "How can you not know the 'Magdalena Hagdalena' song? What, your parents never sent you to summer camp? Were you raised in a box?" The shapeshifter conjured up a jump-rope and got to work, expertly flipping the rope around as she faithfully chanted the childhood favorite, her boots tapping out the rhythm; the sight was both charming and completely surreal. "Magdalena Hagdalena Hoopensteiner Wallendiner Hogan Logan Bogan was her name!" With a final flourish, she brought her impromptu performance to a close, dramatically dropping down on one knee like a Janet Jackson background dancer. "That jazz!" :D

Grim followed Carrie's eyeline to the fur-clad Russkies. "Well considering that I can actually feel this cold, yeah, it does seem to be centered on our Slavic pals." She squinted over at them. "Hmm, old dude looks pretty sick; I've heard those Russian royals weren't a very healthy bunch." Suddenly her eyes got big, like she was hoping to run into a rock star. "Hey, do you think we'll get to meet Rasputin? That would be cool!" Then she actually thought about what she's read about the Mad Monk. "And also terrfiying..." -
Grim got Skill Mastery on Notice for an Autocheck of 25, so I'm gonna go with that, which you said was enough for Carrie.

Gossamer snorted and nearly spit up her coffee. "Hardly, MD; I've spent most of my life in either the Hamptons or at Harvard. And here I thought my snooty patrician accent was a dead giveaway." Dolly arrived with the two large camping Thermos with their leather shoulder straps. "Ah, thank you so much, Dolly!" She hefted one and sloshed it a little bit. "Plenty of crimefighting juice in these! Though I suppose bathroom breaks could present a problem..." Setting her jug o' coffee a side, Estelle returned to considering their activities for the evening. "Well, I think we should start near the river first, so that as we work our way northeast we'll be heading back towards home." She pulled out a laminated tourist's map of Freedom, which she'd already marked up in a few places with Post-It notes and wet erase markers. A thin golden thread pointed at the far western edge of the Fens, which was at the far edge of the map. "Perhaps we can plot a route...along here..." The hair kinked itself in a few places as it overlaid the map, marking the route in shimmering light. "And that way, we end our quest here, at Emily's Cafe near Broadway. They're open all night on weekends, and have the most amazing blueberry muffins you've ever tasted!"

I'll do a Knowledge: Streetwise check, I guess, since Grim does not have Well-Informed. Kn: Streewise check: 1d20+11=24 Let me know if she recognizes him, and i will work that into my Healing post.
