Grim's Notice check is Auto 25. Sorry I didn't 'Notice' the request for the check, but mine is much lower

Moira's character Divine has been retired, so I'm going to say she had to leave before the action starts, and will include an explanation in my next IC post.

[Interceptors] Zombie Powder is a Helluva Drug [OOC]
Heritage replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Archives
Based on this earlier OOC post about the previous Disguise roll, I will say that Grim is indeed workin' the Enhanced Charisma/stand-alone Morph package on the hermanos, something she can no longer do based on a later character edit. Oh well, she can do other cool stuff nowadays. :D -
[Interceptors] Zombie Powder is a Helluva Drug [OOC]

Okay, with Skill Mastery Grim's Stealth check is an Auto 33, so that's not a problem. I am confused as to what her Disguise check should be. Last time I rolled in this thread I used +20, but I have no idea where that came from. It seems too high for Enhanced Charisma and too low for Morph. She did have a separate Morph power back than that was not part of her Glamour array, which I think was Morph 2. This could explain the +20 (i.e Enhanced Charisma +10 combined with +10 from 2 ranks of Morph. I'll do a little digging to double check. Just in case, I did roll it the same way I did last time, with the same result! Disguise check: 1d20+20=30 -
[Interceptors] Zombie Powder is a Helluva Drug [IC]
Heritage replied to Dr Archeville's topic in West End
Oh great, some young studs on the prowl. Wait, maybe I can make this work for me... As quickly as she could, Pixie Grim zipped down to the landing below, picking the darkest corner she could find. There she shifted to an attractive young Latina in a leather jacket over some fun party clothes and stylish boots. Then she faked a stumble and started cursing in Spanish. "" She then continued upwards towards the two guys, adopting a slight limp. -
Estelle held up a finger and nodded. "Ah, I stand corrected!" The blonde chemist took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "This is true, and I only have myself to blame! Even though my father more or less disowned me and took me out of his will (or so he says), I still have money left to me from various other relatives, plus all the merchandising revenue from Japan and some other odd investments. No, it's pride in my work and an obsessive need to get to the bottom of things that keeps me under the fume hood until all hours of the night." She rubbed her eyes at the thought of it. "One of the other reasons my dance car has been so empty. That and the fact that I can't stand boring people! Of course, I'm always polite; maintain eye contact, smile and nod, that sort of thing, but after a while it's just too much work." Then she smiled brightly at her companion for the afternoon. "Still, not a concern today, eh?" She raised her coffee cup in salute. "To interesting company; long may it wave!" :P
-
-
Estelle laughed as she raised the cup to her lips; she was still a little stiff, but seemed to be slowly thawing out. "Well let's see how the afternoon goes first before we decide to give it a name and make commemorative plates, alright? Takes a bit of the pressure off." Elegantly returning the cup to its saucer with a gentle clink, she leaned back and smiled. "So, the fact of the matter is I know very little about you, other than the usual nonsense one reads in the papers. You run a West End bar that's been in your family for several years, don't you? I'm sad to say I've spent very little time in your neighborhood since moving here."
-
Oh jeez, really? I asked in the chat and someone told me it was an opera, so I assumed it was the French opera Médée. I'll edit my post when I get a chance.

One of the first things Estelle de Havilland did when she moved to Freedom City a few years ago was reserve a dress circle box at the Beaudrie. It was near the stage on the right side, and gave you an impressive view of the performances both onstage and off; sometimes the blonde beauty liked to turn her opera glasses towards the boxes across the way, and she was frequently more entertained by the patrons than the show itself. But tonight was something special; she had a date, and by far the most impressive one in the whole opera house! Things had been going well with Moira so far, though they were still in the first giddy months, and who knows how long it would last, since the living goddess had something of a reputation (not that Estelle would judge). For now it was still all terribly new and exciting, and the fun of coordinating outfits with another woman gave occasions like this a little extra sparkle. Plus this was the stunning redhead’s first trip to the opera, with all the pomp and glamor that came with such a special night. For her part, the blonde heroine was wearing a white sequin dress with a white shoulder wrap to keep the cool breezes off the river at bay. Her hair was in a truly impressive arrangement some three feet high, all sliver combs and diamond brooches than complimented her elaborate diamond earrings. Her white open-toed shoes had three inch heels (her preferred height) and detailed with silver sequins. As always, she wore her datalink (which also stored her protective jumpsuit) on her left wrist, decorated with a snap-on faceplate encrusted with rhinestones. The usher who lead them to their seats seemed to be having a hard time figuring out which of the ladies to stare at, though he naturally settled on Moira. “Uh, so Miss de Havilland, Miss Morley, I hope you enjoy this evening’s performance. Please let me now if I can be of any, uh, further assistance.†  “Thank you, Stephan, I’m sure we will.†As she took her seat, Estelle was giddy with excitement as she leaned forward to whisper in Moira’s ear. “This is my favorite part; the anticipation, the orchestra tuning up. Do you speak French? If not, I can give you a decent translation.â€
-
The beautiful blonde raised her eyebrows and smiled. "Well...thank you." She idly scratched the side of her nose. "To be honest, I've actually gotten a little rusty. I've only had two real dates since my hair became animated; the first was a pleasant evening with Viktor Archeville before powersuited thugs kidnapped him, and the second...well, the less said about my date with Rudy Sivana, the better." She sighed as a golden tendril floated up in front of her face. "To be honest, I think the hair really, really frightens a lot of men. And the ones it doesn't frighten, frighten me." She shuddered comically.
-
You are correct, sir!
-
The return of her powers made for one happy Grim; she shrunk down to pixie size and flew a few quick laps around the room, one time pausing outside the control room window to hold up a large sign for jack's benefit. Returning back to the rest of the group, the changeling adopted a new look, a bit of an homage to 80s excercise videos, including day-glo green tights, pink legwarmers, and an oversized off-the-shoulder T-shirt that read 'HOT FOR TEACHER'. Grim thoughtfully scratched her chin. "Hmm, this is like the exact opposite of our last session; cool! I'm intrigued to see what you come up with, cowboy."
-
Estelle smiled and nodded as she happily entered Kurt's digits into her cell. "Oh, I agree! Once a month might be good. I'm thinking of getting my own place, maybe setting up a studio. I'd love to have regular jam partners!" She tossed a goofy glance Moira's way. "One can only do so much solo playing!" :P
-
The sensation of Moira's soft skin on the ultra-sensitive fibers was nothing short of ecstasty, but Estelle did her best to compose herself; her hair, on the other hand, writhed happily at the goddess's touch, and in fact began to work its way into her red hair and trace the countours of her angelic face. "It's, ah, never been a real problem before, but I think..it's...um...please...please stop that. It's extremely pleasant, but I can barely...uh...oh blast, I can't even talk!" With tremendous effort, she reeled in all her hair, carefully disengaging it from Divine's enticing prescence and forcing in back into the braid. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Alright, I think it's fairly damn obvious I find you attractive. I've never been in any sort of relationship with another woman before, but I see nothing wrong with it. That being said, I...well, I feel a bit out of my depth, to be honest."
-
Pixie Grim grinned broadly when the masked and seriously injured thief began to laugh, but for just a second she had her doubts when he faded from view and his flunkies came pouring out of every nook and crannie. But only for a second. Fluttering her eyelashes and doing her best to look nauseatingly cute, she put her hands to face and looked pleasantly surprised. "Wow, all of you boys came out to see little ol' me? Aww, what a bunch of sweeties!" Then her tiny features became down right diabolical. "Now pucker up for a great big KISS!" There was a sudden woosh of air as the changeling smoothly shot up to full size and disappeared from sight at the same time; in a flash, her claws were out and she was ripping her way through the schmucks like a buzzsaw through a baked Alaska. It seemed like she was everywhere and nowhere at the same time as clothes shredded and unconcious bodies slumped to the pavement in the blink of an eye. The Jewish ninja princess tumbled, flipped and rolled through their ranks, spreading mayhem as she flew.
-
Okay, Grim's gonna drop the pixie shape and return to full size, activate her Concealment, and then take 10 and Power Attack at +3/-3 for a 25, and then combine Move-By and Takedown to ideally mop the floor with these guys. Let's also assume she's taking 10 on Acrobatics to move more effectively through the mooks, per Shaen's suggestion in chat.
-
Estelle smiled at Moira's reassurances. "Well, I'm glad to hear that; while I don't think of myself as a prude by any means, I felt that I- damn it, there it goes again!" As she'd started talking, a ribbon of golden hair had surreptitiously twisted itself down the length of her arm and snaked up the redhead's, where it stopped to loop around her well-toned bicep. The blonde chemist got very red in the cheeks as she gently tried to disentangle the intertwined limbs, but to no effect. "Um...I'm just going to leave that there then...for now..." Estelle raised her free hand to block the left side of her face; a much more obliging tendril raised her cup to her lips, and she took a nice long sip of Irish coffee, meekly peering over the rim to see if any other patrons had noticed her predicament (apparently they had not).
-
Estelle laughed, a surprisingly deep laugh from her belly that almost sent coffee up her nose. "God, what a disaster that was! I mean, not a complete disaster, obviously; the music was astounding, plus amazing dancing and singing. I still can't believe I didn't have a video camera set up! So unprofessional..." She shook her head and chuckled at the memory, but then she suddenly leaned forward, her tone slightly hushed. "About the auditions, I...I do apologize for being so...forward. I'm sure a young woman as beautiful as yourself has had to suffer your share of indignities, but I didn't-" Setting aside her coffee, the chemist took a deep breath and composed herself. "You are clearly a very striking woman, and since the circumstances that changed me, I sometimes find that the hair...can be willful." But then she smiled a bit nervously. "Not that I didn't like it, of course; it was wonderful. Even with everyone gaping at us, if felt...private, like the rest of the room was just noise and thunder." Estelle covered her face with her hands and groaned. "God, I don't even know what I'm saying..."
-
Once again, that exquisite tingle all the way down her spine and out to the end of every hair; a ripple passed down the length of the braid, which happily squirmed this way and that as Estelle arched her back and sat up straight. "You really need to be careful with that, Moira; not that I mind, but...sorry." The blonde heroine rose gracefully, took both the goddess's hands in her own, and then gave her a brief hug; all her instincts told her to make it last just a little longer, if only to breathe in the sweet smell of her hair for a few seconds more, but today was just coffee, and she kept it short and friendly. "I'm so glad you could come. You look magnificent, as always I'm sure." Noting the Irish coffee, she smiled and accepted the cup. "Oh, thank you! I honestly couldn't make up my mind." Returning to her seat, Gossamer crossed her long legs, took a sip and sighed contentedly. "Mmm, that's good." She closed her eyes and felt the warmth of the alcohol spread through her, as her hair uncoiled itself and draped majestically over the back of her chair.

Divine and Gossamer go for coffee :D
-
Monday, July 5th 2010. 1:58 pm Sitting out on the tree-lined patio at Garibaldi’s, a lovely Italian café in Riverside, Estelle de Havilland nervously fiddled with the sugar dispenser for the hundredth time before finally throwing her napkin on the table. “Oh, this is ridiculous.†She had put far too much thought into this ‘innocent’ cup of coffee with Moira; she’d gone through six different outfit selections before settling on one she more or less liked, which she hoped struck the proper tone for the afternoon, without having a firm grasp on what said tone in fact really was. Her hair was in a thick braid that lay coiled in her lap, where it twitched fitfully like a cat having bad dreams; from time to time, she idly stroked it. Dear God, I’ve got butterflies in my stomach; it’s like my first school dance all over again!

Green Ronin to Release DC Adventures RPG Books
Heritage replied to Dr Archeville's topic in Off-Panel
So I have the DCA book and love it to pieces, and am using it as the offical engine for the Grimalkin comic, i.e all major characters will be statted to keep things consitant. Over the course of the planned 7 year run, which covers the years 2008-2014, Grim will go from PL8 to PL14 as she moves from sidekick to hero to superhero. I've statted Grim Year One and I'm working of Grim Year Seven, and have come across a rules question, and knowing no better folks to turn to, I hope you guys can help. As part of her Morph Array, I'm giving her Allure and Terror as APs, two different Afflictions. I'm trying to create a Sense-Dependant (Visual) effect based on shapes she can adopt, but am having trouble working out the details. Any help would be appreciated, and if this should be in a seperate new thread, I am very cool with that. -
I only did it because relative to the others, Gossamer's totals are low, and I wanted her to go out on a high note :D
-
Gossamer hit the ground running, keeping low to avoid incoming fire. She heard the good doctor's voice, and could make out some sort of advanced technology nearby. Like a moth to the flame... Estelle ran to what she seriously hoped was Archeville's current position. "Hello Viktor, nice to not see you again! Watch your head!" The blonde heroine spread her hair up and out, the fibers stretching to their limit as they wove themselves into a tightly-knit shell with an almost crystalline structure, forming a golden dome some twenty feet across. "There, that should be able to stop just about anything those annoying androids send our way. Now keep you mind on your work, and we'll take care of the rest."
