  1. Faye rolled her eyes; from the sound of it, Mari had successfully dazzled the super-duper with her...wits, so Irish thief still had time to to 'port over to the Goodwin Wing and grab the big ticket item that was the primary goal of the mission: Warhol's iconic four-panel silkscreen of the Centurian in all its garish multihued glory, currently on loan from MOMA. As she lifted it off the wall with her gloved hands, for a moment she felt a chill that shook her to the core; somehow even in bright pink, orange and fuscia, that heroic far-off gaze fixed on an unseen horizon had amazing power. "'M sorry," she mumbled awkwardly, feeling oddly ashamed as she carefully lowered the painting into her own little corner of the multiverse. Once the hero's four sets of eyes were out of sight, she was tremendously relieved. "Right, so, I'm done in here, ladies; is it safe for this wee girl to join you?"
  2. Beyond awesome! I'm very happy to see on Random Guy's channel that Favreau and the guys at Marvel love these :D
  3. Yay, I love when Giz writes Vince! :D
  4. At first Grim held up her hands, shaking her head. "No, no, no, don't tell him I spoke with you, I don't think-" But then she stopped herself and put her hands on her hips. "You know what, you're right, talk to him about it; he might give me crap about it later, but I still think this is the right thing to do. He always gives me and Colt hell when we try to talk him about stuff, making fun of us for talking about our 'feelings'-" She does the air quotes, and now it looks like it's turned into a full-blown rant, complete with sharp, angry hand gestures. "And I'm sick and tired of his superior 'I'm more dedicated to protecting this community than thou' attitude; y'know, I may not have grown up here, or bleed West End pride when I'm cut, but I'm out there busting my ass, too, Jackie Boy! Just because I don't eat, sleep and crap 'street justice' like some people doesn't mean I don't care! And waiting a few minutes until you have a plan is not sitting on our hands, Jack!" Suddenly the tiny shapeshifter stopped dead, like she'd been hit in the face with a plank; her face was bright red and she was visibly shaking. "Omigod, I'm sorry, Jill, that all just came out! Seriously, your brother's awesome like 99% of the time!"
  5. Okay, much better, but knowing this little putz, he'll laugh it off anyway Untrained Intimidate reroll: 1d20+3=23
  6. Do Darius and Geez know they're involved in this thread? Maybe we should PM them.
  7. Gossamer can't make a DC 26 Sense Motive check, and she gets a 19 on her Notice; everything looks fine here!
  8. In a flash, Grim had leaped up on the table and flicked out her claws in a low crouch, eyes wide and teeth slightly bared. "Goddamn it, this it not cool, man!" She just managed to stop herself from blurting out 'Jack', which was another good reason to avoid hanging out much with Avenger. Then a thought crossed her mind, and she looked even more pissed. "Wait, you're not even gonna tell us who you're spying on us for...or how long you've been here? No, nothing awkward about that, 'Venger!" The tiny shapeshifter stood up on the table, and suddenly a sinister black vapor seeped out of her skin as her eyes went from dark brown to burning crimson as she crossed her arms tightly across her chest. "Get the **** out of here, V; you're not welcome here today."
  9. Grim has semi-unintentionally activated her Emotion Control (Fear), but I think everyone in the room might be immune :(
  10. Grim went pink again, rubbing the back of her neck self-consciously; wow, Jack really did comparmentalize his life, didn't he? Maybe it was just easier to tell Jill nothing then to try and figure out what information was or was not safe. And now she felt like a complete idiot; was she overreacting to this whole thing? Well she'd already dragged the poor girl all the way over here, so she might as well trudge onward. The shapeshifter took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "It's not just that we're arguing, Jill, it's the...venomous tone of it that has me concerned. Look, I know your brother would never hurt me for real, but if you saw the look in his eyes, the coldness of it..." She hopped back up on her stool, shaking her head. "Maybe your right, maybe I am blowing this way out of proportion. I mean, people are gonna disagree from time to time, I know that, but it seems like it's all the time lately, and the intensity of it is just, well, it's frickin' scary. And it never used to be scary." :(
  11. Intimidate check: 1d20+3=15 Can I blow an HP on a reroll? Gossamer really can't stand this guy, especially now that his reasons for the good Doctor's abduction are so frickin' petty, and I think her intense hatred of him would help a lot on the check. Also, let me know if that tirade of her's seems too out of line :D
  12. At this point, Gossamer's smooth patrician facade finally shatters into a million tiny pieces as her eyes go wide and her nostrils flare, and she starts to shake the living crap out of the arrogant little thief, flipping him around the room every which, stopping just short of slapping him against the walls. Just short. "I have had it with you! Do you see the position you're in right now? You don't get to negotiate, you pathetic little weasel, because you've lost! You are a loser! You've risked countless lives and caused thousands of dollars worth of property damage because you're an immature little baby who likes to play with toys!" At last, Estelle found herself panting like thoroughbred as she pulled the man in close, the veins in her temples noticibly throbbing as she glared at him with eyes like death. "Tell me how to fix him now, or you will be eating through a straw for the next three years!"
  13. I'm gonna go with her strongest skill. Knowledge (Physical Sciences) check: 1d20+12=31 Nice, but does it get her anything useful?
  14. Okay, I have to admit, I'm kind of stumped what to do next. Should I just have RQ finishing looting the room she's in and 'port out to join the others?
  15. Should I have Gossamer make any kind of 'brainy gal' rolls before I have her look at the monitors?
  16. I am fine with closing it here and leaving the door open for a sequel thread 8-)
  17. Estelle smiled and rolled her eyes at the German ubergenius and his theatrical flair; she genuinely liked him, but sometimes his personality got to be a bit overwhelming. And then at the other end of male spectrum, apparently teenagers still loved to hit on her. "Well, hello to you as well! I'm Dr Estelle de Havilland, but in this circle I'm usually just called Gossamer." For a moment she's distracted by the sickening sound of snapping bones, and it's then that she finally picks out Dead head's particular stench from the rest of the arena's many smells. That's an animated corpse over there...and one of my former students is viciously attacking it. She blanches for a moment, then does her best to recover as she turns back to Dynamo. "Forgive me, I was just...zombies!" She laughed a bit too loudly as she fanned herself with a golden wing of hair. "Uh, is there, uh, anywhere to get a diet Pepsi around here?"
  18. Oh jeez, am I up now? I was distracted by Marionette's 'bewbies', too. ;)
  19. Gossamer frowned with concentration as she carefully ripped apart the suit's flight system, making sure not to tear off any of the criminal's fleshy bits but otherwise not overly concerned for his physical comfort. When she was confidant she'd clipped his wings, she held him upside down over Doc's blank-eyed form. "Now, how do we fix him?"
  20. Who's up in this one? :-?
  21. Somehow Grim did not see this coming, though again in retrospect it made perfect sense from Jill's perspective; she just sat there on her stool, lip curled and one eyebrow raised as the thought of her and Jack bumpin' uglies spooled through her brain. It was kinda horrifying, actually; true, when the team all first met, she'd noted the man's obvious hotness, but over time he'd really become more of an older brother to her, so the whole thing had a kind of creepy Greg and Marsha feel to it. At last she found the words to voice her feelings. "Eww, no way! God, no no no!" She covered her ears and shut her eyes tightly. "Make the bad thoughts go away, Mommy!" She hopped off the stool and started marching around in random circles, arms wrapped tightly around her chest, narrowly avoiding Jill's own movements. Then she stopped, took a deep breath, and held her hands up in a warding gesture. "Look, things between me and Colt are great; there's nothing funny going on, and this team is not a crazy bed-hopping T&A flick from the 80s. And you're right, that hot Ruskie girl was much more his type, but sadly she bailed on us, so all my matchmaking plans went right out the window. No, things are all good-" Unbidden, the memory of that kiss hit her out of the blue, and her cheeks and the tips of her ears went bright pink; when she spoke again, she sounded slightly out of breath. "Sorry! Things are fine on that front here in the Brownstone; me and Jack...nothing."
  22. Sweet! So just do an IC post where she casually rips his flight apparatus apart as she speaks to him in level, menacing voice?
  23. Okay, so let's have her target Flight, so he can't get away; what do I need to roll?
  24. I want Gossamer to basically take his gear apart piece by piece, using either brute force or possibly her hair as Improvsed Tool, though I'm not quite sure which. I see two problems with this. 1. Exactly what mechanic would be involved? Would it be Disable Device, straight-up Strength check or what? 2. Since she used all her hair in the grapple, how would that effect it if she peeled some hair free to manipulate stuff?
