  1. Before there was even time her eyes to widenn in shock and fear, Gossamer hair was in motion, slidding effortlessly off of the inert genius and coiling around her body and limbs in a protective cocoon, leaving one shorter tendril free for possible offense.
  2. Gossamer is recreating the FF 8/ PH 2 combo again. Well she made one of them; huzzah!
  3. Grim happily accepted the kiss, but raised an eyebrow at some of her boyfriend's suggestions. "Swimming; you want to go swimming...in December." She reached a hand up and gently knocked Colt a few times on the forehead with her knuckles. "Is everything okay up there, or do they not have hypothermia in your dimension? I could probably do it, what with me no longer being human and all, but you would freeze to death." She poked him in the chest a few times. "Bad. Idea. For starters, how am I gonna fly your bike back home? A hike, on the other hand, sounds awesome." Cramming the last of the gear into the chest, she hopped up on it, crossed her legs and sighed with satisfaction of a job well done. "There, now were all set!"
  4. To go all TV Tropey, she's kind of the Badass Bookwork/Cultured Badass type, with a touch of Fallen Princess (her father and three of her siblings disowned her). She didn't ask for her powers and was reluctant about going into full-on hero mode, but I really want her to live up to her full potential. She's only met a handful of heroes who are still active here, most prominently Doc A and briefy Wesley and Atlas. I think she needs a thread that thrusts her into the world of heroism, where she gets to see she's actually good at it, and accepts the mantle, as it were. I also think she needs to meet Ace, because she's a classy broad.
  5. Ok, I seriously need to get Gossamer into more threads, since she's still only in the one she was in before I shelved her for a while. I know Ecal, Sand and I have talked about starting a team with Arrowhawk, Wesley and Goss, but until that comes together I want to have the girl do something. Anyone up for some mischief?
  6. I'd be interested in this for Gossamer :)
  7. The changeling tucked her phone into the crook of her shoulder and made a paddleball for her own amusement, its steady 'whap whap whap' audible in the background. "I think it went good; she almost shot me, which kinda broke the ice, y'know, had a few laughs. I told her about Jack, and she said she'd like to meet him, run a few magical tests and whatnot, but she said it would take a day of prep. She seemed pretty flexible on place and time." She untucked her phone and worked her neck a bit before continuing. "So you guys want any company, or are you all boys' nighting it?"
  8. Oh thank you, o wise and beneficent one! After this thread, it shouldn't be a problem in the future, with the old QC.
  9. Figured we can set it up IC; let me know if this is cool.
  10. After her visit to meet with the detective, Grim placed a call to Colt while perched on top of the 13th precinct, watching the comings and goings of the patrol cars. "Hi honey, whatcha guys up to?"
  11. We could all go over to Colby's home/studio/ritual space in West End, to help with the identity maintaining; does that sound good?
  12. Hmm. Without her suit (she didn't have Quick Change until after this thread, in fact it's why she took it!) her Toughness save is +4, which means she may well fail all of them; does she have time to power stunt some sort of shield or protective barrier? :(
  13. Grim'll show; I'll assume Back to School won't end with her horribe death at the hands of Claremont students
  14. Grim snorted as she packed up the trash into a bag, wagging a finger in the air. "Hey, I will give you 'ain't' as a contribution of cowboy culture, but you keep your steer-roping hands of my 'whaddaya'; that is pure South Jersey all the way. You are, in fact, confusing it with the cowboy 'whutcha', a common mistake." After stuffing away all the trash, she turned and made the cedar chest she'd mentioned earlier; carved on the hinged lid appears a traditional scene of cowboys and Jersey gangsta wannabes, riding off into the sunset together. She lifted the ld an started loading it up with their gear. "So, tomorrow; what's the game plan, kemosabe?'
  15. The sight of the Jack of Clubs made the young shapeshifter groan, any pretense of a poker face long gone. "Alright, I'm out; you gents have fun." She downed the last of her drink, then got up to fix a new one, sans alcohol; as she poured herself a Sprite, she hummed a bit before observing, "Guys, if we do this again, we need some serious tunes; the silence is deafening."
  16. Hopefully this restored version will come out on DVD soon; Lang is one of the greats!
  17. Actually I'm pretty sure Colt dealt the current hand, based on this post.
  18. Lynn got very excited when she saw Taylor's classic monster movies. "Oh, those are good ones! You should watch the Hammer ones, too, sometime; Christopher Lee is an awesome Dracula. Here, open mine next!" She then practically shoved her lightweight flat box into the birthday girl's hands; from the look and feel of it, it was probably clothing of some kind.
  19. Hi guys! I'm thinking Grim would take Jack and maybe Colt to see Colby the day after this, so she can have time to do some artificing, maybe whipping up and item that lets her see various extradimensional energies or something. I'm thinking of keeping WCotN open as a solo thred, to explore the developing friendship between the two characters, so maybe we should do a fresh thread set the day after these events. BTW, very entertaining barfight! :D
  20. After a delightful fireside make-out session (with some nice conjured blankets), at last Grim sighed and turned her head towards the rest of their gear. "Well, as much as I hate to say it, that stuff ain't unpacking itself; whaddya say we tidy up and move this party indoors, loverboy? Or we can still hang by the fire, I guess; I'm fine either way, as long as this crap is all squared away first." One of the many good things about her resistance to cold was that Grim could pretty much climb right out of bed in the morning, without the usual stalling or grumbling about how chilly it was. She'd grumble if she was still sleepy and not ready to wake up, but the mad dash from bed to the shower was replaced by a leisurely stroll. And so Grim easily slipped out from under the blankets and started tidying up their dinner, humming 'Turn Me Loose' as she did a goofy little 80s-style dance.
  21. At the mention of cars, Lenya noticibly perked up, looking from face to face. "You are driving now? Which of you has car? After classes, we must go to nearest mall, if only for window shopping." How long do you honestly think you can keep this up, little lady? And was a Russian really the smartest choice? I'm thinking no.
  22. The armor effect was nice in theory, but using so much of her hair for defense left Estelle very little for offense, and right now the good doctor's safety overshadowed her own. In a flash, the golden fibers furled, and a thick tentacle snaked across the biergarden, shooting past several increasingly frightened customers, and wrapped itself around the unconscious uber-genius, yanking him back to her side. "The nerve of some people! We haven't even received our entrees yet, and you're running off with my date!"
  23. To be honest, I'm totally turned around, since I think we've all screwed up the betting order at least once. Sometimes Grim bets after Colt shows the cards, then Atlas, and sometimes Atlas goes first and then Grim.
