Okay, I have no idea how to this respond to this; am I doing a Notice check, and if so, what are my options after that? I can't just hit him, that would be boring.

The petite brunette merely shrugs...and then pushes all her chips in. Her face is a beautiful, unreadable porcelain mask.

OOC thread for Grim and Colt's camping trip in Wharton State Forest.
-
Godfrey Bridge Camping Area, Wharton State Forest Colt's motorcycle crunched over the pristine white snow as they slowly pulled up to their campsite; Grim, holding on behind him, peered down at the site marker. "Yep, this is it, spot 39." She hopped off the back of the bike and looked around, hands on hips; she was wearing a dark blue parka, jeans tucked into hiking boots, and sported a festive Alpaca hat, tied under her chin. Even though it had gotten warmed over the course of the week, there was still a good bit of snow on the ground. "Wow, this is so pretty! I've been here before, but never in the wintertime. I love it!" She does a little spin, then heads back to the bike to start unloading the panniers. "It's not too cold, is it? I really can't tell, so you gotta let me know if it's ever too cold, alright?"
-
Someone in the chat suggested making this device Grim describes an actual plot device, and giving anyone who tries to read her mind an HP for the blocked attempt. I forget who, one of the cool ones.
-
Undisclosed Location Grim quickly scans the files, all business as she tries to quickly absorb the information; she nods to herself frequently as she speaks. "Okay, we can do this two ways: I go in invisibly, snoop around and whatnot, or I can go in as a student and get to know 'em. Personally, I think number two is the better option, especially since number one pits me against a whole school of supers and security systems." Suddenly her whole body stiffens, and she holds up her hand like she's already in class. "Whoa, hold up; this girl is an uber-psychic and way smart. She will detect me, in either scenario." She gives Doc an appraising look. "But then again, you're super-smart, too; can you rig up a thingamabob that not only blocks psychic powers, but makes it look innate, like it's part of my own power set? Otherwise, this girl is on to me, and the mission is scrubbed."

Initiative 1d20+12 = 21 Grim is also blindfolded and Jack goes first; this is gonna be so much fun! And I agree, Jack should get an HP for balls and showmanship :D
-
Well if he wants to kill me with laughter, this fight is already over. Whatever happens tonight, this is gonna be good. When he pulls the blindfold gag, Grim just completely loses it; her laughter is good-natured, and in no way mocking of her teammate. "'Tis better to be Fortune's fool than to play the fool to fool the fooler, good Sir Knight!" With a flourish of her hand, the eyeholes of her mask shrink down to nothing, and the crowd cheers again. "Okay, I have no idea what I just said, but I'm blind now too, so this fight is gonna be awesome!" The young shapeshifter drops into her fighting stance, cocking her head this way and that as she begins to circle her foe.
-
Grim wrinkles up her nose and laughs. "From what I hear, everything is big in Mother Russia." She takes another peek at her cards, then picks up a few chips and starts slowly stroking them across her lips, seemingly deep in thought. The beautiful shapeshifter gives Colt a playful wink, then carefully stacks five dollars in the pot, one chip at a time.
-
Grim smiled, then frowned in mock outrage. "Hey, what's with this 'peck on the cheek' crap?" She jumps up, wrapping her legs around Colt's back and plants a big wet one on him, which needless to say drives the crowd nuts. At long last, she lets the cowboy breathe, doing a backflip off his chest and then bounding her way up to the ring. By the time she gets there, she's wearing full boxing kit, including a midnight blue sports bra, with matching shorts, gloves and shoes. She bobs and weaves around the ring, throwing in a few flips and tumbles for the crowd's ammusement. In fact, Grim was apparently the one hero unsure of her chances of dropping Jack; she'd never sparred with him before, and the guy was fast and smart, so she didn't want to assume anything. She waits for her oppenent to join her...
-
Tired and holding a lousy hand, Grim considers folding, but then decides to try for one last hurrah. She goes into a lazy stretch, and activates what she likes to call 'Big Eyes'. "Mmm, next time we oughta go in for strip poker; I, for one, wanna see if Atlas has little hammers and sickles on his boxers." She flashes Atlas a saucy wink and tosses a few chips on the table.
-
Grim goes in for a low blow, and activates her Enhanced Charisma, taking her up to Cha 30, which I believe gives her 35 on her Bluff check if she takes 10. Nothing overtly physical happens, it's actually a fairly subtle combination of movement, gestures and slight physical augmentation. By the way, 'Big Eyes' is Grim's joking reference to those cheesy paintings of puppy dogs with giant eyes, so get your mind out of the gutter, you! ;)
-
Grim nods her head sagely as she has a peek at her pocket cards (meh). "The cowboy does have a point, Atlas; you shouldn't startle a guy who carries guns for a living." She has another sip of her drink, then tilts her head back and balances the glass on her forehead, ice cubes gently tinkling. "So, do we wanna do this again next month? Do we consider this to be a success?"
-
Undisclosed Location Grimalkin narrows her eyes and cocks an eyebrow. "Okay, you do realize how incredibly creepy that sounds, right?" She shakes her head dismissively. "Whatever, be as creepy as you want, I don't really care." The blocks wink out of existance, little trails of mist rising from the tabletop as the shapeshipter steeples her fingers and leans back in her chair. "So, what can I do for ya, bossman?"

Lynn's face crumples a bit. "Uh, I hate to be a pain, Kim, but I kinda try to keep kosher. Can I trust you to order me some awesome stuff with no eel or shellfish?" She places her hand over her heart and crosses her fingers. "I swear I will be as sweet as sunshine, and eat whatever you bring me. And also order oodles more drinks."
-
The smacking sounds in the seemingly-empty coat room pause for a second. "Oh darn it, we missed the bouquet toss." There is a soft sigh of resignation as the coats rustle by themselves. "Oh well! Wait, where'd your lips go?"

When Ace's left hook popped Colt square in the jaw, Grim felt in in her gut, knocking the wind out of her as though she took the hit herself. No matter how jaded a crimefighter you are, seeing your teammate and lover go down, even in a friendly match, hurts like hell. In a flash, she's ringside, eyes damp and full of concern; despite herself, Grim wants to leap onto Ace and kick the snot out of him, charity be damned. But then he's standing there, with a wink and a smile, and all is forgiven as the anger drains away leaving only concern for the man she loves. "Thank you. Good match, Ace." She gives the rugged adventurer a quick peck on the cheek and absentmindedly rubs his arm before crouching down beside Colt; a member of the ring hands her a water bottle, and she squirts a stream of cold water over the cowboy's unconscious face as she whispers in his ear over the roar of the crowd. "Hey, big guy. Hey there. Come back to me, okay? I'm right here waitin' for ya. I'm right here. C'mon back to me..."
-
Undisclosed Location Grim craned her head around, trying to place the source of the voice, even though it was probably pointless; after all, Doc was the best there was at the mad science thing. "Uh, I'll take a diet 7Up, if you have one. No ice." She shrugs. "No rush, I have my little Grimalkin playset thing here to keep me company." crash "Noooooooooo! All those years of planning!" :)

Okay, slight change of plans in regards to Grim's last edit. Rather than spending 4 ppt on boosting her Fort and Will saves up to 10, I would rather spend those 4 points on buying 2 ranks of Morph outside her Glamour; Shaen suggested this in the chat, but I foolishly ignored the suggestion Saves will go up come February. Lynn knew she wasn't quite the heavy hitter Moira was in the charm department, but only an idiot doesn't flirt with a cute waiter. She flashes him a sassy grin and playfully fans herself with the laminated drink menu. "Hi Kim! I'll have a Raspberry Champagne Cocktail, 'cause that sounds freakin' tasty." She digs into her jeans for her wallet, and flashes her driver's license (the real one). "Anyone else joining me? No pressure or anything."
-
Okay, a quick question about Grim's last character edit, namely is it too late to make a change that would impact this thread? Most of Grim's powers don't work if she's using Morph for Disguise, but Shaen suggested I might give her a few ranks of Morph 'on the side', which can either stack with her Glamour or allow her to use her other Array powers whilst incognito (just with a less scary skill bonus). So can I use my 4pp for 2 ranks of Morph instead of boostimng her saves, and just do that next month? If not, Grim will just have to be more of a skill-and-feat based student, I guess. Either way, I'll get by and make the best of it (shrug).

Hey, we can still go back to the party afterwards; this is just a makeout session, and it's not like Grim's has to worry about her makeup smearing.

Okay, starting this thread after discussing some things in the chat with Durf. IC OOC Personally, I'm pretty much fine with any Claremeont students showing up.
