Lynn shakes her head. "No, you're square, I'm super-cool." She laughs at her own stupid joke, shaking her head. "Yeah, we're as good as we're gonna get for now, but it'll get better. Give me some time, y'know?" She walks over to Taylor and smiles wryly. "See, no one killed anybody, and we can still hang out; I'll just make snotty comments now and then, becuase I probably won't be able to help myself." She claps her hands together. "Okay, awkward group hug time, let's do it."

If I get as many pp as I think I might this month (I posted way more than I thought I had), I might go with this version, based of Glamour 7: Alternate Power: Flight 2 (25mph, Drawbacks: Power Loss [Wings]) + Shrinking 8 (Tiny, Feats: Normal Movement, Normal Strength, Normal Toughness)

Lynn, a die-hard Disney fan, visibly perked up when Ace started his song and softly sang along in a pleasant untrained voice. When he finished, she appluaded enthusiasticlly. "Taylor, you should sing something by Blondie, I think it would suit your voice. Me, I have to get a little lit first." She orders a rum and Coke, of course having to flash her ID, as she no doubt would have to for years without using her powers. Once she has her drink, she returns to the group, gnawing on the little plastic straw. "I'm still trying to pick my first song. I might go with something by Queen, but not "Bohemian Rhapsody"; I mean, I love it, but it's a bit overplayed, y'know? Maybe something by Heart..."

Just so folks know, me and QMB did a 'fade to black' on the kissing booth (for humorous and not sexual reasons!), so we might not be posting in this thread again. Is anyone else still working on stuff here?

Taken the bait and edited my post like five times :P

Grim nods and looks relieved. “Ok, so sounds like cats are not a problem, which is good; I’ll pick up Mafia, DB and Plaque Attack from my friend’s place tomorrow. As far as the guns go…†She sighs deeply. “I’ll admit, I’m not a huge fan of guns, but that’s mostly because I don’t like them being pointed at me. I trust you guys know what you’re doing and will use them responsibly.†She crosses her fingers and smiles. “As far as how we use our powers, skills and equipment, I would personally love to go more proactive, even though I know that’s sometimes hard for us good guys.†The young shapeshifter leans forward as she warms to her topic. “At least some focus on community education and involvement would great, but I would love to continue a project me and my old partner Nightrival started last year: infiltrating the Mob here in Freedom City. I established two aliases last year, though one of them might not be so useful since that job went south, but the other one should be solid.†She stops to include the rest of the room with a sweep of her hand. “Of course, I wouldn’t jump back into that project without the approval of the rest of the team; loose cannons are bad for everyone.â€Â

Grim runs a very close second, with a DC 25 on her mastered SoH :D
-
Grim sticks an Utz pretzel rod in the corner of her mouth like a fine Cuban and grins. “Not bad, Colt. My great-grandfather was a stage magician, ‘the Amazing Al-Kazar’; he specialized in close-up magic involving scarves, swords and cards." She shrugs. "Grampa Lou sometimes acted as his assistant, and he taught me a few tricks when I was little.†She splits the deck in two, then forms two perfect fans with each half of the deck, which she then neatly folds together. “Should I deal first, or would one of you gentlemen like to start? I assume we’re playing Texas hold ‘em?â€Â
-
Grim flashes a smile at the newcomer, and holds up a hand in greeting. "Hi Atlas! Well, we’ve got four players, so I guess we can start, if people want to.†She looks up at her green visor and frowns. “This thing is getting on my nerves; hold on a sec.†She blows upward, as though to get stray hair out of her eyes, and the visor dissolves into vapor. “Much better!†She takes a seat, has a nice swig of beer, and then starts expertly shuffling the cards; from the look of it, she knows her way around a deck. “I’m better at card tricks than card games, so don’t let this little display fool you.†;)

I might add Normal Movement and Normal Stength if I get Glamour up to 7 someday.
-
I'm still gonna do it, but it's gonna be a lot different than her old Pixie build who was insanely fast. Oh well, Flight is Flight; I can always increase it if I pump more into Glamour later.
-
Oh man! It is very hard to build Tinker Bell on the cheap! :(
-
Ok, so if I drop Flight down to 2, that would be 4pp, -1 for the power loss, correct? That should bring me down to 12pp total.
-
Gossamer's now a Tier 2, so I personally am done with it :)
-
If I bump Grim’s Glamour up to 6 for 2 pp, I should be able to add the following AP for another pp, right? Or is my math way off? I’m doing the vignette and finishing my survey, and hoping to get 4 pp for October, so I can do this and get my Equipment for the Interceptors. Alternate Power: Flight 3 (50mph, Drawbacks: Power Loss [Wings]) + Shrinking 8 (Tiny, Feats: Normal Toughness) [12PP]

Hey gang! I have wanted to do something Halloweeny for Grim (not including the vignette), and wondered if people would like to run a combination Halloween/housewarming party at the HQ? I don't know about guest list issues, though Grim may well want to invite an ex-Knight or two.
-
Hooray! Wait a minute...:? Boo! :x
-
Grim smiles as she removes her visor, mops her brow with the back of her hand, and takes the offered beer. "Hey, thanks." Extending a long curved talon from her thumb, she easily flips off the top and takes a swig. "Mmm, that's the good stuff! Glad you could make it!" She shakes the big spender's hand and grins. "Hi, River Rat, I'm Grimalkin, or just 'Grim'. Welcome to the game." Noting River Rat's cigarette (and Colt's lack of same), Grim reached into her bag and pulled out a battery-powered smokeless ashtray. "Um, I know guys like to smoke while they play cards; heck, I used to smoke myself before I got my powers and stuff. But as Colt knows, I have a very acute sense of smell; I don't want to be all girly-girl, but can we try using this?" She switches on the ashtray and places it between the two men, where it hums softly. She smiles at Colt. "If this works out, you can light up, too." Somewhat concerned by the new arrivals money clip and mention of high stakes, Grim becomes a bit concerned, and holds up her hands. "Hey now, this is a friendly game, boys and girls. I am not the best poker player in the world; I think I'm somewhere down near the bottom, to be honest." She holds up a colorful cheat sheet you printed off the internet. "In fact, I've still got on my training wheels. If we can start slow, I would seriously appreaciate it." She stops herself and puts her hands on her hips as she shakes her head, chuckling to herself. "I'm sorry, this must be your guys idea of hell; a bossy chick ruining poker night by telling you not to smoke your stinky cigars and only do girly-girl nickel bets."
-
Many thanks, kind sir! The one thing I don't see which needs to be added is her one unspent pp from September Oh, I suppose I could...
-
Okay, so it looks like our first poker night will have to be on Saturday, October 17, since Grim and Colt first met at the carnival on the 16th and joined the Interceptors on the 18th. Does that night work for everybody? We can always change to a different day of the week for future games.

"Well, It's A Marvelous Night For A Moondance" (IC)
Heritage replied to Heritage's topic in Lantern Hill
Lynn nodded firmly. "Gotcha, zip it." She made the 'zip it and lose the key' motion as she stepped into postion, then as an afterthought shifted her clothes again, going for a sort of vaguely Maid Marian look in pale blue, but keeping the hooded cloak. I really overdo the whole clothing bit sometimes  -
Grim screwed up the last of her courage and cleared her throat as she stepped closer to the gate. "Uh, sir? This might be the dumbest question you've ever heard, but have you had any vampire problems recently? And if you are a vampire, uh...prepare for battle! Or something." She sniffed the air and peered into the darkness, trying to suss out more about their accoster.
-
She shrugs and smiles. "I've been okay; my whole world's exploded and my mind's been blown, but I'm pickin' up the pieces. It's starting to look like my life again." Lynn smiles a very complex smile, with hints of sadness, affection and ironic detachment. "Hello, Jack. Nice work on the song; I wanna to see what you do with Bon Jovi." The tiny heroine turns to Stesha. "What Derrick means is I like kicking butt, but he's too darn polite to say that; I'm not really good at anything else. And speaking of which-" She turns to Ace and holds out her arms dramatically as she goes fo her best Pavaroti imitation. "Sing!"
-
Lynn shakes her head and smiles. "You're right, the details of your relationship are none of my business, and I hope you guys are happy together; heck, I actually like you, Jack." Then she becomes very serious indeed. "But your feeding? Well, that's a public health issue, Jack. The way I see it, you're a junkie who's addicted to people; sure, you provide a valuable public service in return, but that just means you're a mosquito who leaves a tip. You're still a parasite, Jack." She turns and takes a few steps, gesturing as she speaks. "I'm sure you both think I'm being an unreasonable, self-righteous bitch, and you're right, I am. Guily as charged." The young shapeshifter spins on her heel to face them once more. "But you have to look at this from my persepctive; among my people, blood is sacred. When we slaughter a cow, we drain it completely of blood, as it's stated in Leviticus: 'And any man of the House of Israel or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who eats any blood, I will set My attention upon the soul who eats the blood, and I will cut him off from among his people.'" She shrugs. "Now I'm fairly sure you're not a Jew, so I'm not condemning you on those grounds, but I am saying that you are depriving people of their life essence, and I have a serious problem with that. However, if you're not killing them, if you leave them breathing, then I can try, for Taylor's sake, to imagine you giving them cookies and orange juice when you're done, and giving them cab fare to get them home safe, and a little sticker to wear that says 'Be Nice To Me, I Gave Blood To Jack.'" Her lips press into a thin line "And I can see you avoiding the anemic, and the pregnant and the people who are sick or on blood thinners. I can see this all in my my head, and I can see you and Taylor being happy together, and I can force a smile, and in time, that may even be a real one. But it's not going to be easy." She sighs and looks down at her small sneakered feet. "I'll be honest, that sounds like a lot of work to me, Jack; I don't see us palling around a lot or doing shots, but maybe I'm wrong, maybe we can work this out." She shrugs again, jams her hands into her jacket pockets and looks out to sea. "That's it, I'm done; I've run out of bitchy things to say."
-
Grim flicked her wrist, and an old-fashioned wooden chair appeared; dropping down into, she tipped back her hat and grinned. "I only have three basic needs in life: food, shelter and kicking ass. If I can quit my day job and do what I love full-time, you better believe I'm in; all my worldly possesions are in a duffel bag upstairs." Suddenly she leaned forward and looked very serious. "Uh, quick question; what is the team policy on pets, specifically cats? I have three staying with a friend right now, so if there are any allergies or anything, I need to find them a good home ASAP."
