  1. Lynn just sort of stands there, at a rare loss for words, then looks off across the water, flexing and unflexing her hands. Finally she takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. "Uh, to be honest I'm kinda horrified, too. I mean, I try not to judge; I've done some nasty things in my time, too, but this..." She chews on her lip for a few seconds, then gives Taylor a very serious look. "Are there more of them? Like a lot? Are there...things stalking our streets? I mean, how...how does he do it? Like, does he just feed on the bad guys, or does he..." The young woman's face goes sour as she places a pale hand on her stomach and takes a few random steps along the rocky shore. "Oh god, I feel sick. This is not settling well with me."
  2. Ooh, I was real interested in this team for a bit, but sadly the international agency-sanctioned part would drive away Grim, if only because she once killed a guy and has never revealed this to the authorities. Given her aversion to anything that smells even remotely of law enforcement, t would take a lot of convincing to get her to sign on :(
  3. Grim laughed and shook her head. "Sorry, apparently I'm like twelve. I'm good, how 'bout you?" Here she held up a slender finger. "Oh contraire, mein freund! I have a hot tip...or maybe just a lukewarm tip; I dunno, this source is new. But anyway-" She jumped to her feet and grabbed the teen hero's shoulders. "How would you like to join me...on a trip to the graveyard?" The young faeling grinned like an idiot as her skin slowly turned pale white and she sprouted cute little anime fangs. "C'mon, 'tis the season to be spooky! Ghosts, goblins and ghouls, all that cool Castlevania stuff! It'll be awesome, as long as we don't die horribly!"
  4. Monday nights tended to be a drag; most of the bad guys were hung over from the weekend, and the vibe was almost mellow. Normally Grimalkin used Monday nights as an excuse to explore the city and get in a little cardio, but this time she actually had a mission of sorts, or at least she did if her tip was any good, and it brought her up to Lantern Hill, still largely unknown territory to her. Hark, a peevish teenaged voice upon the wind! And something else as well; Grim sniffed a few times and grinned evilly. This time I'll be nice, and avoid the ears. Invisible as thought, Grim easily scaled the building and crept up behind the likable sound manipulator. At least, that's what she thought he did; she actually got knocked out of the fight kinda early the last time they met. She perched on the roof right next to him, and then suddenly dropped her glamour. "Man, Monday nights are Dullsville, huh?"
  5. Lynn stopped her rocking and looked up at Taylor in disbelief. "Oh my God." She slowly rose to her feet until she was facing the other girl, eyes wide. "So Avenger...Jack...really is a vampire? That part was real? Whoa, that is..." She stops and turns slowly on her heel. "Are you guys...you said you left together..."
  6. I think some combination of #1, #2 and #4 might work best. Grim gets a tip of some sort, and she's flipping through her phone, looking for a good team-up buddy, and sees Breakdown's name; she calls him, they meet in Lantern Hill, and then encounter Dead Head. How's that sound, other than vague as hell? ;)
  7. Let me know how that strikes you, Sand :)
  8. It was a good night, one they both would remember for some time; Wesley amused by her effervescent giddiness, and Lynn quite taken by his unflappable charm. They would both think back upon it fondly, during times both good and bad, and draw comfort from the warmth they felt that night, a night when young love felt very real and within reach, like a butterly fluttering at your fingertips. And for a few sweet hours, their hearts danced.
  9. Lynn laughs ruefully. "Wow, what don't I want to know? Who was there, was there like this big argument...and on a selfish note, was I mentioned? I mean, if I had any idea how important the meeting was gonna be, I wouldn't have blown it off; I dunno, maybe I could have helped somehow. But I was still so freaked out over the whole Wesley thing-" She stops suddenly and grabs Taylor's arm. "Ohmigod, was Wesley there? Is he okay? I just-" And just as suddenly she drops to a crouch, arms wrapped around her legs, and starts rocking back and forth. "Oh god, I'm such a horrible person! We were this awesome crimefighting team, and now it's gone, and all I think about is the guy I dumped!"
  10. Lynn nods and smiles. "Yeah, I like it, it looks good on you." The shapeshifter snorts. "Dude, it took me forever to get out here; three buses and a half hour walk! The pixie stuff is a bit harder now since my little 'metamorphosis' last month." She hold up her hands in a display of innocence. "No dimension hopping or anything, so you don't have to cuff me, but I might wanna catch a lift back, if that's cool." Lynn chuckles ruefully, but then her face darkens. "Look, I wasn't there when all this crap went down; I got a lot of weird messages from Elena, but none of it made sense. All I know for sure is that the Knights are dead, and I really don't know why." She squints at the Asian girl. "So I was kinda hoping you could clear a few things up for me."
  11. One thought I had is there's a auto mechanic Grim knows from back in the day on the Southside; we could play in his shop after hours, but we need MBCE's approval.
  12. Lynn nodded as she skipped one more stone. "It's my first time, believe it or not; never went any farther than Ocean Heights when we used to come visit Grampa and Gramma." The young woman turns to her (former?) teammate and sighs. "Look, I'm sorry to drag you all the way out here; I was just kinda...tired of all the masks and crap. Do you get cold like that? I forget how your powers work."
  13. Aw, we'll miss you, bud! :(
  14. This is a thread about Phantom and Grim discussing the collapse of the Knights; BTW, I think this marks the debut of PL11 Grim, a very different beastie. In case it's unclear, Grim has called Phantom to meet her out here.
  15. Lynn stood on the rocky shore, expertly skipping stones across the icy waters of the Atlantic; it's was a dreary afternoon in early October, gray sky hanging heavy over the gray ocean. She hadn't bothered to wear her costume, since the one clear thing she got out of the confusing cascade of thoughts Scarab broadcast last month was everyone's secret was out. Oh yeah, and the Knights were gone. She got that, too. In her New Jersey Devils hoodie, green fatigue jacket and scuffed jeans, she was just another girl on the desolate beach, having a crappy day.
  16. I am correct in reading Grim as unconscious? Curse my long absence! :D
  17. So are playing some place secret, a more-or-less public place, or at some guy's house, and in what part of town?
  18. Grimalkin Getting the Goods "Well, It's A Marvelous Night For A Moondance" Trickster's Game Gossamer Back to Basics "When They Hear Oom Pah Pah!" Team Science! The Visit
  19. I will finish this tonight, if possible.
  20. I'd be down with this; Grim is gonna be a total post whore for the rest of October :o
  21. So are we just gonna sort of handwave how we all found out about this, and just show up at the designated place and time? "Word on the street was that we had some heroes looking to lose some money, thought I'd show up." I think Grim is looking for some superhero buddies to hang out with since her break-up with Wesley, which I'm sort of using to explain my absence for the last few weeks.
  22. Is is too late to have Grim jump in on this one? I like dark creepy stuff, and I need the posts!
  23. I want this very much to happen, so Grim is in; we need to figure out where it takes place, who is involved and who started it.
