  1. The beautiful brunette can only shake her head as she stands and approaches the indicated spot. "You are such a goof." Lynn frowns thoughtfully as she runs her fingers over the bricks. "Wow, I can definitely feel something, like little pinpricks in my fingertips; here, take your hand and-" Suddenly her arm is sucked into the wall up to her wrist, the skin ending cleanly at the brick and mortar. "Aw, crap, no!" She grabs her arms with her other hand and gives it a sharp tug. "Ow! Oh man, I think I'm goin' in, dude!" She indicates her messenger bag with a jerk of her head. "Quick, grab your stuff! I don't want to leave you here naked, y'know? Ah, man that hurts! Like ice cold metal!" She fishes her phone out of her pocket with her free hand, which unfortunately allows her trapped limb to get sucked in up to her elbow. "Damn it! Quick, put your number in here! I want to call you once I come back out again, 'cause I think this is gonna be a solo run. Hurry! Type it in and drop it in the the bag!" She lobs the phone at the fox boy, and grabs her rapidly-disappearing arm again; her face is taut and glistens with sweat.
  2. Lynn stuffs Sirius' clothes into her messenger bag, which she throws over her shoulder as she drops to a crouch to follow him. "That's it, that's gotta be it."
  3. "Aaaaugh!" Tiny airborne Grim barely dodges the flailing limbs of Breakdown; she'd never seen such a violent reaction to something so seemingly harmless! Grim reappears at full size, her form trailing wisps of thin vapor, an apologetic grimace on her face. "Dude, if I had any idea you had...'earophobia' or whatever, I never would have done it; I won't mess around anymore, at least not with your ears." Her cheeks go a bit pink at the motherly scolding from Phantom, and she shuts up for a while.
  4. While Scarab takes the team on a virtual tour of the dark tower, Grim idly fingers the Martian rock she pocketed, her eyes unfocused as the building unfolds before them. "Yeah, the kids have to be safe. I'm worried I might be detected by any mystical alarms or whatnot this guy might have set up; maybe the magic folks should operate separate from the non-magic ones, almost acting like a diversion? I mean, still be part of the plan, but make them think we're the only ones here, or something. I dunno, Dr. Smart Guy can figure out the details."
  5. Hmm, no bites on this, huh? I'm more than willing to work on a thread with you; the question would be in what capacity? Grim is far more likely to be involved in something taking place in the Fens than Gossamer is, so she is the logical choice. You would think she would be out to thwart Blink, but not necessarily; once upon a time, before she left town (during my hiatus away from these boards), she was attempting to infiltrate the criminal underworld of Freedom, so she might be looking to do this again. As part of such a program, she might bring one of her two criminal aliases into play, and if the crime is non-violent, she even might go along for the whole shebang, just to establish her street cred. Let me read over your character and the thread you linked to to get some ideas; if you have any of your own, by all means suggest them :)
  6. I would definitely be up for this, depending on timeline schedule.
  7. For a few seconds, Grim listens as the tone of the conversation gradually shifts...to peaches  Wait, is everyone under some sort of spell, or are these kids that damn goofy? She rather subtly allows herself to fade from view, not unlike the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland, as she monitors the conversation. Then the whole group makes its way over to the peach cannery, and she decides she's rather look silly than be left behind. There's a sudden in-rush of air, then Sprite Grim pops into existence, tiny and adorable. She zooms over to the others, still hidden from sight, and hovers in close to whisper in Breakdown's ear. "You kids are crazy, you know that?"
  8. Grim nods uncertainly; sadly, part of her actually preferred classic 'Sullen, Slightly Hostile Phantom' to new 'Friendly, Let's Go Get Killed Phantom', but at least it was something to do on a slow night. She shrinks down to sprite form once again and zips out the window. "Last one there pays for coffee!"
  9. Estelle faced the various trials cheerfully, even though after a while she began to experience a certain amount of bureaucratic fatigue; she was most intrigued by the "Consent To Mental Scan" forms. She holds one up and points at the relevant clause with her pen. "So I assume this means my mind will be probed by a telepath of some sort? Is this more of a a surface scan or really thorough going over? I can assure you I've nothing to hide, but it does seem to be a bit alarming."
  10. Estelle laughs heartily, and ripples flow out to the ends of her tresses. "'Routine?' I don't think I'll have another 'routine' day for the rest of my life, Viktor; no, the idea is to find a place where the 'extraordinary is ordinary', to bring our earlier conversation full circle. As I understand it, Claremont may be one of the last places on Earth where I won't stand out, where my mind and experience can once again be of use, and my other abilities won't be a distraction." She sighs deeply as she raises her stein for another swig. "Or at least, so I hope."
  11. It's my mission to get caught up tonight; look for a post!
  12. Look for a post tonight, alder.
  13. Sorry, will post tonight
  14. Sorry I'm so behind! Will post here tonight.
  15. Lynn nods. "That's cool. It's just like with bikers; people always assume they're like these horrible people or something, but I met a few who were friends of my dad, and most of them were super-cool and kinda mellow." She munches on her samosa for a bit, has a sip of tea, then cocks her head to one side as she eyes Wesley. "So do you think you're gonna crash back at, uh, her place for a while, or do you see yourself movin' out some day? I mean, for me personally, I think it's starting to get to me." The brunette shakes her head. "I mean, she's been great and all, but I need to live somewhere a bit more...normal, know what I mean? I give it another month, maybe two tops. How 'bout you?"
  16. Lynn grins. "Yeah, I get that a lot; I actually take it as a compliment." When the humanoid fox creature that is (or was) Sirius steps into the light, Lynn's mouth falls open, and she is genuinely speechless for several seconds, a relative rarity for her. Her eyes trace the outlines of his vulpine form with childlike wonder, and she takes a tentative step forward with her hand outstretched, but stops just short of touching him. That line snaps her back to reality, and she playfully punches his hairy shoulder. "Hey, less talk about my mystical b.o. and more with the portal detection, foxy!" Then it sinks in that she just touched a foxman, and she gently reaches out and strokes his fur. "Wow. Ever see Princess Mononoke? Definitly getting a strong Miyazaki vibe here..."
  17. Belated thanks for all the birthday love, guys! :D
  18. Grimalkin, please! The PL10 character sheet has all you need, including two pictures and a description, and is part of a complete breakfast I'll get you references for Gossamer, too.
  19. Welcome Prescient and NTSH!
  20. Sorry for the dearth of posting this week; I've been desperately trying to finish my two games for GenCon and haven't had a lot of creative energy to spare. I was hoping to post last night but my Internet connection was on the blink, and I don't honestly know if I will have the energy to post tonight when I get home from Harry Potter (me and the kid from Privet Lane have the same birthday, don'cha know), since I barely slept last night for no reason I can determine. We shall see; if not, see you all in August! :D

  22. Estele takes a rather hearty swig and politely burps into her hand. "Excuse me! Well, yes and no; I negotiated continued access to my old lab on an 'as needed' basis, but I have no plans to go back there full time." She gazes absently into her beer while golden 'fingers' deftly use a knife to spread the soft warm cheese onto crusty bread. "My transformed status makes it...challenging to share a lab; no one seems to take me seriously, and the unwanted attention in the workplace has gotten rather boring." She daintily picks up the bread and takes a bite. "Mmm, that's quite good! No, I'm working on a career change; are you familiar with the Claremont Academy in Bayview? I hope to be teaching there soon."
  23. Welcome back, Sandy Man!
