I think UDK is still inside watching tv, guys. I think he was pacing in front of the front door inside the foyer, as it were.

"Ah brought pie!" Lulu Beaumont entered the room with her gramma's famous key lime pie, with a circle of rainbow toothpick flags stuck in the top. She was wearing black jeans and Hi-Tops, and a pink shirt with a rainbow flag on it. Technically, it was an illusion of a rainbow flag, which explained why it appeared to be flapping in an invisible breeze. The young Alabaman wasn't sure if she was much of an ally to the LGBT+ community; back home, she'd done very little publicly to further their cause. Growing up in a very conservative small Southern town, she'd had no real contact with any 'alternative' sexualities or orientations, and wouldn't have known what to say to them if she did. But she'd been a telepath be since she was ten, long before she had any concept of respect for privacy. She knew every secret Columbia, Alabama had, and there were more than a few people living in the closet, terrified of the judgement they'd face if their secrets were revealed. At first she found it silly, then increasingly sad and finally tragic; lives spent half-lived in shadows. She didn't know what to do for them, so she'd merely watched and witnessed their suffering, and felt awful inside. So now she was here, in the hope that she could do better; she hoped the pie was a good start.

Torque's not worried about her secret identity being discovered through the mayor's office, which is why she was the first to agree to sign! She's more worried about slipping up herself somehow, and leading bad guys back to her people. Hence her desire to move off her uncle's property.
-
It saddened Taye somewhat that there weren't more takers of the mayor's offer, but she supposed she understood; perhaps if she felt more connected to her family, she'd be more fearful for them. But her father paid a great deal for security, so she wasn't too worried about that side of her family. As for her uncle, though... "I am currently residing on my uncle's property, an auto wreck yard. If possible, I'd like to take him out of harm's way by relocating." She shrugged. "I do not eat or sleep, so my needs are minimal; just a place to store my clothes and books, and access to tools and a garage for routine maintenance.'

Claremont Academy Infirmary. Sunday, September 8th, 2019. 10:08 am Little by little, Lulu woke up, feeling a slight crick in her neck. She was in a hospital gown in a hospital-style bed, but there was also something padded and rather bulky around her neck. She reached up and her fingers grazed a strange collar she was wearing for some- "Oh s###." It all came back to her: her powers going crazy, Adam showing up, throwing the new girl halfway across the room, Ashley doing something impossible. And now this; she'd worn an inhibitor collar once before, and though not a fan, it was still better than drugs. She lay back in bed and sighed. "Adam," she called out softly. "You around, hon?"

Lulu looked up at Ashley, heard the new tone in her voice, and knew she was about to get a peek behind the curtain. On some level, she knew Judy's sister wasn't doing this out of the goodness of her heart; she made a vow to someone to protect her little sister from anyone who might harm her. In fact, she'd probably kill to protect her, maybe even had. And surely that was love of some kind. So really, she was here out of love. And Lulu was fine with that. "Just do it," she said flatly; she was so tired. "Just make it end."

Lulu pursed her lips and shook her head nonchalantly. "Uh, no, no Adam today; it'll just be you and me. Adam's got a science thing goin' on." Then she slapped her thighs and hopped to her feet. "So let's head on out! Unless you need to shower, brush your teeth or anythin'. Ah'll wait out in the hall." Lulu stepped out into the hall, stuck her hands in the pockets of her jacket, and casually leaned against the wall with her legs crossed. And just like that, they were spending the day alone together.

It appeared that Lulu was hyperventilating, but trying to get her breathing under control; her hair was damp with sweat, her pale face slick. She was holding onto Adam's arm for dear life, but even with her nails digging in so hard, she did no damage, just like he said. Her breathing was shallow and rapid, and her boyfriend could see her pulse on her neck. "It's okay... we're okay...just as long as...no meds... breathe, Lulu... breathe, baby girl...breathe..." The ring of debris continued to spin around the two of them, fast enough to cut the unwary who might try and approach.

Lulu beamed when Davyd came to the door. "Hey there, good mornin'! Ah just-" Then she paused and looked him up and down. "You just woke up and used your powers to clean up, didn't you?" She said it without any judgement beyond a sigh, and then stepped into the room and looked around. "You and Ben up all night gamin'? Ah get that. Spent a few late nights playin' Mario Kart with mah brother Bobby, back in the day." Using her telekinesis, she floated a few things off of Ben's bed and had a seat at the foot of it. "Anywho, ah was wonderin' if you'd like to hang out at the mall today? Halloween's a-comin' soon, and ah'm lookin' to maybe spruce up the room with a skeleton or two, maybe look at some costumes, see if anything's new at the game store...stuff like that. How's that grab ya?"

Claremont Academy, Kord Dormitory. Sunday, October 6th, 2019. 11:00 am Contrary to popular belief, Adam and Lulu were not joined at the hip; sure, they had a very close relationship, but they didn't actually do everything together. For instance, this particular Sunday Adam was planning to work with some of his classmates on a science project, which was very cool, but not quite his girlfriend's cup of tea. She decided instead to head on over to the Bayview Mall to maybe do some shopping, or at very least check out the cool Halloween costumes and scary props for sale. She and Davyd had both expressed an interest in doing something fun for the holiday, so maybe she could- And then the idea hit her, and she loved it. Dressing up in a red jacket, green sweater and burgundy slacks, along with some black riding boots, she headed down to the second floor and knocked on Room 213's door. "Hey, Davyd. Do you have a sec?"

Lulu looked very relieved to see Mia back again already "Thank you, ah-" But then she noticed the bag the nurse was holding, and she sat straight up in bed. "Waitaminute, there better not be any f###in' meds in that bag! I am not goin' back on meds again!" All the bits of broken things began to slowly rise up off the floor and swirl around Lulu, her bed and Adam. The redheaded psychic turned to her boyfriend, blind fear in her eyes. "Don't let them put me on meds again, Adam! It feels like death! It's worse than death!" Rings of broken glass and shattered plastic began to orbit around Lulu, like the ones that orbited Jupiter and Saturn, but only about fifteen feet across.. They weren't going very fast yet, but they were starting to pick up speed, and some of them looked awful sharp.

Here we go!

City Hall, Vibora Bay. September 5th, 2019. Noon. In a conference room just down the hall from the mayor's office, seven very unique individuals were gathering around a long table in comfortable chairs. Coffee and bagels had been provided by the mayor's staff, but several of the heroes of Hurricane Dorian craved more substantial fare, so a take-out menu for the Mediterranean place next door led to the room now being full of the smell of seasoned lamb and other savory delicacies. While the food did indeed smell delicious to young Taye Sullivan. So while the others were splitting up the various meats, rice and breads, she poured herself a cup of hot water and took a seat. "It's indeed exciting to have the opportunity to work with you all again," she said in her clear, deep voice as she fished two clear Ziploc bags out of her coverall pockets; one appeared to hold a few pieces of rusted metal, the other several spark plugs. "Of course, last night's work largely took place in the heat of the moment, with little or no planning. it will be interesting to see how we work together when we have more time to talk about things like strategy or logistics." Taye gingerly took several pieces of rust out of the bag and carefully crumbled them into her hot water, which she then stirred with a plastic spoon. "Perhaps we should first take the time to talk about our abilities, strengths and weaknesses before we go any further? As of right now, I am primarily limited to assuming vehicular shapes, but I hope to move beyond that by testing myself further." She took a sparkplug out of her second bag, popped it in her mouth, and washed it down with a sip of rust tea, all the while looking at the others expectantly.

Lulu couldn't help cocking an eyebrow at Herodotus' brief description of the Surface World. "Ah'm guessin' you're missin' the ocean a lot, right about now. Here, maybe this'll help with the homesickness." She closed he dark eyes, and suddenly the Atlantean was transported back beneath the deep sea water in an illusion she created just for him; it was as though he was standing on a sandy sea bed, with dappled sunlight from above playing over pink coral. A school of silvery fish darted past him and around him, and in the distance the song of a humpback could be heard. Of course, the illusion wasn't perfect, looking much more like something out of a nature documentary or city aquarium than a actual trip back to the ocean, but the cool against his skin and the beautiful and eerie acoustics beneath the waves were still a welcome reprieve from the harsh onslaught of surface life. Then all too quickly the illusion was gone, and he was back up on dry land. Lulu opened her eyes and shrugged apologetically. "Did ah get anywhere close?" In response to Kam's inquiry, the teen telepath sighed and shook her head. "Oh Lord; don't get me started on that boy." She turned to the two new arrivals and placed a delicate hand on her chest. "Excuse us, gentlemen; Kam and ah must discuss affairs of the heart." She then joined Kam on his way back downstairs, and got a little catty as she described the morning's events. "So anyway, Leroy's been avoidin' Judy all summer, just ghostin' her to hell and back, okay? Then he shows up today, and admits her has no real excuse as to why he ain't called or sent even a single text. Then he lays out a whole bunch of flowery hoo-haw about how Judy is the sun who lights up the dawn and whatnot, and then, he has the nerve to propose to her. As in marriage! Right in front of the whole school! So naturally, Ash bein' Ash, she flips out and drags Judy off into the nether regions of the dorms, never to be heard from again." Finally Lulu paused to take a breath and nod. "Yep, that pretty much covers it."
-
Everyone okay if I start this? I would probably have it set in a conference room set aside for the heroes by the mayor's staff, starting more or less right after any who chose to sign did so. This would be a private meeting without any government folk, though they'd probably like to have at least some idea of what we come up with after the discussion. As a private discussion, Woodsman would be welcome to join, but would not be beholden to anything the municipal defenders agree to as a team. If Woodsman wouldn't want to be there, that's obviously cool, too. If this seems wonky to anyone, let's figure it out now in OOC before we start IC ?

Just a heads up in case you missed it, HGM, but Shrike is on the bench right now, so someone else can grab her spot. -
Lulu smiled at the thought of Aquaria bringing gifts and holiday cheer; despite the awful things Ben had said in his frustration, she could sense that the Deep One was at her heart a gentle soul, though like any human probably capable of terrible violence if pushed. As to Aquaria's questions about religion, here the redheaded teen had to pause as she leaned against the table. "Ah'm...not sure where ah stand with the Southern Baptist Convention. Ah mean, ah believe there's more to this world than we see, but ah'm not a big fan of all the hypocrisy on display in its Sunday best." She sighed and shrugged. "Guess ah'm still tryin' to figure out my own personal faith." Suddenly several curious illusionary fish began to gather around Nick's head; meanwhile, Lulu rolled her eyes and looked up at the ceiling. "You know what's not the best way to sneak up on a telepath? Thinkin' 'ah hope they don't see me' really loud in your head." She looked over her shoulder and offered the newcomer a friendly if somewhat mischievous smile. "Howdy, Nick. Why don't you come join us?"
-
Lynn winced and shook her head."Look, don't...don't pay me anything, dude! If anything, I should pay YOU!" She sat up and turned to face her demigod friend. "Do you have any idea how lonely it's been here for the last year, with just me and the cats? I just... I really need a friend right now, okay? Let's not make a weird financial arrangement out of it; let's just share the space as friends, and we'll see where that takes us, alright?" Then she wriggled back into Moira's side like a cat. "I just need a snuggle buddy right now..."
-
Lynn looked up into Moore's eyes, seemingly surprised, them smiled. "That would be lovely," she said softly. And then she scooted over on the sofa until their bodies were touching, side by side. "Are you guys having sex," called the voice from the kitchen. "I think you're having sex." "Shut up, 'Anne'! None of your damn beeswax!" "Fine, I'll just keep making food, like a damn slave!" Lynn squeezed her eyes shut and snapped her fingers; there was a small 'eep!' and the sound of an aluminum pan clattering to the floor. "How about we make brunch," she said, not moving from the sofa.
-
Lulu looked a little uncomfortable again as she sipped her punch, trying to figure out the best way to answer that. "Well, ah think ah can, but that sort of thing makes me a bit nervous. Because, like, who decides what's the right way to think? If ah change someone's memories, ah'm changin' part of who they are, know what ah mean? And that just feels...wrong to me." She finished off her punch, but still held onto her cup, slowly rotating it with her fingers as she stared into its depths. "Ah took control of my daddy, when he...asked me to do somethin' awful. He threatened me and my brother, ah told him to f### off, and then he swung his hand back to hit me-" And now Lulu held her own hand up in a warding gesture, her dark eyes looking into the past. "And ah stopped him; ah reached into his head and pulled his strings." Then she closed her hand into a fist, before slowly dropping it to her side. "Ah don't really like to think about it."
