At this point, I'm imposing a moratorium on new threads for myself for awhile, until I get my posting schedule under control. Some of my threads haven't been updated in three weeks. Have fun!

Casey's jaw dropped a bit as she looked from Bolt to Fulcrum, then back again, one eyebrow cocked. "Sooo, that's it? We're in?" And then the enormity of what she just said it her, and her eyes went wide. "Omigod, we're in! We're in!" The blonde heroine leaped up, grabbed Fulcrum in her arms, and proceeded to spin around in the air several times a few feet off the ground, happy tears streaming down her face as she repeated her refrain over and over again. "We're in, we're in, we're in!"

Grim's ears were extremely sensitive, so she heard what Paige said, but she appreciated the need to compartmentalize information in a situation like this; they were literally standing inside the enemy, or at least an extension of her, so the walls actually had ears. She had a new trick to try out that could be incredibly useful in this situation, but she couldn't let the house know what she was up to; this would take some finesse to pull off, and even then, there was no way to be sure beforehand. After all, she had no idea what sort of sensors Garvey had access to within these walls. It's all smoke and mirrors and sleight of hand, kid. Step 1. Grim abruptly went invisible; oh, those wacky shapeshifters! Step 2. Take a five foot step to the right. Step 3. Conjure up a glamoured duplicate (affectionately known as 'Grim2') in the spot she formerly occupied. Hey look, she's back! Step 4. Try and reach out to Paige to let her know what was up. - Hey Paige. If you can hear me, I just made a glamoured clone, but the real me is invisible and nearby. Just so you know what tools you have to work with, amirite? -

Casey laughed as Fulcrum went into considerable detail about her heroic life; clearly, there was a difference once you went pro! On the topic of herself, she had to pause for a few seconds; a lot of it would be considered 'classified', but she had a feeling the League probably already knew most of this stuff. "Okay, well I guess I'm technically a second generation hero, since my dad is Vigillant. I grew up an Air Force brat, mostly in Colorado. My mom is an Air Force nurse and my older brother is at the Academy, so it obviously had a major impact on our lives." She sighed and slapped the top of her thighs. "What else, what else...uh, I've been a Girl Scout since I was this tall-" She held her hand about two feet above the floor. "And can recite the Girl Scout Law from memory." Then she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout." She opened her eyes and chuckled. "Wow, haven't said that out loud in a while! And I know just staying words doesn't mean anything if you don't live it. And I know it's kind of, you know, morally simplistic: not all authority is just, and I've had to lie more than a few times when I'm working a case. But, as moral codes go, I still think it's kind of awesome." And now Casey paused, and her brow furrowed in thought. "I don't just want to do superhero stuff, though, partly because it's usually more reactive than active. And that's why I'm studying journalism in school; I want to go places and meet people, and then bring their stories back. I'm studying Arabic because I think a lot of people in this country don't understand the Muslim world, and I want to help shed some light on that." She clapped her hands together and shrugged. "So, that's me, I guess."

Can I take 20 on Search if MG uses her Quickness?

Miracle Girl "Yep, it smells like boy in here," Casey said she waved a hand in front her face. Then she began to sweep the room with her eyes, using her microscopic vision to look for clues. She was especially interested in the melted lock, but there could be other things the police might have missed. Her super-speed allowed her scan a lot in a short amount of time. As she stood in the middle of the room, eyes darting here and there, she tried to get a bit more information about her diminutive new 'partner'. "So I'm guessing you've probably taken a college class or two; what's your major?"

Lulu wiped tears from her eyes at Judy's heartfelt declaration. "Aw shucks, you're makin' me cry! But ah gotta thank you, Judy, for just...bein' you! Ah know you and Ash have been through a lot, more than most of us, and that creates a bond stronger than steel. So I want to thank you-" And here she looked at Ashley, a small smile on her lips. "Both of you for lettin' us into your lives; you're good people who deserve the best out of life, and I hope you're findin' here." And then she reached over to give Judy a hug, too.
-
The sight of Ashley's scowl made Lulu laugh so loud, she was afraid she'd wake her foster family. After a few seconds with her hands clamped over her mouth, she mostly recovered her composure and was able to respond. - Aw, look at Ashley's sweet face! ? - - Hi, Ash! Hope we're not keeping you up! - Then she uploaded a picture that might even melt that Grinch's heart: a space teddy bear wearing a nacho sombrero, courtesy of the Claremont students playing with the food replicators. Said space bear was desperately trying to sneak her tongue up to get a taste of the crunchy goodness. - Per Ashley's request! -

Switching to direct attack. Attack roll: 1d20+10=16 DC 27 Toughness save if that connects. -
Oh man, all of those sound interesting! Fight club would probably be the top of Lulu's list, both as a way to learn self-defense and to try to work her way into Watchdog's good graces. I'd commit to all three, but am concerned about getting overloaded; I might have to do the guest speaker one, though.

It was clear several metahumans were now converging on the area, which was good; the situation clearly required force applied at great speed, which was not something the police or military could pull off so effectively. Her first thought had been to mow down the shambling figures, but with evacuations in progress, such a tactic might harm innocent civilians. So instead, the massive abomination became Torque's target. Tilting herself forward and gaining velocity, the techshifter aimed for the creature's right eye, hoping to tear a large chunk out of its flesh and hopefully impair its vision with her rotors blades; she would have gone for one of the lower limbs, but two metahumans were already operating down there, and there's was no point in putting them at risk.

The redheaded telepath hadn't meant to spook the newbie, but she suspected some past trauma might have made him extra-jumpy. The arrival of another new student proved helpful as well. "Oh, okay," she said with a nod as she put a check next to Nicholas' name; her accent placed her origins well South of the Mason-Dixon line. She turned back to the first student. "But you hear fine, right? And do you prefer Nicholas or Nick?" After noting his preference, she scanned down her clipboard until she found Claude's name, and put a check next to it as well. "Well, good mornin' to you, Claude; ah gotcha riiiight here." Then she looked at both of them and smiled, a big warm one. "So, just to reiterate, ah'm Lulu Beaumont. I'm a junior here at Claremont, and part of the welcomin' committee. Now I know y'all probably think you're a bunch of weirdos, but let me tell you, there's always someone weirder here at Claremont! It'll be tough at first; you might miss your home or your family, and there's a whole lotta strangeness under one roof, but you do get used to it." Suddenly, she paused her spiel to look thoughtfully at Nicholas and bite her lower lip. "Uh, speakin' of strangeness...ah'm actually a telepath? And if you ever want, ah'd be happy to facilitate any sort of communication-" She drew a line in the air between her forehead and the silent teen's with two fingers. "Just so you know it's an option, okay? You just let me know."

Lulu had really appreciated all the guidance she'd received when she was a newbie to Claremont, so she was one of the first to volunteer to help this year's students. So she'd spent most of the morning providing directions, using her mental projections to create floating interactive maps and other visual aids to help the students find their rooms. It was fun, she got to show off a bit and meet new people, three things she enjoyed. Ever since she moved in with the Harrows her sense of style had become more and more sophisticated, but on a day like today she dressed for comfort in a pair of pink Nikes, pink and gray sweats and a Claremont baseball cap, as well as a pair of big sunglasses. Her hair was pulled through the back of her cap in a ponytail, and she bounced on the balls of her feet, eager to dart to whomever looked a bit lost. A clipboard was clutched firmly to her chest. Heading inside to refill her water bottle, she spotted a sheepish looking young man by the water cooler whom she didn't recognize, so she sidled up to him and waved. "Hi, ah'm Lulu; ah'm part of the welcomin' committee." She looked down at her clipboard. "And you are...?"

- "I will attempt to move the vehicle." - This proved to be easier said then done; hooking her landing struts in the windows allowed Torque to lift the the car up and out of the ditch, but in the process the roof was sheared off. No matter; the family was alive, and while Speed-Demon raced ahead with the injured man, the vehicular heroine air lifted the rest of his family to the same hospital. However, the car accident proved to be the least of their concerns, as they returned to the scene in time to see a towering menace just destroyed most of an historic church, and somehow in the process managed to...raise the dead? - "How is this even possible?" - The helicopter sounded genuinely confused.

Clearly something bad was going down on the North side of town, so Taye tipped her nose down and increased her speed, switching to IR to look for any signs of life or vehicles in danger. She also kept her radio switched to the emergency frequencies, listening for any updates. The jet black helicopter flew over the city about a hundred feet above the street until it reached the crash site. Hovering overhead, the wash from her props whipping up the wind and rain even further, Taye trained her lights on the scene as she increased her amplification in an attempt to be heard over the noise; the voice was somewhat deep, but clearly female. - "My name is Torque. Are you in need of assistance?" -

I'm assuming you'll want a Notice roll of some kind. This is for Darkvision, Infrared Vision, and Radio Hearing Notice: 1d20+5=14 -
Something was going on, but Taye had a bad viewpoint down on the ground; time to take to the air, rain or no. She smoothly rolled into a decent-sized parking lot, and with but a thought, she began to reconfigure herself into a black helicopter, rotors sprouting out of her roof and a long tail forming out of her trunk. Soon the loud roar of her rotors filled the night air as she slowly rose up and cleared the roofline, her lights lancing out into the black. Straining to make out anything through Dorian's wrath, she cycled through her darkvision and IR modes, as well as monitoring radio chatter. There might be more going on tonight then just a storm.

maybe Torque can be near the same shelter by St. Paul's? I'm thinking she probably just dropped some people off and was starting to head back out when the lights went out.
