Remember when I said in chat that I was feeling overextended? That was before somebody finally did a thread set at FCU! Put Miracle Girl's name on this.

"Coming, coming, coming," a pleasant voice called out from the depths of the store; it's owner was a woman who looked to be in her early thirties, about Serena's height but much lighter build. Shoulder-length curly brown hair, big brown eyes, very cute and elfin. She was wearing a vintage Disney T-shirt showing Princess Jasmine, loose jeans and a pair of pink Nikes, all under a brown Silberman's Books apron. As she got closer, the delivery woman noticed two things about the bookstore owner: the woman was very light on her feet, and much more attractive up close. Flashing a breathy smile, she brushed a lock of hair out her eyes and pulled a pen out of her apron pocket. "Hi, I'm Lynn; welcome to Silbermans! Whadda we got today?" Her accent was pure South Jersey, which was somewhat at odds with her appearance; one could almost picture her singing to a bluebird perched on her finger.

"Ah could definitely eat," Lulu admitted as she scrolled through her phone. "Somethin' spicy, with lots of fresh fruit! And can we drink here?" It was all still a bit overwhelming; her current life bore almost no relation to her old one, and if she stopped to think about it too much, it made her head spin. "Also shoppin' might be fun; I'm sure there's local markets and stuff." She tucked her phone back in her purse, then sidled up next to Adam, her fingers intertwining with his. She peered up it him from under the brim of her hat and smiled, so happy to be sharing all this with him. "How 'bout you, darlin'; what do you want to do?"

According to Thev, this will not overlap with Dead Men Tell No Tales, so I'll put up Lulu. As a telepathic universal translator, she could be very useful in space.

Lulu was delighted when Veronica invited her and Adam to accompany her to the Caribbean. If this had been a year ago, she'd have been overwhelmed by the experince, but living with the Harrows was almost as jet set-y as being a Danger, for she'd visited both the UK and Fiji over the winter break. Still, the trip was still thrilling, made even moreso by the presence of her boyfriend. The pale redhead had learned her lesson during the 'Great Burning' on Fiji, and this trip she was much better prepared for the UV rays. Today she wore wearing a green diaphanous beach shrug with floral designs over her blue tank top, loose white beach pants and a pair of Top Siders. She also wore a wide straw sunhat and big round sunglasses whenever she was outside. Finally, every day she liberally slathered herself with a high-SPF sunscreen that left her smelling like some sort of delicious tropical dessert. During the flight over, the telepath naturally spent a lot of time cuddling with Adam, but also eagerly chatted with everyone else. At a few points she provided riveting play-by-play retellings from Adam's tabletop game, using her mental projections to supplement her storytelling. Currently she was glued to the window, eagerly pointing out various points of interest to Adam as they approached the harbor.

Lulu stepped into the room, and then proceeded to walk around the circumference of the shell, stopping to reach out and gently rap it with her knuckles. "Well, that's a hell of a thing! Let me have a peek inside right quick" The redheaded psychic closed her eyes for several seconds, occasionaly turning her head this way and that way. She then abruptly opened her eyes. "Huh!" She put her hands on her hips, shook her head and shrugged at Ashley. "Well, ah don't know where Judy is, but she ain't in there; there ain't nothin' in there! It's like a, what do you call it, a void." Finally noticing Adam's arrival, she stepped over to his side and put her arm around his waist. "Hey, darlin'. You see this?"

For a moment ot two, Casey's thoughts became clouded, and she felt another's will directing her actions. But then something deep inside her rose up and broke the link. I am no one's puppet! Did the host sense her resistance? Was the connection two way? Hoping their would-be manipulator was none the wiser, Casey attempted to play along, unsure of the best course of action. She was worried about Darlene, who'd obviously not resisted the vampire's influence. The very millisecond her friend was in danger, she would snap into action, but for now she'd wait... "I love these boots," she said breathlessly as she sat on the edge of the bed and grabbed a pair of thigh highs. "Do you have anything in a US women's nine?"

Lulu was still looking for her boyfriend when she poked her head into the common room. "Oh hi, Ash! Have you seen Adam? He wasn't-" At this point the redhead noted the large shell in the middle of the room; it was very large and very pretty, but seemed at odds with the rest of the room's decor. "Well that's new! Wonder how that got in here?" It was only then that she saw Ashley's stricken expression; she could think of only one thing in tje world that could make her look like that. She rapidly crossed the room to Watchdog's side. "What's wrong, where's Judy?"

What's the descriptor? Sadly Casey is Vulnerable to Psionic attacks ?

Lulu sighed and nodded, feeling a bit better about the whole conversation. -Yeah, it's pretty late; I'll let you get to bed. Thanks for talking.- The redhead reached over and turned out the light, then settled into her bed. -You're a good person, Judy, and you deserve to be happy. I hope we can be friends; you know, in the 'real world'.- And then, just before she drifted off- -Good night...-

"Absolutely" Gretchen rose up smoothly out of the ground and then floated over towards the portal, arms crossed over her chest. She seemed to be appraising Robin's handiwork likena connoisseur, unfazed but appreciative. "Well, then. Nice portal. I've got one, too, but it's a little different. More like a storage locker. Kind of small. Please tell me you have changing rooms in here. I have armor, but it takes a little time to put on." She shrugged. "If you don't, its fine. I'm not bashful."

"They forgot how to speak German," Casey muttered to herself as she shook her head. "What meatheads!" She turned to ask her mentor a question, but noted Terrifica was already on the move. "Well, okay then! Let's make something happen!" The criminal oafs sounded so pathetic when they called out for their leader, she almost felt bad for them. Almost. Switching to thickly accented English, she tried a new tactic as she called out once again. >"MEIN FAITHFUL SERVANTS, I HAFF BEEN BUSY! I HAFF PERFECTED MEIN NEUTRINO RAY! SET ASIDE YOUR CRUDE TOYS, UND I SHALL BRING GLORIOUS NEW WEAPONS TO YOU!"< If this actually works...

Casey allowed herself to be pulled up (trying to get a gauge on the woman's strength in the process), and made a big show of looking embarrassed. "Omigod, I am so sorry! I don't normally wear heels this high, but when I googled 'goth party', this is what all the girls were wearing..." She hobbled around pathetically on her broken heel, leaning on the woman for support. When the 'host' made his offer, she practically melted with gratitude. "Oh, thank you so much, you're so nice! Here, let me get these off..." She reached down and removed first one shoe, then the other. "That is so much better! Actually, this thing is too hot-" Casey reached up and did the last thing she though she was going to do tonight: she undid the black lace collar she'd been wearing for modesty, exposing her long neck and corset-enhanced bosum. "There! I can finally breathe," she said with a grateful sigh. "Now let's go try on shoes!" Sorry, daddy, but it's for work! The two sorority sisters followed their host, one alert for trouble, the other deeply confused.

"God, I hate this guy so much," Grimalkin groaned. "Not only is he an inhumam monster, but his pseudonyms are so...so...f###ing cliche. He's a monster with bad taste, and he's preying on the goths, who never hurt anyone. Goths and punks and bikers, man; I'll take 'em over yuppies any day." Once Set's squad gave them an address, the changeling smoothly shifted into a young goth girl, with long white hair with blue highlights, blue-grey eyes and black lipstick. She wore a black T-shirt with a blood red pentagram over a long-sleeved stripped top, black jeans with shreaded knees and a well-worn pair of Doc Martens. Grim couldn't glamour up any silver jewellery, so she made do with lots of black onyx, including earlobe plugs, and twisted leather cords around her wrist. "Whaddya think," the goth girl asked in a somewhat raspy voice as she peered down at her look. "Too much or not enough?"

Lynn sat there, nose resting on steepled fingers as she pondered Murk's words, slowly nodding to herself, just the smallest of nods up and down. Her eyes narrowed for a few moments, then she took in a long, slow breath. "Okay. Okay. I see where you're coming from, and it makes sense." She turned slightly and looked off into space, stroking her upper lip with one finger. She said nothing for several seconds. "So I guess...my next question has to do with justice; I understand your argument about the limits of mortal justice, but does that then mean that we, the other immortals, police ourselves? Are we the check that keeps us all in line? And where do the undead fit in all of this?"

Lynn sighed, recalling a previous time she'd helped a Grue hybrid who was struggling with his shapeshifting; of course, that was many years ago, and led to a surprisingly steamy kiss... "Okay, good hustle out there, kid," the suddenly pink-cheeked changeling declared as she loudly clapped her hands like a high school coach. "As you can see, Miss Grue will be an excellent mentor, whereas I will serve in a more advisory capacity. I can't do growth or add extra limbs or stuff like that." She stopped and did an little shrug. "Well, I can; I used to, but now it's a lot harder, so I prefer to just, y'know, play to my strengths."

Lulu frowned at the term 'operational security', which suggested...what, exactly? An outside agency of some kind? Superhero or governmental? So. Many. Questions! Then suddenly a pang of guilt shot through her heart; did she really want to help Judy, or did she just want to lure her into revealing more details about herself? Now deeply conflicted, she started pondering exit strategies. -I'm glad you're both okay. I...don't want you to get in trouble for talking to me. You and Ashley have a...special bond, and I'd never want to threaten that.-
-
At first, Lynn seemed utterly unfazed by Davyd's impersonation; she'd done far worse and far weirder for years, so seeing her double wasn't upsetting. In fact, she was very proud of the young student. "Nice work, kid! You've got a great eye for detail, and your fabric textures are spot-on!" But when he attempted to grow, her expression became more troubled. "Ohhhh dear," said Lynn softly to herself. "Now we have to roll Violet to the juicing room..." Taking a few steps back, she looked at Daphne and motioned towards her swollen doppelganger. "This might be a job for a more versatile shifter than me. I just do shapes, not stuff like mass or volume."

'Ashley wouldn't want me talking to you'? Lulu filled that tidbit away for future analysis, but chose not to comment on it at the moment. Definitely a peek behind he curtain, but a small one. Instead she focused on happier subjects. -Oh, my fosters are amazing! I haven't felt this free and safe for a long time. They took me to England for Christmas, and then we went to Fiji for New Years, because they're crazy stupid rich! I'll have to introduce you to them sometime.- A wave of reflected contentment washed over Judy like the surf on a Hawaiian beach. -Do you and Ashley have foster parents over here, or are you considered wards of Miss Summers?
-
Lulu scoffed and shook her head. -Uh, no! Why would I...oh, I'm sorry; why would you know? Child Protective Services took me out of my home over a year ago. My daddy's in the Houston County Jail, awaiting trial on multiple charges of wire fraud and extortion.- She sighed. -And I helped put him there; I'm living with a foster family here in Freedom while I'm at Claremont.-
