  1. Will save: 1d20+10=18 D'oh! I do, however, have Ultimate Save (Will), which I think gives me some sort of reroll? Edit: okay, read up on it. Lulu is definitely spending an HP to get an effective 30 on her Will save, because mind games are her thing!
  2. I just so folks know, if Lulu talks to you telepathically, you don't hear any accent. Her mental communication acts as a sort of universal translator, so I imagine that gets stripped clean.
  3. Lulu held her position for a minute, trying to figure out the situation; now there were three figures all together, and things seemed to be getting weirder. Deciding she needed a closer look, Lulu's eyes went a bit out of focus as she projected her senses over towards the threesome. After a few seconds, she quickly got the sense they might be heroes; maybe she was drawn this way to help them out? The telepath shrugged as she reached out to the girl as tentatively as she could. -Hello, can you hear me? My name's Crystal-Gazer, and my powers led me to you. I sense that someone's in trouble, and I'd like to help.-
  4. After a good fifteen minutes of mindless, wonderful dancing with a good friend, Lynn felt like taking a break; not because she was tired (in truth, she had more than enough energy to keep going), but because she realized that more than anything, she wanted to talk to someone about what was going on. Pointing back towards their table, she shouted over the music. "Let's sit a few out! We haven't talked in ages!" Once they were off the floor, she signaled their waitress for another round. "Oh, that felt good! But I do feel like chatting a bit, if you're up for it. I could use a little help processing all of this."
  5. In this moment, Lulu quickly realized the limitations of her mental powers when facing a threat; she had no ability to inflict any sort of physical harm to the possessed boy, not that she was eager to hurt poor dumb idiot Sam. So all she could really do at this point was double down on her stun and hope she could set up one of the others to dish out the pain. "Stay down, you evil bastard!"

    Checking In

The young redheaded giggled and stamped her feet in delight. "Ah knew it! Ain't no one too good not to press the advantage if they got it!" This seemed to warm Lulu's heart, and she continued to enjoy her food with great relish. Once their entrees arrived, Lulu looked down and hers, shook her head and whistled. "Oh my lord; this one's almost too pretty to eat!" But she got over that fast enough and tucked in. A few mouthfuls into it, she grew philosophical. "Do you think this all part of a plan, us gettin' powers? Did the good Lord make us this way, set us on this path? Or do you think it's just random happenstance?"
  7. In response to Mr. Strix' comment, the changeling grimaced slightly; when she spoke, it was with a wisdom and gravity that didn't quite match her sprite-like appearance. "My apologies; rightly or wrongly, it was rude and inconsiderate of me to make assumptions." When he spoke of Hawthorne, Grim shook her head. "No murders back in Freedom, but theft and property damage in the quest for dark power. Whoever or whatever this Hawthorne is, he's gone to great lengths to collect the volumes he desires, though I'm not sure if the man I saw back home is the original."
  8. Guess I'll go for another stun? It's really her only direct attack. Another DC 20 Will save.
  9. Grim felt sick to her stomach; this bore all the trappings of some antedeluvian elder gods sh##, of which she was not a fan. Clear signs of passion becoming obsession, as old dark magic tended to go. And then the joker in white showed up to pull a jumpscare; it was hard to sneak up on a changeling, so when Grim jumpeed and clutched her chest, she was being completely sincere. "Jesus f###ing Christ, why would you do something like that?!" Then she paused for a moment and squinted as she recalled an old teammate who once used a similar approach. "Wait a sec. Deathly palor, super-sneaky, voice from beyond the grave...are you a vampire? Because I've worked with them before, with to be honest, mixed results, though I try to keep an open mind." The fae extended a hand and smiled. "I'm Grimalkin, Mistress of Mystery; nice to meecha."
  10. Lulu's feelings towards Sam rapidly shifted from concern to disgust and finally to abject fear; what had these horny idiots brought into the world? Could they even save him at this point? But of course, they had to try. At first, the young telepath worried that her powers might not be of any use in this situation; she racked her brain, trying to remember any scrap of knowledge about how psychic powers interacted with the infernal. As far as she could recall, they should work, but she had to be careful to avoid creating an open link between herself and the demon. Unconsciously still in character, she raised her wand and levelled it at the poor boy as she shouted out, "Get out of his head!" Then she fired a psychic blast into Sam's mind.
  11. I think she's going to try and use Stun, on the Sleep setting. DC 20 Will save.
  12. Does Lulu know through her Arcane Lore if mental effects work on demons? Her fear is that her powers may be useless against the infernal.
  13. Lulu positively beamed. "Why ah'd love to." Astrid and her friends had opted to play something a bit more uptempo than she would have prefered, but maybe it was good they didn't start with a slow dance. The young redhead had no formal dance training, so she just sort of bopped along to the music, making random punching moves and throwing in the occasional spin because it did fun things to her dress; it was rather silly and utterly endearing. Then despite her best efforts, she snuck a quick peek into her date's mind; she furrowed her brow for a second, then shook her head and smiled as she continued her semi-awkward dancing. "Adam, you worry too much. Ah like you; you don't need to try and be somethin' you're not." She shrugged. "Boys...have thoughts; hell, we all do. Ah've been a telepath since ah was ten years old; there ain't too much that can shock me anymore. Ah know you've got your secrets, and those are yours to share if and when you want; ah know not to open any doors your keepin' locked." Then she paused in her dancing, reached up and placed a soft hand on his faintly scarred cheek. She shook her head; there were hints of tears in her eyes, but she was smiling. "But you don't need to be perfect; you just need to be you. So let lose...be yourself. No one's watchin' but me." And with that, she let out a whoop and returned to her energetic flailing.
  14. "Here's hoping there's no silent alarm...," Lynn muttered to herself as she looked up and down the street for any witnesses. Seeing none, she quickly changed into Grimalkin, whom then faded from view as she approached the wall. Flicking out her ebon claws, she effortlessly scaled the wall. Once she got to the open window, she climbed in, returning to the world of the visible as she got her bearings inside, dreading what she might find.

  16. Lulu enjoyed Halloween; back home in Columbia, there was an annual haunted house called 'Columbia Manor' which, though small, packed a lot of spooky fun into its tiny lot. Maybe some day if she became a famous hero, she could could go back home and use her powers to add a few scares. But for now, she was content to dangle her legs over the arm of a sofa as she savored another mouthful of Reese's Pieces, her all-time favorite candy. She was dressed as Ginny Weasley, complete with Hogwarts robe, Gryffindor tie and an ash wand, which she used to trace glowing 'magical symbols' in the air. Then Sam Thorm burst into the room, and she nearly choked on her peanut butter candy as she suddenly sat up to see what was going on. "Everythin' okay there, Sam?"
  17. Lynn did not enjoy commercial air travel; it was boring, claustrophobic and expensive. She missed her powers of flight and teleportation, which she had to sacrifice to help Gretchen escape from a black pit of despair over the summer, though admittedly neither would have helped her today. To pass the time, she started Googling the requirements for getting a pilot's license in the States and the costs for small aircraft, because she was not going through this BS again. Yet somehow, as horrible as the series of flights to get to Bedlam were, the cab ride to the bookstore was even worse; it was clear it was a city without hope, like the worst parts of Detroit, East St. Louis and Gary, Indiana combined. Halfway though the ride, she mutely held up a conjured sign that read 'Please Kill Me', an apparently sincere request judging from her crestfallen expression. At last, the four heroes found themselves in front of the building, irritable and tired at their final destination. Stretching to get a kink out of her back, the changeling then shrugged. "Okay, I'll give it a shot." She strode foward and firmly rapped her knuckles on the door, her faerie ears straining to hear any sort of reaction from within.

  19. In the past, HS was run by criminal/vampire management, corrrect? Maybe we're scoping out the new owners to see if they're legit? Also, gambling is fun! Edit: forgot Lynn has actually been there twice before; I'll reread both threads.
  20. So am I correct in understanding that all three PCs are travelling seperately? If so, Grim will just purchase a single business class ticket like a normal person.
