Wait, didn't Aquaria go right before Diamondlight?
-
No, you are more like a fine sirloin steak Seriously though, I did say 'others welcome' in the tags for a reason; we've chatted a bit, but have yet to move forward with anything concrete. Let's do it!

I could be wrong, but I don't think I've ever done a thread with Comrade Frost, and I've always wanted to!

Hey gang! It occurs to me that Grimalkin and the Shrike have mostly been doing social threads recently, and I miss seeing them in action. I'm up for pretty much anything, though they tend to favor mystical/magical issues to deal with, though they're both pretty flexible. I would happily see them team up with other heroes as well.

Casey came back from a quick bathroom break to see the chatroom had exploded with activity, which startled her, but in a good way. "Oh my goodness, look at all the people!" Though as problems went, this was a good one to have. It only took about a second to catch up on all the posts, but her responses required a bit more thought. She also had a suspicion as to 'StarGirl's' identity, which made her smile.

Just above the surface of the water, Casey's eyes went wide with surprise at Aquaria's dramatic entrance; where'd she even come from? But then her gaze darted over to the sharp-dressed man, and she instantly knew; the benevolent Deep One was using herself as a distraction to give the stranger a chance to escape, though Casey had a feeling his appearance wasn't nearly as 'accidental' as he claimed to be. And now Aquaria herself was at risk due to her bravery! Suddenly Miracle Girl shot out of the water with a massive splash, her body glowing like a golden sun as she shouted out a defiant "Hey!" She landed in the middle of the group of thugs with lasers in a graceful crouch, then grinned like a mischievous cat. "Hi guys! Mind if I join you for a little workout?" Then in a matter of seconds, the blonde heroine spun through a blizzard of taekwondo kicks, punches and strikes, each one delivered with precise speed, power and placement. Casey was no killer; even the thought of seriously injuring her enemies was painful to her, so she was always careful to use just the right amount of strength applied to the perfect spot. The four criminals dropped like sacks of potatoes, their energy weapons clattering to the deck. Then Miracle Girl turned to Aquaria and waved, beaming like a goofy kid. "Hey!"

To Hit #1: 18 To Hit #2: 27 To Hit #3: 26 Biff! Pow! Thump!
-
Unarmed to Hit roll: 24 - bam! That's a DC 25 Toughness save.
-
You know what, we'll see if we can do this; Casey wants to plunk herself down amongst the laser minions and knock out as many a she can with her fists.
-
Casey has Takedown Attack; are any of the minions close enough to take on several of them?
-
Am I up next then? If so, will have a post up by tonight.

Her homework done for the night, Casey Blankenship (aka Miracle Girl) had decided it was a good night for flying; sometimes she flew over the city itself, typically stopping to enjoy the view of the bay from the top of the Centurion Statue, but other times she was in the mood to enjoy natural beauty, like the endless trees of the Pine Barrens or the restless majesty of the Atlantic. Tonight she was over the ocean, high above the coastline, when she heard a very strange sound she'd never heard before; a mechanical rumbling seemingly coming from under the ground! She stopped in the air for a few seconds to sweep her gaze over the area in question, and was stunned to see a hidden cave she'd never noticed before; even more shocking was the presence of a submarine in said cave! Her quick glance told her something wasn't right, so she allowed herself to drop, with perfect high dive form, several hundred feet straight into the water below. The blonde heroine allowed her momentum to take her down deep, all the better to swim well below the surface as she approached the cave entrance. As she got closer, she noticed a sharply-dressed figure creeping along the shore: tall, male, mid-thirties. He didn't carry himself like a fighter, or at least not like a close combat specialist, and all he had on his person were his wallet, phone and a set of keys; a reporter, then, or a very confident spy? Unsure if he was friend or foe, Casey continued to quietly swim closer, with only her eyes and the top of her head visible above the surface. Once she had a better idea of the man's intentions, she would make herself known, one way or another.

One possible though it that Aquaria invited Casey out for a night swim? With her Life Support and Swimming +13 she might even be able to keep up! Or alternately one or the other heard about it, and reached out to the other for support.
-
Also helps that Casey and Aquaria have worked together in the past; I'd don't know if they'd count as full-on 'friends', but they know each other and respect each others' abilities.
-
I happily offer Miracle Girl, if you two are willing.

Ditra's jaw dropped in horror at the state of old Terra; assuming the planet's population was anywhere near what it was in their own universe (roughly 7.6 billion sapient lifeforms, not including all the other intelligent life the humans so often disregarded), this could only be classified as world-killing mass extinction. She had trouble even forming words. "Who...who would do such a thing? Sucking the life out of a beautiful living world for selfish enterprise?"

Casey's eyes widened at this bizzare revelation. "So we're talking about...like a checking account with debit cards and everything? Wow!" In a way, it was both amusing and frightening to think of invading aliens setting up bank accounts to fund their operations here on Earth, but it made sense; you couldn't just give them bags of gold to pay for things. "Now when you say they're going to be at our show, and I assume your intel is good, do you think they'll be in the audience, or actually participating?" She moved over to her own bed so she could lean closer to Daphne and whisper, "Is it one of my sorority sisters?"

Casey wrinkled her nose at Svarog's question; apparently she hadn't explained her powers well enough. She was about to respond when several more people signed into the chat, which was pretty darn cool. #general #herostuff

Casey took a sip from her water bottle as she read over LittleMissTerrific's posts; three very intriguing cases! "Interesting..." Then she set aside her water bottle, adhusted her glasses and began to rapidly type. In #general: In #herostuff

As much as she hated to admit it, Casey was kind of glad that her roommate had left school; not that she hadn't (mostly) gotten along with Maria, but it just made the heroic side of her life easier. Like tonight, she could just flip open her MacBook and log into her friend Terrifica's website, create a user profile (after much thought, she'd settled on 'GSCookie', or just 'Cookie' for short) and get ready to chat without- There was a rapid knock on her dorm room door; a quick glace through the wood revealed her sorority sisters Lola and Steph, two of her favorite Pis, dressed to go outside. Casey herself was only wearing an oversized FCU jersey and her favorite pair of sleepy pants. "It's open," she called out. She never locked the door; between her x-ray vision and super-speed, she always had time to hide anything suspicious, plus locking your door made people think you actually had something to hide. Lola and Steph practically spilled into the room in their enthusiasm, which brought a smile to Casey's face; the two couldn't be more different on paper (quirky nerd and outgoing athlete), yet somehow they'd bonded almost immediately. "Hey guys! What's up?" Steph adjusted her glasses and looked to her roomie. "Well, Lola and I were online trolling neckbeards on Reddit-" "So much fun!" "When I got a notification in my school email about a late night sushi place that opened not five blocks from our current location." "Three magic words," the happy jock said as she counted off on her fingers. "All. You. Can. Eat." "Technically, that's four," the blonde heroine responded with a grin as she wagged a finger at Lola. "Well, yeah, I mean, it's...look, it's not a frickin' math test, okay? It's all you can eat sushi! Now are you in or out, Case?" Casey sighed dramatically. "As much as I'd love to help you eat a sushi place out of business, I can't." She shrugged and indicated her laptop with a nod of her head. "I've still got work to do." Lola blinked for a few seconds in stunned silence while Steph frowned slightly. "This is unlimited food, Case; you never say no to unlimited food." "Yeah; isn't that, like, against your religion or somethin'?" "Are you ill?" Steph attempted to place her hand on Casey's forehead, but she playfully slapped it away. "I'm fine, just a little busy, that's all. But thanks for thinking of me and my bottomless stomach. Now go, pig out and have fun!" She made a shooing motion, then turned back to her laptop. After making all sorts of exaggerated pleading expressions that Casey pointedly ignored, at last the pair left, carefully closing the door behind them. "Peace and quiet at last," she muttered to herself as she finished setting up her user profile with a flurry of keystrokes. "Aaaand, we're in! Enter."

What about Miss Grue? She's PL10, and worked with both Terrifica and Miracle Girl. -
Oh my God, that's awful! So sorry to hear about your terrible loss. Take all the time you need; we'll be here for you.
