I'm using this website to track my calores and such to help me lose. I entered in Casey's order: over 2200 calores. Late night snack indeed! I figure she's probably on the Barry Allen 'I need to eat 10,000 calores a day' diet.

The place was definitely a 'dive', as Casey's dad would say, but she really didn't care; she was hanging out with her fellow Pis, and nothing could dim her mood. Back at Claremont, she really only had Sakuraku as a friend, because most of the other students didn't share her values, but at Pi Epsilon Delta, all the girls got excited about volunteering. Sure, they all had different motivations for doing so, but all the sisters were excited to pitch in. At PED, she finally felt like she fit in, and she couldn't be more excited. Like Lola, she couldn't help but notice their waitress's amazing eyes, though her thoughts were less focused on the bedroom (Lola was an incorrigible flirt) and more on what powers she might have. With eyes like that, she might have have special vision like she did, but you never know! Hearing the East Asian girl pronounce her name in proper Japanese, she attempted to use a bit of her own knowledge of that wonderful language, on the off-chance she spoke it, too. "Hi! Konbanwa." She bowed slightly in the booth, like the huge dork she was, but her pronunciation was actually pretty good. "I will have....the three by three by three? Eggs scrambled, with American cheese, with the pancakes and wheat toast...aaaand a side of grits! Oh, and a coffee and a large OJ, please. Thank you! Domo arigato!" Her smile as she handed back her menu was a wonder to behold. "Damn, girl," cried Lola as she looked Casey up and down appreciatively. "Why don't you order some more food?" "Well, I'm not that hungry," Casey protested, comically missing the point. "Just a late night snack." The other girls laughed uproariously, to the tall blonde's bemusement; they all knew she was hopelessly square, and they loved her for it. The rest of the party placed their orders as well: grilled cheese with fries and a Sprite for Darlene, a double cheeseburger with everything, fries and a Coke for Lola, and a tuna melt with fries and a hot tea for Stephanie. "Oh, and we'll start with four egg nogs, per your suggestion," chimed in Lola with a wink and a cheeky smile for Moe. "Oh, yes, please, I almost forgot! 'Tis the season!"

Casey Blankenship, Darlene Lampwick, Lola Carbone and Stephanie Kowalski, four Pi Episoln Delta sisters from FCU, were flying down Broadway; they had just gotten out of the Friday night show of Wicked at the Imperial, which meant they were running around like idiots, arms outstretched and singing as loud as they could. The locals had seen it a thousand times before, and knew to drive with caution. "Sorry," Casey called out apologetically as she narrowly jumped out of the way of a car. Of course if it had hit her, it was much more likely to have totalled the car than do any more than scratch her, but she still felt bad for not being more careful. Then she turned to her sorority sisters. "So, what now? The night's still young." Lola scratched the back of her head and grimmaced. "Well, I gotta tell ya, I could eat." The likable athlete from Boston was the most informally dressed of all the girls, basically just wearing her cleanest sweats. "You're always hungry," chuckled Steph as she wiped her glasses on her black peacoat; she was a bit aloof, but once you got to know her, there was a generous heart behind her dry wit. "Well, I wouldn't say 'no' to a nice grilled cheese and a coke," admitted Darlene, who by far put the most thought into picking out her wardrobe tonight. Her father was the one who got them the tickets, and she was always well turned out. The wealthy blonde turned to Casey and shrugged. "What about you, darlin', what do you want to do?" Casey smiled as she sheepishly adjusted her glasses; she wasn't one for dresses, but she'd picked out her nicest jeans and sweater. "I...could eat." - - - The girls were laughing loudly as they entered Joe's; on the walk over, they'd all taken an online 'Which Wicked Character Are You?' quiz on their phones, with mixed reactions to the results. "How come it says I'm Galinda," Darlene protested. "Just 'cause I'm blonde? Hell, Casey's blonde, too, and she didn't get Galinda!" "We can't have two Elphebas," Steph stated matter-of-fact. "Casey, you and I have to retake this and change our answers a bit." The four girls stood near the front counter, waiting to be seated; both Casey and Lola were clearly wearing 'Greek gear'.

Hi gang! Cool Homosapien and I are looking for a GM to possibly run a thread idea we had to introduce our characters Sensus and Miracle Girl. The set-up is this: Sensus works at Joe's Diner, a legendary greasy spoon in the Fens just across Broadway from the Theatre District. It's the type of place where hip young theatergoers might go after a show for breakfast and coffee after midnight. Casey and three of her NPC sorority sisters head over to Joe's after catching a touring company of 'Wicked'. While they're there, thugs of some kind show up to menace the place. The thing if it is, Casey can't reveal her secret identity in front of her roomies, so anything she does will need to be very subtle. Moe on the other hand won't be so restricted. This is less of a pure combat thread and more an interesting way for them to meet, plus endangered civilians! Anyone interested?

PI EPSILON DELTA Alpha Chapter, FCU Founded: October 27th, 1905 (Freedom City University, Freedom City, NJ) Sorority Type: Social Emphasis: Traditional Values and Sisterhood Scope: National Motto: Patebit Tum Quod Latuit That Which Is Hidden Shall Be Revealed Colors: Blue and White Symbol: Tower Flower: Evening Primrose Jewel: Moonstone Publication: The Tower Philanthropy: Various and extensive Chapters: 50 Mascot: Owl: Wisdom and strength Alpha Chapter Senior Officers: Rivian St. Clair, President Janine Maitland, Vice President Isabella Vasquez, Secretary Class of 2021, West Gables Housing Unit: Casey Blankenship, Journalism. Casey is an athletic blonde from Colorado. A former Girl Scout, she's very outdoorsy and into environmental causes. Caucasian. Lola Carbone, Engineering. A very out lesbian from Boston, came to FCU on a basketball scholarship. Very direct and to the point, but fun-loving. Caucasian. Crystal Henshaw, Psychology. Very open and expressive, but easily overwhelmed by negativity. Originally from Cleveland, OH. African-American. Stephanie Kowalski, Political Science. A complicated girl from a well-connected family in Philadelphia. Loves chess and video games, also a former Girl Scout. Caucasian. Darlene Lampwick, Pre-Law. A flirty Southern belle from Atlanta, third generation Legacy. Outgoing blonde who is smarter than she looks. Caucasian. Elizabeth Scanlon, Pre-Med. A borderline Goth from Jersey City with a morbid sense of humor. Kinda gross. Likes to be called ‘Scanner’ for some weird reason. Caucasian. May Yuen, Economics. Comes from a wealthy family in Arlington, VA. Very driven and success-oriented, doesn't socialize much. Chinese-American. West Gables Room Key: A: Lola and Stephanie’s Room. Small room at the end of the hall, with two closets. Steph doesn't use the desk here because it's too small; instead, she set up her custom PC in the Quiet Study Area (Room B). Lola has set up a chin-up bar in her closet, just inside the room; she also put a Nerf basketball hoop across from her bed. B: Quiet Study Area. Features two desks (one of which has been permanently claimed by Steph), well-stocked bookshelves and four leather reading chairs. Cozy. ? Darlene and May's Room. Cleanest room on the floor, fairly girly in terms of décor. Both closets are full of expensive, fashionable clothes. Darlene and May spend very little time here; the former is typically out socializing, the latter at the library studying. ?Common Room. The ‘living room’ of the West Gables, with two leather sofas, a coffee table, a wall-mounted flatscreen TV and three game systems (the latest PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo models). There's also a small dorm fridge and microwave. Always smells of nachos, ramen or microwave popcorn. E: Crystal and Elizabeth's Room. Two girls, one closet; not a great situation. This room has a split personality, one half clean and pleasant, the other dank and hostile, and the ‘dank side’ is winning. ‘Scanner’ rarely leaves her room, leaving the non-confrontational Crystal to wander around the rest of housing unit. F: Showers. The windows here look over the courtyard, but the glass is all frosted for privacy. Always slightly funky, despite the best efforts of the house cleaning staff. G: Bathroom. Eight young women sharing one communal bathroom makes for a lot of chaos, especially on Friday or Saturday nights. There's a locked closet of some kind on the right hand wall, but no one knows where the key is at the moment. The windows are also frosted in here. H: Stairwell. A beautiful old stairwell rises up the whole height of the chapter house, topped with an elegant stained glass dome. A vintage elevator, with sliding metal gate and brass fixtures, allows students to ride with comfort. I: Main Hallway. The hallways are all carpeted to minimize noise on the floor at night. Pictures of former ‘Pis’ from decades past line the walls, laughing, singing or marching in long-forgotten protests, creating a sense of nostalgia and/or melancholy in the more sensitive. J: Casey's Room. A very tidy room, with only one bed occupied. The walls are covered with maps of national parks, nature photography and images of planes. There is also a highly-detailed FAA map of the area around Freedom City, with all airports and flight paths clearly marked. The desk and dresser are encrusted with various bits of Girl Scouts memorabilia. K: Kitchen. A well-stocked food preparation area, with two full stoves, two full-sized fridges, two microwaves and a large double sink. There's plenty of counter space, a small table with three chairs, and two vending machines, one for drinks, the other for snacks. An espresso machine and coffee maker make this a busy area on weekday mornings. Also used as an alternate ‘hang out’ space. L: Dining Hall. A large communal dining area with long tables right out of Hogwarts. Sometimes used as an alternate study area. The gas fireplace still works, which is a good thing, because the old tile floor is always freezing. M: Fire Door: Opening this door sets off the fire alarm; beyond it is a disused ballroom, various storerooms and ultimately the East Gables housing unit.

Clearly Gretch is using her Move Object to knock the door open; not sure if any kind of roll is needed, but obviously she's not using anywhere near her full Strength 50 to open it. -

Gretchen shook her head and said in a tone that would brook no argument, "No. You get the police. I'll take care of this." Then she turned to address the door, feet firmly planted. "We are coming in." She didn't raise her voice or bellow it, just made a statement in a clear, firm voice. And then she held up her left hand about waist high, fingers spread, and a force slammed into the bolted door. The young heroine had no intention of blasting the door off its hinges, so she only used a fraction of her power; in her mind, she pictured two linebackers from the New England Patriots charging at the door, shoulders raised for maximum impact. Hopefully she wouldn't damage any innocents on the other side. -

By any chance is Gretchen's Danger Sense going off? it's visual based, so I can understand if the door blocks it. -

At the sound of a struggle, Gretchen's eyes narrowed; the young barista was far from a combat veteran, and she'd only been doing the superhero thing for a little while, but even though her girlfriend was rightly dismissive of their computer gaming source, she actually had pretty good instincts when it came to sensing trouble. You don't play first person shooters for years in a darkened room wearing headphones without learning something about combat. When the sounds didn't stop right away, Gretch quickly moved towards the bathroom, sparing the girl at the table a quick glance before rapping sharply on the door with her knuckle. "Everything all right in there? It sounds like someone fell." -

At this point it might be smartest to move forward, so we can regain some momentum.

Normally one might expect to hear murmured conversation after one leaves a room, but Lynn and Gretchen were anything but a normal couple, so there was no trace of any mental conversation that might have taken once Moira left the room. But apparently something was discussed, because a few minutes later, there was a gentle knock onthe guest room door. "Hey. It's me." Lynn opened the door and leaned on the frame; despite her still somewhat red eyes, she seemed almost herself again. "So yeah, we're gonna try it your way. Gretchen says giving you a chance to run the shop for a week would do a lot to rebuild her trust. Especially since it it gives us a chance to, y'know-" And here the changeling made a fairly obscene gesture. "Gretch says it's a good thing I don't have to breathe, because...well..." Then the young barista joined her lover in the doorway, and put an arm around her shapely waist before sternly addressing the former goddess. "I will leave a detailed list of instructions. I expect you to flirt aggressively with anything that moves, so I better see a marked increase in sales while we're gone. As far as sleeping with staff goes, try to keep it to a minimum, except when it comes to Merge. She's a duplicator and I don't care if she lives or dies, so...have fun with that." "And on that note," a laughing Lynn said as she pulled her girlfriend away. "We need to get to bed; got an early day ahead of us." "I'm afraid you are mistaken. I will be going to bed. You will be sleeping with the ferrets. You're still on my list." "Fine, I'll freeze my ass off with the ferrets..." "You don't even get cold..." And with that, they left Moira alone with her thoughts.

As Agent Warne had predicted, Miracle Girl did indeed shortly return to their ranks. "Okay, the Browns are giving their testimony and getting some hot tea; let's finish this." As she focused her amazing eyes on the path ahead, the blonde powerhouse shook her head. "I have to say, I'm stumped as to who our masked kidnapper is; either someone we already suspect is acting very much out of character, or there's a third party we don't know about involved in all of this." Casey sighed and cracked her knuckles, a truly impressive sound. "Anyway, I'll be happy when were all done with this business." Suddenly a though hit her, and she turned to the weird clown in their midst. "Punchline, when this is all over, what are you going to do? Are you going to be okay? Like, do you have a place to live and everythng?"

I vote Miracle Girl!

By the time Moira made it back into the apartment, she found her two roommates on the floor, leaning up against the sofa; they were holding each other tightly, eyes squeezed shut, their foreheads gently touching. Lynn's eyes and nose were red from crying, and a few tears were visible on Gretchen's cheeks as well. It was not too hard to guess they were in intense mental conversation. After a few seconds, Lynn looked up and wiped her eyes with the ball of her hand. "Hey. Uh..." She paused and looked around blankly for a few moments, attempting to gather her thoughts. Gretchen looked up at the former goddess with dark eyes, apparently not happy about the intrusion into their private moment. "We're gonna need a few days...to, y'know, work this out." The changeling blinked and sniffed. "I'll shutter the store up, y'know, put up some signs." She waved a hand around vaguely. "You can stay here...uh, help yourself to what's in the fridge." Lynn abruptly stopped and met her girlfriend's intense gaze. "Wr-write down...what you eat; like, keep track of it, so..." She trailed off, idly running her fingers through Gretchen's hair. For her part, the young barista was still glaring at Moira; this was not a look of rage or fury, but rather more protective, as a dog might give you if you approach his bowl as he eats. Stay. Back.
-
Gretchen simply stared at Moira's hand for several seconds, head cocked to one side with avian scrutiny. Finally she rose to her feet, and twisted the Ring of Power, returning her clothes to her normal civilian identity. Now wearing Doc Martens, ragged jeans and an Army fatigue jacket, she turned her back to the former goddess, arms crossed tightly across her chest. "My father left my mother when he found out she was pregnant. She was a college student struggling through law school at Columbia University. Both her parents were gone, and she didn't talk with her only sister, my aunt Caroline. She raised me alone, with the help of a few school friends. Once she passed the bar, she took me home to Portland. She dated here and there, but there was never anyone who stayed around long enough to be a father. We were alone...but we were unstoppable." The young barista paused to compose herself; it was the most talking Moira had ever seen her do in the month she'd lived with her. "The winter I turned fourteen, my mother was killed driving home in an ice storm. It was decided I would move to Freedom to live with Caroline, a woman I barely knew. She's a musician, like me. She introduced me to a lot of great music, but she was never there for me when I needed her. Staying out all night with her boyfriends, every promise broken. She kept me alive, I guess, and for that I am grateful." Finally she turned to face Moira, and took a step closer to her. "Lynn is the one person in my life who's always been here, who kept her promises. That is why I love her, and why we are together." Gretch paused to look her fellow superheroine up and down. "You can stay here, or not. If you give me time, I may forgive you. I cannot say if we'll ever be friends. I usually don't like friendly people, with one notable exception. But I'll forgive her, because I understand." And here she paused to wet her lips, eyes downcast. "I've...wanted to be with you since the first time I laid eyes on you. Who wouldn't? You have an easy sexuality, uncomplicated by guilt or logic. It just...is. So I understand." Gretch took a deep breath, and finally looked back into Moira's eyes. "I need to go. I need to be with her, to let her know it's okay. See you around." And with that, she hopped off the roof down to the patio, and headed inside.
-
Gretchen squeezed her eyes shut, and continued to stand were she was, fist clenched and body rigid. The amount of emotions flowing through her right now was agonizing; she did not like this feeling, being so out of control. Then she opened her eyes and sighed. "I have to ask you a question. But first I have to talk to Lynn, and let her know that we are all right." Then she had a seat on the edge of the roof, closed her eyes and took several deep breaths. -We are not over. I love you more than you can ever know. We will work through this. Take deep breaths. Drink some cold water. Splash some on your face. We are fine. You are loved. I will be down soon.- Gretchen knew her lover well; she knew how her mind worked, and all about the swirling mercurial emotions just below the surface. She would not be able to respond to these sendings, because she would be crying, but at least now, they would be tears of relief. When she opened her eyes to speak to Moira, there was a hint of smile on her lips, because she knew that she and Lynn were going to be okay. But her eyes were still sharp and angry. "Okay. You said that 'Lynn is a part of my heart.' Explain that to me. What exactly does my girlfriend mean to you?"
-
"M'good!
-
Gretchen just stared at Moira, her intense dark blue eyes burning, though her face was taught and expressionless. At last, the younger woman spoke. "You could have asked. You could have said, 'Gretchen, your girlfriend is beautiful. I've known her for years, but now that she's in touch with her sexuality, I can't stop thinking about her. Would you object to me spending some time with her?' And then Lynn and I could have talked about it, like adults, and I probably would have said 'yes,' after setting up some guidelines." And then her voice got very tight, and tiny tears began to form in her eyes. "Because I do not own her. She has a right to be happy, and to explore herself. She is...a light that I could not hope to contain. That I would never want to contain. Because she...is love. And now the woman I love thinks I hate her for cheating on me, because you did not give us a choice. As two people. As adults." The tears were flowing quite freely now, her fists tightly clenched. "Why would you do that? Why would you make her think that about me?"
