I for one would be delighted to see Rene; he was the first hero Grim met coming back to Freedom in 2014, but other than a brief chat at Silberman's grand reopening, she never saw him again.

Could everyone else tag in with who you are playing here?

Sorry for the lack of any scene-setting dialogue in that first post; I was exhausted last night and that's all I could muster. I'll add a bit today when I get the chance.

JR's Family Farm and Corn Maze, Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Saturday, September 23rd, 2017. Shortly before 10:00 pm The Richardson family had given the heroes the use of their barn for this initial planning session; Emily Richardson had been nice enough to provide coffee, donuts and several lanterns, but Grimalkin, 'the Mistress of Mystery', had conjured up the long table and a dozen chairs that currently occupied the center of the barn. She'd also playfully decorated the place with colorful streamers, cobwebs and a few skeletons. The barn was redolent with the smells of farm animals and hay. Grouped at one end of the table were three figures; two of them were instantly recognizable by those who knew Freedom City's heroes, but the third, not so much. Grimalkin and her partner in all things the Shrike were joined by an older man in a wheelchair with a gray ponytail who wore a mask made from a black bandana with eyeholes cut in it, but otherwise wore well-worn denim and a pair of black Doc Martins. All of them were enjoying a cup of coffee, waiting for the others to arrive. After a few minutes of waiting, the older man checked his watch and sighed dramatically. "So how late do you think this meeting will go? You know your mom doesn't like me out late on Saturdays." "'Butch', can you please ixnay on the ecret identity-say? Some heroes are paranoid; they might be casing the joint invisibily to see if its a trap." Butch looked around nervously. "Oh, right...hadn't thought of that. 'Loose lips', am I right?" "Exactly." A few minutes later, the older civilian cleared. "Look, if I'm gonna join you on your adventures, can I at least get a utility belt or something? I don't have super-cool powers like you and your girlfriend here." "Dad, I'm not gonna get you a utility belt; you'd...try to use the laser blowtorch and burn the house down." Butch sniffed and folded his arms. "Fine, just let the bad guys take your old man hostage, then!" "Dad, just...ooh!" No said anything for several minutes until Gretchen reached out with her mental link. -You two are adorable.- -Quiet, you!-

Okay, so by tonight I will have a thread open in the Americas section; the interested PCs will meet at the farm to brainstorm, demonstrate powers, and then we'll see where we go from there.
-
Wow, lots of interest! I will try to have something a bit more definite up here by the end of the weekend, with an actual thread up before the end of next week.

So Miss Grue and MG each get a free action before the init order begins?

UPGRADED by Fox So I had 6PP to spend (not sure why it was marked as 15, but no big whoop), which allowed me to improve Ditra's ComPac as follows: I think all the math adds up right, and kudos to Rav for suggesting Linked Limited Quickness for Datalink!

So Dragonball Z looked to be the team healer. Lynn's limited experince in rpgs confirmed what Scion was saying: take out the orc shaman (or whoever) and it was easier to take out the enemy war party. His hide looked pretty thick, so this looked like a job for her frenzied dark faerie strength. A low growl began somewhere near the wagon; it sounded something like a mountain lion, and it sounded pissed, but nothing could be seen. Suddenly Grimalkin appeared out of nowhere, night black claws out and eyes wild with rage! In a flash, she was upon the spellcaster, viciously slashing at her with her talons. It was a surprisingly ferocious attack, and not something anyone saw coming. -
I will post tonight Grim's IC actions tonight.

Does Omnidirectional help with Datalink? I am adding it to her two Communication powers.
-
I had been thinking of giving her Quickness (Limited to Mental tasks) as a separate power, but to be honest it was mostly going to be for computer use, so that's a strong possibility!
-
I'm working on a pretty major edit on my Nameless character, mostly boosting her Communications Package by adding stuff to Mental Communication and its APs. As a consequence of this, I'll have 6 PP to add to her Datalink AP, but I'm not sure what to do with them. I have a few ideas, but I'm not sure if they're any good or street legal here at FC:PbP. 1. Adding another rank of Subtle. This seems like an easy one, and will probably happen. It would be her only power with Subtle 2. 2. Independent. In a sense, she sets up a subroutine to handle hacking while she's doing something else. Probably fairly broken/not allowed. 3. Insidious. Might this make evidence of her hacking harder to detect? 4. Cyberspace. This might be fun, but I'm unclear on what the IC and OOC benefits there are to doing this, though I assume Miss A does. Those are the four I could come up with on my own; any help would be appreciated!

The Nameless diplomat had perhaps foolishly assumed that when she'd heard the Speaker for Dotrae would be part of this mission that she would be working with the familiar bulk of Dol-Druth; the two telepaths were hardly friends, but there was at least a certain familiarity in their dealings. His replacement, however, was as communicative as a carbon rod. At least Sitara made for good company; between the Earthwoman's millennia of experience and her own extensive databanks, they had a lot to talk about, and the conversation was lively and wide-ranging. The green-skinned cyborg took the opportunity to exercise her knowledge of Terran languages by speaking to the Praetorian in her native Sanskrit (Ditra's accent was flawless), a very rare treat indeed for both sentients. But now that they were approaching their destination, the Councillor was all business; her armor and weapons were all beneath her synthetic skin, so she opted to wear a simple white bodysuit with matching boots. Her mass of dark green curls bobbed slightly as she nodded. "We're all good," she stated in crisp Galstandard. In response to the Speaker's query, she nodded once again. "It might be a good idea. They've been running for their lives; we don't want to give them any more reason to feel threatened."

Ditra was seeing the same early results stream across the bottom of her vision, so in a sense, she was not surprised when the Speaker opened a line of mental communication in the next few seconds. ~We have few things in place; obviously we hoped our candidate would win, but we always knew it was a longshot.~ The Nameless agent paused for a few moments to gather her thoughts and do a bit of fact checking and make a few discrete inquiries before continuing. ~While I cannot speak with complete authority for our entire hive - our race lacks the depth of immediate communication Dotrae possesses - I think it's safe to say that we are very interested in the possibilities such an alliance might offer.~ The green-skinned beauty allowed a shiver to pass through her body as her gaze darted this way and that. ~There are few things more dangerous than a people seeking security in uncertain times.~

I think it's time for Grim to show her wild side and induce her Rage! Following tradition, she will attempt to drop het Concealment and take out the healer with her Claws. 1d20+12=14 ...once again, Orokos laughs at me! DC 27 Toughness save if that connects.

Casey hadn't heard Max's song before, but it was a funky little toe-tapper, and when she finished she clapped, whooped and whistled enthusiastically. Not seeing anyone else heading up to the mic, the blonde heroine finally bit her lip and nodded to herself. "You know what, I'll go next; I've got a fun one." She had a quick whispered consultation with the DJ, who gave her a big smile and a thumbs up. Her requested so approved, Miracle Girl bent her knees and leaped on the stage in a graceful arc over the heads of the crowd. "Hi, everyone. In case you don't know me, I'm Miracle Girl." There were a few cheers and whistles, which she acknowledged with a quick bow "Thank you. And sort of continuing with the theme of irony that Spitfire started, I'm going to sing a song I love about something I would never do." Then the music started, and Casey began to tap the toe of her boot and slap her thigh to the rhythm of a little slice of country as a Big and Rich hit began to play. Like Max, she was far from a professional singer, but the Coloradan's voice was not unpleasant and her line dancing moves were pretty darn good; during the music break, she hooked her thumbs in her utility belt and really went to town, flinging her golden locks this way and that as her red cowboy boots stomped to the beat. When she finished, she got an enthusiastic round of applause as she practically skipped back to the bar to her waiting glass of Sprite. "Hoo-wee, that was fun! Who's up next?"

Miracle Girl is happy to talk with police officers, but I'm not sure how Terrifica feels on the subject.

As an amphibian, I think the thought of freezing is most upsetting to Aquaria, so she travelled at the speed of horror! Initiative: 1d20+9=14

This is probably a really bad idea idea. Casey Blankenship, fully suited up as Miracle Girl, came in for a landing in front of Morley's, having looped around a bit to hide the fact that she came from the direction of the FCU campus; she felt bad slipping out on her sorority sisters, but her homework was all done (in a matter of seconds, as usual) and this seemed like a a good opportunity to meet other heroes, despite her relative lack of talent. The only real concern was the whole...bar part. Miracle Girl bravely strode up to the bouncer, still surrounded by the residual golden glow from her flight over, wearing her red, white and blue jumpsuit, gloves and boots, and her golden utility belt. However, tonight one thing was different: she'd traded her usual boots for a pair of cherry red cowboy boots! "Hi! I'm...here for the singing thing, but I'm only nineteen; do you have an armband I can wear?" She leaned forward to whisper, "I, uh, do have a driver's license....if you need to see it..." A few minutes later, the blonde beauty entered Morley's, looking a bit uncertain, at least until she saw the heroes over at the bar. "Hi there!" She flashed the bartender a winning smile as she self-consciously held up her wrist; her voice bore a hint of a Southwestern twang. "Can I have a Sprite?" She recognized a few heroes (all much older than her), but felt it was better to wait for them to handle introductions.

"NOOOO!" Once the true horror of the situation sank into her brain, Casey was streaking towards Delacroix's captors at terrifying speed, pounding feet first through the roof and second floor to land next to the Deep One with a resounding thud; in the heat of the moment, all thoughts of bringing her mentor flew out of her head, her thoughts only on saving the good doctor from an excruciating death. "Doctor Delacroix!" the blonde heroine bellowed at the top of her lungs. "We are here to rescue you!"

At first, Casey was a little thrown by Maria's description of her powers, but she tried not to be too judgemental; after all, she considered Aquaria to be a friend, and lots of people thought the Deep Ones were bad guys. "Dang, those are...unusual powers." Part of her wanted to laugh when she saw her new roomie floating all of six inches off the floor, but that would have been very rude, so she kept it together. "The healing thing is really cool, though; do you ever visit hospitals or places like that? They might be really happy to see you on the burn unit at FMC." When Maria made her vow of protection, Casey felt a little warm in the cheeks, and she was touched; it had been a while since she'd made any kind of oath, and she found she missed it. "And I've got your back, too, sister; 'Pi Til You Die', right?" She offered out her left hand for an even firmer shake, and held her right hand up making the Girl Scout pledge sign. "I swear on my honor as a Scout." The way she said it made it sound dead serious, like she'd take a bullet for her; who knew the little cookie sellers got so hardcore?

"Gaaah!" Of all the assaults on her person Grim had just received, ironically it was not the weapon or fire magic targeted at her that caused her the most pain; it was the attacks directed at her conjured net that hurt the most. Her glamour was still part of her somehow, and if something she made was damaged, she suffered as well, albiet the pain was more 'psychic' in nature. So even though that net was doing the job for it was created admirably, it waa sadly too much of a liability right now. Still doubled over in agony, the changeling dismissed the glamour with a wave of her hand, then wrapped a cloak of mystery about herself, which erased her from all senses but direct contact. Now feeling a bit safer, she slinked over by the cart to complete her recovery. -
Grim's gonna spend an HP to recover from the Stunned condition, sadly dispell the Object since it's what got her hurt, activate her Concealment and then move...somewhere.
