Well certainly a chance to form potential business partnerships is a good thing, and seeing Jaden react to a fae heroine might be worth the price admission, for me at least.
-
True enough, EP! Just didn't want to get greedy.
-
Miracle Girl could work in either, but disaster relief woukd really appeal to her, and her powers and skill set would be very useful.
-
Lynn might be interested in finding a new source for baked goods for the bookstore, which might prompt her and possibly Gretchen to visit Jaden's bakery. If there's any sort of magic involved, they may well pick up on it!

Once the talking began, Casey movied to get herself closer, her infrared vision now picking up several heat signitures; there were the masked men, but also another figure hiding in the shadows, bearing what looked to be a crossbow. Is that Riley from school? Would make sense that he patrols the parks at night. Trying to be as stealthy as possible, the blonde heroine got within fifty feet of the back of the nearest hoodlum, waiting for the right moment to make a move. She also took the opportuniy to see if she could make out whoever was talking on behaf of the forest.

Gretchen was all hints of smiles and flirtation right up until Shaul mentioned possible robberies, and then a very visible transformation took place; an involuntary shiver passed through the length of her body, her expression clouded and she pulled away, her left hand unconsciously protecting her belly. "We've had our share of crime to deal with here. It's not something to joke about." And now the shutters were back down, all warmth chased away by still-painful memories of a bleak November night three years ago. "Is there anything else I can help you with, ma'am?" She barely even made eye contact, her face a well-rehearsed blank. -
-It looks like the butler's on it.- -I don't know why, but I don't like him; maybe your paranoia's rubbing off on me.- -Ehhhhhhhxcellent!- -I'm gonna keep an eye on him and the birthday girl, just in case.- -How are you going to...the unicorn horn. You made it out of glamour. You really are devious sometimes.- -Yep!- Lynn sent her eyes and ears into the costume prop she made for Ms Ellie, switching back and forth between her own perceptions and her projected ones. It could be a little discombobulating at times, but it seemed like a good idea. Meanwhile, Bubbles approached the new arrival in the excellent shirt. "Ms Sarah, I presume?" She indiacted her T-shirt with a nod. "You have good taste." Then she bowed at the waist like she was meeting a duchess. "Bubbles the clown, your humble servant."

"Thank you," she murmured as she continued typing, placing the business card in the corner of the monitor screen. "'Mixed media', huh? You a FreeSA girl?" Gretch shook her head. "I staggered through those hallowed halls aeons ago. Music Theory 101 at 9am with a hangover is a special kind of hell." When the Indio girl inquired about the discount card, the young barista nodded and smiled. "'We do. Buy 10 bar drinks, get one free." She reached over to grab a discount card, then pulled out her wallet, which was on a chain, and fished out a business card of her own. "You showed me yours..." When Sam stepped out of the limo, the very image of the consumate performer, Lynn stood to one and did her best Vanna White, a warm and pearly smile on her face as she gestured towards Presto, though she did take a moment to bring her 'employer' back down to Earth. "They need to see the letter, boss, to see that you're on the up and up!" At this point, Gretch just wanted to get out of the damn limo and get shot, but she didn't want to throw off the tale her boss and Sam were spinning. -So what is my role in all this?- -You are...the technician, the brilliant yet surly head electrician in charge of all of Presto's special effects.- -Great. Typecasting.- -Sorry, hon, it's the best I could come up with on short notice!- -It's all good. I could play this role in my sleep.- The passenger side window powered down, and a young woman wearing a pair of goggles and a mildly annoyed expression poked her head out. "Can I come out now? I have to pee, and I'd hate to do it in El Presidente's car."

So they 'fixed' religion; gee, that's a relief! Good thing we had the Empress to tell us what worked and what didn't! However, Grim kept her thoughts to herself as the teleporter did its weird teleportation thing; it's funny how your own form of teleportation always felt normal, but anyone else's felt weird as f###. Once they were at the station or whatever it was, the changeling spotted a familiar face, as well as few up and coming YouTube stars. "Okay, so if the Empress is so darn smart, why did she order two knights in armor?" The petite figure of Grimalkin, with her pointed ears, spiky auburn hair and black and midnight blue leather costume, strode into the room like she owned the place. "Like, how can you possibly need more than one? Or is this a 'one does not simply walk into Mordor' kinda thing, because I would be down with that." She made eye contact with Gabriel, and waved and grinned. "Hi Gabe! Long time, no see! Hi...other people I don't know." Though she did point at Hyperactive. "You need a better moderator in your comment section; some of those punks are mean!"

Seeing nothing alarming out in the bay, Casey turned her gaze shoreward, her eyes looking for any sudden or suspicious movements...until she nearly split up her stawberry shake, as there was a pack of very shifty characters working their way through the woods not a hundred yards from were she currently sat. Oh look, it's the local Skeleton Scout pack on their way to a jamboree! I will join them, for I fear they may be lost! For a heroine known for making flashy entrances, Miracle Girl could be awfully subtle when she wanted to be; the main thing was minimizing the golden glow of her bioenergy field, which became brighter the more she used her powers. She drained her thick shake with one powerful slurp, then stepped off the edge of the statue in what was essentially a controlled fall, using only the bare minimum of her flight to make sure she didn't go splat at the foot of the Sentry, or rather in her case, make a sizable and expensive dent. Toward the bottom of her fall, she used a bit of thrust to swoop just short of the ground for a bit of lateral movement before she landed; when she did so, right next to one of the park's garbage cans so she could dispose of her trash, she'd placed herself about twenty yards behind her targets, well within range of her infrared vision as she began to dart from tree to tree to close the gap inbetween them.

So is Terrifica with the rest of the 'team', or is she off on her own?

He'll know Grim fer shure, just as she knows him; she has NO IDEA who the other folks are, though ironically enough one actually *works* for her. I don't think he'd recognize her, either, or at least not as his boss.

"Great, that's awesome," Casey said with considerable enthusiasm, but then noting the doctor's somewhat frazzled state, she cleared her throat. "Look, I know all this can be a little overwhelming; you know, supervillains, threats on your life...me." She shook her head and chuckled self-consciously before growing more serious. "But no one should make you do something you don't want to do, even so-called 'good guys'. If you don't feel comfortable visiting Blackgate, or if you'd like an escort-" She indicated herself. "That's all cool and totally understandable; I don't want to guilt trip you into doing something you don't want to do, okay?" The blonde heroine gently laid a hand on his shoulder, and you could practically feel the power rolling off her in waves as she looked very sincerely into his eyes. "I just think...sometimes we give up on people too quickly, you know? We forget that everyone had a mom and a dad and grew up somewhere; no one was born a 'bad guy'...or at least I don't think so." Giving his shoulder a friendly squeeze, Casey nodded to herself and turned to go, suddenly feeling a bit melancholy, as she often did when her natural optimism seemed at odds with the rest of the world. But before she took off into the air, she stopped, sighed and pulled a notecard and a pen out of her utility belt. "You know, I probably shouldn't do this, but..." She scribbled down two initials ('MG') and a phone number with an out of state area code as she shook her head. "If it's an emergency and you need help, or if you decide you want some company at Blackgate...give me a call." She pointed at the card with her pen. "Do not give that out, or I will fly back here and drop you in the ocean. Like, five miles out to sea!" The youthful powerhouse scowled and shook her fist comically, then waved and smiled before rising up into the sky dramatically. Great, now I have to fly back later and grab my clothes off the roof; reaaaaaal smart, Case!

Casey had done her job; she'd forced her way into the bunker in a rather loud and flashy way, drawing attention away from Warne and the rest of the team. Yet she found herself glowing and hovering in the air, fists clenched and long blonde hair billowing around her, rather taken aback by the voice she encountered. "I regret to inform you that I'm very real. My name is Miracle Girl, and I am here to save the hostages." As she spoke, she cast her eyes around the chamber, looking for any sign of either the speaker or any of the captives.

"Yeah, but that's the best time to flirt," she said with a sigh and a wistful smile. Shaking her head, she made a 'get thee away' motion with both hands as she walked back towards the sales floor. "Okay, now it's time for you to amscray; I'm a terribly important person with things to attend to. Shoo, raus, andele andele!" Meanwhile, Gretchen resumed their mental conversation. -I must say, of your many bad ideas? This is the most recent.- -Har har.- -In all seriousness, I meant what I said about backing your play.- -Thank you.- -Am I also taking numerous precautions and making back-up plans and redundancies in case she betrays us all? Absolutely.- -That's...fair.-

"Oh thank God! Is that Possie?" The blonde powerhouse recognized her voice from watching her routines; as a bit of a jock, Casey always wanted to support her fellow athletes. She reached out to her and felt her sling, but then quickly withdrew her hands. "Oh, I'm sorry, you're hurt! I shouldn't-" Casey suddenly yelped and jumped away from the sight of Possie's bloody skeleton looming over her, its movements indicating concern. The pain and dizziness seemed to be a bit less now that she was focusing on one thing, but that thing was fairly horrifying. She shook her head and kept looking at the gymnast sidelong, like the way one tries to avoid staring at the Sun. "I'm fine, just...please stand over there. No, please please please, stay over there! Don't come near me, please!" There was more than a hint of panic in her voice.

As she often liked to do, Miracle Girl was perched on top of the Sentry Statue, enjoying an incomparable view; not only did she have one of the world's most beautiful natural harbors spread before her, but with her amazing eyesight she could take in a lot more than most people. She noisily slurped on a large, triple thick strawberry shake (the cold never bothered her anyway), her feet dangling over the one-way glass windows in the statue's forehead as she just took in the world. But of course, she also still used the opportunity to scan for danger, looking for anything out of the ordinary...

Once they were all back in the elevator lobby, Lynn could tell something was different, but she couldn't tell what; looking form one face to the other, she shook her head a little bit. "Something's different, but i can't tell if it's good or bad." "I think the place is now more attuned to us, which is probably a little bit of both." "So, what do we do now?" "He said for you to imagine the elevators were repaired. I think at this point, it's actually that simple." "Okay, well, that makes sense, I guess; just like how I made the theater, right?" The changeling closed her eyes and began taking deep breaths as she focused her mind and creative energies on the task at hand, attempting to visualize the cables and the buttons and all the other parts- Suddenly one of cardboard 'Out of Order' signs felt down to the carpet; the sound it made was hilariously anti-climactic. Lynn started at the sign for several seconds. "Sooo, is that it? One crummy sign falls down? I was expecting at least a little something more impressive " Just then, the light over the door lit up with a ding, and the doors slid open to reveal a luxuriously decorated elevator car...complete with a gold-framed mirror on the back wall, now fully intact. "Guess our ride's here."

Gretchen pursed her lips as she began to type up the order; clearly this girl was not the sort to be dissuaded by traditional concepts of fidelity, which in some ways the young barista respected. To be honest, she'd been considering ways to spice up her relationship with Lynn; not that things were in any way going badly, but she still liked to experiment, and adding a third partner was definitely high on the list. However, you had to pitch these things the right way, and if you picked the wrong third, it could be disastrous. But at some point even the mutual exploration of powers would start to become tiresome, so it was best to keep an open mind. Stepping on tiptoe to look over the top of the register, Gretch cleared her throat. "I need a name for your order. And a phone number and email address." There was just a hint of a smile on her lips.
