Would very much like to see Casey involved in something like this.
-
Correct. Even though the Irishman is pissing her off, the guns have more potential to hurt her, so she'll focus on the three Copy Errors.
-
Okay, so now Casey will spend the HP to stunt her freeze breath, which has the following effect: Freezing Breath, Selective Cone Damage 8 (Flaw: Full Round Action, 80' cone) DC23 Toughness Save. I'm assuming she can probably only get the three CEs or the Irishman and not both, correct?

Happy birthday, Sailor!

My pudding cup shall be avenged. The sudden appearance of Crow in her office was mildly annoying to Lynn, but only because any performer worth their salt hates to be upstaged in their own dressing room, as it were. There was definitely some relationship between Morgan and Crow, quite possibly familial (Crowe/Crow? Please!); they could be brothers, cousins, summoned aspects of each other or even the same person, but whatever it was it, it was not her place to pry. You had to respect a hero's process and M.O., or else everyone would realize how silly it was to have grown men and women dress up in Halloween costumes and shoot ray beams at each other, and how fun would the world be without that? "Hello, Crow. It must have taken some major mojo to bypass our wards," the changeling said sweetly. "If you want, I could just put you on the guest list; never have to wait behind the velvet rope again." Gretchen rolled her eyes at that; as the resident security expert and perpetual naysayer, she felt Lynn's life and home were entirely too open to relative strangers, which she knew would eventually bite them all in the ass. "Will Blodeuwedd be joining us? She usually has her finger on the city's Celtic pulse." She actually pronounced the Welsh heroine's name correctly, but given her faerie gift of tongues, perhaps it was less surprising.

Silberman's Books, at the corner of Pratt and Frederick. Saturday, January 7th, 2017 10:30 am. With the panic and mayhem of another holiday season behind them, the crew at the West End's most popular used bookstore could finally breathe a collective sigh of relief. January was typically a month of austerity in the US, especially in the retail sector, which made it a good month to take stock and look back on the year that was, and begin serious planning for the year ahead. The decision to open earlier on weekdays and Saturdays, as well as offering breakfast sandwiches, meant major staffing adjustments and a lot more work for the openers. Despite the passing of the holiday rush, the store still need to hire a few more people. So far, the first Saturday morning was a success as the neighborhood discovered the new adjusted hours and menu items, but the store was just a little strained under the increased customer load. A number of Merges were on-site, though of course only one was currently behind the register; the others were either doing dishes or checking stock in back. Gretch was doing her best to 'play well with others' on bar while Lynn worked the floor, using her amazing social skills to good effect. As usual, the two lovers were going back and forth via mental communication, and as often was the case, it was playful and fairly snarky. I want you to list five things you like about Merge. Really? We're having this conversation? Five things. Fine. ...I'm waiting... She...always smells nice. Wow. Really, that's your opener? She does...cool stuff with her powers sometimes. Cute outfits and stuff...

"The less you know about Merge, the happier you will be," hissed Gretchen tersely. "She eats little boys like you for breakfast." "She's a recent hire," Lynn said a bit more diplomatically. "Who can be a bit...much, sometimes. But her nature is her own business, so I'd rather not discuss it." Then she changed the subject back to Mason's own abilities. "Astral projection, huh? That's pretty cool! Can you visit other dimensions that way? The Nine Hells and the Six Hundred and Sixty-Six Layers of the Abyss?" It was not entirely clear how serious that last question was, to be honest. For her part, Gretchen's eyes narrowed at the mention of 'emotion control', which to her had some disturbing implications, especially in the hands of a young man attending college. "Just how much can you manipulate somebody's emotions? Can you create emotions that aren't already there, or redirect the focus of someone's feelings?"

I'd be cool with that.

So for deflags would those count as Unarmed attacks and throws as Ranged attacks? Loving this thread idea, by the way

Superhero. Sports. Just seeing those two concepts together made Casey insanely happy; before getting her powers, the young Coloradan was very active in school athletics, but they weren't really possible at Claremont. So the chance to actually participate in sports with other supers was too much to pass up. Miracle Girl normally made her landings gentle affairs, but today her excitement got the best of her, and she hit the field with a resounding thud. Rising up from her knee, the athletic young blonde strode confidently over to the gathering, her golden hair billowing in the breeze, wearing a short sleeve and jogging pants version of her normal uniform. She also had on red soccer cleats and fingerless athletic gloves. "Hi!" She waved eagerly, literally glowing with the biggest grin on her face. "I'm Miracle Girl! You must be the Hammer." Gazing around the athletic field, her eyes will filled so much delight and enthusiasm that even the most dour miser would crack a smile. "This is so cool!"

I am trying so hard to write an at least moderately realistic Englishwoman; please let me know if it ever gets too insufferable.

Headset or nutter? The eternal question once again reared its head as Izzy crept up on the very loud young woman, who apparently wouldn't know what 'stealth' meant if it snuck up and bit her on the arse. The ex-agent didn't even have to try and be sneaky over all her clattering and raving. Just then, a bloke in a very dodgy coat appeared out of thin air, which was interesting in all sorts of ways; perhaps it was time for Izzy to make an appearance as well. "The really interesting bit here," said a very proper English voice that floated out of nowhere. "Is why three tossers all showed up at the same fire at 2 am, isn't it? No ordinary fire could do that." The air seemed to ripple, and the form of a slender young woman appeared; her black suit covered all of her except the lower part of her face, which bore a cheeky smile, and red lenses covered her eyes. "Hullo! I'm Slither. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

I didn't realize that the fire had already burned itself out; I will edit my last post accordingly.

That's pretty much the way I saw it, Blarghy, though where are we in relation to the timetable of making the money drop? Is that still scheduled for the following day? And how long will it take to identify the Fanatic's location based on Punchline's description?

By this point, it seemed like everything they threw at her was getting through, and Casey was finally begining to flag; the shotguns thundered in her ears and the slugs shook her body, not doing the horrific amounts of damage they'd do to a normal human, of course, but to Casey they felt more like punches by Muhammed Ali. More than enough to throw her off-balance. And the blasted teleporter still wouldn't stop talking; the Irishman's 'gift of gab' almost hurt more than the slugs. "You show up...with guns...to take a scientist hostage," she finally managed to get out as she panted and staggered to keep her feet. "You're not some...servants of destiny; that just makes you...a pack of thugs...that no one will help...without force." She managed a feeble smile as she blearily raised her fists up into an attempt at a fighting stance. "Not in my city."

Miracle Girl gently disentangled herself from the sweet lady's hug; she was surprisingly strong for her age! Then with a quick smile and a wave, she was aloft once again, all her senses peeled for any trace of the three reckless drivers and their dangerous rides. We have to bring a stop to this nonsense now! Even with all our combined powers, we can't keep everyone safe forever! Do you two still have eyes on the targets?

"What kind of spells can you cast," Lynn inquired earnestly. "I mean, you don't have to spill all your secrets; it's always good to have a few tricks up your sleeve, and I certainly haven't told you everything I can do." Just then, there was a gentle knock on the door, and Gretchen joined them. "Everything good back here? I didn't hear any explosions, so I got worried." "Nah, we're good," the changeling said with a smile as she took Gretchen's hand and kissed it. "Are we okay on the floor?" "Merge has it covered," she said with mild annoyance as she took a seat on the arm of Lynn's chair. "She sent a representative from the back." "Mason and I were just discussing magic." "I figured," said Gretch as she made a gesture with her left hand, which floated the candy dish within her grasp, allowing her to fish out a fun-sized Milky Way. "Do go on."

Grimelsa smiled as she watch the Hammer playing with the kids; he was great with them, maybe a parent himself? When he called for the ceasefire and announced he plans to depart, she was genuinely sad to see him go. "Well, it was good working with you, Hammer," Grim said as she returned to her own form and offered the hero a firm handshake. "And I'll definitely try to catch your bout; haven't seen a good match in some time." Then she held out her hand and a business card appeared. "Call me if you're ever facing a supernatural threat you can't handle; I'm always happy to help out." The card described her as 'Grimalkin, Mistress of Mystery' and listed a toll-free phone number and her official website. "Take care," she said with a wink and a salute, then she turned to gently knock on the tent. "Hiddly-hoddly, neighbor! Can I come in? The battle has ended and peace has been restored."

The Ultimate Wrestling League - Ideas
Heritage replied to MBCE's topic in The Lighthouse: Catchphrase!
Just a note here: if you can, get your hands on a copy of the XWF (Extreme Warfare Federation) sourcebook for White Wolf's Aberrant, a wonderful look at super wrestling. PDFs of it might be out on Drive-Thru RPG. Really gives you the feel of how wrestling and superhero tropes can work together. EDIT: yep, it is! -
An End Is Just A Beginning...

Not sure if any of my PCs would fit for this (I've never done a proper Badass Normal/Cowl) but it sound very cool and epic! I will gladly offer you any other kind of help you need. The transfer of a Legacy should always been done with respect; I like it. -

Lynn shrugged. "Well, Gretch and I don't always see eye to eye; we have our little spats and disagreements. If people get along perfectly, I usually suspect mind control. And to be honest, finding a way to work with people you don't like is character building." She sighed, and then turned to facr Nicki directly. "Actually, while you're here, can I make a copy of your driver's license? I'll need your Social Security card, too, but you can get that to me whenever. This way 'Nicki' can be street legal." Meanwhile, Lance snuck over to the office door and knocked. "Uh, Merge? I've got something for you." He sheepishly entered with a delightful-looking mocha and a big chocolate chip cookie on a plate. "I wasn't sure what you liked, so I kind of played it safe." He placed the two items on the table before her, bowed slighly and smiled awkwardly. "I hope you like chocolate."

Decided to go with my gut here, and draw upon a bit of faerie tale logic and the classic ideas of destiny and being chosen; I trust you to make it all work, Tiff

This whole time, Gretchen had been silent, transfixed by the sight of the magician from times long gone lying on the couch; in particular, her eyes were drawn to the red ruby on his ring. Was there something inside it, yearning to be released, then bound again to a worthy soul...? Meanwhile, Grim was all business as she continued to ask Zee questions. "'Artifacts'? What kind of artifacts?" She shook her head and waved a hand towards the unconscious conjurer. "To be honest, I'm not so sure we should wake him up; maybe he sacrificed himself to bind a malevolent Nazi spirit for all eternity, and this was his chosen prison?" Gretchen crouched down beside Ira Silberman, her fascination only increasing as she closely studied the folds of his cape and the lines of his face; she could definitely see the family resemblance in the contours of the nose, the set of his mouth. He must have been quite the ladykiller in his day. "See, this is the problem with magic; unless you understand the symbols and what everything stands for, it's so damn hard to figure out!" The changeling pointed at Sam and chuckled. "Y'know it's times like this when I get why you don't like magic so much, Sam; science and mutations and psionic powers all at least follow rules, am I right? There's a logic you can follow, y'know?" "There's rules here, too," Gretch murmured as she looked down that handsome face. "You just need to know what story you're in." And with that, she leaned forward and kissed the Amazing Al-Kazar full on the lips!

Izzy smiled sweetly as she raised her glass in salute. "Cheers, mate!" Then she frowned slightly as she looked more thoughtful. "Well I wouldn't go so far as to say 'money is no object', but I would say that I'm willing to pay a bit more if said hotel meets certain essential criteria." She began to count off key points on her gloved fingers. "Central location, preferably near downtown, appaling housekeeping, and windows one can open with minimal effort." She shrugged and chuckled. "Now I realise these criteria may sound a little...what's the word I'm looking for...'suicidal', I suppose you might say, but my work does require a certain amount of...flexibility." She smiled at a private joke. "So, any suggestions along those lines would be greatly appreciated, mate." The newcomer took another sip of JB and savored the fire as it slide down her throat; her father would be appalled, but she'd grown rather fond of American whiskey.
