    Sorry, sorta been sidetracked by a few things (like ArchEvil! And... other things). I vaguely recall Darius was going to have Fulcrum Aid Dok on a Perform (Oratory) check, being the Ed McMahon to his Johnny Carson (or the Andy Richter to his Conan O'Brien). Or was that some fevered dream I had after too much Nyquil?

    You don't need to confirm crits in M&M. A nat 20 always hits, and if it'd hit anyway, that's also a crit. ... yeah, that makes no sense. Take the bonus now. (Looks like that'll be another House Rule) -1 HP, since you didn't need to re-roll the crit confirmation. Toughness save, DC 40 (1d20+21=29) fails by 11, that's Stunned + Staggered (+ existing Staggered = KO'd) Fiat to re-roll, Fulcrum gets an HP Toughness save, DC 40; fiat re-roll (1d20+21=30) +10 = 40 = no effect (though fluff-wise it'll look like it's taking massive damage, which quickly regenerates) EDIT: No, better idea. It takes 1 Bruise (or 1 Injury, if Dar wants to do Lethal damage), thus showing terminus energy can harm it, and thus laying a seed for an idea for Fulcrum later in the fight.     We all access this site primarily from a computer of some sort. When our computers go down, we can't access the site, and withdrawal symptoms start up. First up: security. (Libraries are great!) My work comp's been BSoDing lately, and the IT Lady suggested SUPERAntiSpyware, which she says it the best free antispyware around. I ran it, it found 400+ tracking cookies that AdAware (which I've used for years) and Avast (which I've recently heard Very Good Things about) had missed. Does anyone else have experience with SUPERAntiSpyware? Next, backups:

    Since nothing's been posted IC yet, I would, as an alternative, be very amenable to a do-over for your round's actions, letting you come up with something else (something more in-genre than "break out my Finishing Move in the first round"). Example: Inspire the team, Set Up for someone else. Break out the Symbionic Titan move (which, I must repeat, is really cool) later. Or, heck, do the Titan form and then Inspire -- seeing Jack in a giant energy construct robot is sure to be heartening! And, so Jack & Jill's "Form Giant Robot" thing (which Giz's been planning for literally months) isn't co-opted, Heri, you could have Grim join Scarab & Ferros in the "Journey into the Beast's Mind to free Dok" rather than doing Grimzilla (which, to me, doesn't seem to really fit her at all). Alternatively, do a "Wasp vs. Hulk" thing, fly inside it and blast (er, claw) at it's softer insides.

    Can't beat the DC 30 Taunt from Jill (no Bluff or Sense Motive, only a +4 on Cha and a +9 on Wis), so that works. Can't beat the DC 36 Feint from Jack (for the same reason), so that works. Fort save, DC 22, for Drain Fort effect (1d20+15=20) Fort's drained by 2 points, to +13 Fort save, DC 33, for Drain Toughness effect (1d20+13=29) fails by 4, so Impervious Tougnhess is drained by 2. Toughness save, DC 42; includes -1 from Bruise (1d20+18=32) fails by 10 = staggered + stunned, but it's already staggered, and staggered + staggered = unconscious. Toughness save, DC 42; includes -1 from Bruise; fiat re-roll (1d20+18=20) ... If I were to go with this, Willow will have contributed nothing to the fight, Fulcrum will have contributed nothing to either fight, nor would have Grim. That will not do, as everyone should have a chance to Be Awesome in this story arc. GM Fiat (Jack gets an HP). Dokthulhu's shapeshift (finally) kicks in to give it this Energy Sponge/Redirecting Life Energies: Healing 5 (Recovery +19; Extras: Action 4 [Reaction], Restoration, Total; Flaws: Personal, Source [Jill O'Cure's Energies]) {30/30} Restores 5 pp to each drained trait, so the Fort and Toughness are restored.     They (as well as anyone else on their turn) can use extra effort to get a save, and for that Jack can use his Ult Will to break free. And remember we do allow Extraordinary Effort (2 uses of Extra Effort, but you're Exhausted instead of Fatigued the round after), so you could use the Willpower form of Extra Effort and still use another form of EE.

    Dokthulhu Bruise x2, Stunned, Staggered First off, in an effort to make this fight last long enough that everyone can get to take part (both for the chars here and for the vignettes of Dragonfly and Nick Cimitiere), I'm giving Dokthulhu the following Regeneration 9 (Recovery Rate: Bruised 3 [No Action], Injured 6 [No Action]; PF: Regrowth) [10PP] No Action: Regenerate to remove 1 Bruise. Reaction: Fiat to remove Stun; all gain 1 HP Check for Uncontrolled Shapeshift; 11-20 = shapeshift'd (1d20=7) No uncontrolled shapeshifting Standard Action: Use Confuse Everyone within 60 feet needs to make a Will save, DC 22. No, scratch that, I'd like at least the illusion that it gets to do something. GM Fiat, everyone gets an HP, everyone fails the save. D20 BEHAVIOR 1-2 Attack Dokthulhu. 3-5 Act normally. 6-10 Do nothing but babble in incoherent rapid speech or in logorrhea (a torrent of coherent speech) (retains dodge bonus to Defense). 11-14 Flee at top possible speed. 15-20 Attack the nearest creature as if enraged (i.e., no skills, no Concentration or Sustained powers, no Taking 10 or 20), activating Rage feat if you have it. Confuse rolls for Jill O'Cure, Jack of all Blades, Willow, Fulcrum, Dynamo, Thrude, Grimalkin, and Colt (1d20=10, 1d20=8, 1d20=19, 1d20=8, 1d20=5, 1d20=10, 1d20=4, 1d20=1) Jill O'Cure: 10 - babbles Jack of all Blades: 8 - babbles Willow: 19 - attacks nearest creature as if enraged Fulcrum: 8 - babbles Dynamo: is out of the area's effect, so he's not Confused. Thrude: 10 - babbles Grimalkin: 4 - act normally Colt: 1 - attacks Dokthulhu Per Ecal's request, I'm Worf Effecting Geckoman (largely so he'll only have on char -- Arrowhawk -- active in this thread). The d20 roll for the effect will change each round. Since this is a Sustained (Lasting) effect, you get saves to break out, at 1 minute, 5 minutes, 20 minutes, and so on, with a +1 cumulative bonus each time. This requires no action on Dokthulhu's part; it continues until you successfully save or someone counters it.     It shrieked again, more mouths (human and non) forming alongside rattlesnake tails and the chirping wings of crickets. The terrible cacophony resounded in both the ear and the mind, sending the hero's minds scrabbling back to the comfort of earlier, safer times. Dynamo alone was safe from the onslaught. The Espadas siblings recoiled to the nursery rhymes of their childhood, and theme songs from morning cartoons, as Mona recalled the lullabies she sang to them. Thrude, too, recalled the chants of her youth, songs sung in the mead halls of distant Asgard. Willow's recollections were far bloodier, her mind reverting to an almost atavistic state when she and her sisters culled vast swaths of life from the ecosphere at the behest of her masters the Preservers. Billy's mind did not travel as far back as his comrades, though the impact was as strong: he saw a gallery of Gillman's faces appearing on the beast, pushing out from its horrid flesh and taunting the bounty hunter with every crime and foul deed he had gotten away with. By contrast, Lynn was pushed the furthest back, remembering things not from her mortal past but from the past of the faerie courts, the bloodshed and intrigue and chaos of that distant land resonating with and, for the moment, shielding her from the brunt of the maddening assault. Geckoman, his Pitchoo on the very edge of it, sought solace in the innumerable quips and jibes he would typically hurl at a foe, but instead found himself stuck in an endless loop of snarky commentary.

    The beast roared under Dynamo's assaults, its multitude of arms straining to reach for the speedster, but failing to find purchase on his too-fast legs. It screamed at Colt's attack, mouths splitting open and rolling back to be absorbed by the greater mass of flesh as unidentified fluids and organs and writhing forms spilled out from the gaping holes the gunslinger's bullets tore in it. Yet already the holes closed over, filling in with necrotic flesh and bone, replacing the multicolored skin and scales from a panoply of mutated life with a gray, scabrous hide.
