  1. The "Sanity Drain" Drain Wis/Mental Blast combo need to be the same range (Drain is Melee/Touch by default), if they're supposed to be Linked effects.
  2. That hits exactly, but does not do enough damage to bypass his Impervious, though it does reduce his Ablative Impervious to 13. Grim's up! Also, after this first round, the other Interceptors -- Geckoman, Thrude, and Willow -- can appear. Quote, I'm going to PM you some ideas re: Ferros.
  3. 29 -- Dynamo -- undamaged 23 -- Grimalkin -- undamaged 18 -- Colt -- undamaged 18 -- ArchEvil -- undamaged 17 -- Jack of all Blades -- undamaged 08 -- Jill O'Cure -- undamaged 07 -- Fulcrum -- undamaged Dynamo's up!
  4. And to expand on a point Cubist made re: the Hero System -- it may help you (in addition to all the points Shaen made) to think of M&M as a very, very stripped down version of the Hero System. Both are effects-based systems, but unlike the Hero System, you can do more -- quite a bit more, really, due to Extra Effort and Hero Points -- than what is written on your sheet.
  5. This is exactly the take on magic and the supernatural my namesake character has: that it's all just mutants who are either delusional and believe they're magical, or who are deliberately lying to pose as deities, or extraterrestrial hijinks witnessed by ignorant hicks (i.e., the Stargate ploy), or things from some other dimension. He's flat-out wrong, though, since magic and gods do exist, as separate and distinct things, in the FC Multiverse.
  6. Indeed! In fact, anyone with an HQ with the Communications feature can be assumed to know of the city- and worldwide shenanigans.
  7. Initiative time! Initiative for Evil!Dok (1d20+7=18) Remember you all have 1 extra HP from getting mind-whammied in the first place.
  8. With one hand on Fulcrum's hip and the other holding Dynamo's notepad, ArchEvil glanced over the speedster's notes, his inhuman mind rapidly absorbing the info. "It would seem," he said, still through gritted teeth, "they left in a hurry. Someone must have tipped them off. Probably the mind-witch..." "Auffängers, assemble!," ArchEvil barked. "This prize may have escaped, but there are others. Scarab will be coordinating the efforts against us," he released Fulcrum, flipped open a panel on his left gauntlet and began inputting commands, "but I know where her little dung mound is. We-" The six heroes felt a second tingle that night as the nanites altering their brains shut down, and were swiftly broken down by their own bodies natural immune system responses. "No... what is-" he murmured to himself, then suddenly shouted "Auffängers, frei macht arbeit!" With those three words, the conditioning was broken. They were themselves again -- the shutdown even undid the changes ArchEvil's nanites had done to their costumes, restoring their appearance as their minds were restored -- and they remembered everything. ArchEvil looked up at the Interceptors, baring his teeth as his helmet's faceplate slammed down.
  9. I believe AA's mentioned he planned to have Edge go after the Castle.
  10. quote, I'm kicking myself for forgetting this: talk to Quinn re: Blueshift & Push going to Nichtuberall (Dok's super-secret asteroid base).
  11. Not particularly, just make sure it all flows together (pseudo)naturally.
  12. I suppose, if no one else is interested in doing a "powerless heroes in the spooky castle" tale, Blueshift can work on deactivating the power dampers (and teleportals).
  13. Other than finding three people under there (one of whom has an arm off), no, not really.
  14. The (surface) Bronwstone's actually three three-level tonwhouses, each one weighing (based on this article on house weight, and using the average of ~2,000 ft2 for a 3-level towhouse) ~350 tons. 1,000 tons would get all of all three.
  15. Also, for posterity:
  16. Hunh, so it does. I misread that. I mean... Good!Dok secretly redirected energies at the last nanosecond!? In keeping with the "Good!Dok's exerting subtle influence on Evil!Dok just as Evil!Dok's been exerting influence on him all these years," I'mma say it's Nonlethal. I'mma say yes, since this -- having the building fall on him -- is very much a surprise attack. My personal rule of thumb is that a Disabled condition can (if the player agrees) sever limbs (based on the bit about Regrowth saying that if you recover a Disabled condition you can regrow lost limbs), which he would've suffered on that original roll (er, if this was Lethal damage). If you want Gecks to lose a hand, I'm perfectly okay with that.
  17. The senses-shattering conclusion to the Evil!Dok saga! For now, just the six Interceptors -- Colt, Dynamo, Fulcrum, Grim, Jack and Jill -- should post. (They'll find the inside of the house empty, as by now Scarab's already warnedAvenger & Phantom of what's going on.) Others can come in by invite, and other threads may be spun off from this one as needed.
  18. Date: June 17th, 2011 (Friday), later afternoon/early evening Continued from ArchEvil: Terrible Bosses and News. In one of the darker corners of the historic waterfront of North Bay lay a spooky old house, complete with a graveyard off to the side: the home of Jack and Taylor Faretti. In the middle of the seldom-used street which ran by it, a pinpoint of blue-grey light appeared, which exploded into a great sphere. Out of this strode a grim figure in black and blood red armor, followed closely by six figures of equally dark, though very familiar, mien (one notably taller than the others). "Come along, Auffängers!," ArchEvil commanded. "This Doktor has a housecall to make!" ArchEvil stopped mid-step. "Auffängers," he said between gritted teeth, "secure the perimeter... and find the witch, the vampire, and their abomination of a child!"
  19. Fails the Reflex save, fails the Toughness save by 5, so she's Bruised, and Stunned for a round.
  20. 1 HP for Ferros, Geckoman, Thrude, and Willow b/c the villain escaped. 1 HP for them b/c I'm fiating the Self-Destruct feature for the Brownstone. Since it's a PL 15 HQ, I'll treat it as an Area Damage 15 Attack. DC 25 Reflex, then a DC 30 (or 22) Toughness save.
  21. Date: June 17th, 2011 (Friday), later afternoon/early evening Continued from ArchEvil: Terrible Bosses Just as Ferros reached up the ring the doorbell on the building Doktor Archeville had instructed him to go to should he feel he was ready to audition for the fabled Interceptors, the building collapsed, threatening to fall upon him! Inside, in the secret basement lair of that team, Geckoman, Thrude, and Willow had just witnessed the team's secret benefactor -- Archeville himself, now some sort of hideous fish-man! -- usurp control over the core members of the team, then teleport away with them as he ordered Vince, the team's AI 'mascot,' to activate the building's auto-destruct, bringing it down upon them!
